Pros: DKM leverages the organisational knowledge and delivers unmatched flexibility and customisation to deploy a system that enables capturing, distributing, and effectively using knowledge. Also, DKM application is very wide; it can be applied to many areas (education, projects, product component building, etc.)

DKM makes and information available to the members of a company, and its partners and customers. It links really nice the demand and offering of knowledge, information, data or other assets; in an integrated manner. This includes dynamically linking (to stakeholders, and through processes) text documents, images, audio, video files, other data types or even some executing programming routines. This also helps to systematically improve the learning process.

Also, you can do things like: integrating with internal and external information/data repositories; supporting social network based features; supporting the viewing of content for multiple file types and/or providing integration through APIs to other products.

Cons: It can be a little bit difficult to administer if no IT logic knowledge, as sometimes is hard for people to find ways to efficiently capture and record business knowledge. As customer service is very good then to get some training is recommendable and as any knowledge management system.. To establish a process for motivating people to share, reuse and apply knowledge consistently is needed, so you can have great success.

Overall: Great organisational knowledge sharing, high flexibility and efficient knowledge transferring across the organization as well as among workers and with users.

Pros: The DKM provides extreme flexiblity in modelling knowledge. And it derives it from the use. So modelling is to a large extend performed implicitely. Moreover it provides a maximum of extendability regarding use of different kinds of media, integrated applications, representation, reuse of data and so on...

Cons: Users not familiar with wiki-alike systems will need some time, to get along with it. So some training is required.

Pros: The customer support is great and very open to customize the software according to your specific needs. It is for real professionals.

Cons: The graphical user interface is a bit classical and needs some training. Some very powerful functionalities are less user friendly.

Overall: We had a project involving a large network of research entites and their researchers. They had different focus areas and interest and my team was responsible to build scientific missions by grouping scientists with similar focus. DKM made great contribution to organize the data (geographic location, publications, areas of interest etc.).
