The templates have made creating imagery for social media (including YouTube) incredibly easy. Pros VistaCreate is my favourite web-based graphic editing platform. I've been using it since it was called Crello and it's a serious Canva alternative. The stock photo options are amazing. Cons The number of assets in the icon or object gallery is sometimes lacking. An increased range of assets here would be incredibly useful. " December 10, 2024 4.0 In my pros and cons I compared Vistacreate directly with Canva, Kittl, and Microsoft Designer for obvious reasons. Because Vistacreate, Canva, and Kittl are all a similar monthly price, I consider this a fair comparison. Vistacreate is a great program. It works well. It has a ton of useful tools and you can use it to quickly create designs. The program felt like it was supporting me as the creator. However, with a significant lack of graphical assets and a poor search tool, Vistacreate is significantly harder to use to create a truly creative design. I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase a lifetime license of Vistacreate through Appsumo, which makes it an AMAZING deal that I would wholeheartedly recommend. However, at the normal price of around $120/year it is much harder to recommend VS the competition. If you stick strictly with templates and value ease-of-use, then Vistacreate is a great way to go. However, if you want more control over your designs, better integrations with other tools, more photos, graphics, icons and illustrations to choose from, then there are better alternatives to Vistacreate. At the end of the day, I still think the program is well worth the asking price. You get a lot of functionality for the money. If the other tools didn't exist, I would give Vistacreate a 5 out of 5. But because the competition is SO good, I have to give it a 4 out of 5 for now. Pros \- Fast, fluid and simple UI - Fantastic, high-quality template selection compared to similar programs. - Quick and effective background removal tool - Quick masks to transform any photo into a shape (better than Canva frames) - A useful "Brand Kit" tool to keep the primary logos, colors, and fonts nearby. I wish I could add more than 3 fonts to a single brand identity. However, you can have many brand kits available at once, so that helps. - The ability to quickly create video-centric content (Reels, Stories, Animated Intros) is simpler and faster to use than competing programs. It lacks some of the more powerful video-centric tools, but speed and ease-of-use is more important for multi-purpose tool like Vistacreate. Cons \- Although there are an OK amount of objects/graphics, it still pales in comparison to Canva and Kittl. This is the greatest reason I can't totally recommend using Vistacreate over these other tools. - The search functionality is way behind competitors. This is another BIG negative. (See below for more details) - Vistacreate needs better layer management tools. Right now it's only the very basic "Move Backward" "Move Forward" type of system. - The mockup tools are slightly behind Canva and Pixelied, and way behind Kittl. - Vistacreate has fewer AI tools than competitors (if you care about them). Although most AI tools still fall in the "neat gimmick" category, some are becoming truly useful. Regarding the search tool: For fun I searched "Astronaut Cat" on Vistacreate, Canva, Kittl, and Microsoft Designer: Vistacreate gave me nothing. Not a single graphic. It's easily in last place. It didn't even show me a single generic cat or astronaut graphic. Microsoft Designer was in third place. It gave me generic cat and space graphics but not a single astronaut cat. But at least it showed me something. It also makes up a little ground with its ability to create Cat Astronaut icons using AI. Kittl is strongly in second place, and not far from first. Kittl provided about 8 images of astronaut cats. But it also gave many different and unique astronauts, cats in space, and even a hamster and other animal astronaut images. Lots to choose from. Canva was the obvious winner providing over 20+ different astronaut cats, 15+ cat-in-space graphics, and tons of other various astronaut, cat, and space graphics. I moved from a well known and used service because of their bad image resolution .... even for paid versions! Cons It can be improved with more feature choices like creating bulk graphics to schedule them to social media for at least 30 days. Or choose the view of our pages to show in vertical view. Or the ability to get free designs from other creators in Vista. I need high resolution graphics and in Vista's free version they are of good resolution ... they don't appear blurry after download like the ones from Canva.... It's a great bang for your buck that most design companies would charge a decent amount for. Has good easy to use features. Pros Easy to use, great value and also now is integrated with Publer. Cons Some glitches with certain browsers not working all the time with it and on occasion I get some what appear to be guide lines appear on the screen which seem to restrict what I am able to do. I'm not sure how to get rid of them and so end up having to go out of a project and then back into it to carry on editing it. April 4, 2019 5.0 Can't believe I didn't know about Crello until this year, it has made managing my social accounts and creating graphics so SO much easier. It's a huge time saver and such a great source of inspiration day in and day out!! Pros I love Crello mostly because of the no-fuss ease of use! Hands down the easiest way to create any, literally ANY style graphic for any and all type of social platforms as well as graphics for prints, e-books, business cards, posters, flyers, whatever you can dream, you can make it. Also the fact that there are never any hidden fees unlike some other graphics tools used in the past, which made you pay for extra elements used, once you sign up for an Advanced or Pro plan with Crello, you get access to a myriad of design elements in their library. That's it. All is there at your fingertips to use freely on your paid plans. I personally opted for a Pro plan as I manage various social accounts and create lots of graphics daily. Oh, you have loads and loads of your own design elements like fonts, backgrounds, patterns, images you'd like to use? Upload away and create to your heart's desire. Cons It could have been user error, but when I clicked on a project and went to pick a different design, it completely changed my project without the possibility of going back to the original. In the e-book section, I don't like that it only gives you options to see designs for around 5- pages. But that's truly not a huge deal, as you can duplicate pages and page designs and keep on going. The zoom option should be a bit more seamless instead of clicking the zoom button at the bottom, like a mouse scroll action of sorts. Down the road I'd like to see a standalone app for Android and Mac, stepping away from using it in your web browser, but I know that's more in the realm of full software development. Just an idea. The Android app would be SUPER helpful though... Think about any and all social posts people make RIGHT ON their mobile devices!! I believe that with some improvements, they could be real alternatives to Canva. I have found that the templates they offer are easy to use and look great. The only downside is that they don't offer as many templates as Canva. However, I believe that VistaCreate is a great tool, and I will continue to use it. Pros I really enjoy using VistaCreate for its simple and easy-to-use interface. Additionally, it is an excellent tool for creating numerous designs with a wide range of features. However, some bugs and improvements still need to be made with the editor to make it even more user-friendly. Cons There are a few things that I don't like about the platform, chief among them being bugs when editing templates and uploading custom fonts. These can be frustrating and time-consuming and can often result in less-than-optimal results. As a non-profit organization, I applied for a free Pro account and the request must have gotten lost for a week or so. But I worked with someone on Live Chat and she was able to approve my request within minutes after I supplied all of the required info. Pros The first thing that I noticed about VistaCreate is its relative simplicity. I'm not a graphics designer but have developed a knack over the last few years through practice and like to work with a program that I can begin to utilize immediately without spending many hours learning that program. I also like the fact that the organization is doing its utmost to support Ukraine and its 450 or so workers. I'm very impressed that the (English) language is outstanding which is not always the case from other areas of the world. Cons I like the videos that explain the various features but wish they had a bit more detail. I probably just have to spend more time going over each one to pick up the specifics. Pros I came across this software when I was looking for something to design an internet flier for my business. I jumped right on and designed a flier without doing much of a tutorial on how to use the software! Very easy! I struggled with a few design aspects but was able to come up with a perfect flier for online. Cons I found it hard to edit a template that they had. I am super new to this software, but this is the one thing I struggled with most. After I searched and searched for ones I like, I couldn’t get the look I wanted because I struggled with deleting parts of their design and adding my own. With this tool you will have zero excuses as to why you're able to showcase your products in a beautiful well crafted poster or video. Pros I stumbled upon this gem as i was looking for a beginner friendly and easy to edit graphic design program and boy oh boy my experience has never been better. The ability to add team mates is a feature i like a lot i can also monitor and collaborate with them on any project. Every week Crello updates new templates, to me templates was the best selling point since i can easily edit it according to my needs i can also quickly search for a particular template or one geared towards a holiday/event, this makes me look like a real pro! The pro account is super loaded with premium photos and nice videos and some in HD which is something not so common when it comes to alternative software's.
