Excel is a great spreadsheet app, allowing you to meet all of your business needs, including managing data, creating/embedding graphs, creating macros, report generation and more. It has a ton of features. Cons When you first begin you will find it has a lot of features and the learning curve can be a bit steep, but once you use it for a while it gets intuitive. If you have an older version, you own it and don't have to pay monthly; but the newer versions you are Saas and you have to pay forever, so that's a bummer. I've used it for many years and over time, I've gotten all sort of new ways to do things and save time. Pivot tables have become so easy (vs years ago). There are so many options for graphs! Cons Sometimes the format from on file doesn't carry over to the other one. It would be nice if the tabs were bigger so that they allowed more characters. It makes it easy to organise data, track expenses, and create reports without much hassle. I like that there are ready-made templates when I don't want to start from scratch, and the layout feels familiar once you've used it a few times. It also works well on my laptop and phone, which is handy when I need to check something quickly. Whenever I've been stuck, I've usually found answers through Microsoft's help pages or online community. Overall, it's been a dependable tool for both work and personal use. Cons Although Excel is a great tool overall, it does have a few downsides. Some features can be difficult to find, especially after updates change the layout, so navigation isn't always straightforward. I've also experienced the occasional bug, such as slow performance or a file freezing when working with large spreadsheets, which can be frustrating. The mobile version is useful for quick edits but feels limited compared to the desktop app. In terms of value for money, the Microsoft 365 subscription can feel expensive if you only use Excel occasionally. I use it for budgeting and managing finances at work and home. Pros I like using excel more than google sheets because there are more features. I like Microsoft because I can buy the product and not have to pay a subscription. I like that it is smarter now and can do formulas and equations easier Cons I think the main issue is that my Microsoft Excel works on my work PC laptop but not compatible with my MacBook.
