Utilissima a mio parere la funzione di protezione dei documenti con una password e la possibilità di convertire i documenti da pdf in altri formati, o anche da word a pdf, funzionalità importanti ma anche a pagamento; Cons Alcune funzionalità avanzate , come la protezione dei documenti con password o la firma digitale, la conversione dei formati, l'unione dei pdf, la compressione, sono in realtà disponibili solo nella versione a pagamento del software. Pros I have been using Foxit reader for a really long time and must admit that it has managed to evolve without actually ditching it lightweight features and clean user interface it has been known for. Most people tend to believe that pdf files are usually always clean (virus free). This is not true. The makers of Foxit reader realizes this and added some security-related features, such as Safe Reading Mode to ensure that suspicious script will not be triggered when you launch your pdf files as well as add/Verify Digital Signature, Sign PDF Documents, Disable JavaScript. These security features have saved me a number of times and are my favourite features in it. I like that I can Install extension for Foxit Reader PDF Printer and use it to delete pages I don’t want during print. Foxit reader can be easily used to create and fill pdf forms and even used to merge pdf files (I actually use this function a lot). It effortlessly handles workings with all pdf files for your peace of mind. They even have the portable version you can install on a pen drive and use everywhere your pen drive is inserted. Unlike most other free readers, it allows you to create PDFs and participate in a shared review with your workgroup. Cons Foxit reader cannot be used for PDFs that contain Flash animations or 3D CAD drawings and It also lacks OCR capability which I consider a really big constraint. Additionally, when installing Foxit reader software for the first time or during an upgrade, you will do well to read the installation process carefully before clicking next to avoid installing unwanted items which can change your system settings and install unnecessary toolbars in your browsers and desktop. Pros The ability to create stamps and stamp documents (for us it is exhibits) is very useful and it is simple to use. The ability to copy text or pictures from word or email or almost anywhere and be able to edit that into a pdf is a tremendous timesaver. Converting docs and other formats to pdf is seamless and easy. Foxit Reader has help us streamline many daily functions. Cons There are only two issues with Foxit. First, we used to be able to right click and applicable file (docs, jpegs, email, etc.) and convert to pdf. That feature stopped working after an update and we have been unable to get that back. We can still convert once the file is open, but it is a little more time consuming. The other issue is that sometimes Foxit can use up tremendous system resources causing freezing and sometimes rebooting becomes necessary. This seems to have been improving, but it can cost time and cause losses of information not saved. Of course, we back everything up regularly, but to lose what was created within the last 15-30 minutes can sometimes take hours to recreate. It makes it very easy to manage pdf documents that you need to combine, edit, and manipulate into fully proofread, polished documents for sending and filing. Cons I was not aware of it until my company loaded it to my computer. I think the Foxit company should do a better job of marketing the Foxit product. I recently had a co-worker go to work at another company and she said that the new company had never heard of Foxit and now she is forced to go back to using Adobe which limits your ability to edit and manage pdf documents. Pros I was using another pdf software to view pdf files which always caused my pc to hang until a colleague recommended foxit reader to me. It has worked flawlessly for me. Foxit reader is the only reader I know how to use to delete unwanted pages in the middle of my pdf documents. This is a very useful function for me. Foxit reader load very fast and open Files quickly. I particularly like using the Safe Reading Mode to open doubtful files downloaded from the internet so that my pc will not be affected by viruses if embedded in them. I also use it to Sign and fill PDF Documents. The updates are not as regularly as the other software I was using but you get the feeling they only release updates if they really have to and the effects are usually noticeable. For a non-techy person like me, I like that the interface functions are not plenteous and is very easy to use. Cons In the course of my duties, I do a lot of search within the files I work with and must say foxit reader search function is unreliable. It takes less time than other relevant software. I don't have to wait to open a file. What I need to finish my work, I can do that with Foxit reader. Break a PDF file, edit it, and then merge it with my other files is more comfortable with this software because it's quick and easy for me to understand what I need to do. I don't really have a lot of experience with other PDF readers, but this one does what it says on the tin, and that's all I really want. Cons I'm not sure if this is a Foxit-specific issue or (more likely) all PDF readers, but it's annoying to not be able to delete pages directly from a protected PDF, and have to save it as a new document in order to do that. It is not the most popular however so a few programs that are designed speciffically to work with Adobe pdf reader, (such as Quickbooks Online) do not appear correctly. It is a very minor issue and most people woundn't even notice so I would highly recomend Foxit Reader to anyone looking for an alternative to Adobe. Pros I use Foxit Reader with Foxit PhantomPDF and it is a wonderful combo. It is much cheaper than Adobe and has all the same functionality from what I can tell. Cons Foxit is not the most commonly used pdf reader so some things do present better on Adobe Pdf Reader and you may need a version of it to get some documents to appear correctly. They push hard for the yearly licensing. I find that the company is what makes the experience bad, not the software itself. They are not interested in communicating with you at all. As of this writing, their website is created so that the only way you can communicate is via phone or support ticket. No email address. And when they do communicate with you they will blatantly stay they are not interested in providing a discount unless you purchase a volume license. Pros I really enjoyed the software overall. The layout, the tab structure of having multiple PDFs open, and all the editing options out in the open. I find it significantly easier to use than Adobe Acrobat. Cons There is nothing I didn't like about the software. It takes a Microsoft Office approach to the layout, which most people are familiar with. Very easy to use. Sadly, the company makes it incredibly difficult to reach someone, and although the company boasts being a cheaper option than Adobe, they certainly don't care about helping on the expensive standalone license. Reason for choosing Foxit PDF Reader No. Simply the fact that FoxIt didn't care to even provide a $5 discount on the standalone license, it showed me they did not care about small business or assisting with reducing the price by any means. A $5 discount was more than reasonable on an overpriced price point of $179 for a standalone license. Why pay $179 for a license for FoxIt when you can get Adobe Acrobat for a little more? Pros Foxit reader is very fast in opening the PDF files for viewing, and also has many tools within in to edit and altering the PDF document. I can open multiple PDF document at the same time without making the software work slower and heavy. Cons Foxit Reader installation package is packed with bloated software and i will have do uninstall all the other additional software that are install on my computer manually.
