Pros Our company uses sonic wall as antivirus and firewall. You can set up web content filtering in order to block some sites not related to company policy. You can also view logs to diagnose issues. Any install usb is scanned quickly. Cons There is no pop out message saying about summary of treat detection and report on a daily basis but it is okay as long as the It can capture those web threats quickly. This Sonicwall security service are really effective to defend your organization. Highly recommended Pros Easy to deploy, easy to manage and more important: in 10 minutes is working wihout any changes on user pc email configuration Cons When apply changes, sometimes it takes time to refresh it. IT/Operations Mgr Real Estate Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Customer Service Gone Wrong" May 15, 2019 1.0 Though we have solved a way to access files away from our main office network, their customer service team has ruined the image of this business. We are currently having the issues of purchasing 6 licenses and only 2 of them working. To get this issue addressed you to have your yearly support instated. After purchasing this yearly support after noticing we were having issues to the support team says my account has still expired. They said I needed to pay for a reinstatement key. I was told this was waived and I am still having issues with this team. It borderline feels like a scam. I would ADVISE NOT with using this company. Pros This device is great in helping the company deliver a strong VPN service to access files from our database on our main server. Cons The software has issues that haven't been fixed from the team. November 16, 2021 5.0 Overall, I am very happy with what SonicWall has created for their customers when talking about Email Security. It can pretty much handle anything that is thrown its way and they give administrators & management enough reports to show how secure their business is when looking at the largest cause of ransomware... inbound email. Pros SonicWall obviously listened to what their customers were looking for when it comes to Email Security. The platform should not require the users (nor admins) to have a Ph.D. to setup/use their email security product choice. They have obviously spent a lot of time putting together a ton of features that businesses are looking for to ensure they have a robust email security gateway watching what comes in/out of their company. Cons With a platform as robust as the SonicWall Email Security product line, I would have thought that there would be more customizable functions for advanced administrators to dive in and create detailed reports/functions that management demands. Pros We use SonicWall's VPN service to connect remotely. In my experience, it has been very reliable and almost always works instantly. Cons At times, I can be disconnected and on occasion we have issues connecting at begin with, but it works seamlessly the vast majority of the time. Review Source VA Victor A. It was just unfortunate it was not very intuitive to use. Pros It had a lot of features in terms of filtering and protection. I felt that it worked fairly well for eliminating threats. It helped protect our email and filtered out suspicious malware or phishing attempts well. Cons It was extremely difficult to understand from and admin standpoint. I had a lot of difficulty making changes to something that I had a vendor set up for me. I had to rely on the vendor for any changes required since the set up with very hard. Pros As a journalist, we get a lot of spam mail and were looking for something that would effectively monitor the obvious spam and phishing attempts, but also be able to effectively block domains and specific send types as well as make sure we received our e-mail 24/7. So far, SonicWall Email Security hasn't let us down. I can't speak on how easy it was to set up as I am just a user, but from the user end, it's awesome. Cons There wasn't much not to like from the user side - it was seamless as far as I was concerned and I haven't had any issues accessing my e-mail or noting whether items were legit when it thought it was spam. Cons Customer support is VERY difficult. Their tier-1 and tier-2 support are off-shored. Specific applications are denied access out to the internet as well as social networks. It's very affordable and great as a secondary level of security. Cons Since Its not pushed to the max, i don't have any cons to speak of. The external firewall is FortiGate.
