Pros: My office paid for the PDF software from both of the major PDF software companies. I have used the scdocsorter program for a couple of years now as my initial tool for the organizing and preparation of files for my attorneys to review. The program allows me to avoid the unnecessary printing of hundred pages that are irrelevant to the file review. It also helps me try to avoid printing duplicate of pages. I'm also able to quickly rule in or rule out some documents that I know will not be necessary for a file review.

I can open a file from a client that has had documents scanned in over a period of years and then break that PDF down to individuals pages. I can name the file folders that I want to establish at the start of the review process so I know at the end of the process that I will have the file broken into the folder system that my attorneys are used to. If I know that it will not be necessary to read over hundreds of pages of HICFA form or bills as part of the initial file review, I can use the Group Sort Function and quickly move all of the bills to a file folder for bills. The program does not delete or erase any pages from the original PDF but simply lets you save the pages in separate files for a later review. This software will never replace the major software programs but it is a great supplement in order to perform a preliminary sorting of a PDF so the attorney or paralegal can being their review.

Cons: So far I have not had any issues with doc sorter. If anything, I find it to be very convenient and love the feature of being able to organize file materials that may contain hundreds/thousands pages of file materials that makes it easier to go back to if needed.

Pros: I liked the group sorting function, because it pre-sorted similar documents together before I reviewed them. This function saves a lot of time because I could quickly review non-relevant documents, like medical bills, and then spend more time reviewing relevant documents.

Cons: I have no real complaints with his product. The product served it's function, lived up to what it was advertised as, and it met my needs.

Pros: sorting between correspondence, medical records and medical bills keeps my files organized and easy to pull information when needed. pulls duplicates and allows you to separate from material.

Cons: so far nothing I have experienced and I have been using for the past year pretty much on a weekly basis.
