Comments: Would like to see the Mobile App become more robust with accepting tax changes, direct deposit changes, allowing life events and open enrollment functionality. Educate long time customers and explain the benefits for purchasing the additional packages that are available. Especially for customers who are in the target range of 500 to 5000 employees. We have been a customer since 1999 and each year we discover new things that could have saved time if we had a different packages purchased. We are now obtaining quotes to see what the cost would be to implement the additional packages. We also have a disconnect between Ultipro and a current ERP software use on our manufacturing floor. In brainstorming how to connect the 2 with an import/export we are realizing that there is a timing delay as to when the employee needs to be in our ERP system and when they get pushed into Ultipro Core.

Pros: Having the product in the cloud and having a robust system allows us the "Sky is the Limit" mentality for how we are able to use Ultimate Software. Also having the technology advantage to be able to offer employees a Mobile App at no cost. Having the team approach for our Customer Service needs, our Account Manager is available, but when case are needing attention other account managers take case to increase priority.

Cons: The functionality between the legacy product of Back Office and Web Based. There are some things I can do in back office that the web does not offer and some of the history is not shown in Web when comparing to Back Office. We do not own all pieces of the software and seem to struggle with some of the automation pieces that could be better. We are looking into costs, but that has been the biggest challenge from our business.

Comments: We launched with UltiPro a year and a half ago. The implementation team was very knowledgeable of the product and services offered. They were able to come to the house on many occasions for hands-on training prior to the launch. We also traveled to an On-Site Class near us. These were great to be able to talk back and forth through issues you had been experiencing. I recommend taking notes for questions you may have before going. In the Learning Center Online, there is an abundance of course and previously recorded webcasts for you to learn from. The levels range from the beginner to more complex detailed positions. The Security-Based features are wonderful for companies with multiple subsidiaries. The reporting has many standard reports built for you. It also has the ability for you as a customer to build unique reports to fit your companies' needs. Onboarding has been a way for us to eliminate a lot of paperwork and scanning of policies and documents. It has taken a while to get in groove with so many locations hiring all our seasonal employees at the same time. However, in the end this is saving enormous amounts of time.

Pros: Security-based roles are great for top down management. Payroll processing is a lot faster. We have completely moved away from paper checks. The Community Groups and Knowledge Hours are a great tool to have to continually learn from other customers on how they are using the same programs in their company. Many customers are very quick to respond to simple or complex questions. UltiPro has an extensive collection of resource materials that are searchable to help quickly. In the beginning, the Quick Tour videos were a life saver. You learn so much information at once that you don't retain it all. These videos are brief and to the point. they are housed on each screen that it pertains to which is wonderful. Also, every screen has a "Things" I can do here. Another good tool when learning where to locate all of the information.

Cons: For departments housing only human resource and payroll employees, the reporting is a very slow process to learn. While there are many courses offered, majority of which are online which is more difficult during the initial transition. The Rapid Response is not so rapid. You call in to log a case and wait for someone to call you back. Unless you are completely locked out of production, you could be waiting a long time for a return call. Logging a case on the website is not much faster. However there you are able to fully describe your issue and attach any documents needed to be examined.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are considering using the service of UltiPro I would definitely recommend you to pay to have your essential reports be custom built for you before launching. This will give you time to study those, take classes and participate in discussions in order to better learn how to locate what you need for your reports. It will require an individual with a report writing background. Most all of your reports work off of building expressions. Prior to the launch, I would highly recommend an in-house launch team that is the most proficient with UltiPro and able to help others internally.

Comments: We began with UltiPro at the end of this summer, going from an antiquated HRIS system to what we (correctly) thought would be a significant upgrade. And while the cost does reflect that; and it is an upgrade; it has been an extremely rough road getting there. Technical issues, the amount of data required (most of it being a manual entry, in part to our antiquated system we were on before) and the level of depth you will go into building this system is outrageous. Each "silo" was assigned a technical SME who helped us build the program. Everything is incredibly customizable and easy to change once it is set up.

Pros: Assigned help along the way, so you knew who your person was. You can build a system to your liking. Makes some functionalities very easy, like building out an "opportunity" or requisition. The system has some great possibilities and can support a lot of different functions through customizable reports. A lot of integrations into external vendor systems that make background checks, job posting, benefits, 401K very easy. Once it is BUILT, I can see how easy it will be to use.

Cons: Each "silo" of the UltiPro function is usually created by that department - recruiting builds out recruiting and onboarding, payroll builds payroll, TD builds performance, etc. Problem is that WE, the builders, don't usually know how the other team will build their system so often times they don't talk well. You build it over a series of meetings with your SME, with can make it disjointed to build. There is a different SME for each function, so if I want to build a report that pulls from my onboarding module, I have to talk to a different SME because the onboarding SME doesn't know Business Intelligence SME. Building it is a second full-time job for your team. We had to build out own training for our employees on how to use the system because each system is so customizable, you won't have a packaged training you can plop in front of your employees.

Recommendations to other buyers: Get help during the build phase. You will have so many homework assignments to complete, we pulled in two contractors and I don't know how we cold have done it without them. Have team meetings with your own internal team to discuss how you are building your module. Get a strong Project Manager to divide out the duties you will have, like the classes you will have to take and the time you will invest into building the modules. It is intense.

Unless you're willing to fight, choose a different product

Comments: Be skeptical of everything. There's a reason why I get offered more sporting event tickets, private movie screenings, and various other events from UltiPro, than I receive from any other vendor. They know they're awful and they try to make it up to you by schmoozing so you give them a good reference when a potential client wants to reach out. I have declined 95% of their invitations because not only are they in the middle of a workday, my workload has increased due to project managing their work. Have a forensic attorney read your agreement and no matter what UltiPro says, they will negotiate. Make sure every single detail is in your agreement or you will absolutely be screwed post-live. UltiPro will tell you they do not include service level agreements in their contracts and that is not true. They will hold you to the agreement only when it suits them but definitely not when it screws the customer.

Pros: People get paid, the reports are great, managers find it easy to use, rapid response folks are helpful in a pinch, and it's nice the same service rep stays with you from case opening to close.

Cons: The customer is always wrong, you will pay for EVERYTHING, don't count on your original sales agreement to actually hold up, you will need to beg to change your Customer Relationship Manager at least once (don't let them tell you it's not an option), implementation is at least 100x more difficult and time consuming than the salespeople claim it will be, developing interface files with your vendors will take 6 months and you will project manage the work, and you will be seriously oversold on how fabulous this product is...which is basically what every payroll platform will do but these salespeople seemed more extra than others.

Pros: Been using this site now for our clocking in and out at work for 5+ years.
Very easy to use. Site has never been down, always up and works.
The site is speedy to navigate.
Allows me to easily and quickly log in and out.
Allows me to pick easily pick my insurance every year and has all the information I need on the site.
Allows me to quickly get a brief overview how many sick/personal/vacation days I have and will earn.
Can hop in and request days off very easily and then view a yearly calendar to see what I have already added in the future and the past.
We also use this for our performance reviews. Not a fan of those but the site makes it work OK.
Site times out at 30 minutes and it gives you a countdown before it gets there, so it makes it easy for me to see when to clock back in for lunch.
I can also view my paycheck stubs here.
It is very nice to have access to all of this in one location.
I also hear it integrates with AD credentials but we have not implemented that.
I have used other HR websites such as Kronos and this one is so much easier to use.

Cons: Honestly I cannot think of anything negative to say about the website. I have never had a problem with it.

Overall: Allows me to view all my HR information all in one location.

Pros: What I like most about UltiPro is that we had the opportunity to combine several systems into one program when we implemented the product. I like that the employee has "self-service" access to their own information as it reduces a number if questions to our HR Team. I would also say the previous account manager we have had as well as the OE consultant we have used have been great. Very knowledgeable and responsive. I like they are willing to share what they see other clients of theirs do and they share that knowledge with us. Everyone is generally very nice!

Cons: What I like least about this product and vendor is that we are told all the time to just call when we have questions, but there are so many people who are set up to "service" us we are not really sure who to go to and when. As a result, I've experienced having to share feedback with someone I don't really thing should hear it but I don't know who else to go to. I also struggle with the fact that you hire a lot of technology people but some don't have any understanding of HR. In several instances we have had to explain and re-explain how our company benefits are set up and even then they struggled to understand how benefits work. I also think you should provide to your employees better understanding how why things are the way they are. I have heard many times at the sessions this week, "I'm not sure why that is, it just is."

Recommendations to other buyers: Ask ALOT of questions. Think long and hard about what you have currently and how it will be different with UltiPro. When in doubt ask, "how do your other clients handle this?"

Comments: They have come a long way over the last 4 years but have a long way to go. They put more emphasis on selling you a system than they do on retaining clients. Beware of bait and switch promises.

Pros: A full suite of HRIS Modules All the basic features you want to see in an HRIS system. Their report writer is good if you know cognos. Time management is very comprehensive and has a good support time.

Cons: Not all modules are created equal. There are better offerings in benefits, recruiting, talent management, succession planning, and compensation management. The quality of the support time depends on the quality of your account manager. No two are alike. At times not very helpful or familiar with their own product. Customer support may sound like they are confident in directing you with your issue but may know less than the client. Some modules do not all work using the same database and have to sync (UTM>Payroll>Payment Management). Administration of talent management is terrible. Recruiting does not have full features and is still evolving. Succession and LMS are new and not robust. Operates like a large robot company that is not able to respond to clients in a proactive way.

Pros: I like the fact that we are able to customize and build the software package to our needs. The software has some amazing functionality that work well for our business. I like the vendor because the value of the company being "people first" shows in the way they care for their employees. I think that filters down to the customers.

Cons: I would like Ultimate to finish things that need to be corrected that are known system flaws before they move on to new technology. It would be comforting to know as the system administrator that the system processed right from beginning to end before all the other "cool" features come out. Also, I wish the project focus was for system users first and then the employee user. Example, they listened to customers when we asked for the ability to change labels. That is great and the employee users are happy about that. But then they stopped the project without thinking what the system user would need. It is simple when you think about it. Everything that goes into Ulti - we have to report on. So that label project should have included those label changes in BI. Now the reports and the system will not match. Can you imagine having your payroll staff turn over and then trying to run a report based on names you don't have in system because the staff before you used the label edit feature? Nightmare.

Recommendations to other buyers: Ask about skill level of staffing needed to run this software and also needed for implementation. The ability to customize is great, but someone has to be able to support it.

Pros: Ultipro has the type of versatility and customization features needed for small and large companies alike. It's highly customizable so that you can use it for all of your HRIS needs. What I like most about Ultipro is the integration across multiple facets. Your employees' files are stored electronically and the permissions you give the employees allow you to use the system to track and approve changes to position, title, pay, benefits and employees can change their address and names, all electronically.

Cons: Ultipro's customer service is probably the worst feature as getting anything changed or having to troubleshoot issues can take more time than you have, especially within a large corporation.

Pros: We have been using Ultipro successfully in cloud for over 12 years. -We recently started using onboarding and conditional workflow approvals and have been able to go almost 100% paperless. -We have been able to leverage Employee Self Service(via SSO) and modules such Open Enrollment and Life Event to streamline employee benefit elections -Cognos Analytics, is an extremely powerful business intelligence reporting tool that allows us to schedule reports, burst information and set alerts -We were able to use Ultipro's auto-population feature to generate 1095's for ACA Compliance

Cons: -You have a dedicated support rep, but when needed the quality of the Rapid Response support channel can be hit or miss -As a client who has been Ultimate Software for many years, we had to customize a lot to achieve what we wanted, but as new releases come out many of these customs are no longer necessary. Unfortunately, unwinding some of these customs to replace with new core functionality can be a challenge

Pros: There is some interesting core functionality but, overall, the product isn't very user-friendly or intuitive, compared to social media tools and enterprise level software like Workday. There are a lot of software limitations as it appears that the tool has multiple separate modules that don't necessarily communicate well with each other, nor is the implementation team familiar with how to best optimize each tool. If you're looking for a basic HR database, where folks input or enter data manually, this might be for you. If you're looking for a robust and intelligent system that can be customized to adapt to employees' needs, this likely isn't the right fit.

Cons: The implementation team and support is poor to say the least. Rather than taking a solution-focused approach, where they could help you best utilize the tool and maximize its impact, they simply have you answer a laundry list of questions and they program the tool based on your answers. In my experience, the tool is not incredibly easy to use, not very flexible and, should you need to make modifications, you'll be struggling to do so with the implementation/service team.

Overall: It works well as a database when your enter data into it and it doesn't do much more.

Pros: ESS is always a pro; employees like to be able to access their pay statements and the system seemed sufficient for that.

Cons: The reporting capabilities of this software are archaic. Gathering employee personal or benefit information should be as easy as a couple of clicks but in Ultipro you have to go through BI and try to figure out how to build a report. The pre-built reports never had all of the information you needed and the fact that everything downloads in PDF is terrible.

Comments: Ultimate has been a good business partner. They listen to our feedback and truly partner with us in our business initiatives; even if the answer is no they work with us to find other alternatives to help us achieve our business goal.

Pros: We most like the Business Intelligence reporting and ease of navigation throughout the product. We like the ability to configure fields and screens to meet our specific needs. We are very pleased with the ability to have a paperless onboarding experience for our new hires and also configure the onboarding process to meet our business needs. We also appreciate the ability to provide feedback on product enhancements and see that Ultimate listens and responds to that feedback.

Cons: We would like the enhancements requested to come a little quicker to market, but understand some of these enhancements do take time. We would like to see a more consistent response time in Customer Service.

Pros: Ultimate does a good job of partnering with us on initiatives and larger projects. In the early days after we implemented, we had major issues with application stability and there were some members of the Ultimate team that really saved the day. The payroll process is strong, though we had to build a number of custom components to enable our pay calculations to work correctly.

Cons: We have struggled at times to get Ultimate to recognize some fairly significant issues that have impacted our business. When our environment encounters performance issues, we have a hard time getting support and the rest of the team to recognize what's happening. We have also struggled to get Workflow working properly in certain instances-- a combination of feature gaps and our own configurations not being quite right. Performance Management needs a lot of help-- we gave the team a lot of feedback about some issues we encountered with the features. Ultimate is growing and we understand the challenges that introduces but we also have experienced the 'revolving door' of support reps and relationship executives. So far, our current Exec Relationship person is demonstrating that he can be effective.

Recommendations to other buyers: Account Management is the key to having a good experience with the system. Lots of good development happening around integrations, APIs, and web services.

Pros: I like the various functions that Ultipro is capable of. From payroll, Time clock and time off control, keeping a database of employees positions, salaries, name, address, email address, PTO and Personal Day bank and actual time clock. There is an applicant tracking system but we don't use it at this point.

Cons: There is a lack of support from the Ultimate software team. Any requests for service take an inordinate length of time. (months). The service is then not done correctly. We had file feeds giving our 3rd party providers wrong dates of employment, number of hours worked incorrectly. So we had to manually update this provider with the correct information. This delayed our employees getting approved for Family Medical Leave Act and Short Term Disability. When contactly Ultimate, they were not accommodating in getting the file feeds corrected, even though it was their fault. The initial launch of Ultipro was rough as well. Wrong data and mistakes in the files with Ultimate Software Team unaccommodating.

Overall: Access to all employees HR files

Not worth the cost as features do not function as promised and support does not fix in a timely manner, if at all

Comments: If it was a lower cost option it would be great, but paying more for a buggy, non-intuitive interface does not make sense

Pros: The interface looks nice and simple to use. Lots of easy access to functions, though to get the actual information is a little tricky and not as intuitive as you would think. LOTS of features, but unless you have an army of people to utilize them, they will just be wasted money. Web access is stable. Time keeping is very good for approval, but lacks a lot of basic rules for rounding.

Cons: Lots of errors encountered during routine things like vacation. Even after a customer support call, it was not resolved - leaving a pending vacation request in limbo that is a year old. Even finding basic information - like how many vacation days does a person have left is a cumbersome process, or even how many they used. It's a hidden menu that makes no sense. The biggest con is that it looks like it should be a lower cost software, but ends up costing more than ADP without the reliability or expertise

Pros: As a user - The categories are pretty easy to find - and labeled well so that you know what you're going to find under each category. You can add Favorites - so places that you go frequently, so that you don't have to drill into the categories to get to them. I'm also an administrator of certain data - so being able to take care of things for other staff is also easy and manageable as well. You can even get notifications that what you do is taken care of as a user and as an administrator.

Cons: There is one limitation to the product that I notice and deal with - it is for me the limitation of field length (amount of characters per field). You have to be creative when you're setting up items in dropdown lists for staff to be able to choose from and still be able to push across what they're choosing.

Pros: There are so many modules to Ultimate that we haven't even had the opportunity or time to fully implement yet! We keep hearing about something we haven't learned about yet and are excited to ask questions and find out where we can put that module in our roll out schedule!

Cons: I was excited (and very relieved) to hear about the structure changes that recently occurred within the Ultimate staff. When we have a problem, we don't necessarily have time to wait for our request to be "kicked up" to second tier or third tier. Especially when we're "in the weeds" processing a payroll. Putting thru a case doesn't necessarily mean we're going to hear from someone soon enough to get our payroll run completed on time. Having a "no tier" system is a much better way to handle these issues.

Recommendations to other buyers: My biggest recommendation is to be ready to be overwhelmed with all the available modules Ultimate has in their suite. Also - be fully cognizant this is a system YOU will be setting up ... in it's entirety ... and you will need to have staff members knowledgeable on the various components you wish to implement. EX: If you have a very complex taxation situation (multi-tax employees), you will want to have a tax specialist on your team. A good third party company to help you implement AND continue on in a consulting environment would be the next best thing.

Comments: Ultipro meets all our needs and then some. The customer service we experience from this company cannot be compared. Our CSR is an amazing person and if she cannot fix something, she finds someone who can. Timely. With a great attitude. I have never found that kind of support with any other company I worked with. If a payroll problem crops up, they have a dedicated line for that, realizing payroll is very deadline driven.

Pros: Ease of use, tons of virtual training available, top notch customer service, customization available. Ease of use for employees. Import and Export integration. Reports readily available both in Ultipro Web and Cognos. Report writing ability available. Dashboards available. SSO configurable. Integrated Tax Setup.

Cons: We are a large enterprise, some of the modules are for smaller customers. Tax recon can be a bit cumbersome, but manageable.

Comments: Don't buy this software or before you do as an employer you must try it from the employees prospective. If you care about your employees you won't subject them to this.

Pros: I'm sure it is great for my employer saving our company tons of money. Everything is in one place pay stubs, and vacation requests.

Cons: It is the most user unfriendly software I have used in along time. It's hard to believe this was made in the 21st century. The employee (me) is required to use a spreadsheet similar to ms excel it is tedious and time consuming each time I log in I spend 15 minutes for each day. That becomes very time consuming I am putting 2 hours extra per week just to input my time. Asking for time off usually speaking to humans anyway. I'm not comprehending the benefit of this system. Everyone in our office sees it as a nuisance.

Comments: Overall UltiPro is a superb product that has many different modules to meet the demands of growing companies. From payroll, time and attendance, and benefit administration, UltiPro can help lead the way to drive efficiency and promote a better experience for administrators and employees.

Pros: The ease of which one can use UltiPro is second to none! The user experience is easy to navigate and they are constantly adding new features. The extensive modules that are available under the Human Capital Management umbrella like benefits, applicant tracking, time and attendance, compensation management, and more! Excellent customer service 24/7.

Cons: The mobile app integration and functionality needs some work, mainly with push notifications. The ability to make global or batch changes on groups of employees is very difficult, if not impossible. It can be difficult to understand the reporting features, you must build your own as the provided template reports just don't cut it.

Comments: Good solution for a large organization with ample IT and HR resources on tap

Pros: Overall the system is quite robust and able to perform all aspects of Human Resources and Payroll. The best way to benefit from the robust database is to have an in-house HRIS analyst that focus' his/her time on developing and building the system. Some modules are not user friendly nor intuitive.

Cons: Service requests are completed slowly. Fees add up quickly for service requests that require added programming. Sometimes wait over 6 weeks just to get a service/project person assigned. Variety of different groups within Ultimate focusing on different areas of the system and many times the groups don't speak or take the time to understand all sides - feels like getting the run around.

Comments: The UltiPro product that Ultimate Software has provided us is great. Our HR department is able to provide numerous departments real-time and historic reports in minutes. We can schedule reports as well so that everyone has what they need every moment of the day. The product has grown with us as we have grown as a Firm.

Pros: Reporting; All in one solution including Payroll, Performance Management, Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefits; UltiPro listens to customers for changes to the software and puts it into its quarterly updates; cloud based; Customer service availability and response; mobile application; ease of use for administrators and end users; training is free.

Cons: There is nothing that I can really think of at this time. UltiPro has so many positive attributes and there just not any negative.

Pros: UltiPro is an easy to use Software that provides me with easy access to all work related information. The mobile application is great when I am on the go and need to get access to a quick piece of information. It allows me to view all my tax information as well as insurance information. It allows me to export W2 and W4 information when doing my taxes and does so in an easy way.

Cons: I would say the biggest Con for the software is the mobile app does have some missing features of that compared to the PC software. On the mobile app I am not able to access some features that normally I would be able to. Other than that I do not have many Cons for this software if anymore at all.

Overall: I am able to keep track of my personal work information in one convenient software and mobile app. It allows me to view my payment history, my PTO statuses and many other things. I like being able to view all this information in one easy to use software.

Pros: Unfortunately I haven't found anything that I like about the product. The functionality is poor with respect to FLSA, reporting totals, customer service, implementation, module coordination, and case management.

Cons: No follow through to root cause of issues. No engagement from higher levels to make the product work the way it was sold. No real integration between Core and UTM. No case coordination between Core and UTM. Unrealized promises to make the product work. No ability to pull true worked hours when using FLSA, Shift Diff, or other premium pay. Poor case handling; more desire to close cases than to resolve the problem for the customer. No follow through on promises to review system. Poor handling of PTO expression (took three years and still not quite right), as well as CT sick pay and accrual balances. More interest in screen views than functionality with upgrades. Upgrades not tested correctly so software breaks. Software breaks not told to customers.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have a complicated payroll model, use FLSA or any premium pay, need a PTO expression, deal with Sick Pay laws, have multiple checks that take garnishments, or anything more than just a simple 40 hour salaried payroll, this isn't the product for you!

Pros: The product could be tailored to suit a variety of needs, however; extensive training was required in order to accomplish any significant modifications.

Cons: This product was sold to us as a "Completely Web-based" product. It wasn't. The "Back office" which wasn't mentioned at all in the sales presentation, required a citrix connection to Ultimate's mainframes. Other, numerous logins were also required. The product appeared to be in a beta stage and yet was marketed as fully functional. Combine this with their inexperienced support team which performed programming in our production environment and lacked any degree of responsiveness, and what we were left with was 3 years of frustration and overall profound dissatisfaction.

Comments: Overall, Ultipro is a pretty solid software and it is an extremely vital tool that adds great value to companies looking for payroll and other Human resources solutions.

Pros: Ultipro does a great job to not only provide solutions for a company's payroll but is an extremely helpful and intuitive tool for managing employee benefits and showing pay history, PTO balances, tax forms all in one place.

Cons: One of the downsides of Ultipro is that it sometimes the way it is configured in such that the information it is providing is not real time and is contingent on when the time sheets are actually posted to the accounting system. An employee does not have the ability to check real time pay history or tax information unless that period is completely processed.

Pros: The UltiPro user interface is intuitive,easily customizable ,easy to navigate and i have been impressed with how UltiPro has continuously improved over the years ,with new features being added regularly. UltiPro has been superb for my team as a tool for time keeping.
Cognos analytic is a stand out tool on UltiPro , and simplifies the process of reporting on our payroll. I like the standardized report ,and the freedom to edit the names and modify them to fit our business need is priceless.

Cons: Ultipro's workflows are very limited . I will like the user interface remodeled in a way that we are able to view the "compensation-history" from one page , for every staff in the organization.

Comments: Pacer International, Inc. has been disappointed in the functionality of the system. The programming is lacking in real HR realities and feels as though the system only functions from a payroll perspective. Just look at your tier one and tier two support people; they are all payroll certified with no real understanding of HR processes or fundamentals. None of the delivered reports on OT even give you the value of OT costs. Which is definitely a payroll mindset, but is lacking. Use it or lose vacation policies cannot be accomplished because the system only looks at vacation policies from the payroll perspective. If you take time in one year, and take time in another in the same pay period, the system cannot handle negative balances (when vacation can be taken prior to earning). The amount of time and effort it took to realize the issues (which was finally discovered by Pacer) was ridiculous; now meaning that at the end of the year the customer has to find the workaround to the problem. The benefits side of the system is lacking too; it only follows payroll/deduction logic, and is not based on typical policy design in the industry. For instance, maximum supplement life insurance for a spouse is typically a portion of the employees. However, the system allows the employee to elect more for their spouse than the employee's life insurance coverage, not following the insurance plan design. Thinking again, only from the payroll side of the house - mainly centered on deductions. Our implementation wasn't ideal. The person supporting us is no longer with Ultimate, but she caused more problems and failed to educate us that we are still suffering from improper set up one year later. We often find that while something is working fine, periodically it will not work anymore, only to learn that someone at Ultimate made a change without our knowledge or approval. This is difficult, especially on the payroll side. Ultimate has a decent start on developing a good system, but the mindset is too payroll centric and fails to deliver on the Human Resource side.

Pros: We didn't have an HRIS system at all and had over 1,000 employees. Getting a system is better than nothing. We are paperless in the onboarding of new employees which has saved me a lot of tracking down of I9s like we used to have to do. The onboarding has been a great asset for new hires - they can complete all policy forms before starting as well as complete direct deposit, I9, W4 info. That has been very beneficial and new hires say that impressed them!

Cons: There are a lot of times where E-Verify doesn't work with UltiPro so I have to remember to go back when it is working to process a new hire in E-Verify. I have a hard time finding specific information in Core when looking for it. It just seems like the info can be hard to find. There are also a lot of steps to save info. You have to make sure to hit save over and over for the change to take place

Pros: The support people are generally nice and polite.

Cons: First, the Workplace product (for organizations with less than 1,000 employees) is very, very different from the Enterprise version. The functionality is much less than the larger system, and this was not explained to us in the sales process. Second, this product is not the fully integrated HRIS solution we expected. The time management portion is a completely separate system, which has many issues and is not user-friendly. The worst part about it not being an integrated solution is that no one at Ultimate seems to understand how the system works end-to-end. The time management piece is supported by a completely separate team. The two teams have little understanding of how setups in each system impact each other. Second, our implementation was so poorly done that we continue to have issues relating to implementation nine months after going live. We are back to having weekly support calls because as soon as one thing is fixed, two more things go wrong. It takes months to get any issues resolved. Third, despite ongoing months of issues, including but not limited to our payroll files not going through to direct deposit, there has been no significant effort on behalf of Ultimate's senior leadership to address our issues. We have been assigned various account managers but they do not have the resources or knowledge to fix what are fundamental issues with the product and the organization.

Recommendations to other buyers: Definitely look at other products. If you do decide to go with Ultimate Software, ask about your implementation team's experience. Do not let them push you into an implementation of shorter than six months (preferably longer, like 7-9 months).

Pros: 1. I find Ultipro to be very user friendly for both admins and our employees. 2. The ability to import one time earnings into the payroll gateway saves a ton of time. 3. By having Ulitpro file our taxes for us, we are able to save time. 4. Their customer service is amazing. When something is urgent, I get it resolved within an hour, at most.

Cons: 1. I feel Ultimate time management feels not quite as user friendly as core. i'm excited to see the changes for the release in 2019. 2. FMLA tracking doens't exist which causes us to use an external application to track. At Connections they just came out with a fix for this, so I"m xcited for that.e

Pros: UltiPro has helped our company transition from a mainframe and many paper processes seamlessly. We can now offer employee self service (and transparency), quick report building and generating, process improvement for performance management, a candidate friendly experience and endless possibilities for enabling future functionality (mobile, LMS, etc).

Cons: We are not crazy about the salary planning feature. It is a little clunky for our organization and we wish it was as easy as it is to distribute reviews. This can certainly be improved upon and Ultimate Software listens to their customers, so I think it will be in the future.

Pros: UltiPro is very user friendly. The implementation process is very thorough and the specialists make sure you know how to do what you need to do before they let you go on your own. There are always tutorials and trainings to take if things are unclear or if you forget how to do something. They are very supportive. There are many modules/packages to fit every company's needs. The staff are great and it goes all the way up to upper management/CEO.

Cons: It can get very pricey but they work with you to fill your needs the best they can. Certain things that might sound simple may be a custom, which does cost extra.

Pros: Ultipro best trait is the ability to customize the settings or features in a way to mold it on how the business works.This is a very intuitive tool, that even our non tech people can manage and control their own data and find everything they need on UltiPro. Very easy to use.

Cons: Very limited on the workflow process in web based. Some features are slower than other, not sure if its because the data is too much. This are small bumps compared to the benefits that this tool offers, so overall it doesn't have too many flaws.

Pros: The product as pitched appears to solve all of our problems. Once you get to a senior level of management you can get support, but it is an arduous climb. Really, there are no pros.

Cons: Service is slow to respond, is often confused, and does not typically have the knowledge necessary to help solve our problems. After three years, my internal staff is far more expert on this product than UltiPro's employees. System issues pop up and half of the staff doesn't even know about them. We were sold a fully integrated cradle-to-grave product, but the modules don't interact and anything outside of payroll has very limited support.

Pros: Intuitive look and feel for Core and some of the other modules. I don't think UTM's layout / screens are intuitive to the end-user, Requesting PTO, etc.

Cons: UTM - as mentioned above. Performance Management in terms of when employees transfer from one manager to another during the process. Webinars/documentation in the learning center sometimes don't tell you everything you need to know. We have learned the hard way many times. Maybe have a "Tips"/ "Things to consider" or Keep in Mind" documents. I find that I create my own UltiPro functionality document containing this information because it wasn't mentioned in any webinar or documentation. And, again, it's because I/managers/employees learned the hard way. We would much rather be prepared before we roll out a process or module rather than always reacting to it after the fact.

Recommendations to other buyers: Continue to ask the questions that don't get discussed in the webinars. Like, what are the best practices, how are other companies solving these issues, what is the impact of....., what limitations are there, what can I expect if...., what else do I need to know?

Pros: There is a million things you can do on Ulti Pro. There are plenty of canned reports that I find useful as well as the ability to create your own reports based on your specific company needs. Customer service is excellent.

Cons: At times, it can be difficult to navigate through. There is so much information and tools that it can be hard to sort through. I will say although the customer service is great, the ulti pro university training page is hard to know what you want to sign up for and when. There are tours or actually online courses you can take but it is not very clear what you are signing up for.

Overall: I can't say enough good things about Ultipro. This system is by far the easiest HR system I have ever used. As an end user - I find it EXTREMELY helpful to have the ability to log into 1 site for all my HR related needs. From obtaining yearly W-2s, viewing weekly pay stubs., or updating direct deposit or benefit options is user friendly and not much training required at all.

Pros: I like that UltiPro asks for and implements features that its users ask for. They are constantly finding ways to improve the system and make it more relevant and user-friendly. Most HRIS/Payroll systems don't ask for feedback and even more rare is when they actually implement it. Our company had 3 suggestions implemented within the first year of being with them. I love UltiPro and have been a customer for over 7 years with multiple companies.

Cons: No system is perfect, but for the price and the caring that they provide it more than outweighs the minor irritations that all systems have.

Easy to use, great customer support. Company is always looking at ways to improve and update.

Cons: Would like to use other features and programs. The cost is a little high. Have not been able to get upper management onboard yet. Will keep trying.

Overall: Being able to put all of our employee information into one system is fantastic. We are able to run reports, input training as well as confidential paperwork. Comments: I think this product has a lot of bells and whistles. Like most software products, we are not utilizing all the great features. Sometimes it is frustrating to get a correct answer when calling in for specific questions. I like the product - I think it is easy to use.

Pros: That its one stop shopping - may features that interact

Cons: That sometimes the added modules do not work seamlessly with the Core product. That everything has to go through a 'case' when simple questions can be answered quickly.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you define your needs and set up a plan to implement new functions in stages. Make sure you get your structure defined from the beginning and think of future growth and needs and what you will need for reporting.

Comments: A challenge that we face in our company is getting associates to login to UltiPro to review their information and enter time worked in their time sheets.

Pros: I like that Ultipro is continually looking for ways to enhance the product. Keeping abreast of any changes via the UltiPro newsletters is beneficial for me and my team. I also like that there is a rapid response Payroll hotline - a contact for any unforeseen payroll emergency.

Cons: Sometimes it's frustrating to open a case to get an answer to a question. In this world of "getting things fast", waiting for a case to be resolved can seem unnecessarily long.

Pros: I like the easy to use menu option, the punch in time card is easy to access. Although we use a different software for my benefits, I can still access the link through this software application. It is very clean and easy to read, visually appealing. It also has a "most recently used" drop down menu which is very nice because I usually just use about 3 different tabs within that menu daily and then the rest of the tabs I use maybe once a month.

Cons: The accruals section is a bit confusing to navigate as a user. The customer service works on a case system which is usually always a slow response time.

Overall: Benefits is that it allows us to become an electronic and we can focus on improving and streamlining processes into the system for tracking/reporting.

Pros: I like that the product is extremely adaptable to the many changes HR often has to make in order to comply with laws and regulations. Our vendor keeps up-to-date with the changes and is proactive in adapting the software to accommodate the changes.

Cons: Sometimes the cost factor for entering data is a bit pricy for our organization. I least like that some of the data (that we chose to enter ourselves) can be tedious to enter (e.g., college information). However, I am sure if we wanted to pay the cost, we could have the vendor enter the data.

Recommendations to other buyers: I recommend that when others are evaluating software, it is very important to find out how adaptable the software is to changing laws and regulations. I know that when the regulations for healthcare was instituted, I knew many organizations that were trying to adjust their HRIS software and found it difficult. Most ended up purchasing new software. Whereas, with Ultipro, they were so proactive in updating their software to comply with the regulations, that when the time came for our organization to comply, all I had to do was "push a button". I had no stress!!!

Comments: UltiPro is a single source cloud-based software that meets all of our needs. In addition to significantly reducing the paper trail on HR, Payroll and Benefit functions, the business intelligence reporting capabilities provides unlimited access to data stored in UltiPro. The software is user friendly for both administrators and employees. Our employees appreciate having quick access to their payroll records, W-2s, benefit elections and personnel data via the web and the personal UltiPro app.

Pros: Features we like best about this software are: fully integrated system to include HR, Payroll, Benefits, ACA reporting, PTO tracking, Performance Management & Goal Tracking, Business Intelligence reporting system

Cons: We're a small company so the use of vendor feeds to manage our benefit enrollments and changes were not helpful to us.

Comments: I really like the product and wish I had more time to learn and test the system. I am the only person on my team, from conversion left with the organization. That creates it's own challenges as I am the primary payroll processer and report writer.

Pros: I really like the system. It has been a great move for us. I like all the functionality that we have with this product

Cons: I don't like that we have to pay for some add on features per user. I understand that this is a software company but sometimes the development is really cool and would be a great add on, but organizationally we are not able to pay for this feature.

Pros: Has provided time savings related to payroll; good to have all data in one place - benefits, HR, payroll; we have both US and Canadian employees and were looking for a software that would provide services for both and UltiPro has served us well in this regard. Appreciate the high level of security standards. Account Manager is responsive. I've sent staff to Connections and have heard very positive reports.

Cons: e-Recruit has been problematic for us and though a new platform is being released this year it was slow to come. It's also been very frustrating when we've wanted any modifications that these were always "customs" and we were charged an hourly rate to make these modifications. We also experienced delays in receiving these "custom" fixes, at times the work being scheduled months down the road. This aspect was far from clear when we entered into the contract.

Recommendations to other buyers: Ask to speak with companies/organizations similar to yourself and ask specific questions about what has worked well or not so well.

Comments: We have been with Ultimate since January 2017 and my overall experience has been great. Our Account Manager is prompt in answering my emails or calls. This software is constantly being updated and the Ultipro App will be a great tool for our industry with the planned enhancements. As a Customer being able to Share an Idea and have it considered as a future consideration tells me they truly listen us. I cannot say enough about the online Training and Document Support that Ultipro offers and being able to take these classes as much I as want. Payroll Critical Support is always quick to resolve issues.

Pros: Training Support Easy to Use Customer Share Ideas for Future Enhancements Payroll Critical Support

Cons: Payment Services needs to communicate with the client and respond to critical issues in a more timely manner

Pros: I like how it's customized to show my personal info and how long I been with a company. Great tool to use and has a wonderful time clock tool to punch in and out from your phone as well so you don't need to be in front of a computer

Cons: There is one thing I don't like and maybe can be updated anytime you have to edit the time it needs to have a note where you submit but I think it should allow the user to change the time and then just have payroll approve so it saves them time as well and reflects the adjusted time.

Pros: We use all modules UltiPro has to offer. It's great to have all the pieces working together seamlessly. Since they offer so many modules, you have complete integration from one to the next. It's so much easier than having to export from one system and import to another or maintain multiple databases.

Cons: Because it's so big, it can be hard to understand how all the pieces fit together. It requires some pretty focused training up front and then continuous learning as you continue to grow in the system.

Comments: I have used Ultipro for four years through my tenure with my HR department. We have mainly used it for employee tracking and payroll, but have recently added Time and Attendance and Recruitment. Ultipro holds a lot of sensitive information and helps us accomplish our tasks as they come up. The interface system runs smoothly if a bit slow in order to recall the information. Tab navigation takes some practice, but makes logical sense once it is explained. If anything, I would appreciate smart pop-ups which show up for first time users and when errors continue to happen. While most of Ultipro runs well, the Time and Attendance application is very difficult to manage for our employees. Adjusting sick and vacation time is confusing and difficult due to a lack of ways to adjust mistakes. The interface is also difficult to read and doesn't have options to make text bigger, or more understandable. Paired with this is the very expensive TouchBase system which is given by you (Ultimate Software). This system works very well at places which have multiple employees using it, but we have many sites with 10 or fewer employees, where the cost does not outweigh the benefits of the system. Ultimate University and the webinars are good ways to learn about Ultipro. These help all who use them, however there is not as much support and follow up afterwards to help push along the ideas.

Pros: It runs pretty well and securely stores all of my companies information.

Cons: UTA is a mess and hard to work with.

Pros: I like the fact that ultimate software calculates checks "on screen" and has a robust reporting tool (Business Intelligence)

Cons: There are features that competitors have that Ultimate Software hasn't added to their software package for payroll processing. I.E. the ability to import directly into an accumulator to make adjustments to employees rather than having to reverse and rekey checks, and also, the ability to import flat tax calculations to paycheck for FIT and SIT into live pay batches. We are confident that Ultimate Software will add some of the functionality back that ADP has.

Recommendations to other buyers: Ask a lot of questions to try and detect what functionality might not exist in their product, vs. the product that you are coming from. Review blogs describing any frustrations by clients, and the resolutions that Ulti offers. It's hard to do this since sales people are not necessarily processors, and don't know the answers to some detailed processing questions. If you know going in what the shortcomings are, you'll be far less disappointed.

Pros: I used Ultipro at my most recent job and I loved having quick online access to my pay stubs, benefits, etc. I was able to enroll in benefits very easily and I received my W-2 much faster by opting in for an electronic document. Having this platform even helped me during a busy time in my life where I had to find a new apartment and purchase a car within the same week (job moved). Having proof of income on hand at all times is one of the best benefits of having Ultipro. I can get whatever I need without adding anything to HR or Accounting's workload.

Cons: The worst part about having Ultipro had shown itself around review time. The platform was absolutely not intuitive and the entire company had a hard time submitting reviews. The way the questions were worded was so odd and the instructions were so vague and unclear. We eventually had to move the due date for reviews and give all of the managers an additional 30 days to complete reviews because no one knew what to do. It was ridiculous.

Pros: I do like the report writing functionality compared to other systems. I also see that they are trying to update the look of the front office to make it more user friendly.

Cons: The response time when submitting a ticket is horrible and the amount of customs required to maintain a system is not adequate. We were looking at the new onboarding module and it has less functionality than the previous version. Doesn't make sense to me.

Overall: It made processing requests from the field a lot easier to manage and keep track of.

Comments: Have been a client since 2000, have upgraded from on site to SASS and added UltiPro Time Management. Very happy with this system. Great program. Quick response if you submit a case for any issues you do encounter.

Pros: One stop shop for HRIS and Payroll. End user, employee and manager self service easy to use, many how do I do this embedded at each screen to help users.

Cons: We really do not have much for the Cons - one item is if we report an issue, it is fixed, but we don't always get the what caused the issue, just that it works now.

UltiPro has made many improvements in our HR and Payroll operations!

Pros: Ultimate continues to develop, listen and improve. It has helped up designate a second payroll position to meet another need because we aren't duplicating efforts on the HR, Payroll and General Ledge package side. Ultimate is a great company and overall we are very satisfied. Like that there is continual development of the product.

Cons: We have to be much more knowledgeable about what is connected to what and how turning something on or off can affect taxes, reporting, tracking. It puts more risk and responsibility on staff and we worry about penalties from oversight agencies and the department of labor if we make a mistake.

Recommendations to other buyers: Definitely consider Ultimate!! They are on the move and a great company. I would recommend they need to be prepared to shift processes, and unless they have a dedicated person to implement, that they plan on hitting delays due to staff working on the project being pulled to their regular jobs throughout the process.

Pros: Ultipro is leaps and bounds ahead of the product we exited, that being Infor's TotalHR. While TotalHR was a good fit for us for a a very long time (12 years), we finally outgrew it. Ultipro has many more features than TotalHR did and I especially like the employee self-service function and the document storage function.

Cons: The customer service is lacking, quite frankly. Also, it was not built to handle look back pay calculations. We had to have a custom written to handle instances where we pay bonuses to hourly employees and the look back overtime has to be calculated. The transfer feature of employees is lacking because the dependents do not transfer with the employees. We have to touch every dependent to reactivate their coverage.

Recommendations to other buyers: Maker sure you get a good configuration and implementation manager or your experience will be a disaster. We had to fire our first one and eventually went through a total of six.

Pros: UltiPro is very easy to use and accessible from every web browser. It has many options to 'turn on' for administrators and employees find their view very easy to navigate. When I've needed to contact customer support, they have been help. There is a useful tool called the 'Learning Center' that answers many trouble shooting questions people have had in the past.

Cons: In the 'Recruitment Gateway' (ATS portion), it can be tedious to manually forward each candidate to the a hiring manager. It would be very helpful if there were an option to select multiple candidates to forward on to a hiring manager.
Additionally, the app version of UltiPro is very limited. We have not turned on this feature, as the customization options are (currently) extremely limited.

Comments: CORT Business Services, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, offers a wide variety of individual and company transition services such as furniture rental, destination services, event furnishings, apartment locating, touring and other services that people and companies in transition find beneficial. We began working with Ultimate Software in 2006 and haven't looked back. The best part of our experience with Ultimate Software is the customer service. Accidents will happen and mistakes will be made, but it's not the mistake - it's how you fix it. My Ultimate service representative is quick to solve any issue I have and if she can't, she has a team of employees behind her who can. Technology and tax laws are always changing, but I don't have to worry about that because I know Ultimate is on top of it. I can concentrate on what matters to me, my employees. Ultimate stays connected with me through emails, blogs, social media and the Ultimate Success Portal. They even sponsor user groups so that clients can connect with each other. UltiPro is easy to use and fairly intuitive. My employees have had no difficulty navigating the system. If they are a little unclear on how to do something, UltiPro provides Quick Tours and Tips to walk them through the process. Did I mention that training is free? In-class training, instructor led webinars, and self-paced training is all a part of a program they call "Partners for Life". This means that every time I have a new hire in my HR, payroll or benefits team, I can get them trained on the system quickly. I've had 7 years of successful HR, payroll and benefits processing. In my opinion, being a successful Ultimate Software Customer means taking advantage of everything Ultimate has to offer.

Comments: If choosing this product, recommend going through a distributor, as customer service provided by Ultimate Software was unsatisfactory.

Pros: Fairly intuitive user interface. Integrated well with 3rd party Time & Labor module (TimeForce). Handled union environment well, with different pay scales by job.

Cons: Did not have embedded time and labor module. Clunky reporting with limited filter capability. While user interface was intuitive, it definitely needed an update.

Pros: I am a fan of the extensive reporting ability available through BI. The Ultipro Core also offers pretty good user functionality. Ulti University and the Customer Success portal offer great education resources to grow in your familiarity with the software.

Cons: Ultipro Recruiting has been frustrating to work with. The forwarding options for applications are time consuming, and the candidate experience overall is disappointing.

Helpful with some implementation hiccups.

Pros: There have been some hiccups during implementation. I think that the product, for the most part, is great. However, I hope to see some improvements with future upgrades. I would be more likely to recommend it if a few key areas showed improvement. Life Events, Onboarding, and Open Enrollment have been great. The assistance we received with building Life Events and Open Enrollment was exceptional, and I wish all areas of support were like that.

Cons: The customer service has really dropped off since last Fall. There are a few people/areas that I work with regularly that are stellar. They respond in a timely manner, and I can tell that they've done their research before contacting me. Their questions/information requests are smart, and together, we can arrive at a solution. In some other areas, though, it takes a very long time to get a call back on a ticket. Lately, that first call is to apologize and tell me that they are working on it.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have some key requirements due to compliance, etc., ask really specific questions and make sure that the system will meet your needs. Ask questions regarding "how?" For example, we were told that PTO balances could be printed on pay stubs. However, we were not told that there was a caveat. If you use UTM, those balances cannot be printed on stubs. Only those PTO codes accrued in Core can be printed on stubs. This has caused us to use a very time-consuming and paper-heavy workaround.

Pros: UltiPro's core system is easy to set up and process benefits, payroll and HR transactions. The new modules for Recruitment, Onboarding, Perceptions and Learning have a look a feel that really engage your employees. Employee self service gives the power to employees and manager self service empowers your leadership teams.

Cons: The ability to import into the business rules can be frustrating at times, however Ultimate is working on building more importing capabilities.

Pros: The system capabilities. The reporting feature using BI is excellent and very easy to use. The HRIS, payroll, and onboarding systems are all very user-friendly and I like that everything is integrated into one system instead of having to do things separately.

Cons: The performance management feature can be improved. Searching for a specific performance review once it has been sent out was a little tedious.

Ultipro is the cream of the crop when you are talking about HR systems, if you can afford it, it makes things SO easy

Comments: Not so much though for smaller companies, maybe less than 200, because the price tag is large and so is the implementation initially to get it set up.

Pros: There really was no comparison when we evaluated other vendors in this space because Ultipro had nearly all of the WOW moments when they presented the demo to us and allowed us a sandbox to really see how easy it is to use. Lots of learning tools as well.

Cons: The price tag is not for the weary, but if you do your due dilligence and figure out what the overall ROI will be after fully implementing, in most cases it points to Ultipro.

Pros: I love that it is user friendly and how the product easily integrates with our benefits. I also love how easily the software helps me remain compliant with the ever changing HR laws.

Cons: I least like that we have not yet been able to integrate the system with our 401k vendor. We can provide everything regarding 401k with the system, however, we still have to create a file feed to send to our vendor.

Pros: UltiPro is about the easiest HCM software's to use. I've been using it for over 3 years now and I truly enjoy how intuitive it is. We recently began using the UltiPro App (on my iPhone) and it's such an simple process to request time off and check pay history.

Cons: The company hierarchy functionality seems to be a bit lacking, but not bad at all. It's still one of my favorite features.

Pros: What I like best about the core HR product is that it is user friendly and intuitive. I also like that clients are able to engage in custom work to tailor to their business needs; for example, we had a need for tracking leaves as well as a need for a means to administer our attendance policy - although a significant amount of time, effort, and monies were involved, Ultimate was able to work with us to build those custom modules.

Cons: What I like least about this product is probably just the Business Intelligence component - I understand the benefits of the BI product, and am eager to leverage those benefits; however, it's not the easiest tool to use for someone who isn't savvy with the technical jargon needed to create reports. Ultimate has great products; however, I wish there were free BI training, in-person classroom-style that's available for clients to take at any time.

Recommendations to other buyers: Not much feedback to provide here; I would definitely recommend Ultimate to other organizations.

Pros: -Easy to use -Integrates with onboarding and our core system -Updates add necessary features -Communication and email features work seamlessly with applicants -Applicants can add references to their profile

Cons: -More features still needed, cross-boarding for hiring internal candidates -Customer service often give response of "known issue" and often feels like there isn't a person to speak with -Candidates often complain that they can't import their Presence into applications and takes time to complete for each application.

Pros: Ultipro is easily customizable depending on what discovery questions you need. It can be Parameter specific and can be tailored to cater different line of businesses and departments. It can accommodate a huge organization. We have 2,000 employees under our department alone. And our operation spans over 5 major cities. If we are talking about a large scale operation, the system can handle it without a doubt.

Cons: The actual process of customizing the program is not handled by our department. I'm at the receiving end of the process, but i can see the work that you need to put into this to establish that point of discovery per department. So the more department you have, the more work you have to put in. Which is totally understandable.

Comments: I cannot recommend this product for any reason. Our experience has been so bad that we will be looking for a replacement after just six months.

Pros: Employee self-service interface is pretty intuitive and our employees have been blissfully unaware of all the work arounds HR and Payroll are doing in the background

Cons: Effective dating does not work consistently and not at all for some changes. We can use effective dating for terminations but any other changes including pay changes don't seem to work or don't work consistently. You have to follow a whole string of if/then scenarios to predict when the system is actually going to apply the change. Needs a lot more work before it can be sold as a "feature."

Pros: We have only just begun the implementation process for the many different modules. this seems to be a very well rounded program and we are very excited to roll out the other modules. I truly love that this system really offers the whole package. From payroll, time keeping to performance management and succession planning/management.

Cons: We have struggled with the customer service from our service team from the very beginning. it always seems like we are changing who our representative is. Even when we are told to contact our customer service rep, she doesn't always know what is going on. There isn't a number that we can truly call to get quick answers. i get the theory behind the cases, but they always seem to call back when i am no longer working on the project, and they seem to call when i am out of the office.

Recommendations to other buyers: Ultimate has a lot to offer with their packages. the implementation process was a struggle for us, but we also didn't have many people on our team that had gone through any sort of process like this. I would suggest to ask questions and documentation on the processes. take your time and roll out modules as you are able.

I really loved this HRIS system. It was innovative and kind of a one stop shop.

Pros: I loved being able to keep payroll and other human resource information in the same system. I also loved being able to post jobs and gather applications from this resource.

Cons: The worst part about this system was the changeover and start up. The customer service was not great and it seemed like the turnover for that company during our transition was really high and a lot of communication was lost.

Overall: I loved the experience of launching a different HRIS system and I really appreciated having so much information all in one system.

Comments: Great software...complete package....future thinking!

Pros: What I like best about this software is that it offers modules to cover all aspects of HR and Payroll.

Cons: The are that I like the least about the software is that there are known issues (problems) with updates when they are applied and customers are not told of these until they report them as issues.

Pros: Ultimate constantly strives to improve their products and stay up to date with the market and customer's needs! They listen to their customers as well. Ultimate also does a great job of staying up to date on new and expanding regulatory requirements (can you say ACA?). I love that I don't have to know every tax law and tax change thrown at us.

Cons: There have been times where service and support has not been where I would like it to be; however, in recent years that again has been improving. I would like to see more improvements in timing on service requests for interfaces, customs, etc.

Recommendations to other buyers: Ultimate isn't a company that just gets your company live and then says "good luck" like some companies do. You always have an entire team behind you to help you along the way, ensuring your success.

It is simply an administrative assistant of excellent quality

Pros: UltiPro has helped us a lot when carrying out some administrative or human resources tasks, being a small company we do not yet have the resources to create a human resources area, so Ulti Pro has always helped us to handle those kinds of issues

Pros: The Customer Service is always there when you need help or get your project completed. except for year end adjustments :-)

Cons: The processing time for W2C adjustments is taking way too long!! I am waiting for many adjustments since the beginning of January and they still can not get to them.

Recommendations to other buyers: This software is great because there are so many custom features that you can have added or changed to meet your needs. The many earning and deduction codes can have complicated expressions built to cover anything from 401K deductions to Union dues. Our company has eight 401K plans/Roth, SERP, Profitsharing and many different matching rules that all interact with each other. We also have 11 union dues and Health and Welfare that the system calculates each with the rules required by each union office. Many system are not able to handle the many levels that is required for our many payrolls.

Pros: The ATS tracking was very easy to use. The functionality was one of the best I've seen. It's very easy to ad notes to applicants and see who you have already interacted with on one screen.

Cons: I don't think there was anything I didn't like about UltiPro. The ease of speaking with someone with customer service wasn't always the easiest.

Pros: Ultipro is extremely easy to implement and use. The modules are geared towards admins and employees, and are constantly upgraded to fit the customer needs.

Cons: The Time management module is cumbersome but I know workforce management should take care of all those issues. There is a lack of instructions on creating BI reports.

Comments: I have been an UP user for 10 years with 2 companies. Great, solid HR/Payroll/Benefit (Core) product, but customer support has always been the issue. They are pricey and nickel and dime you for everything. They have a lot of tools to make a complete HRIS, but I have heard and done some research on adding their ATS or Performance Management and decided to go another route.

Pros: I love the Tax filing services - integrated with payroll and just push a button to send taxes and they are done properly I love the EE self service and Manager self service payroll. Really helped to streamline my processes.

Cons: Customer Service is lacking. We have an Engagement Manager, Account Manager, Client Relations Manager, that changes every 6 months and I have no idea who does what - never heard from most of them. When I contact one they push me to the other and sometimes I don't even hear from them unless I follow up a few times. Call back on support tickets is a few days at best. They will call and get more info and I think the clock restarts. Has gotten worse over the last 2 years.

Comments: Our 4 hotels and corporate office currently use UltiPro to handle HR, payroll, on-boarding, performance management and time management. We have eliminated a lot of manual work which has led us to be more efficient at work and provide an overall better experience for every type of user. Being able to customize our UltiPro environment to our needs and goals is one of the best features.

Pros: The resources that UltiPro has is incredible. There are endless job aids, complimentary webinars and on-line classes, live customer support, etc... right at your fingertips. Our Account Manager has been amazing and patient through all the changes we wanted to do. The ability to easily activate/deactivate features has been significant for us as our company has grown tremendously over the last 2 years.

Cons: There is not a Labor Management System as of today, however, future updates and releases show possibilities of this in the near future.

Recommendations to other buyers: Understand what your business needs are from all aspects; HR, Benefits, Finance, Reporting, Time Management so the Implementation Specialist can set you up for success.

Pros: The Payroll Gateway has all you need to process a clean and timely payroll. The steps are outlined for you so that you do not miss a process. It's almost fail proof!

Pros: Ultimate Software does a great job taking care of their customers. I am constantly getting emails about the status of upgrades and tax changes. I love that this allows my company to do our own payroll without having to outsource. It works smoothly for us!

Cons: I am a backoffice payroll user. I don't really like using the web version and like the functionality of the backoffice. I am hoping at this conference to learn about additional functionality that will enable us to switch to the web.

Recommendations to other buyers: Training is very important. Before implementing it is important to be knowledgeable about how the software works. We trained very well upfront and implementation went very well. We have implemented other modules as well and have had a very good experience working with the Ultimate staff.

Pros: To me, Ultimate's best assets are the people. I have worked with Ultimate at two separate companies since 2002 and have experienced great customer service, especially on the core product. I also feel that UltiPro core is user friendly; and I like working with the BI product.

Cons: Our challenge has been working with UTM and the Tax Service product. Ultimate has been responsive in working with our UTM issues, but it has taken quite a while for some of our initial implementation issues to be identified. The tax service product has been challenging and response time has not always been within established standards.

Recommendations to other buyers: Be open to a full review of current processes and ways to allow the system to improve efficiency (don't push old processes on the new system).

Comments: We were so excited to get UltiPro in 2006. Contracts were the norm then and they had so much that we could add on to when we needed other options for recruiting, time management, onboarding, etc. Only draw back at that time (not insurmountable) was that we had to use Ceridian for Tax services and check printing and garnishment check printing. Training became 'do it yourself' and the prices were lowered for training (now down to free!) BUT.... all the upgrades and services we needed were never offered to us. We (as a law firm) kept down-sizing until Ulti-Pro's contract was charging us for employees we didn't have. We can't talk them into lowering the price and they want to charge over $6000 to come and do an 'overhaul' to see what all we would like to use. 140 employees seems to be beneath them. BUT all customer service agents seem to be knowledgeable and very polite and willing to help whenever I open a case/ticket.

Pros: Good customer service, great products, good chat groups to engage with other users to get answers

Cons: pricing, contracts, no keeping in touch to expand or help with more services

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't lock into a contract; Make sure you have all the modules you need and GET TRAINED in using EACH of them;

Comments: Overall a powerful system that will allow you to do what you need to do.

Pros: UltiPro makes payroll processing very quick, and can allow you from cutting paper checks entirely. It's very secure, with various roles that can be assigned to management, etc. The reporting is excellent, with built-in reports already available for most things that the user would want to do. It's very easy for everyone in the company to access their personal information, and search old paystubs and W2s.

Cons: Implementation is more difficult than expected. The reporting options are good, but some users find them difficult to learn. It could be a more user-friendly interface.

Pros: Finally out pay stubs are available from a SAAS model. Mobile app is quite nice as well. Easy to reset passwords from the portal.

Cons: The reset password options are brutal for out users. They are required to remember challenge questions regardless of reset method. We reset 100s of account each week.

Pros: Ultimate Software is very easy to use and navigate. The web system is user friendly and you can typically find what you are looking for in just a few clicks.

Cons: I do not like the way that you get assistance for issues, file issues in particular. The "ticket" process is VERY slow and I find that many times the initial person I speak with can't help me and ends up being the middle man when it may have been more productive if you connected me directly with the subject matter expert. Recently you changed the process when you need a value on a file updated which makes you put in a service request and wait for a resource to be assigned, pay extra money etc. just to get a value changed. This is very slow and a hindrance to my company's process.

Recommendations to other buyers: Understand the entire process of working with Ultimate Software. Have a better understanding of the support process to evaluate if this model will work with your company.

Pros: Depending on where you are coming from and your experience with systems that exist out there, the opinions can vary. They do have the ability to customize the product to suit your needs; however, it will cost a small fortune and take way more time than anyone would expect.

Cons: The base product specifically toward benefits is by far the worst I have ever seen. It lacks the basic functionality to properly handle the most basics of benefits. Everything you want is a customization, and each customization costs extra. I had one custom that cost me a lot, and after 1-1/2 years of development, it barely worked as intended. This particular custom is as a standard feature in many other products out there. Don't forget their customer service; it's horrible. You can't even call your account manager without first opening a ticket, no matter how simple the question may be. Tickets take forever to get resolved.

Recommendations to other buyers: The salespeople promise you the world and price this to sell. This way, once you are in, they know you either need to spend that fortune to get it to what you want, which forces you to stay with them long-term, or else you find yourself looking for a new product to do it all over again. It is worth the extra upfront cost for another product than to be nickel and dimed to death.

Comments: Liked it a lot!

Pros: Did not have many issues, we liked the web-based ease of using their system. The system is very intuitive and works well for large businesses as well as small.

Cons: Would have liked more canned reports that were already created. Other than that we did not have many issues with this system.
