Pros CyberGhost is easy to set up, very intuitive, and affordable. The browsing speed is great, it has a kill switch that avoids any IP leak if the VPN disconnects unintentionally. You can choose what country you want to connect to or let the app take care of it. The auto-connect on startup allows you to 'forget' and not have to worry about turning on your VPN every time you start up your machine. By using the Wireguard protocol, Cyberghost can also block predefined content (ads, trackers, malware). I also tend to trust VPNs based outside of the jurisdiction of the "14 Eyes Alliance" Cons sometimes Cyberghost has a little trouble connecting, and it also, although rarely, completely fails to connect. Split tunneling is not available on Mac, it's a great feature that allows the user to let some apps and websites access the internet without going through the VPN (some websites go crazy when they see you connect from a server abroad to access their services and have you go through a lot of unnecessary hassle just to make sure it's you... Extremely poor customer support experience and extremely poor product. Never subscribing again. Pros Free trial. Just a basic VPN that easily gets tracked and blocked. The only thing I liked was the free trial. Worked just fine but everything went downhill after subscribing to it and now, I regret my decision. Cons Almost everything - that starts after you subscribe to it. Their customer support never - ever cares about their customers, they stick to their usual notes and would never investigate anything. Now about the product: - Gets my Mac slow. Everything on the internet takes forever to load - and when I disconnect the VPN, things get back on track and browser tabs open within a fraction of a sec. - Easily gets detected. Like most other VPNs, it's only cheaper when you buy a multi-year plan from them. It's hard to beat CyberGhost in terms of performance, however, if your task is limited, you may find good and cheaper alternatives. The CyberGhost windows app has gotten a lot faster now than it was before. The earlier versions sometimes did cause my windows to halt. I don't see that issue anymore with the versions of the last few years. My experience with CyberGhost has always been good. Pros I think CyberGhost probably has the most number of servers worldwide and covers all countries around the world. (I'm not 100% certain about that, but they cover way too many countries.) The company is decades old. At least that's how long I've known this VPN. That's a very important trust factor for me. The company has evolved from just a VPN to a complete security solution. For a Paid VPN, this is definitely one of the best VPNs in the world in terms of Speed and reliability. Cons Previously they had a limited-feature free-VPN plan, which many users prefer when they have a very limited task to accomplish with the VPN. If you are not a regular user, you would not want to spend money on a VPN. The Free VPN however, had many limitations, such as speed throttling, waiting in queue to get connected, data limits etc. I think they probably have got rid of that. That's a disappointment for me. I also found the number of servers and features in CyberGhost more promising, so I decided to give the premium version of CyberGhost a chance. I can tell you, over the years I have observed that CyberGhost has only become better and better. I'm disappointed they no longer offer free VPN, but I can say for sure, that they are a reliable VPN when you need one. I "connect and forget" and let it do the job. Pros CyberGhost is a user-friendly VPN service app with many features. It includes the latest WireGuard with great speed (which allows you to turn on an additional layer of security by blocking DNS domains used by ads, malware, and trackers. Cyberghost can unblock Amazon Prime and Netflix. I had to disconnect and reconnect the VPN and refresh the page once or twice, but it was never too annoying. Cyberghost makes sure nothing can leak whenever it disconnects by blocking the incoming connection (kill switch). An extended subscription saves money, so the longer you commit, the cheaper the VPN service becomes. And for as low as $2.23 a month, you get a great product. I also like how easy it is to identify which servers are the least busy by quickly checking the server load percentage figure next to each country server. Pros I tryied this VPN for about 6 months and what I like about it are the following: - The ability to view the entire US Netflix catalogue: There are several optimized servers (in the "For Streaming" section) for the US, UK, Germany, France, and Italy. We also tried the BBC site and had no problems connecting to the UK server. - Excellent speed and low latencies - Possibility to watch Spanish TV channels from abroad via a server in Spain - There are no restrictions on download, P2P or streaming. Also it's very secure, there is a solid privacy policy. Cons This vpn is not the best option for countries with high censorship. Cons If you are using it for some streaming services, it sometimes doesn't work. This is really hit or miss, often takes a bit of disconnecting, waiting, and reconnecting. Moreover, some of the servers are very slow which have caused my devices to take a long time to load web pages. Pros This app was reliable and worked each time I asked it to, it was easy to deploy but the interface wasn't very automated and there were a few more features accessible that either needed an explanation or needed a way to "save changes" so it would be easier to keep track of preferences.
