### "Great Option for a Startup"

May 2, 2026

4.0

I am happy with my overall experience with Google and Google Meet. I trust their products and I am grateful that it continues to get upgraded and expanded features.

Pros

I am grateful for the value for money option and the easy of setting up meetings. The background options are great - they look realistic and they're beautiful.

Cons

My least favorite thing about Google Meet is the random poor quality of the meeting, probably happening about 20% of the time.

Alternatives considered

[Zoom Workplace](https://www.capterra.com/p/144037/Zoom-Video-Conferencing/)

Reason for choosing Google Meet

It was more expensive to go with Zoom and everyone seems to be familiar with Google Meet.

### "Google Meet"

April 15, 2026

5.0

is a solid tool that does what it needs to without overcomplicating things. The tight integration with Google Workspace is genuinely convenient if you're already using those tools day to day. It's not perfect for every use case but for straightforward meetings it's dependable and easy enough that there's barely any learning curve.

Pros

The Google Calendar integration made joining meetings seamless since the link was always right there without having to search for it. The interface was clean and simple which made it easy to focus on the meeting itself rather than figuring out the tool. Connection quality was also consistently reliable even when my internet wasn't at its best.

Cons

Breakout rooms felt clunky and weren't as smooth to manage compared to other platforms I've used. The engagement options during larger calls were pretty limited and I found myself wishing there were more ways to interact. Background noise cancellation was also inconsistent and sometimes let through more than it should have.

### "Google Meet is a free way to host video meetings and conferences/webinars!"

April 9, 2026

3.0

Pros

It's straightforward to use. The video and audio work fine, and it functions fine as a video conferencing software. There are virtual background options. It's free with a Google account, and there are no limitations to meeting times as far as I can tell. Sharing files within meetings is simple and easy.

Cons

It uses a lot of computer memory when running, so it can make older laptops run their fans to keep from overheating. Most people in the corporate world are used to Zoom by now, and Google Meet is not quite as robust.

### "Perfect for smaller meetings"

March 16, 2026

5.0

Simply put I love it. It's perfect for quick meetings with my team and clients. Everything happens within the application without a lot of confusing menus.

Pros

Very easy to use and because it runs from your browser you don't get stuck outside your meeting while the app updates. Light and very smooth experience. Very simple controls and paired with a Google Workspace subscription you have a lot of controls of things you share within Meet.

Cons

Less participant control for the host as compared to other online meeting applications. Also there is no option for remote control of participant's screen. Works best if you have multiple screens but if you do this is perfect.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Google Meet

I use both Zoom and Meet however, Meet is preferrable for quick meeting for clients.

### "Loyal Google Meet Customer!"

April 24, 2026

5.0

I started using Google Meet when Zoom got overwhelmed with new users in 2020. That platform had begun to glitch on me so I looked for something else that was affordable, user friendly and reliable. Google Meet served all my needs as a small business owner and helped keep my business flowing through the chaotic times of Covid and after I moved away from where the bulk of my clients' live.

Pros

Google Meet is beyond user friendly and supplies multiple functions for small business owners like myself. It's easily accessible and incredibly affordable!

Cons

There's actually nothing that I would change about this platform right now. It met all my needs and allowed me to continue serving my clients even when I moved 1 1/2 hours away AND during Covid!

### "Easy and lightweight"

May 8, 2026

5.0

Very happy with this. It's a great, lightweight, free meeting tool that you can use both for personal meetings as an alternative to Skype/Whatsapp, as well as for business meetings.

Pros

Love that it's free, and there are a ton of options, even on the free plan. Easy to use, it's lightweight, and I love that people can easily join from a mobile device. If you have people joining from a bunch of different types of devices, this is a lot easier to use than Zoom. It also allows you to share your screen.

Cons

The free plan doesn't allow Gemini to record meetings. I use an external notetaker, but it would be nice to have Gemini integrated. Additionally, it allows screen sharing... but you can't take control of someone else's computer! Google Meet, we're waiting for that feature!

Alternatives considered

[Zoom Workplace](https://www.capterra.com/p/144037/Zoom-Video-Conferencing/)

Reason for choosing Google Meet

It's free - even for longer meetings. I couldn't justify the cost of Zoom.

### "In my opinion, google meet is a bit superior to Microsoft Teams "

May 17, 2026

5.0

Pros

I like its ease of use, background option. It doesn't have any bugs problems. Participants are easy to manage. It is not cost to use as Microsoft Teams does.

Cons

The interface looks less professional in my opinion, and that's a minor disadvantage. But other than that, it's superior to Microsoft Teams.

### "Google Meets - Your Virtual Meetings App"

May 24, 2026

5.0

Google Meets is perfect for those already using other google products like Gmail because the integration is seamless.

Pros

I like how easy it is to synch with my emails. My calendar can generate automatic links for meetings just with a time slot.

Cons

Not everyone is familiar with it and it is not as reliable yet as zoom or teams. Sometimes the sound quality is not the best.

### "Quick, reliable meetings that just get the job done"

April 10, 2026

5.0

Overall it’s been reliable and simple for day to day work, I use it every day. Most people already know how to join so less time wasted explaining links. We run client demos, internal standups and training sessions without much trouble. Small hiccups with backgrounds, mobile and audio happen but not often. Integration with Google Workspace makes collaboration smoother for our team. Would recommend for teams who want something quick and dependable.

Pros

I use Google Meet for work for daily calls and it just opens fast, no issues. Joining meetings is easy, clients and partners never struggle with links. Video and audio stay pretty stable even when my home wifi is not great. Screen sharing and presenting a window is smooth, no weird freezes. Integration with Calendar and Gmail saves me time when scheduling. Recording and captions are handy for people who miss the meeting.

Cons

Some advanced settings are blocked and takes time to find them when you need. Background blur and effects sometimes behave weird on older laptops. Mobile app misses a couple desktop features and layout can be confusing. Large file sharing during a meeting is limited, you need Drive links instead. Occasional audio echo or lag on certain networks, needs manual fiddling. Permissions can be confusing, once I accidentally left a meeting open to anyone.

### "Simple, reliable and easy for everyday meetings"

May 14, 2026

5.0

Overall, Google Meet has been reliable and convenient for both personal and professional meetings. The interface is clean, easy to navigate and works well for quick video calls, team meetings and online communication. I also like that there is no complicated setup required.

Pros

Google Meet is simple to use and easy to join from any device. I like how smoothly it connects with Gmail and Google Calendar, making meetings quick to schedule and access. The video and audio quality are usually very good as well.

Cons

Sometimes the connection quality depends heavily on internet speed, and a few advanced features are limited compared to some other meeting platforms unless you have a paid plan.

### "Meet Google Meet!"

December 23, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Google Meet has been extremely positive. The program is all around really well realized. I feel it's easier to use than other video conferencing applications. I prefer to use Google Meet over any other program of it's kind.

Pros

Google Meet is very intuitive and easy to use. I appreciate how user friendly the interface is. Also I like the many features and settings.

Cons

There's really not much to not like about this application. I wish there was just a bit more customization with my user profile.

### "Better deal, less appeal"

January 9, 2026

5.0

Overall it’s easy to set up, invite others to, get the meeting started and record. As the number of attendees increases, the screen view does not accommodate them well and there are not a lot of features like a whiteboard to help with presentation.

Pros

After using zoom through the pandemic, we needed a cheaper and less restrictive option. Google Meet is free for what we need and super easy to use!

Cons

There are fewer online meeting features with Google Meet as compared to other online platforms and viewing many people is tough.

### "Great, inexpensive platform!"

November 28, 2025

5.0

Overall, Google Meet has been a dependable tool for managing interviews, team check-ins, and remote onboarding. It keeps our hiring process running smoothly and reduces a lot of the friction that usually comes with virtual meetings. It’s not overly fancy, but it gets the job done and supports our HR operations in a simple, efficient way.

Pros

Google Meet makes scheduling and hosting virtual interviews super easy. It integrates smoothly with Google Calendar, which keeps our team organized and avoids double-booking. The video quality is usually reliable, and the platform is straightforward enough that even less tech-savvy candidates can join without issues. I also like that everything is browser-based, so there’s no app download barrier.

Cons

When the internet connection isn’t strong, the audio can get choppy and cause delays during interviews. The screen-sharing tools work, but they’re pretty basic, and sometimes it feels limited compared to other platforms. Breakout rooms would also be helpful for group interviews or onboarding sessions, but they’re not always intuitive to set up.

### "Simple, Reliable, and Perfect for Everyday Meetings!"

March 31, 2026

4.0

Overall it’s great for something that’s free. I use it every day and hardly ever run into problems. I really like how it’s built right into Google Calendar, so I don’t have to deal with creating and sharing meeting links like you do with Zoom.

Pros

\- imbedded into google calendar - not too laggy - easy simple and nice looking UI - free to use Google Meet is honestly pretty easy to use and gets the job done! It connects right into Google Calendar so joining meetings is super quick and convenient. It usually runs smoothly without much lag which is nice, and the layout is clean and simple so you don’t have to figure anything out. It's also free, which makes it a great option for everyday calls.

Cons

The mic can be a bit unreliable sometimes, with random connectivity issues that can get annoying (and require headphones). Occasionally you have to restart your computer just to fix it.

### "My daily standup and incident room"

January 25, 2026

5.0

It is standard for our team communication. We use it for every sprint planning. It is reliable mostly and I don't need to install app, it works in browser. Good for handling production incidents calls with many engineers joining together.

Pros

I use this for daily standup and architecture review. It is very easy to share screen and show the cloud console logs. Integration with calendar is smooth, just one click to join. Background noise cancellation helps when I am working from noisy cafe.

Cons

Sometimes when I share screen, my laptop becomes very slow and hot. If internet is fluctuating, the voice breaks a lot. I cannot send large log files directly in chat easily. It consumes lot of battery on my laptop during long calls.

### "Google Meet provides a terrific, easy to use video call service that can be free for most"

February 8, 2026

4.0

The rise of COVID and the increase of co-workers working from home made conferencing software vital, and Google did the right kind of integration with the rest of their services to make something that works for most people's needs.

Pros

For smaller teams, or just one-on-one meetings, Google Meet has more capability than most people need, and works when you need it to.

Cons

Needing to pay in order to get access to things like recordings is unfortunate, but understandable. The free tier is enough for most.

### "Not a formal interface but the best functionality "

January 2, 2026

5.0

We use this for all of our internal meetings and most of our external meetings. It has a brilliant record function, a chat function, and it almost never glitches, which is why it is a turnkey solution for us.

Pros

Wow, everything was Google just works better, there’s a bit of a casual feeling to the interface which makes it seem less professional than teams, but the functionality is way better. They’re almost never glitches or issues with admitting people.

Cons

I think the fact that it looks less professional in the interface is a bit of a drawback, but everything else is better than Microsoft teams
