Once the system is setup, it is virtually problem free. Like any other self hosted software solution, you must continuallty monitor it for health. And the customer support is some of the best that I've encoutered in my more then 25 years in I.T. Managment. Pros The platform is easy to use and provides a simple way to produce recorded presentations without having to have a full video crew. Cons 1) The editing functions are very limited2) The re-encoding time is really slow.2) The download feature is extremely slow and cumbersome.4) The sharing of individual links in the Channels is not there, but it use to be available in Catalogs. Pros We use mediasite on a daily basis and is great at capture videos, editing recordings, and distributing these videos evenly throughout the department as needed. Cons The accessibility amongst my colleagues to take over my admin duties with mediasite can be difficult but something that could be worked on. Cons I find that processing the videos and captures take a long a time, even for short videos. Editing or cutting videos also take a long time to process. In additional, uploading a small 50 Mb video to mediasite can balloon to several hundred Mb or even Gb. July 24, 2018 5.0 Pros Easy to use. Customer support is amazing! Always answer the phone and go out of their way to help. Cons Price is very expensive. But you get what you pay for. If they have made major changes to the platform, I would be interested in hearing what they've done as the quality was good for the time Pros Capture cart in the classroom was nice, but clunky in the debate of cloud/on-site storage the on-site means you have full control of data Cons automatic names were so difficult to navigate that it seemed like they were designed to make switching away more difficult Review Source SD Sasheena D. It isn’t a hassle to use it and it gets the job done. Pros I’ve used this software for a little over a year and I’m happy to have done so. It is very easy to use and I’m in aw of the customer support. Always so ready to help and they do know a lot about the product they are offering as opposed to some other companies.
