December 4, 2018 5.0 I think I covered most of this above, but to wrap it up, by using Details, it has allowed me to use my time more wisely. As a business owner, you wear many hats. I think that Details is a great asset to my company and plan to use it for many years to come. Pros My Favorite things about Details list: TIME MANAGEMENT- For 17 years, I used an excel spreadsheet to develop each quote. I was not efficient, and quite time consuming. Details software allows you to create a "recipe" by simply dragging and dropping the stems that you would like in each recipe. It's not only great for building the visual quote but you have the capability of pricing each individual stem, so once the recipe is done, your cost and retail price has already been calculated and entered into the stem counter document. It is simply revolutionary. It has saved me many hours through the years that I have been using this program. Costs Awareness- As I mentioned above, each stem is already priced by you. So once the recipe has been put together, it not only shows you what your cost is, but in a separate column, it shows you what you should be charging based on your mark up. This has FORCED me to see how I was unvalueing my work FOR YEARS. I showed a 12.5% increase in profits in my first year of using DETAILS. That is a HUGE amount of my blood, sweat, and tears that I was simply giving away without even realizing. Increased sales- This one is very simple. I am constantly being told by my brides that they were so impressed with the professional, detailed quote that they received from me. It makes them feel more confident with my quotes over my fellow competitors that are still doing hand written quotes with no images, and very little detail. Cons I have been with Details for approx 3.5 years. I started with them in the beginning and have gone through many painful updates, but I would do it all over again because then end result has seriously IMPROVED THE QUALITY OF MY LIFE! I have been a wedding floral designer for 21 years and this has been wonderful. They have integrated so many functions into this program that I love. 1. You can request quotes directly through the program 2. Stem Counter 3. Presentation 4. Costs Page is wonderful to see where you are at budget wise. Owner Retail Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great functionality but too expensive" October 27, 2024 4.0 I’m an event florist and decided to trial Details a few months ago. I spent weeks entering my recipes and items (fresh product and hard goods) in the software, getting everything customized, and setting up payments via the Stripe integration. I did my first proposal and it worked beautifully and I was all in. Then I realized that the event thresholds for pricing weren’t by month but in total. So, yes, the initial cost is only $25 per month but once you use it to go over 10 events total the price skyrockets to $150 per month which just isn’t feasible when your a newer small business who isn’t making thousands of dollars in profit every month. Admittedly it was my mistake in misunderstanding the pricing structure, but paying more than $50 a month for proposal software just doesn’t make sense for me. Other than that I really did enjoy it and think it would be an awesome option for larger florists. I’m back to HoneyBook, Every Stem and Canva (yes, all 3 are still much cheaper than $150 a month). Pros Beautiful proposals, allows you to store your recipes, inspo pics, and update pricing on items. Contract and invoicing integration. The floral reference photos are not good quality at all, and it’s a shame being that this is a floral industry software. Like I said, I do love the look once everything is together, but I feel like some of the design features need tweaking. I previously used Canva to create mood boards and I loved the flexibility it provided. With all of that being said, your customer service is absolutely amazing and I've never left a call feeling like my issues weren't resolved. The best aspect of Details of all though is the customer service, from the tutorial videos to being able to identify issues. The team is responsive and trouble shoots quickly. Pros Details is a very good program that all in one allows you to create stunning proposals, load up recipes and create back end schedules for delivery. It's fabulous having all of it in one place. Cons Details is short sighted. It is not really set up for shop work, and yet it lacks in the complexity and variety of events. Not every florist takes only one wedding. Many of us take several. Some of those events are corporate. There is not reflection of that in the program. Not all weddings have a bride and a groom. Not all events have personal flowers. I chose details because it had the most attractive interface for clients with the best ease of use for me on the back-end. I am confident that in time the "cons" I have (which are really only related to uploading more images) will be something that is addressed and included within the software. I am very happy with the software and am excited to see how this helps business run more smoothly during the busy months. Pros I love how easy it is to build recipes and auto-populate an order. The final proposal that goes out to the client is attractive and looks very personalized which was a "must-have" for me being in a design field. I know they are developing more template options also, so this is exciting. The software feels intuitive and is very easy to understand and use. Each time I produce a proposal it gets easier and easier and I am confident this will save a lot of time. I love how easy building a recipe is; I used to build them at the end before ordering but building them out from the get go will help significantly in the busier months. I am new to the software but so far I am so so impressed and happy I chose Details. The customer service support I've received when figuring out the software has been friendly, attentive and knowledgable. Cons There is only space to upload 1 inspiration photo per item; I would love the functionality to add more than one as this is necessary often to communicate design concepts. Also more font and proposal template options but I know that is in the works. Really the only con for me is the limited inspiration images you can upload (I have found some "hacks" to do this....like loading into the "items" photo area where recipe item photos are, but the images are very small and this does not show as well). Currently I am sending an additional PDF to clients if need be, but again, it would be ideal if this was all rolled into the software (or at least I could upload the PDF into the software so all client files are truly in one place). Pros it has the stem counting / costing / ordering features I need with a beautiful proposal and a reasonable price. Customer service is responsive. No surprise up charges like my last software. Cons Client relationship management is very limited - I currently use another software in conjunction for this. and Accounting /reporting options are very limited - I also use other software for this as well. Clients love their proposals and the fact that they can see everything in one document. We also love how easy it is to update a client's order. Pros With Details we can easily create proposals and customize them to our clients. Changes to the templates and individual proposal are easy. Creating recipes is easy as well and just as customizable. Cons Setting dates and times in the system is clunky. The calendar doesn't come up on the current year so you scroll down for a date if it's in the next year and setting times is a scroll down as well. February 23, 2024 5.0 I have been using Details software since 2018 and have really not had a problem. The little hiccups that I have had the support staff has been on top of the problem. Pros I like the setting up my own recipes. The look and being able to change templates for different Brides. All the info that the Bride sees when they get their proposal. Cons I would love to be able to see the address where the flowers will be delivered to, not just the venue location. My Brides really get confused by that little tid bit. They have to be rolling their eyes when I call because I feel like I call all the time but they never make you feel like you have a dumb question or you're wasting their time. If they don't have an answer, which is rare, they will get you one within a day. Pros I love the overall beauty of the finished proposal and my brides love it too. I love not having to do math in my head anymore, on the fly, with a bride sitting next to me and the pressures on. I can work on the proposals on my time and the software tallies as I go. This keeps my profits up and I can set my prices higher if I'm not sure what I will be charged by my suppliers. It takes the guess work out of everything! There really is no need to meet in person anymore unless the brides choose to. Cons One update I don't like at all is having to save all the time. This never used to be. It gets old and takes time. If you don't save you lose your changes and you can't leave a page without a save. The software is prompting you to save, even after a save, just when you want to go to another page. This is something they really need to fix. Also no customer support on weekends. I'm busy working 7 days a week so to be down for 2 and a half days is annoying sometimes. To address your request about the Save button, we are working to resolve this new addition. As you know, sometime things take refining before they are perfect, and this update gets us one step closer to a more uniform system. Changing user behavior can be a challenge for us too! June 5, 2018 4.0 Pros I appreciate that they are constantly updating the software based on feedback. The new dashboard is so helpful!!!! The ability to create recipes and have them translate into an easy stem count order form has saved me a lot of time. I love that the system tracks payments (I used to use a spreadsheet) and has an integrated cc processing system. It also ensures all your items are correctly added. (I used to use a spreadsheet and had issues with formulas not integrating newly added items. No more mistakes now that I use this system.) The template gives a professional product to share with my clients. I love the ability to hide sections that I don't feel are necessary, customize images, have the contract terms and financials all integrated into 1 document. Genius to be able to mail clients a link and have them electronically sign it. Also great to be able to expire the proposal to discourage price shoppers. Great customer service. Whenever I get stuck, they call me back and are friendly and patient. Cons Empty pages within the proposal. I would love the ability to hide them. I realize it has to do with automatic page breaks, but it bothers me. Wish I could adjust contract and payment terms at an individual level. ex: standard terms are great for normal clients, but I have several last minute customers where we need abbreviated payment terms. April 24, 2020 5.0 Overall my workflow and my cost of doing business has improved thanks to Details. I no longer spend hours creating and revising a proposal. After all, time is money! Another issue I was having prior to Details was overbuying. With Details I'm able to view subtotals of items used on my design worksheet which has really helped tighten up my flower orders. I'm no longer over buying! Pros With Details I can easily and quickly create and deliver professional floral design proposals! I'm able to draft, save and then later edit recipes as needed throughout the design process. The software not only has helped to develop and sell my designs by use of the item gallery resource but has helped me to calculate the correct amount for markup, labor, delivery, tax, etc. No more crazy math in complicated spread sheets! I've also noticed that clients are quicker to book when they can digitally sign a contract and submit payments online with the credit card option integrated via Stripe. Cons I'm not tech savvy so I did need to take the time to become familiar with the program before I felt comfortable. However any bump in the road I came across the customer support that Details provides is so quick to respond and help whether you're learning, need help with an issue, or have a request/feedback! Not only am I able to present beautiful proposals to my clients but it allows my team members to help with proposals and learn the process of detailed designing. Clients really appreciate visual aspects so this program truly gives us that extra specialty service that our clients love and value. Cons I would love to see an option to where you can separate out the grooms portion on the proposal. We like to send them over a separate invoice for the items they handle which is traditionally the bride's bouquet, mother's/grandmother's nosegays and boutonnieres and it would be super helpful if we could do this within the existing proposal. :) I would also love to see easier search features. Pros The visual "proposal" that is produced is a real game changer. The recipe formats and "documents" based on the proposal help you prepare orders and production lists in minutes , NOT hours. Overall it is a huge time saver once up and running. Time is money, so it's really helped us streamline our processes and keep on track with costs. Cons Details is best and most effective once your "items" and "recipe" libraries are built to your needs. This requires you to organize and add your custom items. It is night and day from what I was using before to complete all of these tasks, and has made everything easier - from proposal design, to creating flower recipes, to pricing arrangements for increased profitability, to contracts, to payments. My business is more profitable, my clients pay and sign contracts much faster, and I feel much more organized. Pros Details has been hugely helpful in streamlining my sales/design/invoicing/and ordering process into one all-inclusive software. I went from using 3-4 different applications to service my clients, to using one software that does everything. The Event Dashboard makes it so easy to just open it up and check availability or track where clients are at in the process. Cons The interface does not feel particularly modern or smooth and options for customizing/formatting the proposal are slightly limited, which makes it slightly less fun to use. But all of the necessary functions are there, and I still get plenty of compliments on the proposals and how clean/organized they are. Overall a great design.
