Pros The data they collect is always up-to-date and comprehensive which gives us the necessary insight to do our job. Cons Some options are pretty expensive and doesn't make sense for a smaller team. The data is still necessary but it can't be used by many small businesses. Definitely a powerful tool. Pros As a lead generator, I spend a TON of time doing keyword research. Ahrefs does a fantastic job with finding keywords and keyword phrases that have a lot of search volume with lower keyword ranking difficulty. Cons Other than it being a bit pricey, there is very little I don't like about this software. If anything, the first day or two was a challenge learning how to generate and export custom CSV's. I use this for all my keyword research and competitor analysis. It is the only tool that gives me the accurate search volume of keywords and their corresponding competition. It is often compared to SEMRush (another SEO tool), but Ahrefs has the edge in terms of high-quality data, accuracy, and advanced capabilities. Pros Super fast results, the Dashboard is kick-ass when it comes to getting an SEO overview of any website. And most accurate SEO data compared to competitors. However, for a small business just starting out, the cheapest plan out there is a bit expensive considering that it does not use all the various features that are offered. That is why I think they should create a new plan with more basic functionalities for this segment. Pros Definitely the best of this platform are the varied and complete tools it has to analyze your competitors and improve your marketing strategy. Cons The worst thing about Ahrefs is their payment or membership plans. For small businesses that will not use all the tools that the most basic plan offers, it is expensive. Perhaps selling the features of their platform separately would be more convenient, or in any case create a new membership with more basic features. " July 6, 2021 5.0 I use this tool on a regular basis to help with content planning and competitor analysis. It's an important part of how I help define my team's content strategy. Pros I love being able to do competitive analysis in Ahrefs. This platform genuinely makes it easy to see how competitors are performing and how to position keywords to outrank competitors. I also appreciate the ability to see what competitors are saying in paid search ads. Cons I think Ahrefs isn't always accurate in the keyword search volumes. If you compare them to a tool like Keyword Planner in Google Ads, volume can often look much lower. It's not clear which of the two is wrong. Review Source DT Dexter T. It has a lot of great features that helped us to rank higher on search engines. With Ahrefs, I can spy on our competitors and see their keywords, backlinks and other useful data. I can also track our website's performance and optimize them. Their Backlink Checker tool is one of the best in the business. I also like their Keyword Explorer tool, it shows how competitive the keyword is by analyzing the top 10 results. I also loved their blog and video tutorials. They have a lot of guides and tutorials about SEO and on how to maximize their tool. Cons Sometimes, the tools loads slowly. I don't know if it is just on my end or not. Review Source CH Chris H. Digital Strategy Higher Education Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great for SEO Strategy but Takes Some to Get Going" March 3, 2021 4.0 Once we managed to get accustomed to the interface, it was easy to quickly do keyword research and assess gaps and opportunities in our keyword strategy. The widget made assessment quick and easy - and something that made it easy to communicate to those outside of the marketing department. Ahrefs built-in keyword tools, like 'also rank for' and 'search suggestions' made our analysis efforts much easier so we could focus on other components of our SEO strategies. Pros The best part of the softward is that it doesn't take a big monetary investment to get started. It was about $7 to get started on a trail and then about $100 per month. Once up and running the tools and interface are really solid. We primarily used it for technical SEO and keyword research. In both instances we felt that Ahrefs delivered a solid product at a good price point. Cons The interface isn't as intuiting or user friendly as we had hoped. While that doesn't take away from the overall quality of Ahrefs, it took me a little more time to get up and running, in comparison to other competitors. Cons Some of their rankings data can be pretty off or slow to update, but that said any third party rankings site should have their data taken with a small grain of salt. I love the train tutorials that the marketer does and the information I'm learning seems to be falling into place and I'm quite sure I will be able to dominate my local market and help my clients do the same in short order. Pros this software has more than I will need to take care of all of my customers needs in a big big way! There is no doubt that after learning to use it in an effective way I will be able to provide a tremendous value and help my clients reach higher rankings at a much faster Pace than my bigger competitors. And there's always this one go-to tool that I have that helps me do the work easily. That's Ahrefs. For the most part, I use this monitor the links we get, to check our ranking, keywords, search for relevant content that I can get a link from, do audits and fix issues and more. It's also very user-friendly. Cons Well, can't really think of anything at the moment but perhaps have a better interface on the keyword explorer? That would help. Pros Ahrefs provides the best features on the market according to the link research, backlink monitoring, competitor backlink analysis etc. Content Explorer within the Ahrefs works as a little search engine where you can find relevant topics for future content ideas. Keyword explorer in the redesigned version looks very clear and easy for navigation. You can use filters to separate keywords by word count, volume, keyword difficulty, even from estimate CPC. Overall UX and UI experience are very satisfied which is very important for all SEO tools. Cons I would like to have at least 2 users in the standard plan.
