The learning curve to learn how to proof is very low, which leads us to happier clients! Pros The reason I came to GoVisually is because of the minimum steps our clients have to see their proofs. Previously we used Mavenlink for media proofing, and even video proofing, but there were SO. MANY. STEPS. our clients had to go through, like signing up for a Mavenlink account and inconveniently forcing the client to educate themselves on Mavenlink’s proofing system, which takes time, as well as getting emails for every little (non-design) project changes, which takes more time; our clients don’t have that kind of time to spend on something that should be so simple. GoVisually is very direct, can send a link to the project without signing up for the system, and the proofing functionality is very minimal and comprehensive. And the emails my clients get are only design changes, that’s it! It’s a very lean and easy system to understand with very minimal steps to get to the proofing with a greater respect of using our clients time! Cons I would like to see video proofing someday. October 19, 2023 5.0 Really good experience overall. The service is great, the support teams are really helpful & proactive, and I've seen the product receive multiple rounds of meaningful enhancements in the time we've been using it. Pros Its ease of use is fantastic. We created an onboarding doc to take a large group of designers & marketing people through the various processes, but I think they could've worked it all out themselves in minutes.Work is easily managed into projects & sections within projects, allowing lots of flexibility in how work is structured. The version control & particularly the side-by-side reviewing feature (to compare versions) is fantastic. Cons My main gripe is the lack of notification options - they're either on or off, meaning everyone across all of our teams have them off so they don't get inundated with email updates. It's a simple workaround, but more granular control over what triggers an update would be great. July 3, 2018 3.0 Pros Quick link function is useful. Basic uploading is useful. Adding new viewers is easy. Cons The login is unnecessary. I wish we could turn that function off. Getting back to the place where you can see all of the proofs is unclear to our clients. They also can't find their other versions on mobile. It's difficult to see older versions. If a client approved an older version, it shows up as approval on everything uploaded before and after that. I haven't found anything that fits our needs so perfectly. Even though there are a few things I would change, I don't see us leaving GoVisually anytime soon. It is a great product and we're very happy! Pros The thing I like the most about GoVisually is that we have one central location where we communicate with our clients (or internally) about a project. They are able to leave comments directly on the file, marking it up and pointing to specific spots, which gives us clear communication so we all know exactly what we're talking about. I love that it keeps track of previous versions and comments so we have a record of our discussion and all revisions that took place along the way. We shopped around for software that would allows us to easily proof and revise PDFs for our print shop and allow our clients to markup those PDFs to make any revisions/comments/etc. GoVisually easily won out over all the other options we found. Cons 1\. I would like GoVisually to be a bit more customizable when it comes to organization of projects. Not every company works with the same workflow, and I'd love to have more control over how I want it to work for me. For example, I would love it if I could set it to automatically connect to a specific slack channel when a new project is created (so I don't have to do it manually). 2. I would reaaallly love it if we had an internal communication option and an external communication option so I can send a proof to my project manager first, have internal comments, and then send it to our client without the client seeing our internal discussion. 3. I would also really love it if we could turn off notifications for our clients so we can control when they get notified about an updated proof being uploaded. Typically I will upload a proof for our project manager to review first, and then we want to send it to the client after we internally review it. But most of the time the client gets notified as soon as I upload anything, and it makes that internal review process more difficult. 4. Finally, I would LOOVE to have comments made in GoVisually automatically be available to be seen directly in Adobe InDesign (kind of like Adobe's own share & review). Great for us, and a better experience for our clients. Pros The price to feature is perfect. We are a smaller agency with fewer clients. Don't need anything super fancy, so this fits our needs perfectly. A great toolset for adding comments and leaving notes. We use it mostly for videos and it's been great. Cons Have had some comments from people that they couldn't get projects to load. Also, the mobile app is very behind and needs work, but on desktop, it works great. Senior Graphic Designer Hospital & Health Care Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "GoVisually is great tool that fills a unique space" July 11, 2018 4.0 Pros Our marketing design team produces a lot of collateral, most of which are exported in PDF format. GoVisually was the best and one of the only tools of its kind that both supports PDFs and allows you to annotate them (Wake allows PDF uploads which can be commented on, but doesn't support annotations). The annotation tool set is simple, but it includes everything that most users will need, and our broader marketing and sales team was able to use it day one with few hiccups. Cons As great as the PDF support is, it comes with a cost. When PDFs are uploaded they're rendered as images. This is fine in my cases, but our content team has expressed their annoyance at being able to use the browser's find text feature (ctrl + F) to location specific text in a layout. It would be great if GoVisually rendered PDFs without the conversion to images. The other issues we've had are due to organization, but the developers have stated that they're working on one of them. The first is project organization. Currently, projects of simply displayed in a single list and there's no way to sort or group them into sections. We have 100+ projects easily, and it's struggle to find the right project at times (we don't want to lose the information from old projects and there's no archive and retrieve system that would reduce this burden). Adding a search function would make things a tad easier, but it's not available yet. GoVisually has stated that they're working on an organization system for projects and I'll be excited to see that. I don't know if the developers have one available, but a public roadmap for the tool would be great so users can see the features they're working on. Trello does a fantastic job of this, and even use Trello boards to collect user feature requests. During the initial setup the GoVisually team was very responsive and helpful in onboarding us and getting our questions answered. Overall very satisfied. Pros We started using GoVisually recently. It was very quick and easy to setup. Its a very simple, straightforward tool for our reviewers to use as well. It's also at a very reasonable price point, compared to some other that we tested. Our clients love it as it is straightforward to use and there is almost no learning curve. Support has always been easy to get hold of and there are no barriers (such as chat bots) when connecting to their live chat. Cons Definitely some areas for improvement - sometimes clients may draw a large markup square over an entire document (covering other markup comments) and then you can't access the comments behind it, unless you switch to the sidebar and select them individually from the list. We find a lot of proofing softwares are quite slow when uploading and navigating but Go Visually is quick! The UX is nice and simple. It doesn't take long for new staff or clients to use it at all and it is very effective for communicating changes to new and existing web designs. The sharing options are nice but the sharing links are too long - bring back the short link. All in all, it suits us very nicely for our needs. Cons No ability to create folders for projects, so you have to create new proof's as stand alone and without folders which is not very nice for organisation. It's fairly easy to upload projects and create new projects. The commenting and approval feature is the best aspect of this software. It's pretty easy to share projects and tell which reviewers have gotten into a project to review it. Cons It would be great to include a feature for reviewers to "approve with changes," so that they can be excluded from future revisions and their approval can be visible when a new file is uploaded, rather than having to go back to prior versions to find out whether they approved a previous version. It would also be nice to have a way to categorize the projects into different folders or some way of organizing them so that they are not just in one long list. It would be nice if it were less work to get into the previous versions of a file that is posted to find out the conversation that took place. Right now clicking through takes a few steps. It would also be helpful to include a feature so that it is clear of the document contains multiple pages. Right now reviewers might not be aware that there are multiple pages in a document because it is not very clear from the getgo upon opening the file. Everyone that I invite to review my projects seem to have ease managing through the workspace. I enjoy having several options of markers to draw attention to a specific change that needs to be made. The addition of the arrow has made a huge difference to my review process, because I don't always want to mark up the copy itself. Cons There are some people on my reviewer list that never receive email invites to proof my projects. I've done everything I can think to do and advised them to take certain actions, but they still never receive them. I can still give them access with the link, it just becomes a nuisance when I have to do that with every new draft. This makes the process much easier than managing a bunch of emails. This also saves a TON of money by not having to re-print artwork if the image is unsatisfactory for the customer. The interface is very simple and easy to use, and the customer service has been outstanding! Highly recommend. Cons I don't really have any at the moment. Everything is doing exactly what I need. Requests are easier to track and respond to, and the process stays much more simple and organized. Pros This software has significantly improved my work flow with clients. Proofing large documents and reviewing and submitting feedback has always been a tremendous challenge in my field, but this system has completely streamlined that process for myself and my clients. Cons It does have a few bugs. When clients share proof links, some people are asked to login with a user/password, while others are able to access the content without issue. It's always a bit of an embarrassment when I have to generate a new link for the people getting the login page first. The new link usually solves the problem, but can hurt the timeline if I'm not able to see and respond with a new link quickly. Review Source MB Megan B. With a few more feature upgrades, I think we would be very happy. Pros For graphic design editing, the software works really well. You are able to easily highlight changes needed and all members on the project and easily see those changes and add to them. Cons The tools provided are not great for large amounts of copy editing.
