Pros

Drake works really well for individual and small business tax returns. I really like being able to carryover basic information from year to year.

Cons

It took me a little bit of getting used to. Some screens are not intuitive.

Over all very good. It is a fraction of the cost of other professional products.

Pros

It is comprehensive and has virtually all state and Federal income and estate tax forms and it is relatively inexpensive for professional software.

Cons

It is not a robust as some of its more expensive competition and and when transferring to equipment requires complete installation.

Top quality tax program and phone/chat support. Best I have seen for a tax program even during tax season.

Pros

This is a very good and well thought out professional tax program. Laid out in an easy way for professionals to navigate.

Cons

The only word of warning the messenger in secure file pro does not have a live notification so you are not notified until the next days email.

I use Drake tax software for my tax preparation company. I have used them for years. They are very reliable and offer good customer service.

Pros

I like the various features it offers. I also like the additional products Drake offers to work well with Drake tax software.

Cons

I wish it could be a bit more user friendly and give more error notes. I wish you could customize some more features.

Pros

Price compared to other packages was reasonable.

Cons

Difficult learning curve. In addition, they give you 2 weeks to try the software before the no refund policy. Unfortunately, the software only becomes available 2 weeks before tax season and W2s are not available until the end of January. Thus, by the time you can even try to use the software and see if it works for you, it is beyond the no refund policy.

Overall, my experience was good. The product is easy to use and has excellent customer service.

Pros

I love how easy this program is to use. I was able to sit down and start entering return information immediately without much training

Cons

The thing i liked least is the search feature. I feel like it could be more user friendly. Being able to sort by many different fields would be super helpful

Pros

Price is appropriate for the market. Easy to install and set up. Good customer service, with responses within 24 hours every time I've contacted them.

Cons

Difficult interface to understand; took me a few weeks to get used to it, and to figure out how to do even a basic return. Only works on Windows- no Mac assistance or capabilities.

Customer service/support is knowledgeable and very helpful. Tax program is very user-friendly. Instructions are clear and to the point. Always have help with whatever I'm doing.

Cons

I haven't run into any issues or things about this software that I don't like.

This product is not useful for Spanish speakers, Getting electronical signatures from customer procedures are very complex

Pros

Drake software is not a friendly software I did'nt like anything about it

This is not a friendly software, too difficult to work with it

Overall I would recommend Drake. If you have not ever used it before I would encourage getting use to the feel of it prior to tax season.

Pros

I like that the software includes multiple years available in the package. I chose the pay-per-use option and that works for me. I also like that the software will not allow you to efile the return if there are errors.

Cons

I do not like the overall feel of the software. I wish that it was updated and gave the option of "interview-style" for entering data.

Switched from

[TaxAct Business](https://www.capterra.com/p/186938/TaxAct-Business/)

I switched because I had to pay separately for Federal and State returns and if I needed prior years I had to purchase each year which for me was not cost-effective.

I love drake way better then HR block software. Easier to use. A lot more options to efile. Especially 1041's.

Pros

Such a great software to use. Imports k1's for clients in to personal.

Cons

Updates all the time. We use as a team and if not everyone is out we can not update the software.

Drake software helps filing tax returns super simple.

Pros

This is the most simple tax software I have ever test drove. It allows you ease of access to only the forms you need prepare a tax return. You can go to the common forms and add on the forms that are associated with the tax return you are preparing. It is a awesome tax software that I would recommend to anyone doing taxes, especially for first time tax preparers.

Cons

The software is so simple, I have not found any cons to using it at this time

Drake is a great software for smaller tax returns and smaller firms. It is perfectly adequate and is reasonably priced.

Cons

This software is cost effective, but does lack some of the robust features you find in the bigger more expensive programs.

Drake was easy to use, and didn’t Nicole and dime you for extras like different state returns.

Pros

I like the tips and hot links that help you make decisions about tax returns. Also there are many features that help with filings.

Cons

Finding things can be a challenge sometimes until you get used to the software. The software makes some guesses about estimated payments etc that a new user may think was intentionally input. Accepting these green fields will result in inaccuracies in filings.
