Mariana Tek was the first software I used for a fitness studio, and I've used several others. I think Mariana Tek is excellent and has great usability, extremely flexible, and the customer service is excellent and timely if there are problems that need resolution.

Pros

It is very easy to use and has lots of features that are also easy to find and clearly described with helpful tags. It's really easy to create discount codes, and fast to delete codes that are no longer valid or used.

Cons

The app is not easy to use for sales, you need the desktop version for POS items. You also can't email people directly from the system.

We are extremely happy with our Mariana Tek experience so far. Whether from a member facing perspective to the deep analytics available to gym leadership/ownership, MT is an absolute complete package and is instrumental in our day to day success as a busy fitness club.

Pros

I love the UX of Mariana Tek. As a fitness business who prides themselves on our brand experience, Mariana Tek was a perfect fit and great brand extension with their App UX and overall clean design.

Cons

My only disappointment, which I believe was just fixed, was not being able to make certain fields mandatory when a new member onboards ex. their home address or other helpful fields that a business should have on file.

Creating an account is a painful experience. Need to be able to push price increases including taxes through better. Communication to 3rd party products needs work.

I love how accessible and user-friendly the platform is. With our footprint across both Tampa and Los Angeles, and multiple studios operating within one property, MarianaTek makes complex operations significantly easier to manage. The reporting tools give us the visibility we need to track paid attendance, utilization, and membership trends across programs and locations. It provides a strong operational backbone that supports both our day-to-day execution.

Cons

We’d love more advanced retention and lifecycle reporting. In addition, a cleaner and more simplified process for first timers to enroll in their first class with us - I find it to be too many steps.

Pros

Mariana Tek has been a really powerful platform for running and scaling our studio operations. The booking system is clean and intuitive for both staff and clients, and it’s made managing class schedules, memberships, and attendance much more efficient. I especially value the backend data and reporting—it gives us real insight into conversion, retention, and overall business performance, which is huge for making informed decisions. It also integrates well into a premium studio experience, which aligns with our brand.

Cons

We’ve experienced a few app glitches at times, along with some minor friction in the user interface that could be improved for ease of use—especially with symbols and navigation for staff. There have also been occasional issues with iPad connectivity when completing agreements, which can slow down operations in the moment. That said, these feel like fixable improvements, and with some refinements in stability and usability, the platform could be even stronger.

Overall, Mariana Tek has been a strong and dependable booking/POS platform with excellent support. We can tell Mariana Tek is committed to growth and improvement. increased flexibility and deeper reporting capabilities, our experience has been largely positive and we feel confident continuing to grow our business with Mariana Tek as a partner.

Pros

One thing we love is their customer service. The support team is responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping resolve issues quickly. We also are impressed with the build out of the “help” section and knowledge base. It's organized and easy to navigate, making it simple to find answers without always needing to reach out. This is especially helpful for onboarding new team members or implementing new features. Another big strength is the consistent product releases and updates. It’s clear the platform has improved over time (7 years for us), with new features and enhancements being rolled out regularly. This gives confidence that we are listened to. Finally, they are proactive and forward thinking. There's great communication when there's an issue or we need to follow a new law, review Apple developer agreements, etc.

Cons

One thing that we struggle with is that features are not fully customizable to specific business models - we wish there was more flexibility. Reporting could be more robust and flexible depending on the level of detail needed.

We switched for a few reasons. One was credit card processing fees were significantly less and integrated better. While reporting is still a growth point for MT, Mindbody's was less straightforward. Mariana Tek is more boutique fitness specific and looks more modern, booking flow is easier, as is the POS is better integrated.

Overall, I feel that our experience has been extremely positive and our business has grown exponentially since joining. I was a previous Mindbody client, and I can't say enough about how much of an improvement Mariana Tek was for us and our business. MT is conducive to building community, which has helped us grow our business overtime.

Pros

The customer user interface is seamless for our clients, and they offer ways for our studio to build community through different features, like guest booking, as well as in-app challenges.

Cons

Some booking limitations, in the sense that I wish we could limit the ability to book classes that overlap in time, so members are unable to reserve spots in classes that they will inevitably have to cancel since they can't attend two classes at once.

We've been using Mariana Tek for 3 years and just renewed with them. They are the best in the industry. Yes, they are expensive. But I think they're worth it.

Pros

Mariana Tek's software is really, really good. From a business operations standpoint, the flow is logical and efficient. From a user's standpoint, the product is beautiful and easy to use. They offer everything that you would need when running a fitness studio. Mariana's customer service is strong and their knowledge database is robust.

Cons

It seems like Mariana Tek has taken the approach of acquiring companies to expand their offering rather than developing from within. And a lot of these offerings come at an extra cost. $80 per studio location per month for one thing. $100 per studio location per month for another. And that's on top of a price that is already the most expensive among their competitors.

My experience with Mariana Tek has been great. I use it myself everyday and have several consulting clients on the software as well. The software is intuitive on both the studio owner and client interfaces and

Pros

I love the Mariana Tek client interface the most. It's intuitive and easy for clients to make purchases and book classes in a frictionless manner which ultimately results in more sales for studio owners. I've watched numerous studio owners increase revenues just from a change to Mariana Tek alone.

Cons

Like any software, Mariana Tek is not perfect, but I've never seen a company that is more committed to delivering solutions to customer issues. Mariana Tek's product roadmap is a brilliant way in which they continuously keep a pulse on what their customers need and are asking for. The automatic waitlist was an issue for many, but it was resolved once Mariana Tek added waitlist text notifications.

Mindbody had a lot of outages and much of the software never functioned properly. There was also a lack of key features which resulted in us having to spend more money with a third party to get what we needed. At one point we were paying $1,000/month just with Mindbody for one studio and none of the extra add-ons (MBO Ultimate, Branded App, Messenger AI, Marketing Suite, etc) functioned as promised. Not only that but customer service was terrible as well.

For the most part, I love Mariana Tek and would never dream of switching.

Pros

We switched Mariana Tek from MindBody over four years ago and I often say it's one of the best decisions I've made as a business owner. The ease with which managing every aspect of the in-studio experience occurs is bar none, and I appreciate how MT is always looking for ways to innovate and improve its offering.

Cons

While incredibly responsive and helpful and heads and shoulders above any other customer support team I've worked with, I do sometimes feel as though the support arm of Mariana Tek has evolved from what it was a few years ago. I miss having a dedicated account manager, and I also sometimes feel hounded/as though I am something the support team is trying to check off their list because of the constant check ups from the team when I haven't even had a chance to check my email yet (especially during the weekends). Additionally, when a query or issue requires deeper work (e.g. privacy policy compliancy with Google), sometimes the question is kicked back to me with a quick answer and link to other resources, rather than a willingness to collaborate and work with me to find a solution. Usually when I push back, more help is provided, but it would be so helpful if the team could proactively help find solutions rather than passing it back to me.

### "Absolutely horrendous software "

Just the general way the software was written and functions is very limiting - some things that should be simple to do or fix are not able to be done without some extensive, janky workaround. Just very poorly written and designed software. Also just a terrible company to do business with. We’ve had issues with them consistently over the last 3 years and they are just not friendly - in fact they are off-putting and will threaten you if you bring up any of these issues to them or do something they don’t like. When you add up the cost of Mariana Tek and all the additional platforms that you need for your stack to work properly (MT, Brandbot, bitlancer, Mandrill, etc). It comes out to being up to twice of the costs of the alternatives. And it is not twice as good, in fact it is an inferior product to all the others. I would choose any other option over MAriana Tek. Please do not make the mistake of signing up with them, you will be much better off, happier, less stressed, and less annoyed if you choose something else.

Pros

The only thing good about Mariana Tek is the client app.

Cons

Support is terrible - its basically email in a chat interface - no live chat or phone support. They take forever to respond and are gone on weekends. Something that would take a 5 minute phone call to fix ends up taking days or even weeks to solve. Support staff doesn’t know what they are talking about - all they do is direct to the help articles. They don’t actually do anything for you or go the extra step to make sure that you problem is fully solved 3 year initial contract, then it renews every year for a year at a time - really scummy practice to lock clients in for a year at a time Requires third party Mailchimp/Mandrill to sent basic transactional emails (reservation confirmed, cancelled, etc) which is insane, no other software requires that and has the basic emails built in Transactional email are required to be built using HTML - which is most likely going to require hiring someone who knows HTML. No simple drag and drop builders like every other platform Doesn’t calculate instructor pay - requires either you to export multiple reports to then plug into their janky excel spreadsheet or a third party platform at additional cost to calculate your instructor pay API is terrible - every other software they integrate with has data issues due to their API. If you need to access it on the mobile, the business app is limited to viewing sales and class schedule information. To make any actual changes you need to use mobile chrome browser and it is unusably glitchy

### "Scheduling Simplified!"

After the initial (and short) learning curve, I have been extremely satisfied with my experience. Even if I ran into an issue, the incredible customer support were readily available to help and find a solution quickly. I would recommend this product to any fitness studio.

Pros

After switching from a competitor, I can say Mariana Tek is much more user friendly. It is easy to learn, to use, and to implement. For client management, it has incredible features to help with retention. The reports you can pull are thorough and easily customizable (many different options too). My favorite part is the scheduling - adding classes, updating classes, the calendar view. All of it is simpler than competitors and "cleaner".

Cons

One of the things that is a downfall in Mariana Tek is the inability to split a sale. That was the biggest weak spot I found. But overall, I have been happy with everything else.

Everything has been easy peasy. And their customer service has been OVER THE TOP, before and through COVID. Especially \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] ! THANKKK YOU! Everyone else has also been amazing, huge shout out to \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] you guys are THE BEST and we could not be happier. I am a customer for LIFE, and have referred all of my friends who own or operate boutique fitness studios and will continue to be a raving fan. Mariana Tek is not simply "our preferred vendor of choice," they are our FAMILY and we do not know what we would do without them =)

Pros

EVERYTHING. Literally. The aesthetic right from the start allows you brand to have an IMPACT. It is sleek, modern, clean, and easy to navigate. Not only does it look great, but it is easy to use as well, and offers a ton of extra features and reports that I did not have with other platforms. And then the obvious customer service that comes with everything. ANDDD it is more affordable than the other options.

Cons

I will let you know when I have something... So far, not a single thing.

### "Easy to Use, But Needs Performance Improvements"

Overall, Mariana Tek has been a helpful platform for managing studio operations and improving client experience. While it’s easy to learn and use, performance issues do affect workflow efficiency at times. If the lag were resolved, it would be a much stronger product.

Pros

beginner-friendly and visually intuitive. It's easy for staff and clients to navigate. It also integrates well with our studio’s operations.

Cons

The system tends to lag quite a bit, especially during peak hours. There are also moments when loading times or syncing between the app and desktop version feel slow or glitchy, which can be frustrating when trying to manage time-sensitive tasks.

Sometimes I get logged out of the app automatically and it makes clocking in and clocking out confusing.

Cons

Would like a bi weekly schedule option when creating classes as well would be great to insert holidays into the schedule so clients know the reason no a day of no classes. Example - Christmas, New Years etc...

My experience has been incredible, The product works really well and there are always improvements and updates being worked on. Response time for support is short when it is needed and there is a lot of detailed reporting. Every person from the team that I have had to interact with is always helpful and kind.

Pros

It is very user friendly so training my staff on how to use it is so simple and does not create headaches. It provides very details reports on the back end to get a sense of how the business is performing. There are little outages and it runs smoothly for the customers on the front end and back end for us. The app is so amazing and has helped bring brand awareness and loyalty.

Cons

I with there was a feature where you can send a link for private ride sign up. This would alleviate pain points of getting guests registered for private events.

### "From Mindbody to Mariana"

My overall experience has been positive. I much prefer MT to Mindbody, but I do wish some of the missing functions could be solved for. Its so much more user friendly than Mindbody but Mindbody provided opportunities for greater automations IMO.

Pros

I like the user friendly nature! It's easy for both my staff and myself to utilize. I like how easy it is to manage memberships as well.

Cons

I don't like some of the functionality. I wish mass texting was available for announcements. I think its lacking in class package reminders, automations, and in the sometimes clunky nature of xplor connection.

### "3rd vendor in 3 years - wish we had switched sooner"

We were really pleased with MT and wish we had switched sooner. It is beautiful, they're churning out new features and slowly eliminating the need for 3rd party API integration, transition from one vendor to the next was very smooth, most customization is easy (of course we always wanted more to stay in line with our branding but we know most studios may not be as techy savvy and that level of customization would overwhelm them) - we are just really pleased. No software is going to meet all of your needs. And the fact that we had 3 vendors in 3 years makes us more picky because we would miss a feature from one of our other vendors but most other studios are not going to have that experience. What you don't know - you don't know - so you can't miss it.

Pros

The app features - ease of use for our employees. How quickly they were churning out improvements in the client-facing app (year in review was awesome), the business app and their transparency of their product roadmap and allowing clients (studios) to vote and give their opinion on the level of importance to items in the roadmap for their needs.

Cons

Hmm... considering they were our 3rd vendor in 3 years - not a lot. The things we liked least would be pretty nitpicky and just wish list items from the other vendors we used or vetted. More customization in the emails - they are getting there. Sometimes it felt like we needed too many 3rd party API integrations for features that were standard with other vendors - but again they were working quickly to make those improvements and they delivered. Probably our biggest hang up was the store in the client facing app. We used it for our "potion bar" which is an adpatogenic-drink bar with smoothies, espresso and tea. That feature really isn't as f&b industry friendly as it was sold to us. That whole section needs a customization revamp, same for in the client-facing app and how it appears. I assume most of their clients don't have a need for it to cater to food and beverage so an improvement is probably low on the totem pole, however that is one 3rd party API integration that we would welcome. Partnering with TOAST or SquareUp or some other f&b based/friendly POS system so it is more friendly in regards to orders, food tickets for the cafe staff and reporting inventory and revenue would be great. Otherwise we were going to have to have two POS systems - one for the classes and one for the cafe - that took away the feature of clients having their card save on file and it being an easy order ahead or speedy in-studio transaction. Customization of reports cost you money - an ungodly amount and that sucked because our first vendor (a big one most people know) had a plethora of reports and would help you build what you wanted for free. The waitlist situation was a real an issue but that is because our clients got used to the waitlist feature in our previous vendor which was one of the good things about that software.
