Smooth and just works exactly the way I expect it which as a business owner is a huge deal. Surprises are rarely welcome and the amazing customer support just puts it over the top. Having used multiple other platforms like YouTube, Wistia, Vimeo, Hippo Video, etc. all of which do a solid job. I cannot imagine ever working with another company and anyone who is looking for a video hosting platform for their business owes it to evaluate SproutVideo.

Pros

As a heavy user of SproutVideo, I must say that my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The platform offers some amazing features and get consistent compliments on my virtual exhibit hall. What truly sets this SproutVideo apart is its exceptional customer service. Whenever I encounter any issues or have questions, the support team is always quick to respond and incredibly helpful. Their professionalism and dedication to resolving any issues and getting creative to make SproutVideo work for me is rare in the SAAS space. I highly recommend this platform to any businesses looking for a reliable and user-friendly video hosting service.

Cons

Nothing... The system works amazingly well for my needs and every time I come up with a feature request or something I need they are quick to solve it and add it to their roadmap. Maybe the ability to capture emails at the end of a video vs the start and then feed it using Zapier to other platforms but that's minor and it wouldn't surprise me if that's something they are working on.

Overall, our experience with Sprout Video has been very positive. It is a strong platform for hosting, managing, and automating video content, especially where API control is important. For our workflow, where large numbers of custom videos are generated automatically and then need to be hosted and embedded reliably, Sprout Video has worked very well. The service is easy enough to use once the correct setup is in place, performance has been good, and the platform provides the flexibility we need without forcing us into a much more expensive tier. The combination of reliable hosting, API capability, useful connector options, good customer support, and sensible pricing makes it a service we are very happy with.

Pros

Sprout Video has been a very good fit for our API-driven video automation workflow. We use it to host hundreds of custom videos generated automatically through our content pipeline, and the ability to control and manage those videos through the API has been particularly valuable. The platform offers a wide range of connection options and flexible ways to embed and manage video content across different scenarios. For our use case, this flexibility was one of the strongest parts of the service. Customer support was also excellent. The support team understood what we needed, even when we had not fully defined the technical requirement ourselves, and they were able to guide us towards the correct setup. Combined with the entry-level pricing tier, which fits our current usage comfortably, Sprout Video feels like very good value for money.

Cons

The main challenge was identifying the right connector and setup approach for our specific use case. Because Sprout Video offers so many options, it took more live testing than expected to confirm the correct route. Even after testing, we still needed to circle back, double-check parts of the setup, and make some adjustments to how the video embed code was configured. This was not a major issue, but it did create some extra friction during implementation. A guided setup wizard, or an AI assistant that could talk through the exact scenario, recommend the right connector, and help run validation tests, would make the onboarding process much smoother for technical users with custom requirements.

SproutVideo has become the backbone of our training and self-service video offerings. It integrates well with our WordPress site, and the login management capabilities have let us rethink how we deliver training content to customers, individualizing access in a way we couldn't with Vimeo.

Pros

The UI strikes a great balance between simplicity and power. It's easy to navigate day to day, but still lets us fine tune a lot of settings on individual videos. The standout feature for us has been login management, which lets us grant access to training videos on an individual basis. That's been a huge upgrade from Vimeo, which we migrated away from in May.

Cons

Nothing major to report so far. We've been using SproutVideo for about four months now and it's been smooth going.

Decent. it can be very good if it satisfies your needs, but as my content grew and I needed more features I had to move on.

Pros

Quick load time for viewing videos. Also I liked the easy mthods to download my content for local storage.

Cons

It didnt track the watch time per user per video. I wanted to have an individual view for each user in my account and I had to switch providers.

My overall experience with SproutVideo was excellent. From the start, it gave me a clean, professional way to host and share my video work without the distractions and clutter of other platforms. What I liked least about SproutVideo was honestly hard to pin down, because the pricing was great for what you get. My one wish is that there had been an annual payment option. Being able to pay yearly instead of monthly would have saved a little money and cut down on the recurring billing to keep track of. It is a small thing, but for a business owner managing a lot of moving parts, that kind of flexibility goes a long way. Otherwise, the value was solid and I had very few complaints.

It has been easy uploading. I particularly like the feature that allows me to upload updated videos without having to change the embed codes on my website.

Pros

It is not YouTube. Users to my not-for-profit educational website can view my instructional videos without ads, without Google tracking, and without Google making money off of my content.

Cons

I hope the technical team will work on developing code that would allow embedding videos in an interactive ePub (v3.2), etc.

It's been a huge learning curve for us, but overall very satisfied with the functionality of the Sprout Video server and the kindness and reactivity of staff for our issues.

Pros

We recently transferred our video database to Sprout Video and are super happy with the results so far. We love how easy it is to customize and integrate the videos into our Patroen page. Any issues and work arounds have been quickly resolved with the customer care team at our service.

Cons

Often we are unable to upload directly from mobile (probably due to a cloud error on our end), so we need to first transfer it to a computer and then from there upload via a web browser. It would be great to have a built in editor on SproutVideo so we could trim the videos that are already uploaded. We have also learned that we are not able to upload any videos shot vertically as it results in a crop malfunction on the streamer's end.

I do not use all the features. I create online courses and I use Sprout to host any video components. I embed the video link into the course and it is transparent to the course taker that they have left my site. I appreciate how easy it is to do that and that the videos show full-screen.

Pros

Simple and straightforward to use. I can embed videos in a course and and they are integral to the rest of the material.

Cons

Sometimes it seems to take a bit longer to process a video once uploaded. Not a big deal considering I am not uploading very many videos at a time.

I'm really satisfied with SproutVideo. I was looking for an alternative to YouTube (where I used to host my videos) and now I'm really happy of my choice.

Pros

I think the price is fair, and the quality of video is great too. I love the analytics that let me check how many people are watching my videos and for how long.

Cons

Maybe I would like to have a better player, one that remembers where you quit watching a video so you can start from that exact same point the next time (my videos are quite long and people often watch them in more than one sitting)

It's been great. I used it a few years ago for a non profit that I was Exec. Dir. of. It worked great then and still works great.

Pros

Other video hosting sources tell you that user data is not available. Sprout makes it available at a reasonable cost. It is important for my training to be able to provide who watched a video and for what length of time.

Cons

Seems like sometimes the options that are selected do not work on the first try. I have to reselect them and save them again. No big deal though.

Using SproutVideo has been extremely easy. I've only contacted the support team once and they were very helpful. Their documentation is excellent and their service works as expected.

Pros

We needed a place to host our recorded webinars and training, along with many of our DVDs converted to a digital format. Top priorities were: 1) easy of use 2) difficult for people to download/pirate 3) stats for the # of plays, engagement and location of the viewers 4) affordable. SproutVideo fit all of these requirements

Cons

I can't think of anything we dislike. We've used the service for many years and have a "legacy" plan that no longer exists. It falls somewhere in between the current Seed and Sprout plans. If I were signing up today, I'd definitely need to reassess the best plan.

Just been a breeze, I haven't had any problems or complaints and exploring and experimenting with some of the features have been great.

Pros

Probably ease of use and value for money vs some of the other options I was looking at

I can only say that the only thing i miss is not having chapter markers or other options for the style of the video interface.

Fantastic, very pleased. Tech guy found it really easy to set up and use. Upload is a snap and the option to upload your own holding image is very useful.

Pros

Not alot, I did find that there were limited tabs on the homepage which made it challenging to set up the video wall.

Overall, user satisfaction is very high. I wish SproutVideo could provide more pricing options to allow slightly cheaper alternatives, to choose, especially when usage is low for a particular season.

Pros

I love how there are so many options to customize how my clients will view the videos. The expiry dates work well and it gives me good control over who, when and how I want to show individual users.

Cons

I'm not sure how secure it is when it comes to people potentially replicating videos while streaming them on their monitor. (screen capturing).

We have used them for countless year and never had a complaint. We are paying more as we built up our library of recorded webinars, but we believe the pricing is reasonable, considering the value to our members.

Pros

We are so happy to be able to store years of recorded learning content without breaking our tiny budget. We love the password-protected video features - we believe the right people are getting access and the others are not.

I have used other CDN's including JW Player. None of them are this good, or this customer-centric. I have been burned by bad updates, player changes and fraudulent account billing practices. I have even been taken completely offline by other vendors...multiple times. Ouch! Sprout has done none of these things...they are the opposite, they are solid support, timely and consistent upgrades that MAKE SENSE! I have used them for years, Sprout has been great to work with!

Pros

I really enjoy the customer service aspect to a video CDN service. The service is very predictable and easy to use and comes with most of the bells and whistles you could want. As with any service, you will run into a point where something will fail to work correctly. This is where chat-window support is awesome. The developers actually care and respond with helpful ideas and even code snippets to get you through an unexpected rough patch. 10 times better than JW Player!

Cons

The only one thing I do not like...and this is a picky thing on my part. If you want to "rewind" your videos to the beginning when you are done, you need to use a small script. Support provided me with a code sample that worked and everything was groovy. While this was fine, I feel like it should be a check box option.
