I cannot imagine ever working with another company and anyone who is looking for a video hosting platform for their business owes it to evaluate SproutVideo. Pros As a heavy user of SproutVideo, I must say that my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The platform offers some amazing features and get consistent compliments on my virtual exhibit hall. What truly sets this SproutVideo apart is its exceptional customer service. Whenever I encounter any issues or have questions, the support team is always quick to respond and incredibly helpful. Their professionalism and dedication to resolving any issues and getting creative to make SproutVideo work for me is rare in the SAAS space. It is a strong platform for hosting, managing, and automating video content, especially where API control is important. For our workflow, where large numbers of custom videos are generated automatically and then need to be hosted and embedded reliably, Sprout Video has worked very well. The service is easy enough to use once the correct setup is in place, performance has been good, and the platform provides the flexibility we need without forcing us into a much more expensive tier. The combination of reliable hosting, API capability, useful connector options, good customer support, and sensible pricing makes it a service we are very happy with. Pros Sprout Video has been a very good fit for our API-driven video automation workflow. We use it to host hundreds of custom videos generated automatically through our content pipeline, and the ability to control and manage those videos through the API has been particularly valuable. The platform offers a wide range of connection options and flexible ways to embed and manage video content across different scenarios. For our use case, this flexibility was one of the strongest parts of the service. Customer support was also excellent. The support team understood what we needed, even when we had not fully defined the technical requirement ourselves, and they were able to guide us towards the correct setup. Cons The main challenge was identifying the right connector and setup approach for our specific use case. We will soon be exceeding the package we are on, and we will be happy to take the next package up once we have the requirement (and enough videos). Pros Difficult not to mention the price. The pricing combined with the features is the best that I know of. Being able to replace a video to the same ID after it being published is brilliant since amends can be done and our system is still able to load the video without having to update our database. The different video versions that the player has available makes it useable on all modern devices, and serves a video quality based on the internet connection which is what drew me to Sprout in the first place. Cons It would be good if we could configure the video details whilst the video is processing rather than having to wait for the video to finish processing. However I always end up going over my bandwidth limit, which adds to the cost. On top of that some competitors offer native playback in the Patreon app, similar security features, as well as more bandwith and storage, for a lot less money once it goes over 100gb. Pros What I like most is the peace of mind it gives me when sharing videos on platforms like Patreon. Compared to using something like Google Drive, SproutVideo offers a much more secure solution that helps protect my content from being easily leaked. The platform is also very user-friendly and straightforward to set up, making the video upload and management process smooth and efficient. Cons The biggest downside for me is the lack of compatibility with the Patreon app. Videos hosted on SproutVideo can't be watched directly in the Patreon iOS app so my subscribers are forced to log into their Patreon account on Safari in order to watch my content. None of them are this good, or this customer-centric. I have been burned by bad updates, player changes and fraudulent account billing practices. I have even been taken completely offline by other vendors...multiple times. Ouch! Sprout has done none of these things...they are the opposite, they are solid support, timely and consistent upgrades that MAKE SENSE! I have used them for years, Sprout has been great to work with! Pros I really enjoy the customer service aspect to a video CDN service. The service is very predictable and easy to use and comes with most of the bells and whistles you could want. As with any service, you will run into a point where something will fail to work correctly. This is where chat-window support is awesome. The developers actually care and respond with helpful ideas and even code snippets to get you through an unexpected rough patch. 10 times better than JW Player! Cons The only one thing I do not like...and this is a picky thing on my part. If you want to "rewind" your videos to the beginning when you are done, you need to use a small script.
