Everytime I used it.somryjong else went wrong and this resulted in frustration.Not typical for a Google product. Pros It was included in my Google Workspaced account so I did not have to purchase another product..it was a Google product. Cons I found it very slow . Screen sharrs were past slow and this made it unusable..also it was not reliable . April 25, 2025 3.0 I have regularly used Zoom, join.me and Teams in the past. If Google Meet could resolve the giant green screen issue it would be my favorite tool for screen sharing. Fortunately, I am typically the one sharing so its not a major issue but does cause frustration whenever someone shares with me. Pros Google meet is simple to use. Typically clients can join meetings without needing too much direction. Cons Occasionally, a client will not be able to access the meeting if they have a Gmail account that they don't remember their login info. It seems by default, that Google meet pushes you to sign in with your Google credentials as opposed to another email account. I have had this prevent clients from being able to join. Another issue is when others attempt to screen share with me (on group calls specifically where multiple people are in the meeting) I cannot view their screen, instead it is just a giant green screen. I have yet to find a resolution to this problem. Good for everyday meetings, just lacks a few of the nicer features you get elsewhere. Pros Super easy to jump into meetings, especially if you’re already using Gmail or Calendar. No one ever struggles to join which is a big win. It’s pretty reliable too, video/audio quality is solid most of the time. Screen sharing is simple and does what you need without messing around. Cons Feels a bit basic compared to other platforms. Backgrounds and customisation aren’t great, and managing participants can be a bit clunky if you’ve got a bigger meeting. We love using a meeting solution that is integrated with the rest of our communication tools. The idea of switching to a third party at this point sounds very unappealing. Pros It is seamlessly integrated with everything else in Google Workspace which we use for all of our communication and document sharing. Cons Google occasionally rolls out new features without giving you notice or a choice. Recently in the middle of a company-wide meeting Google decided to merge my audio stream with another person because our computers were close to each other - but we were in different offices on opposite sides of a wall! It is easy and free to use, and allows me to access colleagues at all times from anywhere. Pros The thing about Google Meet I like the most is that it is a free app that allows for virtual meetings to take place. I also like that you can use it via the app or through the online platform, allows you to share your screen or information while using the platform, and is easy to use. Cons The only con regarding Google Meet is that not all colleagues I've worked with have tried using it, and sometimes prefer other platforms. Cons Google Meet sometimes has a bug where you join the "room" and another participant cannot join the "room" unless multiple participants physically approve the other participant to join (which is instead usually provided by the admin of the webinar or meeting). It's the primary software I use for video conferencing. Very handy when it's included as part of Google's suite of offerings. Pros Recording your meetings and also these accessing recordings is easy to do. I like how you can integrate Google Meet with Google Drive to save meetings there. Cons I would like if there was an option to host meetings with higher video quality. Cons Whilst it represented good value for money, we found that unless we paid for a higher tier, the quality of the screen sharing was not sufficient for internal meetings. I would really appreciate more features that would be so helpful with the experience Pros Unlike other video call platforms, they use less data but still runs smoothly. I am currently living at a place where some video call platforms are either slow or not working at all. Google Meet is the only place I can call my clients and friends without any issues. However, for teachers who do a lot of screensharing or people who run group classes or webinars/masterclasses, there are other platforms out there that better meet the needs of those situations. Pros I like that it's an accessible video-call platform that can be used directly in the browser and doesn't require downloading an app or even having a Google account. Cons I have not used the desktop app, but when using it in a browser, screensharing is quite annoying. I have run into issues where I would have needed to restart the call in order to enable permissions to share a different window.
