April 24, 2020 5.0 Overall my workflow and my cost of doing business has improved thanks to Details. I no longer spend hours creating and revising a proposal. After all, time is money! Another issue I was having prior to Details was overbuying. With Details I'm able to view subtotals of items used on my design worksheet which has really helped tighten up my flower orders. I'm no longer over buying! Pros With Details I can easily and quickly create and deliver professional floral design proposals! I'm able to draft, save and then later edit recipes as needed throughout the design process. The software not only has helped to develop and sell my designs by use of the item gallery resource but has helped me to calculate the correct amount for markup, labor, delivery, tax, etc. No more crazy math in complicated spread sheets! I've also noticed that clients are quicker to book when they can digitally sign a contract and submit payments online with the credit card option integrated via Stripe. Cons I'm not tech savvy so I did need to take the time to become familiar with the program before I felt comfortable. However any bump in the road I came across the customer support that Details provides is so quick to respond and help whether you're learning, need help with an issue, or have a request/feedback! Literally the best customer support team I've ever experienced, hands down! I can call in, schedule a call online, live chat, and email to resolve any issues. Owner Events Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Needs Updating" March 10, 2021 4.0 It's works for now. I may reevaluate next year. Support is great but it's not easy to suggest changes and I don't see that any are being implemented. For how old the company is, I expected better. There are many ways that they could improve it and make it more user friendly. Pros The support is fast and friendly. The main reason for buying this software is the built in flower pricing. It was fairly easy to start using but I think learning this software was probably easier for me because I've used 3 different types of similar software in the past. Cons I'd like to be able to customize the templates more. I need more space for inspiration photos and would like to make it more on brand with my own font etc. I need to be able to drag and drop photos to make it faster. I need to be able to save PDFs so that I have planner's mood boards etc. at hand. I was expecting more inventory to be in there- there are many flowers that are very typically used that aren't there. The Accent Decor items are old and need to be updated, so they aren't very useful. After you get used to using it, you realize how flexible it is in the options, and it gets super easy to use. Pros Everything changed for the better when I started using Details. Getting an accurate, beautiful, professional proposal out the door faster, made my life easier. More importantly, it helped create client confidence. I love having everything at my fingertips in one place, and Details does a good job of making you feel like you're part of a 'community' with their additional resources. I can't imagine running my business without it. Cons The resources, design board, gallery isn't super intuitive to use, so it takes some time to get used to it. However, Details continues to make updates, and listens to feedback. Reason for choosing Details Flowers I looked briefly at a few different products, but Details had the best marketing materials (I was able to watch a video before committing to anything), customer service, and pricing incentives. Also, the free trial gave me an opportunity to try it out before buying. All of these things, gave me the confidence to jump in. July 15, 2019 5.0 Most Clients are not visual and not too terribly educated about the bounty of flower and greenery options available to them. Peonies and Roses aren't for everyone, so why not provide photos of the actual plants you want to use in the proposal? I wasn't doing this because it was so time consuming. Details solved that problem and upgraded the perception of my work through their professional proposal platform. I realized I was short-changing my work by incorrectly calculating the markup, not charging an Admin fee, or separate labor fee. This Ah Ha Moment was provided courtesy of the rep in the Details basic training class. Pros The integration of photos, inspiration, recipe, items gallery have made it much easier for my clients to understand what they are getting for their money without me having to make samples! I also like the customization capabilities, and I can't forget to mention the fabulous customer service and support team from Details! Cons Having to develop each gallery with my own recipes, items, photos and pricing, it's time consuming! It would be super helpful if your clients had the open to share recipes and post photos into the gallery. A one click "Share" button that would update the the mail details galleries would be terrific; saving everyone a lot of time and creating a more robust selling point for Details. A bit more expensive that other products, but I'm hopeful it will pay for itself once I get the databases loaded and can use it proficiently and save time and increase my sales. Pros Details has been super helpful in many different ways for my company. Not only am I able to present beautiful proposals to my clients but it allows my team members to help with proposals and learn the process of detailed designing. Clients really appreciate visual aspects so this program truly gives us that extra specialty service that our clients love and value. Cons I would love to see an option to where you can separate out the grooms portion on the proposal. We like to send them over a separate invoice for the items they handle which is traditionally the bride's bouquet, mother's/grandmother's nosegays and boutonnieres and it would be super helpful if we could do this within the existing proposal. :) I would also love to see easier search features. Sometimes the florals I am searching in the database will not pull up unless I place it in the search bar exactly how it reads. Happy to explain this if it sounds confusing. Pros I love how this software helps me to keep my prices and margins where they should be, there is no more guessing or uncertainty. I have a much clearer picture of what my costs are going in so I can quote and budget with confidence. The proposal templates are so organized and beautiful. I feel like they really give me that wow factor when sending proposals to prospective brides. Cons I wish that the worksheet would auto save instead of me having to hit the save button. I have lost info a few times when I didn't save on one device and then opened the document on another device. Looks very professional and polished, saves me time--and therefore money. Provides a back-up verification system for payments to compare with my spreadsheets. Pros I like the time is saves me when I have to make adjustments to a proposal--it used to take me FOREVER to re-crunch the numbers for entire recipes, now it is seconds. Also my favorite feature is definitely the order sheet that tells me how much I need of everything. and lastly--being able to print up individual recipes has been a total game-changer when it comes to production time. So easy for my team to pull stems and get to work. LOVE IT! Cons There is a definite learning curve on using the software and I have made many mistakes--usually it involves forgetting to check a box or entering a quantity improperly. This is definitely user error but it has cost me on occasion. (for instance adding an item to a proposal--but putting that I need 0 of them. So the client is expecting this item, but the price does not reflect the costs involved). I don't find that the software is as intuitive as I would like. But the upside is that the customer service is really excellent... Very responsive, friendly, helpful and good at not making you feel stupid. Our business is a visual business, our clients LOVE seeing what they are getting prior to their event. Our staff loves seeing what we are producing. In general it's software made for event florists and boy did we NEED it. Oh and I am pretty sure it is a WOMEN owned and operated business, so thats awesome too. Pros The visual "proposal" that is produced is a real game changer. The recipe formats and "documents" based on the proposal help you prepare orders and production lists in minutes , NOT hours. Overall it is a huge time saver once up and running. Time is money, so it's really helped us streamline our processes and keep on track with costs. Cons Details is best and most effective once your "items" and "recipe" libraries are built to your needs. This requires you to organize and add your custom items. However, the support team is CONSTANTLY offering really helpful workshops and on line tutorials. It is helpful but I think it could be more streamlined. Cons I would like to flexibility to customize the proposals so they do not look like the proposals from other florists using the software. I am not impressed with some of the templates (maybe I am not using them to make mine look unique) I would not pay for the ones from high end florists which cost a lot of money. Pros Details has really helped us to get organized and allows us to keep almost all of our client info in one place (flower orders, event info, client details, etc.) It also makes storing recipes much easier and has significantly decreased the time it takes us to make proposals. Their customer service team is fantastic, and I have no doubt that they are trying to provide the best client experience possible. Cons It definitely has a little bit of an outdated interface that is missing some common features in modern SAAS products (eg. autosave). There are also controls that could be smoothed out to reduce redundancy. It also is not a CMS. Owner/President Events Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great program to streamline our business" April 28, 2020 4.0 We are solving our pricing guidelines this program by being able to see the cost of each flower and item being added to each individual recipe, and minimizing errors in our client contracts which was also costing us in the end Pros This software greatly helped minimize errors in simple math, floral orders & recipes, and overall quantities on our client proposals . We have a pretty large inventory for a small company , so updating the item gallery to reflect each and every item took some time but overall transferring our previous client contracts to the software was pretty simple. Cons The biggest feature we feel is missing is a feature to track amounts of inventory sold on each individual day and notify when an item is oversold. We have spoken with your team & know the feature is on the way, which we will benefit from . It is night and day from what I was using before to complete all of these tasks, and has made everything easier - from proposal design, to creating flower recipes, to pricing arrangements for increased profitability, to contracts, to payments. My business is more profitable, my clients pay and sign contracts much faster, and I feel much more organized. Pros Details has been hugely helpful in streamlining my sales/design/invoicing/and ordering process into one all-inclusive software. I went from using 3-4 different applications to service my clients, to using one software that does everything. The Event Dashboard makes it so easy to just open it up and check availability or track where clients are at in the process. Cons The interface does not feel particularly modern or smooth and options for customizing/formatting the proposal are slightly limited, which makes it slightly less fun to use. But all of the necessary functions are there, and I still get plenty of compliments on the proposals and how clean/organized they are. Overall a great design. Details is definitely tailored to florist's needs. Pros The proposals are beautiful and the selection of flowers and containers during the consultation presentation is impressive when working with clients. We get positive feedback regarding the proposals which present well with our high end client's expectations. We definitely have a strong conversion rate with the beauty of the proposals and the ease of the contract signing process. The software is easy to use and has great features for recipes, checklists and organization. My staff love the recipe worksheets. Cons Getting the initial templates and recipes loaded is time consuming. We wish our local/favorite wholesale company was signed on. We don't like the extra credit card fees with Stripe. We wish the financials and invoicing would work with QuickBooks. We are definitely geared towards a florists, and although a lot the same, the flexibility to add whatever you want is a bonus, but can be tedious to add your entire inventory. We are always looking for ways to make this easier and more complete. May 4, 2020 5.0 Pros Creating clients and events is incredibly easy. There is a space to note almost any pertinent information for each event, which makes for simpler logistical planning and better trend tracking. The background capabilities of the software make building recipes and proposals easier than the world's best spreadsheet ever could. Compiling event-specific photos, each line item's details, company terms and conditions, and financial breakdowns in one clean document makes proposals look great! Web-based signatures and payments are perfect for the tech-forward world! Cons It would be so helpful if inspiration photos could be organized into different categories, instead of "ALL" and "Event Inspiration." I think we would benefit if the automatic updates to event information would include sending/opening the document so that we know when a client has viewed the proposal. Pros The ability to show not only all the flowers available, but also your in house inventory, linens, structures and misc products. It counts my stems, pulls my inventory, reminds me of payments due, stores contracts, coordinates my life as a planner. It basically is my Assistant....I can reach out to clients not only from my studio , but on any device tablet even my phone if I am out in the field. Instead of rummaging through files and trying to decipher my own handwriting, I can pull up every detail of a clients event including other vendors, timing, and wholesalers, swiftly and accurately. Cons With Details Flowers' team, there is nothing I don't like about the software. They are always there to listen to their clients (us)about what could work more efficiently and they are constantly implementing new tools.
