Pros I've been using 1PW for over 5 years now and while I personally dislike the subscription model, it is the convenience factor that let's me ultimately have a clean conscience about paying upfront for a service and they have improved and maintained their thing for so long, I really don't mind paying this way instead of a payed upgrade yearly. If you are looking for a slick, no-nonsense solution on your Mac, this is the thing to go for :) AND it works for iOS as well with simple syncing and copy pasting for extra comfort :) Highly recommended! Cons As said before, the subscription model is a big turnoff for many and probably not needed, but it's the world we live in nowadays. You and your data are at least never locked in to the software. Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Works, but sometimes confusing Password Manager" June 3, 2017 4.0 Pros First of all, I have the standalone versions for both my computer and phone, so I'm not a subscriber of their software. They have two "versions" available. When it works, it's very easy to use. Cons I find the user interface confusing and it's hard for me to sync between my desktop and mobile without getting duplicate items which are very frustrating. So, I've gotten to the point where I don't bother. Since they offer two "versions," but push the subscriber version, it seems harder to find the answers for the standalone version on their website. But it seems like the update they did made everything a little unclear and it changed so much that it made it almost like you needed to relearn the whole system. Cons Due to the update, it has been a huge learning curve relearning the app and we aren't sure that this is the solution for us anymore. We are looking around at LastPass. 9/10 of us use 1Password but 1 person uses LastPass so we may look into it. Pros I run a digital marketing agency so I have to manage hundreds of logins! Ok maybe not that many, but it sure feels like it! 1Password allows me to manage my logins and keep them secure so I spend less time tracking down passwords or, let's face it, resetting them! Pros The user interface of 1Password is great, it's mobile friendly, accessible with good color contrasts and works well across different web browsers. The ability to identify poor passwords and offer good alternatives is very good, this saves considerable time and helps avoid potential security breaches. Cons 1Password can sometimes be slow to load, this may be due to the face I have a huge number of passwords and data stored. Pros One of my favorite features is that it collects all my passwords in the same place, automatically brings my passwords when I enter the pages I have saved, and fills in the blanks by itself. Cons The feature that I like the least is that it does not allow google chrome to save passwords that I don't see worth saving in this software, so I don't have to disable this 1Password plugin from google chrome. Now I can keep the longest most complicated passwords and not worry about a thing Pros I think it’s an amazing software overall but if you ask me what I specifically loved the most about it I would say its ability to integrate with almost every other app and platform in order to save your passwords automatically Cons There’s nothing to really dislike about it , I mean there’s a great idea behind it thats proven to be beneficial for most of us but yes it could have been even more amazing if there was a longer free trial period or didn’t require a credit card to try it. June 6, 2018 5.0 Pros I like that I can access my passwords across different platforms. There are regular updates to the software, and usually that works out well. Cons The way the browser extension works has been changed. And sometimes, even though I use Dropbox to sync everything, I many times find that information that I update on one platform doesn't show up on the other. I'm not really sure why this happens. Pros Gone are the days of having to remember a different username and password for every site or subscription you have. 1Password manages them for you and creates unique and secure passwords that you don't have to remember or keep stored someplace. The cross-platform availability keeps all of your devices in sync and the available plug-ins allow you to use the browser of your choice without sacrificing any of the great features. Cons The software does what it is supposed to do, so there is not much to complain about. I would mention the subscription fee here but you can't expect to get something of this quality for free. Company Director Retail Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Best Password Manager I've used" July 29, 2019 5.0 My overall experience is a good one, it's saved me a lot of stress and time having to my password when I forget it, since I don't need to remember them any more, they are all stored. Id definitely recommend using this for anyone with a lot of accounts on different sites. Pros With security and data breaches being a big deal nowadays, especially for people like me who have accounts on tens or even hundreds of sites, security is very important which means not using the same password on every site. As you can imagine, it's a very hard thing to remember multiple different passwords so 1Password makes it super easy which is my favourite thing about the software. You don't need to remember your password for any sites as it will automatically generate them upon signup of the site, and save the login details for you securely, and all you need to do is click login without even remembering the password OR username. It's amazing Cons My least favorite thing about using the software was that although for a very minuscule amount of sites, sometimes it doesn't recognize the username and password boxes and you need to manually type in the details. I normally use it for personal passwords, but I would recommend it to my company for enterprise use. Pros I've tried both Last Pass and 1Password, and I have to say that 1Password has been one the battle in my book. When comparing both platforms, the amazing UX and ease of retrieving my passwords are what stood out as the main reason I stuck with 1Password. Lastly, Last Pass was bugging and I've never had any issue with saving or storing secure notes in the 1Password platform (yet). Cons No cons per se, but it would be nice to have a freemium model available for some friends of mine that want to try the service out before committing (I know that there's a free week included though). You won't be upset for choosing 1Password, but as your needs (and list of passwords) grow, you may find it be a little less up to challenge. Pros The application is a good enough password manager with some nice features, like ease of sharing and browser extensions. Cons The browser extension is clumsy, the passwords themselves seem to become out of sync from time to time, and, overall, it doesn't seem as easy to use as other password managers. Feeling confident that your essential information is secure is essential especially coming from a place that has suffered a breach in the past. Cons Getting everyone on board was a challenge. Cons On my phone, unfortunately will not remember your login if you power down your phone which requires a full login when you turn your phone back on. All I have to do it remember one master password and I have access to all my accounts. It has an extension to Chrome that is easy to implement and use. When you put a password into 1Pass, it automatically encrypts it and you never have to remember what it is. 1Pass also creates passwords for you that are impossible to remember but also impossible to hack. You can customize the length and characters needed for whatever password you're creating. Whenever you're signing into something, 1Pass will ask if you want the password remembered and that's it. Put in your master password and you're free to go. 1Pass is very affordable as well. For my job, we create and save passwords for our clients all the time. This is an easy way to save them and make sure they are safe and not compromised. Cons It took some time for me to grow used to using 1Pass to save my passwords, but their support section on their site is very helpful and was my go-to whenever I ran into anything I wasn't sure of. With every release they introduce new features and ways to make the system easier to use. This includes their innovative WatchTower tool that lets you know when you have a password that may be compromised.
