Lots of features: Google offers lots of features for creating a beautiful and useful survey. You can change the layout and design, which makes the survey look professional. There are lots of options for types of questions to ask (multiple choice bubbles, multiple choice check boxes (plus an "other" short answer field), long answer fields, short answer fields, etc.). Survey data is pushed out into a Google Sheets spreadsheet: Like other Google software, the integration into Google Drive is very important to me, and Google Forms is no different. It pushes your data into a Google Sheets spreadsheet with timestamps when you receive answers to questions. I have set this up in the past to combine multiple spreadsheets to combine information from a survey I have created into another spreadsheet. Lots of cool features if you know your way around Google Sheets as well, but this is really only for advanced users. Notifications: You can set up auto email notifications when you get survey responses. Only do this if you've thought through how many emails you want to receive a day (or have them automatically go into a different folder in your inbox). Pros I use google form from the beginning of time😉. It was so easy to use and it helped me to collect reports and take exam of a geographically distributed team in minutes. At the beginning we have to use so many techniques just to make it right but now it improved so much. I can take exam with auto scoring and the result will automatically transfer to a Google Sheet with a single click for analyzing the result to your hearts content. Many of you don't use it much but you can send the respondent completely a different part of the form based on his response. Especially, when your users are in a weak internet zone it is the best form tool to use as its light and fast over slow internet even if you are travelling. Thats why it is my trusted friend when I think the words collect data. Cons Google form is still weak and need advanced skills if you want to force your users in a certain way. Like if you want your respondent to fill up ID the right way you still have to use regular expression tools which are a bit clumsy still now. If you make a mistake there is no auto suggestion to help you out. It will give you a blank look and a confusing an error message. Trust me, decoding the error is similar to your wife's blank look. There's a lot of uses of Google Forms, and it just amazes me how editable and customizable everything is, from the header to the type of questions, and the automatic scoring when used as a questionnaire. I also love that it can be integrated to Google Sheets so results can easily be used in reports. Cons Probably one of the downsides is that your subject (or the one who needs to answer the form or questionnaire) needs to be online all the time. If the internet connection is interrupted and the one answering the form is already on the last page, he/she will lose all information he just provided. There's just no way to save your progress. Also, I wish there was a way that they could incorporate a timer on the form so it can be used for timed quizzes or exams, or just to know how much time it took a person to answer the whole questionnaire or form. So an introduction of templates with varying shapes, or even effects when an answer is selected and so forth could be a great addition.
