### "I have used ACT! Vs 18 for a little over a year for a client. I will say it has its ups and downs"

It does allow you set appointments and manage client information. But, it is very time consuming and you have to do a lot of steps to get what you are wanting out of it.

Pros

This software doesn't require a monthly charge (if you have the desktop version) It allows you to create customized reports and input more information then you possibly could need.

Cons

This software has several Cons, One of the biggest is that its not user friendly so much. it takes you a long time to figure out how to use functions. I had trouble when I fist started using it. Also, when I wanted up upload excel spreadsheets of client info into the CRM. I had to buy an "Add On" which I think should of been something included in the program.

### "Poor Customer Service"

Pros

The only reason I use this software is that I have used it for 25+ years, too embedded to change

Cons

The Company, the Pricing and mostly the Customer Service. How crazy is I have to pay extra to speak to someone in the US that speaks English. Appalling. The response time is poor. I requested a password change via email as it is set up to do because it would not take mine; never got the reset password email. I called the sales number thinking they would at least ANSWER the phone. He told me there was an issue with the reset email and customer service (which I pay an extra $480.00 a year for) can help... on hold too long, left a message for a call back.... waiting..... Years ago ACT was amazing, since the transitions it has become progressively worse. The Product itself is good, the sales people are nice. That is it. I do wish I had the time to research options and change, perhaps in 2021.

Upgrade were not announced, and the proposed changes not described. Initial bugs wouldn't even allow it to load! There are still bugs with things as basic as the notes section that ACT has been unwilling to address least of all fix!

Pros

Initially I wanted to use the program because I had used it a decade ago and found it easy to use and customize. It has changed and I ended up having to hire a consultant for everything.

Cons

As mentioned, I have worked with ACT off and on for two decades. Their most recent "upgrade" has been filled with bugs and a lack desire to fix them. My consultants have been inundated with complaints they have passed on to ACT with no response. Plus, they lack basic integration with excel or outlook. What!? Contact management programs are a competitive software. ACT is both more expensive than most, not user friendly and lacking in function and basic customer service.

Well, being a user since 1990, I'd say I am all for the ACT! Database experience and usage!

Pros

I have used this produce since the 90s and its consistency of value has remained. It's easy to use after learning just a few basics. Reports are easy to generate and are customizable to your field.

Cons

Only that it did not link to specialized software I was using in the field.

The fact that it is simple to use and that the costs are much better than sugarCRM, i also liked that \[sensitive content hidden\] who was out sales advisor was fantastic, nothing has ever been to much bother for him and even after completing our purchase he is still available to help.

Can be a little slow and clunky at times.

Pros

I'm able to integrate with MS Outlook, and sync within my Ipad and Google phone. Your costumer support is awesome with it's followup and addressing and any issues I may have. Deserves more than 5 stars!

Cons

Software pricing is becoming an issue as less expensive models are out there that competes with Act. Need to consider reduction pricing for those loyal customers like myself since 2006. Needs to come up with a better less tedious way of merging contact duplicates.

We use daily to manage our customers, it also integrates with our quoting software.

Pros

I like how it's easy to you, how it integrates with Microsoft and google very well. I like some feature like creating dynamic groups and the search function.

Cons

Everything is contact base rather than company base. Support is very expensive and if you need the program to do something more than what comes out of the box you might be looking into support services from a professional if you are not savvy enough.

We are happy to upgrade to ACT CRM for their cloud based services, for Act's collection as well as consolidation of our sales data for marketing use and for new business acquisition . Act has also become an off and online supplemental data base for our company.

Pros

We loved Act's flexibility and ease of use as each of our team members were able to use Act with their mobile devices and phones. Our team members reported that Act's updating process is quick, painless, and automated. In addition , their user interface was quite intuitive and made for generation of highly configurable reports in a timely manner .

Cons

We have found Act to be a solid and multi faceted CRM. However , we would love more tutorials on importing contacts for business use and referral. By importing we would value some kind of scan utility feature for use with cell phones and tablets. That said , once a client enters contact information , Act will make a connection and provide information regarding parent companies or further supplemental data. This feature proves extremely useful.

Reason for choosing Act!

We wanted Act as a separate CRM to provide a supplemental data base for backup and redundancy as well as for marketing purposes.

I began using ACT! in the 90's and learned how many power user techniques. Always liked the software so I have followed it from one distributor to another.

Pros

ACT! is a fantastic CRM and provides all the functionality you will ever need. You're able to customize and create customized processes so this meets a wide range of user requirements.

Cons

Because it has bounced across several publishers and distributors, it is hard to rely on customer support or even content support if you need to look something up.

It was like getting stabbed over and over in the leg with a butter knife and then a bent prong fork. I will recommend my client find a new CRM ASAP.

Pros

There might be redeeming qualities of this software once it is being used but installing it is like getting a 1990s computer to see a terabyte drive.

Cons

The install downloads as a package but it needs software the package doesn’t include. You call tech support and they are HORRIBLE!!!! They don’t care and they speak to you like you should know all the checks to get this junk software running.

Reason for choosing Act!

We choose it on reputation. But Swiftpage destroyed the software and any chance I would ever recommend this shitty software.

Pros

We used this software mainly for contact management. We received the emails through Act! and replied back to customers through this system. Also used for scheduling/receiving viewing requests. What I really liked in this software was that is was very easy to see what was happening during the day, how many emails and viewings we had. You could see the attachments, previous contacts from the customer. The viewing handling feature was pretty easy to use, you can leave notes, edit the contact details easily.

Cons

I personally did not find this software very user friendly. It was a bit difficult to handle the attachments and we did not always had the proper connection with between Act! and Outlock, therefore we stopped using the Act! after a certain time. But this might be good for smaller businesses.

ACT has been used in between products for us, and based on our experience so far, we'd be more likely to look at other products. It's solid in it's basic approach, but doesn't offer advanced features which its competitors do.

Pros

The layout and ease of use is so important to anyone using a CRM package. When someone's on the phone, you need to get to data quickly, and ACT allows us to do this.

Cons

It does lack other features which alternative CRM packages offer.

Pros

There seems to be a lot of functionality and ability to work in-depth with contacts and the information provided with the contacts.

Cons

It is not easy to have more than one person work off of the same database and keep everything integrated. We sync with Gmail and at this time it only allows for one account to sync email messages. We can sync the contacts to multiple accounts with the help of a third party software but only one for the Gmail messages.

I use ACT run run my entire client contact. It interfaces with Outlook for my emails. I can write letters and reports and are easily attached so I can find them quickly. It has a calendar and can add reminders and tasks

Pros

This is easy to set up and has more functions than a small business will actually need. Scheduling and report writing is easy to do and keeps things well organized. I have sued this for many years and the files is very large but it is easy to search.

Cons

Much of my work is confidential. I attach files to people and it is a little cumbersome when people leave the company and go work for some one else. It would be nice it they could work out a way to deal with this. Also, they are moving to a web-based program and while it may have advantages for some of us, it may be a problem. When I travel, i can not always access the cloud or the speed is very slow.

Pros

I've been using Act! since 2004 and it's never let me down. It has improved over the years. I have also worked with companies that have implemented SF and other CRM systems and each and every time, they have moved over to ACt. It is easy to use, easy to understand and it can perform far more complex operations than some of the better known (and lauded) competitors

Cons

None. I have used the web and desktop versions.

### "Great for a general database"

Act! is definitely an easy way to keep and organize all of my contacts. I've had a positive experience with customer service as well.

Pros

I use Act! as a database for my publicity and influencer contacts. It allows me to make various lists that I can download and use offline.

Cons

It is difficult to update large batches of contacts without starting over again or updating contact by contact. I wish that I could eliminate fields that I won't use. Searching has to be precise.

A good CRM system that does not require a monthly fee. It helps me manage and track clients, prospective clients and employees.

Pros

I like the fact that I can buy it outright and I am not locked into a monthly plan. I also like the fact that I can tailor reports easily to meet my needs.

Cons

When I get stuck, support is almost non-existent. Purchasing the product gives installation support but after a short time, your on your own unless you purchase a support plan.

Very functional and not difficult to use.

Pros

Actually, there are many, but the thing I like most about this software is the way it is set up to find duplicates, then merge those dups.

Cons

The limited space in some of the areas you can update. I understand there has to be limits, but that's the only thing I can think of right now. It's not really terribly bad, you just have to readjust your thinking sometimes witch is also not a bad thing.

### "Not what I expected"

I will be reviewing other CRM's when my renewal comes due.

Pros

It is a pretty decent CRM in terms of data collection and contact management.

Cons

Support is a problem. (I paid for premium service "an extra" to speak with an "on-shore" technician". Hold times when you call in can be up to an hour at any given time of the day. Sometimes you can be cut-off after holding 45 minutes and begin the process all over again. Tech often does not know the answer and has to "escalate to Sr. tech" They say they will get back to you in 24 hours by call or email. I am on day 3 now and have not received this call back. In my business my CRM is my navigator and used as a main part of my business day. The down time is ridiculous. I have been dead in the water all morning today, it is now noon. I am currently on hold waiting for a tech to explain my inability to log in today. I have currently been on hold for 43:53 minutes and counting.
