Before using Eventlog Analyzer, working with logs from different sources involved more manual processes and significantly longer log investigation time for identifying a certain security or system event. Having them centralized with search, alerts, and configurable reports has decreased the time of my daily investigation of routine events by 30-40%, especially when working with older archived data. I appreciate having configurable log archives and the possibility to back up the database/installation and, in general, the software provides good value for the cost without overcomplicating the daily log review tasks.

Pros

The information that I found to be the most attractive about the solution was ease of collecting and searching logs from different sources and the availability of dashboards and reports that allow to quickly find outliers without sifting through logs. What else stands out to me as a strong point is that it is web-based. It makes it possible to check the console remotely when needed, while the user roles and permissions help secure the data. As for cost, the amount of log analysis, alerts, reporting, and log archiving that comes with the software makes it worthwhile.

Cons

The interface can take a little time to get used to, and customer support could sometimes be a bit quicker with less straightforward issues.

I have found Manage Engine Eventlog Analyzer to be a solid mid-tier SIEM and log management solution, especially for on-premises environments. It finds a balance between affordability, compliance features, and security monitoring though it has some limitations compared to high-end SIEM solutions like Splunk or IBM QRadar.

Pros

One of Manage Engine EventLog Analyzer's best qualities is how simple it is to use and deploy compared to other log management solutions, which makes it easier for those without advanced SIEM knowledge to complete the initial configurations. It can collect logs from Windows, Linux, firewall, routers and cloud services in one place. Eventlog Analyzer supports Syslog, SNMP, WMI, and agent-based log collection.

Cons

There is a minimum device quantity purchase requirement for Evenlog Analyzer's per-device licensing model. For example, the smallest number of syslog device licenses that you can purchase is 10. Therefore, even if your environment does not contain 10 syslog devices, you still need to buy 10.

I loved how easy this software was to configure. I had all my logs pointed to it and flowing nicely in no time at all. It makes it very easy to look at your data and get a grasp of what is happening on your network.

Cons

It was a little costly compared to some of the alternatives out there. There are some good open source options out there.
