On the flip side, employees using "Android" phones can't seem to access their paystubs. Pros I use VP Spectrum for payroll only. Time entry works wonderfully and it has clear step by step instructions in Payment Process. Cons There is no APP for Canada. Paystubs are not easily accessible by employees. " July 24, 2023 4.0 My only thing is I wish Spectrum and Trimble and Vista would all merge. We thought we were going to have an applicant tracking system but come to find out that is something only Vista has not Trimble. Pros I like the ease of the flow of inputting new data. It is fairly easy to train new people on how to use the system. Cons Just wish it was more user friendly with outside sources. Review Source KT Kayla T. Office Manager & Project Coordinator Construction Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Will cost $50k+ a full-time employee for 4 months working just on this to get implementation done" July 7, 2023 2.0 It was terrible, we kicked it to the curb and took the financial loss. Pros The list of available features........... Cons We spent thousands of dollars to purchase and begin implementation. We had meeting with implementation teams of 4-5 people regularly (many of whom did not contribute but were on our dime), and during the meeting we spent an hour accomplishing very little. The training is a joke - we spent 4 hours a week at $250/hr listening to the trainer read from a script telling us to check boxes for setup that could've been set up for us before we started as it wasn't even setup specific to our company, it was the general setup and we were told we would customize it for our company during a later training. During the training, when we were actually shown how features worked, it was 15 clicks to do something and was very tedious. We would have had to do extensive training on all of our staff to learn how to use it and would then have spent thousands more to train new staff when there's turnover, which happens too often to justify our expense. I'm sure it's easy to use "once you get the hang of it", but it is not an intuitive software and will take months of use and expensive training sessions to get the hang of it. Without good customer service it is difficult to use the software correctly. Pros It covers the areas we need for our business. Cons Customer support is very poor. Whenever we have to reach out for something, it is hard to get a reply in a timely fashion. Also, with our HRM Implementation, many times the system has not been working properly, we do not get timely responses, and adequate solutions to the problems we are facing. Review Source LM Lisa M. I love the document imaging and the cloud-based usage. Cons You need to be well versed in Crystal reports to create any custom report = more money. Spectrum does not seem to review suggested features that users need despite having a place to put that. Cons Inability to customize reports. To do so, you must purchase Crystal Reports - which then won't correctly connect. Availability of Employee Kiosk is touted, but when we looked into it, were told it isn't available for Spectrum. Navigating Customer support is cumbersome. Review Source LM Lora M. AR Construction Used the software for: 2+ years ### "From an AR Perspective " December 4, 2018 4.0 Overall Spectrum is a time saver. It has helped bring project management into the loop of being able to resolve customer issues. The best part is it has allowed me to be able to work from home two days a week for a year now! Pros The navigation make it so you can figure out what you need to do next with a minimum amount of training on how to use the system. The customizable reports are a great asset. Billing reports are easy to pull together. Cons Draw Request is my least favorite in this system. When you open draw request it shows you in the upper right in financials you have previous work. The total schedule of values is NOT showing. If you have amounts in both this period and materials stored the system will not give you a total of combined for the draw. Also when you are in the draw the entire line needs to highlight while scrolling down for the line you need. It gets very frustrating at times. When something is entered into job cost under the wrong phase, there needs to be a way to change the phase and not have to do multiple entries for negative to to incorrect phase and a positive to the correct phase. July 26, 2018 5.0 I benefit daily from spectrum from payroll and certified payroll reports it really is helpful to get those reports from spectrum and every Contractor I have sent them to has excepted them. We also benefit from job costs and equipment costs management . Pros What I like most about spectrum is it really is an all in one program and is always improving, also being able to pull reports on jobs and costs is very convenient and easy. Cons Customer support be a bit time consuming. There is so much to spectrum that it can be a bit overwhelming if you are a smaller company. As previously stated, the software does almost everything we want/need it to do, but the customer service is lacking. Pros Spectrum has many different modules, and pretty much covers all areas of construction accounting. Most of the modules are easy to use, and once you get the hang of each module, there are a lot of neat tips and tricks to take advantage of. Cons Without a doubt, the worst thing about this software is the customer service. There aren't too many cons you will find with the actual software and different modules, but if you're looking for good customer service, then you will be disappointed. Some things work well as long as you follow the somewhat intuitive software. If you slightly deviate from the standard way of doing it you might find that you spend hours finding a solution. Pros Fairly few options makes it fairly user friendly Cons I've not seen a lot of the options (mostly reports) I've seen in other similar products.
