Pros BIRT is open source, so it is essentially freeware. It's a popular choice among HR software vendors - Workday, SuccessFactors, Peoplefluent all use BIRT as the internal report engine. Cons BIRT is a bit dated now. It's better than even older technology like Crystal Reports. BIRT takes awhile to learn. It doesn't have good analytic capabilities or advanced features.
