The templates have made creating imagery for social media (including YouTube) incredibly easy. Pros VistaCreate is my favourite web-based graphic editing platform. I've been using it since it was called Crello and it's a serious Canva alternative. The stock photo options are amazing. Cons The number of assets in the icon or object gallery is sometimes lacking. An increased range of assets here would be incredibly useful. " December 10, 2024 4.0 In my pros and cons I compared Vistacreate directly with Canva, Kittl, and Microsoft Designer for obvious reasons. Because Vistacreate, Canva, and Kittl are all a similar monthly price, I consider this a fair comparison. Vistacreate is a great program. It works well. It has a ton of useful tools and you can use it to quickly create designs. The program felt like it was supporting me as the creator. However, with a significant lack of graphical assets and a poor search tool, Vistacreate is significantly harder to use to create a truly creative design. I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase a lifetime license of Vistacreate through Appsumo, which makes it an AMAZING deal that I would wholeheartedly recommend. However, at the normal price of around $120/year it is much harder to recommend VS the competition. If you stick strictly with templates and value ease-of-use, then Vistacreate is a great way to go. However, if you want more control over your designs, better integrations with other tools, more photos, graphics, icons and illustrations to choose from, then there are better alternatives to Vistacreate. At the end of the day, I still think the program is well worth the asking price. You get a lot of functionality for the money. If the other tools didn't exist, I would give Vistacreate a 5 out of 5. But because the competition is SO good, I have to give it a 4 out of 5 for now. Pros \- Fast, fluid and simple UI - Fantastic, high-quality template selection compared to similar programs. - Quick and effective background removal tool - Quick masks to transform any photo into a shape (better than Canva frames) - A useful "Brand Kit" tool to keep the primary logos, colors, and fonts nearby. I wish I could add more than 3 fonts to a single brand identity. However, you can have many brand kits available at once, so that helps. - The ability to quickly create video-centric content (Reels, Stories, Animated Intros) is simpler and faster to use than competing programs. It lacks some of the more powerful video-centric tools, but speed and ease-of-use is more important for multi-purpose tool like Vistacreate. Cons \- Although there are an OK amount of objects/graphics, it still pales in comparison to Canva and Kittl. This is the greatest reason I can't totally recommend using Vistacreate over these other tools. - The search functionality is way behind competitors. This is another BIG negative. (See below for more details) - Vistacreate needs better layer management tools. Right now it's only the very basic "Move Backward" "Move Forward" type of system. - The mockup tools are slightly behind Canva and Pixelied, and way behind Kittl. - Vistacreate has fewer AI tools than competitors (if you care about them). Although most AI tools still fall in the "neat gimmick" category, some are becoming truly useful. Regarding the search tool: For fun I searched "Astronaut Cat" on Vistacreate, Canva, Kittl, and Microsoft Designer: Vistacreate gave me nothing. Not a single graphic. It's easily in last place. It didn't even show me a single generic cat or astronaut graphic. Microsoft Designer was in third place. It gave me generic cat and space graphics but not a single astronaut cat. But at least it showed me something. It also makes up a little ground with its ability to create Cat Astronaut icons using AI. Kittl is strongly in second place, and not far from first. Kittl provided about 8 images of astronaut cats. But it also gave many different and unique astronauts, cats in space, and even a hamster and other animal astronaut images. Lots to choose from. Canva was the obvious winner providing over 20+ different astronaut cats, 15+ cat-in-space graphics, and tons of other various astronaut, cat, and space graphics. Crello significantly decreases the amount of time needed to create a good looking post. Pros It is really intuitive and easy to use the software. Crello offers a great variety of templates to choose from, so you don't have to start from scratch when designing a post. Furthermore, it supports all popular social media sites (you can choose the size of your image to perfectly match the Facebook Cover, etc.). The UI is clean and simple, you can easily go back to your past projects, copy or edit them. Everything is automatically saved, so you don't have to worry that you will lose something. Cons I wish there were more templates to choose from, the number of templates depends on the popularity of the niche you're in, and some of them are quite lacking when it comes to templates. Furthermore, sometimes it is hard to edit something if there are multiple layers already in a design, you have to redo the layering if you want to change something that's on the lowest layer. Furthermore, the placement of some of the options is a bit tricky to grasp when first using the software. It's a great bang for your buck that most design companies would charge a decent amount for. Has good easy to use features. I moved from a well known and used service because of their bad image resolution .... even for paid versions! Cons It can be improved with more feature choices like creating bulk graphics to schedule them to social media for at least 30 days. Or choose the view of our pages to show in vertical view. The small inconveniences that I have experienced are not enough to takeaway from me using Crello for a long time to come. I love being able to whip out a creative in as little as 5 minutes! Pros Crello is my go to software for creating my social media and marketing creatives. It makes the process so quick and easy, I could actually spend hours in the software just trying new things. I love the templates that they continue to provide in the sofrware, with new inspirational templates being released constantly. I consider myself creative, however sometimes I need a little bit of inspiration to get me going - Crello is perfect for this. It is easy to use and doesn't over complicate the process of moving elements around the canvas. I love the animations they provide in the software as well - especially given video is one of the main booming areas of marketing now. I also love how easy it is to use my own images and logos to include in my designs. Crello has definitely made itself a good contender in the marketing space. I also love the amount of options/formats that are available to export in Crello. Cons Sometimes it is hard to select elements that have been layered towards the back of the canvas. In the end to resolve the issue I would have to move all the layers/elements in front of it to get to the desired element. A layer selection tab would be ideal to resolve this - which I have requested to their support (who are very responsive and quick to answer any issues I have). Also due to the sheer number of templates/formats they provide, it also takes some time to find the right template that I want to use. It would be great if the software remembered my most used template (or even a "Recently used" section would be ideal). Cons I was delighted to see that Vista had provided a creative platform for designing their products. I was interested in re-designing our show roller banners, so used the roller banner template that matched the dimensions given on the corresponding product in Vistaprint. However, once the product is designed there is no option to order it straight from create. So I downloaded the design, went to Vista print and quickly realised that the dimensions of the corresponding product were subtly different to the template given, meaning my design would need to be stretched to fit, causing distortion and lack of clarity. Why can you know just design straight onto a template the reflects the product you wish to buy? And why can't you then buy it straight from Create? There are many similar tools available, but we realized most of our time was spent finding the right image to use. Having 5 stock photos per month already included in our plan makes it easier for us to just search through the whole photos catalog and pick a few alternatives without worrying about the price. We are a small team so we didn't really need brand guides or brand asset management in our design tool. Pros Crello is incredibly easy to use and includes thousands of great templates for things like social media posts, flyers and even business cards. But what sets it apart from similar tools is that you can easily create videos for social media stories or posts with great video templates. The new Advanced subscription also gives you 5 paid stock photos (from DepositPhotos) per month, which for us really made the price worth it. Cons The interface might seem clunky compared to other tools that are more refined in terms of design. Navigating between sections could be easier, but once you are in design mode it is seamless and easy to use. Also, there's no way to manage brand assets like colors and typography like you get on Canva, and you have to get the Pro subscription to remove Crello branding from video. The employees love the end results and we almost always achieve 100% employee click rate. Pros The most impactful features in VistaCreate is the wide variety of customizable templates - there are various categories that are well designed, modern, attention grabbing, animated and engaging. I'm also able to upload my company's logo and create a themed color scheme for my projects. Cons I don't feel like there is anything that is missing from this software - there's a multitude of features that help me to create attention grabbing content, with animation, audio and video effects. However, when you need a high-end grade graphics done, you'll still have to go back to Adobe suites of tools Pros Easy to use and very similar to its trail blazer competitor Canva. One better thing it does is canva pro allows up to 10 team members to work on my graphic's. It's great for small business, or small agency. Cons Export functions are not very good. Only supports English and no other languages, export format is limiting. It is only VistaCreate services that are helping to pay up my bills. Pros It is flexible and allows the products to be delivered in different outputs for example pdfs, images, videos, and many more. Cons I would prefer if the software can introduce a desktop version for the platform just like what they did with mobile phone version but the desktop version should have more great features than the mobile one.
