Pros I love that Google Chat is simple, reliable, and integrates well with the rest of Google Workspace. It makes communication and collaboration easy while keeping conversations organized. It makes team communication efficient by keeping messages, files, and tasks organized in one place. I also appreciate the ability to create dedicated spaces for projects and collaborate in real time. Cons The least thing I like about Goolge Chat is that the chat history disappears if you close out of your windows after 24 hours. But I just never close my windows to avoid that. Pros Google Chat has quietly become one of the most useful tools in my day-to-day life. It fills the gap between formal emails and unnecessary phone calls perfectly. For quick professional discussions, clarifications, and team collaboration, it keeps communication moving all day. It doesn’t feel overly corporate. It’s just as useful for friendly banter with colleagues as it is for work conversations. Some of the best team culture happens in those small, casual interactions. I even use it to check in with my spouse throughout the day since it’s already open on my screen. Cons I wish more of my team used it! There's a lot of competition with other platforms like Slack or Microsoft teams. You need to know who's checking which messaging system to reach them quickest. It would also be useful if it was like back in the day when minimizing the conversation didn't make it go away completely. I miss when I had the tabs along the bottom of my screen.
