Figma provides great clarification. Pros Figma as I put it is like Photoshop on steroids. I am very familiar with Photoshop, and Figma's capabilities for making working prototypes blew me away. Pros Just makes sense, it brings togeter elements from other design packages (Illustrator, Photoshop etc...) so makes it easier and quick too pick up and start seeing results. Cons Unlcear about why to use the desktop version, as the web version seems to do everything as well. Either way, its not a show stopper. When shared, anyone can click and see what UI experience is expected. Pros Even free version is great to create UI mockups. Love creating components that contain several basic UI elements. Also I like sharing capabilities Cons Some tools are not very easy to understand of how to use. Maybe having more predefined controls also would be great. I and my colleagues used Figma to collaborate and design a number of applications and websites with ease. Pros Using Figma you can design your applications, websites with a team collaborating in realtime. Also, Figma comes with a toolbox of useful features. When you design a component you can save it as a reusable component throughout the Figma project. Also, the auto-layout feature is a lifesaver that aligns the components like magic. You can get a preview link from each Figma project to present your design mockup. Cons If you're coming from other design software or totally new to designing there is a significant learning curve. Pros The main is the ease of collaboration between different people. Figma is also intuitive for those who are familiar with other graphic apps, like Sketch, XD, and Illustrator. It is straightforward to use and it makes collaborating on a single design easy for people in different locations. Cons Not all of the functions are intuitive. Pros I could go on and on about how much I love Figma, the software is beyond easy to use and being able to work with a team on the same file has made my company's workflow process so much easier. I love that there is a website and a downloadable app. I've recommended Figma to at least 2 people a week since I started using it. Cons Truthfully, I don't have many complaints about Figma. Pros Figma is a pick up and play tool for anyone on a design team involved in UX. The commenting function is very useful and it's so easy to alter anything and collaborate with colleagues. Cons In all UX software I wish there was more emphasis on the content side. More useful content tools will always be appreciated. Also, Figma needs a beefy spec PC to run! I will be keeping an eye on this to eventually make the switch one day! Pros I like that this software is free and compatible across all devices. This tool reminds me of sketch and its helpful that the artboards transfers from sketch into figma. Sometimes I will need to work from home, and it's easier to upgrade your pc than it is your Imac. A recent update allows animated gifs into your design file, which is pretty neat when presenting prototypes. Cons Lack of integrations, I need as many shortcuts as sketch has, and right now figma isnt quite there to make the switch. I hope one day to see them partner or merge with a company like invision. It's super easy to design a low-fi or hi-fi wireframe for websites and apps. Cons Not a fan of the Pen tool. It's not a true vector tool, which makes it a little difficult to work with. In my field we use it for planning and organizing (e.g. setting up an onboarding). It is very easy to collaborate and get started with templates and is quite self explanatory. After just 1-2 use you get comfortable with the software. Cons I haven't found a con yet with Figma, especially when comparing it to similar tools like Miro & whimsical. There’s definitely a steep learning curve but features such as ‘Components’ or shared effect styles are completely worth it. Figma saves me hours daily. Being cloud-based, Figma can be accessed on any computer — your files are a couple clicks away. I wish there was a downloadable offline version of the software, though. It would come in handy for those times when the Wi-Fi just won’t working. But all in all, Figma is just awesome! Share ideas between team members. Pros This software is so easy in use. Interface completely user friendly. Clear and understandable navigation in viewport. Cons Message system could be more accurate. May be it will be better if you could pin message to picture. If you deleted or moved picture you had message somewhere on canvas without any idea what it belongs to.
