### "Great way to keep track of your customers!"

Pros

It makes it really easy to keep and organize my customer database. It can work with different applications.

Cons

If you are new to the tool it can be a little hard to get use to but nothing that will keep you from being an effective tool for organizing your customer base

When we were only using a sliver of the fucntionality, we were happy with it but now that we are using more and more funcitons, the less thrilled we become.

Pros

Customer Support is patient, but sometimes even they can't get things to work correctly. It is nice to be able to keep track of everything but that doesn't matter if the reports we pull are incomplete.

Cons

Reports are inconsistent. Sometimes they don't pull all of the results or pull unexpected results (from running the same exact report!).

act! is a CRM that we tried for a couple of months and it is does a decent job keeping contacts organized.

Cons

The user interface is rough to say the least. There are several better options out there.

Cons

### "Coming back to Act!"

For 10 years I owned a computer consulting firm that relied on Act! for everything that went on in our office. After leaving that industry, my new employer provided other software to track sales and leads. The minute that I moved into management, I began using Act! again for my personal sales and support contacts and leads. It has more features and is easier to use than before. I'm glad to be back and I recommend it to anyone who wants to keep track of their business.

Everything is at my fingertips and I do not need to create any workarounds

Pros

What I liked most about this software is that it is fairly easy to use. I didn't have to get trained to use it. The videos they have are at a good pace. I liked how I could "rewind" the video if I wanted to take notes and try to do what I wanted to do myself. I also liked how I could easily export the data into Excel.

Cons

What I liked least about this software are the available reports. None of them showed what I wanted to see in a report.

Pros

Very robust platform. Best follow calendar and opportunity evaluation. Easy to chronically events and create follow up timing.

Cons

Not much. It can be a little hard to find all of the features, but they are in there somewhere. Just takes some time.

Pros

There is nothing good about the program, absolutely horrible. Customer support cant handle issues, all i have are negatives

Cons

Hard to use, technical support have zero clue whats going, things that the CRM is supposed to be able to do it is unable to, you cannot sync google or outlook to reflect the information to Act, it goes one way, Act to Google/Outlook but not the other way around. Very dated program, would not suggest to anyone

Have been using ACT since V.4 I agree with others, 2000 was the last good version. But I have always up graded, and have been more frustrated and very angry with the "customer support". I purchased 2013 in May 2013. Sales people did not know that 16 was coming 3Â½ months later. Plus Sales did not know this version was not Excel compatible. Tech people knew. After calling their outsourced customer support their accommodation was they would allow me to purchase a new program for the "promo price" and not the regular price. Plus, I had to listen to support people that speak English, but do not understand nor think it. Reading scripts from a computer is not customer service. Granted, ACT has the functionality, but dealing with all the errors is really frustrating. Wish there was an alternative.

Pros

With Act, i find it very useful to use the area search option.

Cons

I am using the online package, which loads up a new page and can be slightly delayed.

There are several features that have been requested for some time. One is the ability of ACT to recognize a read receipt as a valid email and allow it to be attached to a contact. The second is partly new and supposedly will be addressed in the January release. That is the issue with ACT 18 and Outlook 2016 during a mail merge. Having to make ACT your email editor in order to do a mail merge was a workaround and not a solution. It Meant some things like the email address of the recipient was not shown. This makes it more work to determine what was the issue when an email gets bounced back. The other is older and again, I was told will be addressed in the new release and that is during an ACT/Outlook mail merge any logo in the sender's signature block becomes and attachment.

I first started using ACT in 2001 during my first job at a Publishing Company. I loved the simplistic ease of the software. My entire career sales habits have been molded by this product. Fast forward 15 years. I started my own company in 2012 and began to use ACT once again. However, I did upgrade to the online cloud version. From at point on I began to have many issues and bugs. The customer service is extremely difficult to contact (wait times of up to an hour or two) to reach anyone. I didn't feel their cloud version was up to par with other established online cloud CRM's. For this reason, I ultimately stopped using ACT. IF ACT were to develop a product similar to ZOHO or HiRise with stellar customer service, I would be a returning customer. Cloud is the only way to go now.

I've used Act since around 1987. I've come to the conclusion that the last good, trouble free version of this software was Act 2000. Since that time I have had numerous problems with the program (Act 2004, 2005, 2006) taking minutes to open up, freezing up and my very favorite - not being able to open up my data base that I created and have used for a year or more. This is why for several years I went back to the 2000 version until the 32 bit machines became obsolete. Out of the blue, after two years of use the 2011 version, the software won't open up my files. Frankly Act 2011 Pro will is the last program I will purchase from Sage. I wouldn't recommend it to any new users. For those with tons of patience, the dire need for strategic planning, and progress charts, have at it.

I love how customizeable ACT! is. It's a great CRM for companies that need to keep specific, detailed information that may not be possible with out-of-the-box CRMs.

Cons

Both the desktop and cloud versions run very slowly.

I have been an Act! user since 1998 (version 4, I believe) and have used every version since then. Of the old pre-SQL versions I found version 6 to be the best by far. I actually refer to it as Classic Act!. The first SQL version (Act! 2005 - version 7) was truly a nightmare and I refer to it as Sage's response to Windows ME. Since then it has gotten better with only a few significant bumps along the road. I really like the current version since it added some great features that were available in the past only with add-ons. I am also looking forward to not having a new version every year like accounting software. The idea of having periodic releases as required by the constantly changing IT world makes a lot of sense and parallels what the major players do.

Pros

In theory I liked the features. It would have covered all my needs. So I bought a one month subscription to try it out.

Cons

In practice, I only experienced their sales and customer service interactions so my review is based on those. I was not able to use the product because they never sent me the link to download it after I paid for it. Once I had paid, the salesperson told me to wait for another email and said it might take a little while since their email systems are slow. I waited and called back a week later and complained to customer support, I asked them to ensure that I receive the link the same day. I needed to use it urgently. No email came. The next day I asked them to cancel and I still had to email back and forth 3 or 4 times before they gave me a refund.
