### "Great Option for a Startup"

May 2, 2026

4.0

I am happy with my overall experience with Google and Google Meet. I trust their products and I am grateful that it continues to get upgraded and expanded features.

Pros

I am grateful for the value for money option and the easy of setting up meetings. The background options are great - they look realistic and they're beautiful.

Cons

My least favorite thing about Google Meet is the random poor quality of the meeting, probably happening about 20% of the time.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Google Meet

It was more expensive to go with Zoom and everyone seems to be familiar with Google Meet.

### "A Highly Reliable, Secure, and Foolproof Virtual Classroom Solution"

May 30, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Google Meet has been exceptionally positive. As an educator, it serves as a highly reliable and efficient backbone for virtual classrooms. While it may lack a few advanced student-engagement tools out of the box, its seamless connection with Google Workspace, rock-solid security, and foolproof ease of use completely outweigh the minor drawbacks. It makes distance learning organized, accessible, and smooth for both teachers and students alike

Pros

What I appreciate most about Google Meet is how user-friendly it is for both teachers and students. Managing large classes is very easy, and the platform doesn't lag during live presentations. It is lightweight, highly secure, and makes online interactive learning completely hassle-free

Cons

It is a bit restrictive that you cannot record lectures natively unless you have a premium enterprise account. Also, managing permissions for external students (those joining without a school domain email) can sometimes be a bit tedious during a live session.

### "Simple, Reliable, and Good Enough for Everyday Meetings"

December 9, 2025

3.0

Overall, my experience has been mostly positive. It’s reliable enough for daily use, easy for new users, and integrates with the rest of Google Workspace. While it lacks advanced features, it handles standard meetings without much friction. For everyday communication and team check-ins, it works well enough.

Pros

Google Meet is easy to use, cleanly designed, and simple for anyone to join or host meetings with minimal confusion. The integration with Google Calendar and Drive is convenient, though some background options, participant controls, and file-sharing features feel limited compared to competitors. Occasional audio drops or screen-share glitches show up, but nothing that makes the tool unusable. Overall, it’s a fairly reliable everyday meeting platform that covers the essentials well. Best of all it's freeeee!

Cons

What I like least is the limited feature set compared to other video platforms. Backgrounds lag or pixelate, participant management tools feel basic, and screen sharing can behave inconsistently. When issues happen, support isn’t very accessible, and troubleshooting falls mostly on the user. It works, but it’s missing some depth and polish that heavier platforms offer.

### "Google Meet"

April 15, 2026

5.0

is a solid tool that does what it needs to without overcomplicating things. The tight integration with Google Workspace is genuinely convenient if you're already using those tools day to day. It's not perfect for every use case but for straightforward meetings it's dependable and easy enough that there's barely any learning curve.

Pros

The Google Calendar integration made joining meetings seamless since the link was always right there without having to search for it. The interface was clean and simple which made it easy to focus on the meeting itself rather than figuring out the tool. Connection quality was also consistently reliable even when my internet wasn't at its best.

Cons

Breakout rooms felt clunky and weren't as smooth to manage compared to other platforms I've used. The engagement options during larger calls were pretty limited and I found myself wishing there were more ways to interact. Background noise cancellation was also inconsistent and sometimes let through more than it should have.

### "Loyal Google Meet Customer!"

April 24, 2026

5.0

I started using Google Meet when Zoom got overwhelmed with new users in 2020. That platform had begun to glitch on me so I looked for something else that was affordable, user friendly and reliable. Google Meet served all my needs as a small business owner and helped keep my business flowing through the chaotic times of Covid and after I moved away from where the bulk of my clients' live.

Pros

Google Meet is beyond user friendly and supplies multiple functions for small business owners like myself. It's easily accessible and incredibly affordable!

Cons

There's actually nothing that I would change about this platform right now. It met all my needs and allowed me to continue serving my clients even when I moved 1 1/2 hours away AND during Covid!

### "Easy and lightweight"

May 8, 2026

5.0

Very happy with this. It's a great, lightweight, free meeting tool that you can use both for personal meetings as an alternative to Skype/Whatsapp, as well as for business meetings.

Pros

Love that it's free, and there are a ton of options, even on the free plan. Easy to use, it's lightweight, and I love that people can easily join from a mobile device. If you have people joining from a bunch of different types of devices, this is a lot easier to use than Zoom. It also allows you to share your screen.

Cons

The free plan doesn't allow Gemini to record meetings. I use an external notetaker, but it would be nice to have Gemini integrated. Additionally, it allows screen sharing... but you can't take control of someone else's computer! Google Meet, we're waiting for that feature!

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Google Meet

It's free - even for longer meetings. I couldn't justify the cost of Zoom.

### "Google Meet for random meetings "

June 13, 2026

Pros

Amazing free app for quick meetings or scheduled meetings with anyone. You just have to send the link and you are quick to go. You can also share screen and send files through the chat.

Cons

Sometimes the video quality is not that good. It offers some filters to improve your video but those filters also make you quite blurry.

### "In my opinion, google meet is a bit superior to Microsoft Teams "

May 17, 2026

5.0

Pros

I like its ease of use, background option. It doesn't have any bugs problems. Participants are easy to manage. It is not cost to use as Microsoft Teams does.

Cons

### "Google Meet Review"

June 8, 2026

5.0

Overall this is a great platform for my team to have video calls/meetings. It covers all the basics we need and is free.

Pros

For my small team the free tier is perfect and very cost effective. This is one of the easiest platforms I have used. Set up of accounts/meetings is also very easy.

Cons

You are limited to how you can customize it and it can feel basic at times. I have had trouble screen sharing and trying to get help from support is tough as they are more hands off.

December 23, 2025

5.0

Very positive. Google meet is my video conferencing software of choice given price to value and easy integration into rest of the Google suite.

Pros

Cons

### "Best tool for online meetings. "

August 4, 2025

5.0

I've been using Google Meet for several years now, hosting several meetings every week, sometimes every day, without issues. I've never needed Customer Support and never dealt with any bugs or issues. It's really great. I especially love how easy it is to integrate with Google Calendars, confirm, and schedule meetings, even from your mobile.

Pros

Google Meet is my favorite meeting tool. It's free, easy to use, works better than other tools I've used, doesn't require additional app installations, provides great background options, and makes it easy to share screens, information, and files with the other participants during the meeting.

Cons

It's difficult to find faults. I like everything about it, from the friendly interface to the lovely backgrounds, intuitive menu, and streamline functioning.

### "Great, inexpensive platform!"

November 28, 2025

5.0

Overall, Google Meet has been a dependable tool for managing interviews, team check-ins, and remote onboarding. It keeps our hiring process running smoothly and reduces a lot of the friction that usually comes with virtual meetings. It’s not overly fancy, but it gets the job done and supports our HR operations in a simple, efficient way.

Pros

Google Meet makes scheduling and hosting virtual interviews super easy. It integrates smoothly with Google Calendar, which keeps our team organized and avoids double-booking. The video quality is usually reliable, and the platform is straightforward enough that even less tech-savvy candidates can join without issues. I also like that everything is browser-based, so there’s no app download barrier.

Cons

When the internet connection isn’t strong, the audio can get choppy and cause delays during interviews. The screen-sharing tools work, but they’re pretty basic, and sometimes it feels limited compared to other platforms. Breakout rooms would also be helpful for group interviews or onboarding sessions, but they’re not always intuitive to set up.

### "Simple, Reliable, and Perfect for Everyday Meetings!"

March 31, 2026

4.0

Overall it’s great for something that’s free. I use it every day and hardly ever run into problems. I really like how it’s built right into Google Calendar, so I don’t have to deal with creating and sharing meeting links like you do with Zoom.

Pros

\- imbedded into google calendar - not too laggy - easy simple and nice looking UI - free to use Google Meet is honestly pretty easy to use and gets the job done! It connects right into Google Calendar so joining meetings is super quick and convenient. It usually runs smoothly without much lag which is nice, and the layout is clean and simple so you don’t have to figure anything out. It's also free, which makes it a great option for everyday calls.

Cons

The mic can be a bit unreliable sometimes, with random connectivity issues that can get annoying (and require headphones). Occasionally you have to restart your computer just to fix it.

### "The Online Meet Up Spot - Google Meet"

February 23, 2026

5.0

Overall, Google Meet has proven to be a reliable and easy to use video conferencing software that is great for all meeting sizes. It is easy to manage, has a well designed user interface and for new users it is simple to learn.

Pros

Google Meet is an ideal platform for video calling and meeting that is widely accessible and does not require installation of any additional software. The built in tools like custom backgrounds or blurred backgrounds is convenient for users who may wish to adjust their background imagery. It is incredibly simple to set up meetings and to invite participants both inside and outside of your organization. Since most people are already familiar with Google products the learning curve for using Google Meet is incredibly simple and takes virtually no time to adjust to.

Cons

There really isn't much that I can critique about Google Meet, the only thing I could say negatively is when you are running it through Google Chrome it can be quite resource-heavy on your computer and can sometimes cause lag issues if you don't have a fast upload/download speed from your internet provider. I think this is fairly common across many web-connected Google services as it eats up a lot of RAM.

### "google meet is good for my client calls."

October 22, 2025

i had to present a big marketing strategy to a new client in usa. we are in india. travel was not possible. we used google meet. i shared my screen and showed them all the slides, the data, and the social media plan. the call was for 1 hour and it worked perfectly. the client was very happy and we got the project.

Pros

it is very easy to use. i just send a link and everyone can join. no need to download big software. i like screen sharing a lot. i can show my marketing reports and presentations to clients very easily. the calendar integration is also very good, it reminds me of my meetings. background change option is very useful during meetings.

Cons

sometimes the video quality is not very good, especially if many people are in the call. the free version has a time limit which is a problem for long meetings. also finding the recording after the meeting is sometimes confusing. it goes to my drive but i have to search for it.

### "Google Meet provides a terrific, easy to use video call service that can be free for most"

February 8, 2026

4.0

The rise of COVID and the increase of co-workers working from home made conferencing software vital, and Google did the right kind of integration with the rest of their services to make something that works for most people's needs.

Pros

For smaller teams, or just one-on-one meetings, Google Meet has more capability than most people need, and works when you need it to.

Cons

Needing to pay in order to get access to things like recordings is unfortunate, but understandable. The free tier is enough for most.
