I've never got a virus or anything else while using it. Its easy to set up scans and easy to see the results. The free version I find is good enough for general email and browsing but on my work computer I opt for the paid version with a few extra protections. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Cons I don't really have any bad things to say about this. I downloaded it on my parents computer and they found it a bit confusing so maybe if you aren't very computer literate its harder but that's all I can think of. Review Source Belinda M. It does an incredible job of keeping my PC secure and safe without slowing it down at all. I have used other antivirus programs that just got in the way and made my job difficult. AVG does not do that at all. It simply does its job very well in the background and you don't even know it is there. Cons The only thing I can think of is the upsells, but honestly, I don't even mind that because it is such a great product. April 15, 2019 5.0 This is a nice addition to the default windows defender software to give peace of mind. Pros Reliable and powerful. It has most of the features you'd like in an antivirus program including the option to scan specific files on your file system. It doesn't seem to come with any bloat and I didn't notice many performance issues. For a free product, you can't really argue with that. Cons I struggled with the 'safe web' part of the software because it started to cause some issues where all sites were marked as 'unsafe' even though they weren't. It has performed beautifully for me across a wide range of devices and through all kinds of upgardes. Pros I am a long, long time user of AVG for my PC devices and the first thing I do with any new device is take off the annoying preinstalled McAfee (which takes forever, as they just don't want you to) and install AVG. It's lightweight, unobtrusive and completely reliable. The software is fairly easy to use on a basic level. It's quick to install and you can start using it immediately. It's blocks unsafe links...even though I am generally careful - it happens every once in that something slips through the cracks...and AVG has saved me from going to an unwanted site! Cons There's no personal firewall and if you are running a basic firewall, it's a bit annoying. I also find that when running the program in it's entirety, it slows down the system. It worked just fine for a number of years until we suddenly started getting viruses.
