Ops Manager Used the software for: Less than 1 year ### "Trainual Is Straightforward, Practical, and Smooth" December 1, 2022 5.0 Trainual is really easy to use for both admins and users. I love that we can all reference the same materials very easily, and everyone knows what training they have yet to complete at a glance. Pros Honestly, I like how modern it looks the most. Previously, our company used Zoho and it had a lot of features, but it didn't look smooth. When you're trying to learn something new, you need as few distractions as possible. With Trainual's polished look, you're able to focus. On the administrator side, you can create everything you need without any training. Just take a moment to plan out your training, and you'll be alright. Cons The only gripe I have is the assessments. Zoho had a lot of options for the question types, and in Trainual I was hoping for the same. I adapted many of the questions that I migrated over, so it's okay, but having different question types helps break up the monotony. We have to ask a lot of questions in certain training modules, so this really helped, but this technical limitation hasn't actually held us back in practice. We continue to love Trainual. Communicating and standardizing processes has always plagued veterinary managers and this program allows everything to be documented and instructed in one place. Pros This software is well organized for learners, users and managers. Team members love that it can be used on their mobile phone for learning and to reference material when needed. I love the search function! I also appreciate that Trainual has stayed responsive to rolling out new improvements. Cons I wish there were more interactive activities available for the users. We use it heavily as a learning system, as well as a place to document SOP's, and we miss some of the interactive features that we had in other programs like Nearpod. The loss of this is still worth it to have the streamlined design and reporting features that Trainual offers. It has proven to be an efficient solution for streamlining our onboarding processes. The software's current capabilities have met our needs and facilitated a smoother transition for new hires.However, we acknowledge that there is untapped potential in the software that we have yet to explore fully. We recognize the importance of investing time to enter additional information and familiarize ourselves with the software's additional features. Once we allocate the necessary time for these tasks, we believe the software will enhance our onboarding processes even further.Overall, we highly recommend Trainual for its effectiveness, and we are eager to continue unlocking its full potential. Pros One of the aspects we appreciate the most is the ability to provide consistent information to our new hires in a highly efficient manner. It allows them to progress through the onboarding process at their own pace. The inclusion of quizzes within the program has significantly enhanced the learning experience. It not only reinforces their understanding but also provides a way to assess their knowledge retention. We are looking forward to the access they will have to our standard operating procedures, once we have them added to the program. Cons We would appreciate the capability for increases e-signatures without incurring additional expenses. It would be beneficial to have a solution that allows us to handle a higher volume of signatures without any added costs. Alternatively, if there was a more effective way to sign off on all policies within the program that would eliminate the need for additional e-signatures. This would simplify and streamline the process and would further enhance our onboarding experience. Wil Pagod has been there every step of the way to help me navigate when I've had questions. Pros As a training coordinator it gives me flexibility. It does not replace face to face training. But is an addition to the training program. It allows members to complete training on their time and gives us the ability to easily update said training. Cons The initial roll out was a little confusing for members who aren't computer literate. But it didn't take much training to get them up to speed. Review Source Robert K. The developers emphasised a company setup process that is intuitive and easy for a training coordinator of any level to use. I'm the primary training admin for our company - and as such the legwork involved in setting up and configuring training platforms has a very real impact on my time. This undeniably makes my job easier. Cons No API to pull training metrics. We live in the age of AI and vibe-coding. Any reasonably tech savvy person has workflows and MCP servers that work with API's - and it is a sore point that Trainual does not yet have this. Review Source Marni R. The price is absolutely worth the features that you have access to and I am so glad that I discovered Trainual when I did. Pros Trainual is incredibly user friendly with easily accessible features for the backend AND front end users. Our Team uses Trainual on a daily basis as it has the playbooks that our various Teams utilise for everything that they need to know or learn more about. I also love that you are able to share other department playbooks with everyone so that Teams have a clear overview of everyone's responsibilities and what is expected of them. Trainuals customer service and community is super helpful and I regularly find myself reading through what other people have posted to learn more about the features we have access to. They implementation Team is always looking for new ideas and very happy to take on suggestions from the users. Cons Sometimes the mobile app is a bit slow and it doesn't have all the features that the computer version has - we have a lot of Team members on the ground that use the mobile app and rely on it for information while on sites. I not only find it much easier to find information than our old system, but I also enjoy making content for my team. Pros We used an old "wiki" system for a lot of our training and documenting our processes. Trainual has enabled us to do this in a way that engages our audience much more. It has received great feedback from our new hires during the onboarding process. Cons Although it's still a new feature, I've encountered some personal issues with uploading a video directly to Trainual for hosting. It will say it may take up to 10 minutes, but do not go anywhere. I'm sure this will resolve itself after a bit! Review Source Alice G. Pros Org chart is wonderful with all the staff and leadership viewable, content creation is also great with the AI generated summaries and help writing trainings. It’s made a huge difference in how we onboard, train, and maintain consistency across departments. Having one centralized platform to document our processes and create role-specific training paths has helped reduce confusion, save time, and boost accountability—especially as we grow. That said, there are a few frustrations. The Content page gets cluttered quickly, and I wish there were folders or a better way to organize content by department (e.g., HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical). Some tools—like the quiz features and permissions settings—feel a little basic or unintuitive. But overall, the benefits outweigh the limitations, and Trainual has helped us move away from outdated or scattered training methods. It’s not a magic bullet, but it’s a solid, scalable solution that’s helped us professionalize and standardize how we train our team. Pros There are five things I like most about Trainual. Centralized knowledge hub, structured onboarding, role-based assignments, searchable & easy to update, and accountability & tracking. Cons The least things I like about Trainual are: search limitations, quiz functionality is basic, and sometimes it is hard to cross-reference between different topics and processes. I have had \[sensitive content hidden\] who have helped me get implemented on trainaul and then after implementation the follow ups have been great. Trainual is very user friendly and allows you to manage your employees training and onboarding in one place. But it also allows you to add chrome extensions to sites your company uses, so they can access training notes as they are doing the process. Pros The fact that you can assign content to specific users, the chrome extension which allows the team to follow steps while they are doing the process. The AI is a great feature to being able to ask a question and have the AI pull from all published content on Trainual is very useful and it even links where the employee can find the content. Cons Importing documents, require formatting. Somethings are harder to get on than others. Though I found some work arounds that make it easier. I know it is something that they are working on. " September 26, 2025 3.0 It's ok, basically a SOP with a good search function, you can probably get the same effect with other free softwares. The cost is extremely expensive for small businesses, so unless you have high staff turn over... It's not worth it. The site is always online which is great and the app allows you to access it anywhere you need to, but it's just not right for my business we are not overly complicated and with multiple departments. Pros Search function, UI, able to add gifs to articles, have a reminder on how much of the training an employee have completed. Cons Cost, inability to export out in a good format or easily export the documents out, they used to allow you to do editing of photos inside the app, like putting arrows and boxes around important areas but not anymore making writing new training materials much harder. It has changed onboarding significantly and made preparing tasks easier for the employees as all that needed is just one click away and new hires are easier to train and we get to observe the way things are done in the organization. Cons I have observed that there is one concern with the program that, while the search step is beneficial, the design sometimes fails to search properly using very advanced recommendations. It is a bit cumbersome as I would want when searching for specific details within the documents which can still be enhanced. Also, if you want to send a policy via PDF its not possible the display of the information is all over the place. Pros It was promising from the sales team, but the system is not great. Some of the features are useful, I am unsure if this system can be used in any company. Pros Trainual has fantastic customer service and support when learning how to use their product! It's super easy to use and has really streamlined our onboarding process! Cons There isn't much I don't love about Trainual. I look forward to more integrations! I truly don't have any major problems with their platform.
