Pros Last year we suffered a cyber attack by computer hackers who took advantage of the weaknesses of our old antivirus to blackmail us with the threat of destroying our database if we did not pay a ransom. Faced with our refusal to yield to their demands, they consequently destroyed our entire administrative system and its databases. This terrible incident forced us to invest in a better antivirus. We evaluate all the options in the market and the most satisfactory for its quality, trajectory, customer service, adaptability and price turned out to be AVG. We have already been a year under the protection of AVG and I have to say that the experience has been totally satisfactory. It is very simple to use, in addition to its scans it is extremely thorough, it does not leave a single byte without scanning and it scans until the last existing malware and spyware. We have felt much more protected under the care of AVG. Cons I truly consider AVG as a very complete antivirus. At an extremely accessible price and a friendly and easy to use interface. Lots of features like scanning browsers, emails and software. Easy to read details and links to types of viruses. Very clean interface. Nice level of common threats detected. I've used Norton and McAfee and for the cost AVG is great. I have a free version at home and at work we have a paid version of AVG and McAfee. I can't tell the difference between the features of any of these to be honest. Cons AVG will sometimes not allow applications to run on my computer. Applications that I need. I can use an administrator override to continue but it's so frustrating. The popup blocker works too good and even after I turn it off for pup ups I need to use for work, it'll reblock them later down the line. It's frustrating to have to constantly tweak features on the software I need. One very frustrating thing that happened to me was my email would not let me sent out emails. I thought maybe I had a virus and after a lot of trouble shooting, I had IT come and check it out. We removed AVG and my email worked. For some reason it was preventing me form using Outlook. I should mention that my Google account worked fine. This was about a year ago and hasn't happened since, but it leaves a bad taste Review Source Luke C. Pros It's free version is better than the rest. Of course the paid is better and offers tons more. Cons It offers its own search page and some employers of older age accept it and then have difficulty finding everything they need. It is not as good as Google. Pros very efficient and effective against malware and viruses as I have been using this Antivirus for a long time. I like most the very light use of memory and resources compared to what I had before and yet it is the cheapest. Cons I have nothing to complain about this software. Yes there paid service is far more exquisite in the aspect that it has more bells and whistles but regardless they have not only cared about profits which is very respectable and that holds merit and says alot about there company. what that tells me is they care about the customer. Avg has real time protection with a very frequently updated data base that contains all the new Trojans, worms, malware, ransomware and more that could potentially harm you. They efficiently watch all the right things in all the right places to catch what is coming in and going out. The avg crew are masters of there craft and can do anything your macafee and Norton can do and more I give them 2 thumbs up I'd give them 3 but I'm il equipped. AVG is always up to date, fast, and accurate." July 11, 2018 5.0 AVG has so far provided me with great support. Since installing AVG my system did not have any issues. It regularly updates and scans your computer. It also detects malware which is very important if you are downloading files regularly. Pros Having used various types of antivirus and malware protection software, I found that AVG served me best. It has a good malware protection system. It has other great capabilities such as destroying any given file leaving no trace of it. I find this very useful specially with the online threats from virus and malware. One of my personal favorite feature is that it does not slow the performance of the computer. AVG regularly updates and helps protect the system.
