Pros: *Ease of use-extremely intuitive & on-line help is very useful
*Adaptability w/Other Systems- rather than trying to be one stop shop ERP with every module/system it is built to integrate with best in class systems
*Ease of Customization - allows for simple customization (e.g. field names) that aren't messed up nor require testing with upgrades; to more enhanced/involved platform customization
*True Cloud based/SaaS Solution- it was never an on-prem. solution that had to be adapted to the cloud, it has always been a cloud based solution and when using the system this is very evident when compared to other solutions that have later launched a cloud based solution
*Upgrades are seamless and relevant
*Pricing is competitive and thus far haven't turned into a typical Tier 1 system in terms of high single digit annual price increases (hopefully they never will as this makes it much more appealing to the small/mid sized companies which will organically increase Intacct's revenues through their employee/user growth)

Cons: *Very difficult to find programmers/developers experienced in this system (hopefully will come with time and their continued growth)
*Customer service is just marginal- we don't pay for the enhanced service so that may be really good. Fortunately it is not very often needed (system is so intuitive and on-line help resources are great)

Overall: See all pros listed on the review...it is such an easy to use system that enables us, as a smaller start up company have a great foundation as we continue to grow.

Pros: Intacct allows for the creation and utilization of any fields desired for your business eliminating the need for the multitude of work-arounds necessary to create detailed reports in other accounting systems. Intacct also has the most capable custom reporting interface I have utilized to date, saving hours of time formerly spent on the extraction, transformation, and production of standard company reports. Other benefits include, ability to import any type of transaction, ability to bulk export all GL transaction data (a personal favorite), a robust API allowing for integration with internal databases, payroll software, etc.

Cons: Initial setup was led by a less experienced implementation specialist which led to difficulties as we began to review and create custom reports accurately. After speaking with a consultant, we determined the issues, corrected them, and have produced real time advanced reports which have provided a level of insight which was unachievable within other accounting software.

I am a true fan of Intacct and love how much customization it allows.

Pros: I love the Custom Reporting capabilities through dimension use... looking at the GL as a database structure makes the software very versatile and easy to use. The output potential is outstanding!

Cons: Cost. It's a great product, but I really wish there was a light version for our company, and for other smaller companies starting up. There is a strong market for a light version. That way the company could grow into the full version.

Overall: We have been able to set up recurring transaction to automate similar monthly/quarterly transactions, allowing us to fully operate with less human capital, and less human errors. We've been able to increase our reporting internally with many many many custom reports to suite the needs of various stakeholders. We can see investor summaries across the entire enterprise with the multi-entity structure. We utilize upload templates often to allow us ease of entry - for example, we do monthly uploads of income allocations across every entity in one root level entry done by exporting a custom report, using excel to seamlessly do an index match and hlookup to complete the upload template, then upload! It's simple, fast, and accurate.

My organization has been using since October 2016 for AP, AR, Purchasing, and fund management.

Pros: We transitioned from a manual recordkeeping system to this electronic accounting system. This means all of our transactions are available to be reviewed at any time from anywhere. Reports are available instantaneously reflecting the latest transactions. Transactional history to review activity from creation to being posted to the GL is tremendous and helpful. The software offers many more versions of reports than was available with our prior legacy system.

Cons: One of the most difficult items with this system is that user restrictions prevent Custom Reports from being accessible to 75% of our users. The report writing tools would benefit from an overhaul to allow merging of multiple data tables and more customization of the report appearance. Also there are so many aspects affected by creating a GL Account that there is a steep learning curve in understanding where to efficiently generate new records.

Overall: By being able to automate our financial activity we have increased the amount of information available to key decision makers for more informed decisions. The amount of time it takes for us to process purchasing transactions has decreased by a dramatic amount of time .

Great and attentive customer service. Very accommodating with our customization and concerns.

Pros: I like the flexibility and ease of the software. It is overall simple to correct errors. I enjoy the import features for invoices and journal entries. Saves a lot of time and is user friendly, even for less experiences computer users.

Cons: The restrictions of some features and functions. I feel like the functionality is more designed by computer programmers than by actual day to day users. For example, if you are trying to create a custom report, vendor ID is stored one way when entering invoices, and another way when entering journal entries. Customer service suggested to me that I enter the vendor ID in 2 different fields (I believe Vendor_ID and APBillItem_VendorID) for all invoice imports so that I can use 1 f. This is redundant and frustrating. Also for example, you can set invoices to "warn" you if duplicate invoice numbers when manually entering, but if you are using the import feature, it will just crash. You have to de-select the "warn" option, upload the file, and then turn the "warn" function back on. This is not practical. There should be some type of override function for intentional duplicate invoice #s.

Sage Intacct is a solid base that meets our business needs as a not-for-profit organization.

Pros: The software is very responsive and thoroughly integrated. I also appreciate the constant enhancement, the responsive Support team, and the frequent webinars that inform of the new changes and improve the usefulness of the software . This level of support gives confidence in the tools and the product in general.

Cons: A greater possibility of integration will make Sage Intacct even more useful and helpful to the user. Additionally, quick glances that summarize the different ways the software can be useful can be helpful to new users.

Overall: Sage Intacct is a solid base that meets our business needs as a not-for-profit organization.
The software is very responsive and also thoroughly integrated. I also appreciate the constant enhancement and the responsive Contact Sage Intacct Support. This level of support gives confidence in the tools and the product in general.

Pros: Intacct makes my job so much easier. It is easy to use and is very intuitive. The software can be used in creative ways and not just as standard bookkeeping software. It integrates easily with other softwares so you can link everything together. Overall it saves us time and money.

Cons: There are very few issues with the software. I have noticed that when I'm have an issue with the software it can take a little bit longer then I would expect for the problem to be resolved. We are busy people and need our programs to be running properly to get our jobs done.

Overall: Monthly close process is completed faster with intacct. It allows us to process and approve AP seamlessly, saving us time and money by outsourcing it to Intacct. Can use the software in creative ways, not just as bookkeeping.

Customer support was great from the start and the program is flexible in regards to creating reports

Pros: I like the ability to create the financial reports and also the Dashboard reports. The payables area is easy to perform functions and the year-end close is very simple.

Cons: This program is mainly written for the US market and is not able to create an EFT file (Canadian) that can be uploaded to the bank and create journal entries simultaneously. That would benefit us to make payments that are not by cheque. The "cash" payment types are good because an e-mail can be sent: however still requires for us to do a separate EFT payment on the bank.

Overall: The software allowed ability to perform accounts payable to issue cheques and to produce financial statements quickly. The 12 month report is very useful to pick up changes to values in account. The budgeting aspect is also useful for variance analysis.

Intacct has revolutionized our accounting processes and is a giving us a gold mine of information.

Pros: Ease of use. Intuitive interface. Integration with multiple Intacct Marketplace Partners. Consolidation functionality (check the box and hit consolidate and it produces reliable consistent results. Scorecards and dashboards provide a wealth of current information on the health of our business in as real time a setting as we can make it. Future roll outs promise integrated AI functionality that will be a game changer. Scalability that meets the needs of our rapidly changing business is great.

Cons: As you can tell, I am a fan of Intacct and don't have too many suggestions for improvement. It makes our life easier, more efficient and productive, and gives us the information we need.

Since we switched from Great Plains (pc based) I can't see myself working with any other software.

Pros: The account string is flexible and you can query on just one dimension and it allows you to run reports over multiple years. I love that it creates the intercompany entries behind the "scene" - that was always a headache to reconcile.

Cons: The report writer is a little confusing but just had training and need time to practice. I tried to create a cash flow report from training but I got lost in all the column's and groups of groups that needed to be created. I also wish the report would display on screen when running and not only in edit mode.

Overall: It makes the monthly close faster and allows us to change things if there are errors in the account adjustments. It also enables the program managers to view their data rather than have us run reports for them.

Pros: Intacct is a great foundation to our accounting package. It allows us to build in other softwares (Nexonia, Bill.com,) to make an accounting system that works for our organization.

Cons: The price is high for Intacct compared to other fund accounting platforms for churches. On top of the cost for Intacct, you pay extra for any additional platform you decide to use. We also always seems to be tweaking how we have items set up. This could be good because we'll always making it better, but sometimes wish there was just one simple way of using the product.

Overall: by using Intacct, we've been able to keep our man hours low in the accounting office. This has allowed us to put our energy toward ministries and not back office cost.

Pros: There are several things I like best about this product and vendor: Product: 1) Cloud service is nice - you can access the product from any location and we have not experienced any down time to date 2) Automatic Allocations allow us to allocate invoices and journal entries upon entry instead of waiting until the end of the month 3) Reports are easy to write and very versatile 4) Dimensional tracking allows you to track more than just an account number for each transaction line item. Reports on dimensions are also great. Vendor: 1) Support is very responsive - it is extremely easy to open a support case and have an issue resolved in the same day.

Cons: I wish the general ledger reporting was more streamlined. Since we are allocating many of our invoices to multiple dimensions as they are entered, the GL shows multiple lines for each AP invoice. It would be nice if you could summarize by GL account while still allocating to different dimensions, but you cannot. This results in a much longer GL report, but we have adapted by creating additional reports to use in place of the standard GL reports.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is a great option if you are looking to allocate transactions upon entry and if you are looking to track other items such as departments, projects, locations, etc in addition to the account number. The reporting options are endless and it is nice to be able to report on accounts in addition to dimensions or some combination thereof.

The experience has been great. Very flexible and customizable software.

Pros: The flexibility of the software has to be its greatest strength. Reports, workflows, field names, etc are just a few of the customizable items in Intacct. But Platform Services allows for the development of entire applications within Intacct to support your business processes down to the most granular detail.

Cons: The reporting, platform services, and general ledger modules (the modules that our company use the most) don't seem to get very much attention in the past few years in terms of further development in the quarterly update to the software. They are very useful as they currently exist but have some long-standing limitations that don't seem to be on anyone's radar.

At my previous company I helped implement and customize our software. I love Intacct!

Pros: I love the ease of use that has made the system so seamless and accessible. I Love the visuals that make it happy and easy to look at all day. I really enjoy working with our Account Manager who helps out with any issues we have. The system is pretty fast when doing uploads.

Cons: My biggest concern with the system is that you cannot have the same functionality in all modules. For example, in the Credit Card module users are unable to use the allocations in order to allocate costs correctly. I (as well as others) have logged a case about this in the Intacct Community portal.

Overall: Better efficiency and accuracy in maintaining our data. Thanks Sage Intacct!

Pros: UI is easy to use and new users pick up the core functionality quickly. Basic navigation is intuitive and easy to get started.

Cons: Intacct seems to be in a state of change and processes are breaking down. Things that used to be resolved quickly are taking longer to get resolved. Example: We were without an account manager for a couple of months after our AM left Intacct. We had requested some consulting services to implement two modules and the SOWs went months without being prepared.

Reports are built as if we would be printing them. I just want to get raw data, not formatted reports and graphs.

Overall: core accounting features.

Generally pleased with Intacct. Have not tested its capabilities yet, but have had good success.

Pros: UI is good. Ease of maintenance. General ease of use. Functionality is adequate and improving. Like the newly develop Contracts module, though pricing was wrong and made our purchase difficult.

Cons: Reporting package needs help. Have heard and seen hope for better functionality, but have yet to see delivery. Fearful that advanced reporting will be an option, which would not be good!

Detailed TB is getting out of control with unnecessary attachment of dimensions to balance sheet accounts. Need to find a way to turn that off (hopeful it can be done).

Overall: Ability to run our accounting processes with an easy to maintain product.

Pros: Accommodates most of the needs of a growing company. Allows for some customization. Interface is easy to understand and can usually be figured out by trial and error.

Cons: Instruction manuals are lacking, will need to learn as you go. Sales team is extremely lacking in providing support and solutions that may help a growing company. Implementation of add-on modules is very generic with very little support for customization. Once implemented, we found that we were on our own in trying to resolve issues that should have been addressed by the implementation expert.

Intacct is one of the best accounting programs I've ever worked with. Easy to use.

Pros: Intacct is easy to navigate and user friendly. I can usually find my way through reports and pages without having to use a manual or call support. There are always updates done on the program so it's always running at its best. There are many customizable reports for all different needs and all members of the company. I truly enjoy working with Intacct.

Cons: The only thing I'd like is to have bigger text boxes where I can view the memo descriptions by just rolling my mouse over the box instead of having to click it to see everything.

Pros: It is straightforward and user friendly! I love the option to customize so many features and invoice templates/statements/email templates, etc. The functionality they allow you to customize i feel is a major benefit even though it takes major setup sometimes.

Cons: The AP module is a struggle with credits. I know they are working on it but we need more functionality to apply credits. I also hope they will improve the emails that go out from the system and ensure they don't get stuck in people's spam.

Overall: streamlined our clients, streamlined our process.

This is one of the better Accounting Software that I've used. I love the ease of correcting entries

Pros: I love the ease of making corrections to the financials. I also like the ACH feature of Accounts Payable as well as the auto-population of Accounts Payable as well as the ability to attach invoices, which allows for the entire Payables process to become paperless.

This product also automatically perform the 2nd entry on the subsidiary books, when inputting a Source Company.

Cons: The Purchasing piece does not keep the original date; which makes it hard to book to the correct period. Also the fact that you have to keep running Registers to see what was paid to avendor. There is no quick summary feature.

Overall: I love the ease of use and the ability to quickly correct entries.

I have been sold on Intacct for 7 years could not ask for better.

Pros: The system is User Intuitive, training new hires on the system is a 30 minute walk through, then onto process training. Speeds up everything, have as much or as little control setup. Flex to add custom anything to make the system work for you without damaging upgrade comparability. I truly love Intacct.

Cons: The only cons I can think of is little things like not being able to unapply a CM like you can a payment. It would be great to have the ability to create product types and your price book at the same time.

We have quite an uncomplicated business structure so Intacct does more than enough for us

Pros: It's very easy to use, except maybe the report writer which takes a bit of learning. It looks good. The dimensions help us split reports in different ways. Easy to audit.

Cons: Tracking an item through from the cash register to the point of entry is difficult. There are about 5 different screens you have to click through and sometimes it looks like an accounts payable item has been split into different lines when in fact it has not.

Overall: Reporting is much quicker and more in depth than what we were previously using. Data entry is easy.

Pros: The way it handles multi-entity and inter-company transactions. Simple user interface. Easy to navigate and correct entries. Great JE upload feature.

Cons: Report writer is a bit too complicated for someone not well versed in report writers. Would be great if it worked more like a pivot table.
My biggest complaint is not being able to transact in the subledger directly to a bank account.

Overall: We transitioned from Quickbooks to Intacct because of its abiilty to handle multi-entity and inter-company transactions. This saves us hours of work each month.

Pros: How it can email scheduled financial reports, the dashboards accessible for locations financial liaisons and graphs that combine accounting records with statistical metrics. This system has greatly improved the ability to communicate with many local leaders.

Cons: Very rigid with some AP and AR processes. Not intended for non accounting users .
Still unable to clear some credits in the AP aging report. Credits that were given after closing utilities accounts and not able to apply to next invoice.

Implemented in 2013 and using 90% of available modules day-to-day

Pros: The product has an extreme ease of use aspect to it that can make a finance person highly valuable in the world of business operations. The quarterly feature updates are "meat and potatoes" and not "fluff," which actually impacts its user community. The integration with Salesforce and Avatax to Intacct in the world of purchase to pay (expense reporting and purchasing) and quote to cash (including rev rec) is really cool. The ability to focus on transaction definitions vs. recording manual debits and credits is a huge benefit. 90% of my time can then be spent on more crucial business work and not bookkeeping!

Cons: The user base at Intacct appears to be in large part built with a lot of focus to non-hardware/software manufacturing customers. The way the Inventory module integrates with Order Entry could use some work, specifically around valuation, opening up the ability to grab metadata fields linked to Items, and general reporting (custom or standard). I understand that no product is perfect, but I would love to get more efficiency out of this module.

Recommendations to other buyers: This is not Quickbooks, my friends; this is not Dynamics or Netsuite. Intacct appears to be focused on being a cloud-based, well-rounded, and intuitive business system built on new technology with lots of features and regular updates that are driven to the new age of finance operations. If you want to be a bookeeper, don't buy it, because you won't get the value. If you want to be a business partner, go for it!

I love this product. The customer support is not as efficient and responsive as the product.

Pros: I like the integration of the sub-modules and that we can share data efficiently between the various platforms we use without corrupting data integrity.

Cons: The report writer. The system is simply not intuitive unless you use regularly. While some aspects do make reasonable sense once you get back into it, it feels like the system should be more intuitive or perhaps have a working report wizard.

Overall: Ease of use, accuracy and best of all efficient integration with other systems of my business.

Comments: We started using Intacct on 07-01-16 and have now used it for 4 months.

Pros: Intacct is very customizable. Intacct allows you to attach documents (pdf, excel, word, etc) to each transaction. Intacct can have many dimensions which gives it a lot of functionality. Intacct allows you to schedule automatic emailed reports.

Cons: The cost to implement is more that other software's like QuickBooks or Cougar Mountain. The cost to implement is almost equivalent to one year's subscription. The report writing is not very easy and takes time to learn. They start charging you during the set-up and implementation instead of on the go live date. My feelings are they do this so it is hard to switch softwares because you either have to pay for an extra year (if you are going to switch software) or you have to pay for another software early because of the untimely annual software renewal date. The budgeting aspect for original and multiple amended budgets is not the easiest to use. We are still working out the functionality of it. Not one of its strong points.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is not as easy as QuickBooks to use but is supposed to provide more customization. We are still getting used to it.

Pros: We chose this software to work with other existing software and it did not disappoint. We also selected this for that ability to incorporate statistical information with our financial information and create dashboards to share information internally.

Cons: There isn't really anything at this point that has caused problems or limitations. The only issue is when you export to Excel it does not use the latest version.

Overall: Dashboard, import and export.

Long time customer -- they keep me coming back / would be hard to go elsewhere.

Pros: Dimensions / reporting / ease of use -- short learning curve for new staff. Sage Intacct continues to stay ahead of the market with quarterly releases containing significant new/improved features.

Cons: The UI of a module or two is a bit out-dated / but on their roadmap. Other than that, nothing -- I love working with Sage Intacct

Comments: Overall I like the system- it does not do everything we were looking for- but it is much better than our legacy system

Pros: The system is very user friendly and intuitive. Reports can be customized pretty easily. The system has great import functionality. Dashboarding features in the system are great.

Cons: Some custom reports do not pull much needed information based on what module and table the information is housed in. System flows are much different from legacy systems (at least our agency's old legacy system)- make sure to ask really pointed questions when vetting system functionality.

Pros: Downloads to Excel work very well. The interface is intuitive and most functions are just a click or two away. They will work with you to get basic financial statements set up from the get-go.

Cons: Personally I prefer debits to always be positive numbers and credits negative, but in some cases this does not hold true in Intacct. For example, accumulated depreciation (a contra-asset) shows up as a positive number. Intacct is constantly improving their product, so I think they will work this out, but in some respects I feel that it is still a work in progress.

Comments: This is a good platform if you have appropriate training as it does not provide flexibility for mistakes. It is not a 'user-friendly' or intuitive platform

Pros: Cloud platform makes it very accessible. Works just fine from just about anywhere in the world. Provides audit trail. Allows excel export.

Cons: Too rigid and very little flexibility to make adjustments in every field. Prepaid module and FA module are very clunky. Customer support is nice and understanding but cant always solve your issues on time and are usually eager to close a case and move on. Not really a user-friendly platform.

Intacct has fundamentally changed the way we handle the financial operations of our company.

Pros: It is flexible. Custom fields and reports allow us to parse out the data we need to drive decision making.

Cons: The credit card module and multi-currency functionality. There are some limitations with respect billing back charges on the credit card and depositing funds to a foreign bank account.

Overall: Transparency (audit trail), speed of bringing new acquisitions on to our system of record, and custom reporting.

Intacct works very well for our needs.

Pros: We switched from Quickbooks and this software just blew it away. Intacct is cloud based and is much more efficient and effective for business use and produces good reports and integrations to 3rd party software.

Cons: There are odd restrictions with the software. It won't let you use bank accounts as GL accounts which may be for a good reason but works in our business.

Comments: My organization switched from a legacy accounting system to Intacct back in July. I have to say that the migration was more than painful- but all that pain was worth it! The system is awesome! The help feature alone in the system was worth the migration- it was impossible to figure things out on your own in our legacy system- required us to go to consultants when we had issues in processing. Intacct makes it very easy to troubleshoot and figure a lot of your processing issues out on your own. The Dashboards in the system are awesome as well! I am certain that there are more great things to come with this system given we have only been using it 6 months and have not fully explored the potential of the system.

Pros: Help feature, cloud-based (so no install on individual computers), the system is intuitive, dashboards!

Cons: The flow of certain information and how the reports are generated in different modules is not what I expected (based on how our legacy system worked). Customization of reports is not as easy as originally anticipated.

Recommendations to other buyers: This product is certainly worth your time to vet and explore if you are looking to move to a new system. The system is worth the money- just make sure you have the right consultants assisting you with the implementation.

Wish we would have switched from our legacy system sooner!

Comments: Great system if you are looking for something new. Dimension tagging in the system gives you visibility in areas you wouldn't have thought possible. You can use this system without having to use a separate reporting tool if necessary. So glad we made the switch!

Pros: System is user friendly, dashboard capabilities are excellent, help feature in the system is excellent and makes it easy to troubleshoot and fix errors without having to reach out to a 3rd party.

Cons: Custom reporting is not intuitive and time consuming. Customer support directly from the vendor could be better.

Pros: The software is user friendly and I like the feature of attaching documents. Really speeds up the process vs looking to files to get the needed info. Also I like the ability to issue ACH payments, this has been very helpful in speeding up our payable process. another great quality is the ability to look at all of our entities from one level.

Cons: I do not like that to access attachments on invoices you have to open the invoice entry first. It would be nice to have a filter that allows this from the bill list screen. I also do not like that there was a current update within Intacct or Microsoft where now i have to take additional steps to export GL to excel. It would also be helpful to have more than one report open at a time.

Recommendations to other buyers: I strongly recommend doing a trial with any new software and allowing those who will be using it to all try it out. Also through intacct we were given a sample company to work with for a few months allowing us to try out all the different features. This made us feel great at the beginning of the year when we started using the actual system. On top of the sample company we were provided training which allowed us to ask questions.

Comments: The system itself is not that hard to figure out, but going back and tracing entries you've made is not so easy. Correcting errors is next to impossible, resulting in a number of journal entries that would otherwise be unnecessary. As a software development firm, it is quite useful to have the Rev Rec templates in place. Again, correcting errors is a hassle. I also am less than enamored with their reports. For instance, it would be lovely if reports like A/R Aging had drill-down capabilities. And I have not found the Dashboards very useful; again, there are no drill-down capabilities. I have been working on the preview activity, have had issues getting on (mainly user-error)., and have always received a gracious and prompt response from their support people. It makes Rev Rec easy with the templates in place when the invoices are generated. The support people have always been very responsive to any inquiries I have sent them.

Pros: It is a fairly easy program to figure out if you have any kind of experience with programs such as QuickBooks, and there are added features that QB doesn't have, but it is much less forgiving with any clerical errors you may make.

Cons: It is difficult to go back and make changes to entries that have been made, especially after payment has been received on an invoice, for instance. I would like to be able to go back and make corrections to clerical errors that have been made, with

Pros: The AP module seems to work fairly well.

Cons: Modules don't work together or even with the same functionality. Reports of issues seem to always to go the "black hole" that is engineering, or are met with the response that it can't be fixed.

Comments: Exactly what we want - cloud-based; flexible; allows for growth; pay for only what you need. Also small up-front cost, so in the event it doesn't work for your company down the line, you don't have to worry much about walking away to implement something else. I sense that the Sage Intacct people "get this" and are very helpful...knowing that they need to earn our business every day.

Pros: Still in our implementation process - but system is very flexible, has great high-level reporting including multiple dashboards, while still allowing viewer to drill down to detail. Everyone we have worked for is accessible, knowledgeable and offers information on how other users have configured things.

Cons: Haven't seen any worth worrying about to this point. We haven't experienced all of the potential trouble-spots in similar products; e.g. integration with other systems and importing/exporting data. But we are still very comfortable as we move forward.

Cons: Intacct does require you to think about the structure of your data, whether you're new to your business or been running it for a while. The system expects you to operate within their rails and that can be a learning curve for some.

Comments: Intacct a mature, slick, and well-featured enterprise-class general ledger accounting platform. We have no trouble customizing and extending these workflows to create additional tasks. The "Performance Cards," which will appear at the top of a dashboard, are fully customizable with ease ann give complete drill down capability. They are our execs favorite aspect of the platform.

Another area where Intacct excels over most of the other apps I've used is in restating the books.For example, when reporting to the IRS, nonprofit entities often need to reorder expenses as Direct and Indirect. This depends on whether the expense is directly fund-related or a general overhead expense. Most vendors have separate nonprofit versions of their software that let you do this fairly easily, but Intacct makes it easy to do right out the standard box.

One major advantage of a SaaS app is that a true cloud-based app is accessible through a web browser. We use a Chrome browser with an iPad Air. I find the navigation extremely simple.

The Best of Breed approach is ideal for us. It allows us to pick and chose the ideal solution for each aspect of our organization and align with products that focus on that need, not a one size fits all solution that forces adoption of a product with holes.

Cons: It is easy to forget to tag dimensions.

Overall: Intacct has made my job much easier. Our company used to use Quickbooks and we will never go back. Intacct is updated in real time, and multiple users can access the same information at once. Intacct allows fully custom financial reports suited for your business.

Recommendations to other buyers: User-friendly and support is amazing.

Best decision we made, should have done this sooner.

Comments: I've been using the Intacct system for over a year to enter timesheets and expense reports and run financial reports. I've also obtained some familiarity with the invoicing capabilities. Overall, I find it easy to use, and am thrilled with its flexibility in creating program and project codes and customizing reports. The system I used prior to Intacct was not intuitive, but when I transferred to using Intacct, I quickly caught on and have had no problems obtaining the information that I need - in the format that I need it. My company takes advantage of the ability to create hierarchies in programs/projects, as well as the ability to customize reports to streamline certain project management-related tasks. I also appreciate that it is cloud based, although this seems to lead to a few quirks in time entry (small delays in loading task field options). The system I used previously only permitted a certain number of users at any one time, but I'm able to keep Intacct open on my computer all day long, and can enter time or expenses as they're incurred, and can run reports without waiting for software to load (or for people to log off).

Pros: Flexibility, cloud-based, easy to use

Cons: Occasionally slow to load a few field options, some quirks with scrolling in report request windows

Set up was easy, Vendor very experienced and will never let you fail.

Comments: For our small finance team, this is a perfect product.

Pros: Simplicity of set up and assistance from vendor was above and beyond what our team excepted - well worth having them onsite for final training and overall reporting and advanced feature overview.

Cons: Can not always find what I need on the knowledge base, some area's are new on based on the Beta version, however there are still area's that appear to be older and not as easy to navigate.

Comments: Whatever industry you are in, suggest to check out this product and compare to others. You'll find this to be very competitive on all front.

Pros: Sage Intacct is a great tool that comes with a huge assortment of functions within the core application along with integration capabilities all while having great performance and uptime. The satisfaction around this project is second to none.

Cons: It is fairly new to the SMB market and still gaining mainstream traction due to increased functionality. It doesn't fit everyone however, they are becoming less and less. It can be a bit expensive if have many users.

Comments: Intacct is an enterprise level general ledger accounting software. It has many features which are enough for most SMBs. Nevertheless, it needs to fix some minor issues to carry the user experience further on the positive side.

Pros: A friendly User Interface. Excellent dashboard with stats. Simple and elegant navigation. Very intuitive custom reporting functionality. No need of any 3rd party support for fixing errors.

Cons: Not the most powerful accounting software. Unconventional Chart of account approach. Sometimes the Reporting module might get difficult to manage.

Pros: Very easy to navigate, and ensure that checks and credit card transactions are accounted for. Managing budgets, providing reports on spending to date, Intacct has made our accounting policies much simpler and easier to understand

Pros: Intacct does everything I need it to. I use it for creating patient invoices and tracking expenses. I can run the packaged reports or I can develop my own. You can create different levels of permissions for users. Intacct can do so much. I feel I am just beginning to scratch the surface. Customer services and implementation has been great. Intacct has a lot of facets to it and I would not be able to utilize as much as I can already if it had not been for their patient customer support staff.

Cons: Intacct can be a little overwhelming to implement, but any new accounting software would be. Any difficulties I had were canceled out by their amazing customer service.

On a basic level, it gets the job done. But not a great experience to use.

Pros: This isn't exactly a product category that has raving fans... What Intacct has done well for us is digitizing a previously paper driven process. In that way, it's helped our workflow a ton and has helped us expedite our financial approves as an organization.

Cons: They've made a few user interface updates recently, but they are still seriously lagging behind. The way everything is organized is not intuitive. The feature list looks pretty impressive, but the ease of use of those features has been a nightmare.

Comments: My organization implemented Intacct about 6 months ago. I am an occasional user (0-5 times per month) For the first few months, every time I needed to log on I encountered some sort of issue with my username, password, etc. (e.g. transitioning to 2 factor authentication). Recently my log-ins have been fine, but I am still hearing comments from other employees that they are not receiving notification emails, can't log on, and so forth. It's really annoying that the system is unable to accept multiple Reporting Units for one purchase requisition.

Pros: *Website is visually appealing *Better for the environment vs. paper system

Cons: *Repeated issues with logging on in the first few months *Not flexible enough to adapt to needs of organization

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't believe everything you hear about the product before you purchase.

Pros: many options. It does AP, AR, and tax information. perfect for accounting needs. The 1099 section was very helpful.

Comments: My company uses Intacct as a General Ledger, and we pass inventory transactions through the Inventory module only for monthly reconciliation. There really aren't any built-in Inventory and Purchasing management functions, just custom reporting/dashboards available. For the price, the program allows our mid-size company to keep the finance and accounting stuff together, but it's kind of clumsy.

Pros: I do like the GUI interface.

Cons: The quarterly release updates always seem to cause some kind of regression unrelated to the newly releasing functionality. It takes my company time and energy to validate exactly what is wrong and test multiple scenarios before going to Intacct for answers, and they always seem to be totally unaware of the issue.

Comments: My company switched from Quickbooks to Intacct in March 2013. Intacct has greatly improved our efficiency and accuracy. We did quite a bit of customization to make it work the way we wanted, but now have the ability to view customer orders in detail, learn which lines have been ordered, received, invoiced as well as lines that are waiting to ship and invoice. On the purchasing side we can view the PO's for these orders and follow up accordingly if items are backordered. We also have a third-party expense reporting system and can upload approved expense reports into Intacct for payment. Intacct is linked to Salesforce and feeds customer transactions back to Salesforce so our A/E's have visibility as to where customer orders stand and can see customer's order histories.

Pros: Great reporting, many customizable fields, customized fields can be pulled into reports.

Cons: Total amount of customer order and total PO amount doesn't show on respective list view screens - must drill into transaction to get that info.

While I believe Intacct has potential it is currently lacking in ease of use.

Pros: I appreciate how I can easily manage all of my bank reconciliation and general ledger needs on one website. It incorporates many of the features I need and allows me to input manual payments easily. My favorite feature is how it remembers my transactions so if I have a frequent vendor I can duplicate payments and edit as needed.

Cons: I find the software difficult to use. It seems like there are lots of unnecessary steps to accomplish what I need within the software. I am not a fan of how I have to void transactions completely if I make a mistake instead of editing it.

Pros: It's pretty easy to use and more robust than Quickbooks.

Cons: The tech support. I wish you could just dial a number and get an answer. You always have to put in a ticket, which is time consuming.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would actually recommend that you ensure all of your current processes can be handled by Intacct without them having them customize the modules in order for you to use them.

Comments: We have used Intacct for about 2 years and it is good. We have been able to custom build reports and improve our budget process. There are a few things we would like to see changed or modified and few features that we would love to have added. Overall it is pretty easy to use. We currently use Intacct for all of our accounting needs. Pros: The customizing of reports is great. The simplicity is nice and it's easy to navigate around and for the most part pretty easy to train on.

Pros: The simplicity of customizing reports is good. It is fairly easy to navigate and for the most part it was easy training our staff to use it.

Cons: There are few items that we would love to have added which include the ability to change vendor ID's, locations ID's, etc, and the ability to submit a requisition for multiple departments when using transaction department for approvals.

Pros: I had been scrambling to try to find an accounting software that was both functional for myself but also easy to understand for the rest of the office. For the price, I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised by its user interface and features. It was JUST the right amount of product for our small business.

Cons: I hope in future versions of this product we can pack in a few more features that makes it easier to send financial reports. I usually just take a screenshot then email it.

Pros: Sage Intacct is very adaptable as it has a lot of integrations that we really need. Unlike other ERP systems, Sage Intacct ensures easy navigation throughout the system. It has a simple UI and its easy for new users to get used to the system. The application enables contact management, revenue recognition, inventory management and financial management. It helps in reducing cycle times and improves transparency by accurate monitoring of costs and expenses. The dashboard is a good feature where we get to display all the required data in a single place. Very useful to get all required data just before going to conferences and attending a meeting with the higher-ups.

Cons: We encounter quite a lot of formatting issues. The absence of advanced automation. A few functions are restricted in scope. The import feature has so many issues.

Comments: We are a global company with 5 different sub-companies and we needed a better solution than Quickbooks for consolidations and multiple currencies. We went through a review process of several vendors and thought Intacct was the right solution. After a very painful 2-year implementation, we are up and running. There are many pluses to the system but we also lost basic functionality that we had in Quickbooks which created more work instead of staying streamlined. We have been live for 6 months.

Pros: The reporting is usable once the configurations and parameters are set up properly.

Cons: Requires quite a bit of work to get off the ground. Customization of templates requires duplication if using order entry and accounts receivable (i.e. a different template with different codes for an invoice).

Intacct is relatively easy to use and saved us time and money!

Pros: Intacct has provided our organization with a paperless accounting system that allows us to approve transactions and sign checks from mobile devices, allows budget managers to keep up with their budget vs actual reports on a daily basis just by viewing their dashboards, and has saved us time and money in the process. Their customer support has been good to work with and regular software updates have brought many improvements.

Cons: The reporting feature is a bit cumbersome to set up initially and a bit hard to maintain.

Recommendations to other buyers: We have really liked the cloud-based approach to this software. It makes software maintenance and storage a thing of the past. It seems to me that Intacct could work for almost any organization.

Very good experience with the software's ease of use and intuitive functionality.

Pros: I was able to learn the software with very little training. Most of my learning resulted from actually using the software and playing around with it. It is very intuitive.

Cons: While I love the report/query writer (I'm speaking of the 'build from scratch' function, not the Report Writer function) I found it not as easy to use as the other aspects of the software. It seems to offer a lot of power, but I was not able to use it.

Overall: Intacct is a full featured accounting package having modules for revenue recognition, fixed assets, Salesforce Integration, authorize.net integration, expensify integration, payment approvals and processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and much more. The report writer is robust. Perhaps the best feature is that it has dimensions that allow you to put information on so many different levels, which gives you comprehensive visibility into the finances of your organization. The dashboards are amazing as well. I would put this in the category for a mature business. Overall, I think its over priced and not as flexible as other software.

Comments: I have used Intacct for over 6 years and it is great. We have a great team and have been able to custom build reports or make requests on what we would like to see. There are a few things I would like to see updated or modified but overall it is a pretty easy website to use. Comments: We have only recently moved to the Intacct system but is has improved efficiency over our previous system. I mainly use it for time and expenses so I have not worked with it on the back end, but it has made adding time and expenses much easier. Adding billable time for a client is streamlined since I can add multiple days easily to one workweek. Adding reoccurring entries has also been easier since it is pretty much copy and paste now. Overall, it has been an improvement over our last system.

Pros: Easy to use, straight forward, easy to use interface.

Cons: Expenses are easy to add but a little cumbersome due to the number of fields. This may be a requirement on the back-end. Nothing that is a deal breaker, more of an annoyance.
