October 13, 2018 5.0 Pros Whether for my own site or my client's website, Ahrefs is my main SEO software. I'm a Web Developer but developed interest in SEO three years ago. Ahrefs is easy to use and it has improved a lot since the first time I used it. Tracking keywords are very accurate and it shows monthly search volume. Doing keyword research is actually easy. What I liked most about Ahrefs is their Site Explorer feature. It has a lot of SEO data that I need in order to achieve higher rankings and what my competitors are doing. Cons I have a budget for a monthly subscription, so for me, there are no real disadvantages using Ahrefs. But for someone who has a limited budget, he may find that the price is quite high. Sometimes it's another issue at the business. But, if it's an SEO issue, Ahrefs will help you to put a finger on it quickly. Pros Our team uses Ahrefs to analyze Websites that we are proposing take over strategies for managing and providing new SEO services. We love the information that Ahrefs provides and how it helps us to see if the issues a company is experiencing are in fact issues with their Website set up and SEO. It also helps us to focus our proposals. Cons Ahrefs is a pretty sophisticated tool and can get complex. If the user is not experienced with SEO it will be too much. But, if you are an experienced SEO consultant / manager, you will like it! That being said, the tool's shortcomings mean that we still need to rely on other platforms to carry out any in-depth research or planning. Pros Ahrefs is a solid all-round SEO tool, but the powerful backlink analysis feature is where it really brings home the bacon and is by far and away the best backlink tool compared to competitors like Moz. Cons The pricing structure is fairly analogue and isn't suited to smaller businesses looking to break into SEO analysis. More wholistic traffic analysis, like that offered by SimilarWeb, would be a welcome feature. Pros If you're looking for an in-depth report on your (or more likely) a competitors website, then look no further than AHREFS. This handly tool will give you a complete snapshot (and in -depth analysis) on your competitors website and why/how they are ranking on search engines. In particular I use this tool for backlink research/analysis and keyword research/analysis. They started charging my sales tax about 6 months ago. This caused my monthly bill to jump. I expect SaaS providers to absorb taxes into their pricing. It's great to have the ability to receive data that will focus and target our needs. Cons The learning curve is a bit steep. You almost have to know what answer (data) you want to know that the results will be useful. The depth of Ahrefs is fantastic until you don't know of what it's fully capable, so you might miss some data or precise results. It's wonderfully simple to use and the amount of data it provides for the money is immense. Scheduled crawls is a is one of the most useful features I've seen among the competitors as it can run schedules audits every week and or month for me to see the overall progression of the SEO stats. Cons There's very little I don't like about Ahrefs. The somewhat cluttered interface might be a turn off for some, but that's just a little nuisance when you're working with such a useful tool. Pros Ahrefs is by far one of the BEST SEO softwares currently in the market. First, Ahrefs has a fantastic customer service line and resource base making it very easy to quickly find or receive help at any time. They offer a free trial before purchasing their product. They also have one of my personal favorite SEO dashboards. It is customizable and very easy to read and understand and quantify results from. Cons I personally have not encountered any issues with this software beyond the price of it but other than that this is a fantastic software. This has been a big benefit to our SEO team in our link building efforts. Pros Ahrefs is the industry standard for backlink analysis. It crushes other tools in depth and breadth when showing backlink profiles, trends, and other helpful data. You can't call yourself an SEO expert if you don't have this in your toolbox. Cons I would love to find an all-in-one SEO tool. Ahrefs is not it. The backlink analysis tools are great, but the other SEO tools are a bit lacking. It also gets expensive quickly when you layer in all the options. Still, it's a must-have for every SEO team. Just get some combination of ahrefs and Semrush and call it a day. No need to price compare other tools that claim to do the same thing.
