I've not found a situation that it wouldn't handle. Pros Foxit is a super easy to use software that I purchased a few years ago for my small business. The icons and menu are intuitive and just plain make sense. I needed assistance for a billing issue and their customer service was top notch. Foxit works with my browser and makes manipulating pages of PDFs a breeze. If you're looking for something different, it's worth a trial run. Cons Foxit didn't make sense to my Adobe-trained mind at first. But after using it for a couple weeks, I began to realize it's actually a lot easier to use and makes so much sense. Finally, the ability to quickly redact PIIs from project reports before sharing with unauthorized personnel helps us easily maintain data protection protocols. Pros My most favorite feature of Foxit Reader is the Page Panel, that allows me to reorganize the flow of any pdf document by simply dragging and dropping them in the order that suits me. Before discovering this feature, I used to have to first convert them into word format, and then copy paste the contents unto a fresh document in the order I desired. Imagine the amount of time being saved me by introducing this powerful feature. Cons Even though there are ways around it, I wish the Foxit Sign function wasn't featured as a separate service. This is my only complain about Foxit Reader. Pros Foxit allows me to easily manage project documentation very securely with very little chance of unauthorized edits and changes. With Foxit's very short simple steps that allow me to easily convert my word and excel documents into pdf, I no longer worry about team members not tracking changes they make and causing me a lot of time working my way back. Comments and notes can now be easily added unto the pdf documents, which I can decide to accept or reject; saving me a lot of time. Cons Transitioning between pages can feel a bit stiff sometimes whether using the navigation buttons or the scroll bar, making reading not as smooth as it could be. Pros I use Foxit Reader daily as it is the PDF reader we use at work, and it has quickly replaced Adobe Acrobat Reader as the only PDF reader I want to use. I am in love with the features! I love how I can search with ease, and by clicking on a chapter in the table of contents Foxit Reader instantly takes me to that place in my document. A good portion of my job is research, and being able to navigate through documents fast and efficiently is a huge time-saver, which for me is a life-saver! Cons At first I was reluctant to switch to Foxit Reader from Adobe Acrobat which I knew so well, so using Foxit Reader for the first time was like learning a foreign language, and there was no quick start tutorial which may have been helpful. It is a good PDF reader and many features besides the "PDF reader" was included such as the sign option that I have been using a lot since the beginning of 2020. Comments, notes, and highlights are important features for university usage to suggest corrections and highlight parts of the text that you think it is important or that need to be changed Pros The software is easy-to-use. It was translated into several languages which are good for non-English speakers. Many years ago (I believe around 10 years) I changed from adobe pdf reader and I do not regret the change. A lot of new usable features were included during this time. The size (HD space requirement) and HD/memory usage of the software were great advantages back then in comparison with competitors and now it is still a very good advantage in this comparison. As a visualization all notes and comments section already exist in the lateral tab, it is easy to analyze all notes and comments without miss anyone. Cons I think it requires a personalization tab in comments that allows changing the color of the letters. Now you are only able to change the size (at least it is the easily available editing), especially in the typewriter tab. A hide/show button for all notes might be interesting as it is difficult to read with many notes on the same page and you have to change the location of the note icon if you have put it in the exact location the note should be done in the text (sometimes it ended up on top of a word. Pros I have been using Foxit reader for a really long time and must admit that it has managed to evolve without actually ditching it lightweight features and clean user interface it has been known for. Most people tend to believe that pdf files are usually always clean (virus free). This is not true. The makers of Foxit reader realizes this and added some security-related features, such as Safe Reading Mode to ensure that suspicious script will not be triggered when you launch your pdf files as well as add/Verify Digital Signature, Sign PDF Documents, Disable JavaScript. These security features have saved me a number of times and are my favourite features in it. I like that I can Install extension for Foxit Reader PDF Printer and use it to delete pages I don’t want during print. Foxit reader can be easily used to create and fill pdf forms and even used to merge pdf files (I actually use this function a lot). It effortlessly handles workings with all pdf files for your peace of mind. They even have the portable version you can install on a pen drive and use everywhere your pen drive is inserted. Unlike most other free readers, it allows you to create PDFs and participate in a shared review with your workgroup. Cons Foxit reader cannot be used for PDFs that contain Flash animations or 3D CAD drawings and It also lacks OCR capability which I consider a really big constraint. Additionally, when installing Foxit reader software for the first time or during an upgrade, you will do well to read the installation process carefully before clicking next to avoid installing unwanted items which can change your system settings and install unnecessary toolbars in your browsers and desktop. They push hard for the yearly licensing. I find that the company is what makes the experience bad, not the software itself. They are not interested in communicating with you at all. As of this writing, their website is created so that the only way you can communicate is via phone or support ticket. No email address. And when they do communicate with you they will blatantly stay they are not interested in providing a discount unless you purchase a volume license. Pros I really enjoyed the software overall. The layout, the tab structure of having multiple PDFs open, and all the editing options out in the open. I find it significantly easier to use than Adobe Acrobat. Cons There is nothing I didn't like about the software. It takes a Microsoft Office approach to the layout, which most people are familiar with. Very easy to use. Reason for choosing Foxit PDF Reader No. Simply the fact that FoxIt didn't care to even provide a $5 discount on the standalone license, it showed me they did not care about small business or assisting with reducing the price by any means. A $5 discount was more than reasonable on an overpriced price point of $179 for a standalone license. Why pay $179 for a license for FoxIt when you can get Adobe Acrobat for a little more? It's like getting generic or name brand in the grocery. If the generic is 10 cents less, you're going with the name brand all day long. Review Source Syazila R. The Android PDF reader offers nearly identical functionality to the desktop version, including the ability to view, annotate, edit, and create new files. Cons Although it's a good PDF viewer, all of its useful features are locked behind a paid subscription. The more recent versions are very slow despite having a lot of features.
