On the whole, I couldn't be happier with how well Nextiva has worked out for me. In spite of the uncommon platform troubles, I have no hesitation in recommending Nextiva to businesses who are looking for a reliable method of communicating with their customers and employees

Pros

Nextiva's support team is available 24/7/365, including holidays and after hours. Members of the support staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. The best part about getting help is that they will work with you to find a solution, rather than just handing you a set of instructions that you may or may not be able to follow. The phone system and service are reliable and available at all times.

Cons

Basically nothing. Since we've been using Nextiva for years and it's served us well, I've opted to keep it for internal calls and for the advanced functionality that our business software lacks.

Pros

My favorite features are the texting, voicemail transcription and the fact that the app doesn't log out randomly. I do like that the caller id will show me that it is a call from Nextiva so I know its a business call and not a personal call.

Cons

I wish they had an option to have a separate ringtone

### "Unrefunded Charges After Porting Away from Nextiva"

Has anyone else experienced serious billing issues with Nextiva? We are looking for advice. We were a Nextiva customer for over eight years, and our agreement ended in May 2024. Even though the contract only required 30 days' notice, we provided more than 60 days' advance notice that we would be porting our phone numbers to another provider. Our phone numbers were successfully ported, and Nextiva stopped providing any services. However, despite this, Nextiva continued charging our credit card for five additional months, totaling $16,532.65, without our authorization. We were eventually forced to block the charges through our credit card company (Chase). Chase was able to recover four of the five months, but one full month ($3,306.53) was never refunded due to dispute time limits. This situation makes no sense, as it is unreasonable to charge customers for phone services after their numbers have already been ported away. This is particularly frustrating given our long history with Nextiva. Over eight years, they collected more than $300,000 from us, all while charging significantly more than competitors. For comparison, we now pay approximately $650 per month with our new provider versus $3,306.53 per month with Nextiva. The offboarding and dispute process has been extremely difficult. Nextiva requires disputes to be handled through arbitration in Scottsdale, Arizona, regardless of the customer's location. We are based in California, and when we filed a case locally (where the agreement was signed), Nextiva had it dismissed and insisted that we proceed in Arizona instead. This made the process costly, time-consuming, and impractical, especially for a charge related to services that were never provided. We are still seeking reimbursement of $3,306.53 for services billed after port-out, and the experience has been extremely frustrating. If anyone has faced a similar situation or has recommendations on how to resolve this, we would appreciate your insight. Think twice before choosing Nextiva! Pros

We use Nextiva VOIP for our in office phone service. I like being able to manage all of my employees phones from the portal. I can reset their voicemail passwords with ease!

Cons

My least favorite features is having to upload a WAV file for the voicemail.

Terrible. I told them to let me out of my contract, and they did.

Horrible customer service. No one could take care of multiple things. You have to be transferred multiple times with long hold time. Took them over 3 months, couldn’t get our 10DLC done. Took our next provider 2 weeks. They had no follow up.

The features most impactful to our business would be the desktop and mobility app. We are not always in the office so being able to conduct business calls from our computers or smart phone as if we were in the office allows us to grow our business without having to physically be there.

Cons

The transcription is great but doesn't always capture the voicemail correctly.

Pros

I am the owner of a growing logistics business in FL. After outgrowing Google Voice, and frustrations with another big name company out there, I was looking for a system that could grow with us as we expanded and didn't make us pay for extras that we didn't need. The sales rep. came up with the perfect plan for our small business, without trying to upsell me and without a contract! So many other companies I investigated wanted a commitment and after our bad experience with another popular company I did not want to be stuck. After 3 months of using Nextiva I couldn't be happier. My manager and I use the app on our phones and I use the app on my MacBook seamlessly. The price is right! The customer service chat is amazing! They helped to set us up and have been available to answer questions whenever we were in need. There was a little learning curve to adjust to how we do business, but it was so much easier than that other big name. Would recommend Nextiva for all your communication needs!

Cons

I like to think that I am pretty tech. savvy, but I did need help setting up our system for our team. Customer service was right there to help me though. There is also a small learning curve using the app, but you will have that with any new system you try.

Reason for choosing Nextiva

I loved that Nextiva didn't require a contract. After trying and not liking Verizon - One Talk, I was afraid to get locked into a system that would not work for us. I also liked that my sales rep. really worked to understand what my business needed. He didn't try and upsell me a system that I didn't need.

Over all - Nextiva is a great solution for small and medium sized businesses. It may be great for large businesses, but I don't have that experience to comment. The desktop clients make taking the "phone" anywhere, very easy. And the ability to route calls to any employee, at any location proves why Nextiva is so valuable to our company. We switched from RC years ago, and never looked back.

Pros

Nextiva for the most part works great and it's easy to use. When there is an update pending, it can get buggy sometimes. Customer service is friendly, although not as easy to connect with as when we started in 2014. Sometimes hold times are too long, and troubleshooting isn't easy through the automated assistance (like for any company that has that).

Cons

I have been told when people call they get a message that states the line is out of service, or cannot connect. Regardless of any tech support, the issue has not been resolved. In Nextiva's defense, it is not a repeatable problem - so fixing something that isn't easy. I kind of believe the issue started during the propagation of adding our phone lines.

Reason for choosing Nextiva

Comcast and Verizon did not understand the importance of mobility way back in 2014. I needed a system that could be portable, mobile and work from anywhere.

Pros

The physical phones were easy to handle. The app was very convenient when working from home. The quality of the phone calls were also good and most of the features were easy to implement.

Cons

In terms of features, Nextiva could improve on their conference calling to make it a bit easier to use. In regard to the company in general, they could improve their customer service experience. Wait times were long and there were a few times where we were on the line waiting and the call would drop, resulting in us having to wait even longer.

Overall, the quality and value of the service has been very positive. There is almost nothing for us to maintain in the office anymore for phones since we don't need physical equipment. The quality of the phone answering system and voice mail and menu system is the same level of professionalism we required.

Pros

Nextiva is very affordable and low lift for businesses compared to the traditional phone systems. Once we finally ditched our office phone equipment and transitioned to using Nextiva, it opened a lot more flexibility for our team to answer the phones remotely, and the quality of the VOIP audio has been consistent. We can still use it with our desk phones at the office, too.

Cons

The app UI design has been a little confusing at times for some users. But it has been improving. Sometimes the app had issues for certain users receiving or making outbound calls, but it was resolved quickly by either an app restart or by Nextiva support.

There is no perfect system out there, especially when dealing with VoIP on SIP protocols. It's always advancing, and getting better. The VoIP technology has improved so much at this point in time. By choosing Nextiva, you definitely won't lose any sleep worrying about service down time.

Pros

When it comes to picking out a VoIP SIP trunk system, you can't go wrong with Nextiva. They are trusted by many big corporations who are on VoIP systems. They are cloud based. Their provisioning team is awesome, and always willing to answer your questions. Just need to setup once and you're all set. Maintaining your directory is almost like eating cake. Technical support is only a few clicks away. Most of your technical issues can be resolved through their online chat system. There SIP trunk backbone service is on a rudundant system on USA soil. We've been with Nextiva close to two years already. I've never encountered service downtime yet. The audio is HD quality. The monthly service fees are wallet friendly. Nextive is one that you can't go wrong with.

Cons

Most of the time when our users can't use their phone it's because they get a time and date out of sync. message displayed on their phone occasionally. I'm still not sure if you can fix on your own without getting Nextiva technical support on an online chat session. That usually does the trick most of the times.

Nextiva has been easy to work with in the rare occasions my team needs support. The porting process to come over to Nextiva was equally as smooth. Nextiva has offered solutions that we didn't know we needed. Besides just VOIP services they have so many other complimentary and complementary offerings.

Pros

Nextiva is a great fit for our small business of 12 employees. We started using Nextiva in 10/2022. It was important to our company to have a VOIP phone system that could be used at the office and in our homes. Our company wanted versatility with our phone system post COVID to work from homes with an easy transition back into the office. We got free VOIP phones when signing our contract. They are good quality, current generation Yealink. There was also an option to bring your own VOIP phone (pending Nextiva supported it). The porting process was easy. We ported the entire office's phone numbers and fax numbers - Nextiva handled everything with a smooth transition. In addition to the VOIP phone service, we have been utilizing the other resources Nextiva offers. They have an app for our cell phones and computers so that we can take calls and make calls. We can also text from the Nextiva apps (mobile and computer) and I can screen shot/export into our client files easily. Nextiva even offered us solutions we didn't even know we needed - AutoAttendant. This is an amazing feature which allows the caller to route their own call instead of talking to our receptionist (ie. press 1 for Bob, press 2 for Larry, etc). AutoAttendant has freed up reception to work on other projects because 85% of calls that were going to her, are now getting routed to their respective parties.

Cons

We have not had any issues in the time we have been using Nextiva. No outages, no support issues, no porting issues, nothing. This was the most seamless experience in technology we ever had.

As a daily user/admin, would highly recommend. As I said, support is always top notch, and for me the mobile app is excellent for anyone to get me directly anywhere.

Pros

Easy of setup, ability to have phones anywhere there are ethernet connections. Support is 5\* and easy to reach

Cons

Would like a little more admin functionality such as blocking calls and not needing support for this.

Overall, Nextiva has been great. We had one issue in the past but it was resolved and the has never happened again. We still sometimes have issues with our auto attendant when we want to change it but overall, it's great.

Pros

I like how if you have any issues with the Nextiva system, you can call the help desk and get serviced fairly quickly. (some days are better than others)

Cons

This one is easy for me. What I like the least about Nextiva is a lot of times when we fix/add a change to our phone tree, it can mess up other aspects of our phone tree. What has worked in the past could break and no one understands why. This mainly happens when we try to adjust to auto attendant. We try not to change much.
