“What I like least about Microsoft Excel is how easy it is for spreadsheets to become overly complex and difficult to manage. ### "Excel: Use it, Love it."

May 11, 2026

4.0

It is reliable, versatile, and extremely useful for reporting, tracking, reconciliations, budgeting, and data analysis. The flexibility of formulas, tables, and filtering tools makes it valuable for both everyday tasks and detailed financial work.

Pros

What stood out most about Microsoft Excel is how powerful and flexible it is for organizing data, tracking information, building reports, and analyzing numbers.

Cons

What stood out least about Microsoft Excel is that large or heavily formatted spreadsheets can become slow, cluttered, and difficult to troubleshoot, especially when formulas or links break unexpectedly.

### "Excel: From Day-to-Day to Accounting"

April 13, 2026

5.0

Overall, Excel is a product that we use in our business day-to-day and in many different capacities. It is fundamental for our accounting but is also important for tracking in other roles. While getting the most use of the functions requires a high level of Excel knowledge, it is still a must-have!

Pros

Excel is an incredibly powerful and flexible tool that allows us to bridge the gap between our Client Management System and true accounting. Our CMS is not designed with accounting in mind therefore there are a lot of inconsistencies however Excel allows us the freedom and flexibility to maintain clear detailed records. The ability to customize and build almost anything makes Excel a must-have in our business. From building reconciliations, trackers and forecasting to then having the ability to analyze that data. Many users in our business who are at a beginner level of Excel enjoy the templates that are available.

Cons

While Excel is paramount to our business, specifically accounting, the largest flaw would be the knowledge dependency. Unfortunately Excel is not always user friendly and therefore requires an advanced user to generate worksheets for others as well as fix them if something is broken or written over. Because of this, there is a higher likelihood of errors for users at a beginner level. The other flaw would be that as data grows, the files do become slow and harder to maintain.

### "Good product, needs updates"

March 27, 2026

3.0

Pros

Excel is a program that I am familiar with and is easy to use, this is mostly due to it's longevity within the data world. I really appreciate how easy the navigation bars are to use. They are laid out in categories that make sense.

Cons

I feel Excel has not changed much or added actual product enhancements for a while. This has made it hard for Excel to keep up with other products like sheets.

### "Still the best spreadsheet tool"

March 16, 2026

4.0

Microsoft still offers the most feature rich and stable spreadsheet tool on the market. If they could return to allowing their customers to simply purchase software they could recapture a dwindling market share.

Pros

As a long time user of Excel I can personally say that it is and always has been the best spreadsheet tool for a variety of applications. Whether it be templates, data analysis, pivot tables, flyers or nearly anything else, Excel has the easiest navigation and compatibility for desktop and mobile users.

Cons

Subscription pricing is a big let let down. Unless you get some kind of promotional deal the value for the cost may drive you to a competitor that allows you to own your copy of the software. For bugs and other issues, Microsoft's support fall a bit short. The open community is far more helpful.

### "Essential Data Organization Tool"

April 9, 2026

5.0

Pros

Microsoft is a very useful tool and has become the industry standard across different organizations I have worked for. Because it is set up like other Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, etc.), it is easy to start using. Overall, Excel is a great tool for data collection, comparisons, and visualization. It really is beneficial for most work environments.

Cons

Excel is complex and can take some time to learn beyond the basics. Luckily, there are lots of help tools oit there.

Cons

### "Excel is a Math No Brainer"

April 10, 2026

5.0

I use excel for work and for personal budgeting. I also use it for lists. I make lists all day long and especially grocery and packing lists before trips, its so easy.

Pros

Excel makes math and accounting easy even if you are not a math or accounting person. I have been using it since high school and I basically refuse to do any budgeting until I can get to my computer and use excel.

Cons

I don't know all of the codes and shortcuts to make working with large workbooks and databases quicker but I can google it when the need arises.

### "Excel still dominating the software generation"

April 13, 2026

5.0

overall my experience is good. in my day to day activities i'm able to pull data from other software into an excel document and manipulate the vast majority of data more easily than clicking multiple links in the software i'm drawing from.

Pros

Excel allows a user to easily manipulate data and data entry. Excel uses multiple routes to show and develop data so anybody can easily interpret the confusing world of numbers

Cons

fortunately there are not many things with excel i like least. however if i were to change anything it would be the access to the built in formulas in the software. maybe include some AI to assist a user in choosing the correct formula.

### "Excel at your reporting "

April 25, 2026

Pleasant, easy to use. Great for running daily to monthly reports. Creating many different tables. It has been a pleasant experience.

Pros

I truly love using excel. Microsoft has a wonderful customer support process. Excel Is very easy to use. The premade templates help tremendously. The software is very easy to navigate through. I find that Excel is compatible with many different softwares for many different reporting reasons.

Cons

I can honestly say I have not found anything I dislike about Microsoft Excel. If you know how to use excel, problems shouldn’t arise.

### "Great program, somewhat difficult to learn all the features. "

April 15, 2026

4.0

Microsoft products are reliable and consistent, Excel is no different. It is not my favorite program, but very functional for use with databases.

Pros

I love what you can do with formulas to keep track of all kinds of information. We use Excel for several databases.

Cons

As helpful as they are, it is still difficult for me to use formulas when setting up a document. I wish it were a little easier to achieve the results I'm looking for.

### "Undisputed industry standard, but requires mastery to unlock its full potential"

March 25, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Microsoft Excel is positive, simply because it is the absolute backbone of modern business operations. It is the ultimate digital Swiss Army knife. You can use it for quick, ad-hoc lists, or you can build fully automated, complex reporting dashboards.

Pros

From simple data entry to complex financial modeling, Power Query, and VBA, nothing else comes close to the power of Excel. Features like Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP make slicing and dicing data incredibly efficient. Because it is almost always bundled with Microsoft 365, the value is exceptionally high. You get an enterprise-grade analytical tool included in your standard tech stack. Everyone uses it. You never have to worry about whether a vendor or client will be able to open an .xlsx file, making cross-organizational collaboration the default.

Cons

While powerful, there is a breaking point. If you load a workbook with too many volatile formulas, complex formatting, or hundreds of thousands of rows, it can become sluggish, freeze, or crash entirely.

### "Microsoft 'Excel's with their Spreadsheets"

March 3, 2026

5.0

I use Excel to manage many documents, from simple to complex. I love the Desktop version of Excel more than any other piece of software on my computer, as it can do nearly anything.

Pros

This is, by far, the best spreadsheet software I've used. It's easy to use, feature rich (desktop version mainly), and has templates for everything you could possibly need. The search function has made finding anything that moves much easier, and the browser version has made it so we can access our documents from our phones. I would definitely say, this is worth the money. Customer support, when needed, can be immensely helpful.

Cons

Customer support, when needed, can also be very unhelpful. If there are bugs or issues that haven't been previously reported en masse, you might just not have a solution, and need to find a work-around, which may, or may not, be possible.

### "Microsoft Excel, the perfect complementary tool"

February 11, 2026

4.0

I use Excel daily to organize import manifests and create tracking reports for our clients. It’s the perfect companion to CargoWise

Pros

It's Indispensable for data analysis and reporting. The ability to use Pivot Tables to cross-reference shipping data from our ERP is key

Cons

Handling very large datasets can sometimes slow down the performance, and the learning curve for advanced macros is steep

### "Excellent software by Microsoft"

February 8, 2026

5.0

My overall experience is excellent. Excel is an high quality software. Easy to use to prepare tabs for every necessity.

Pros

Microsoft Excel is part of the suite Microsoft 365, as well as Word. It's an easy to use software, simple to navigate and with nice templates. It's compatible with mobile devices and I never had troubles with bugs or issues of any kind. The customer support is active and ready to help. The cost of this software anyway is a little high.

Cons

The only con I can find is related to the cost. There are similar products that work pretty well for free. I think Microsoft should consider to make some offer related to their software.

### "Versatile and Easy to use"

April 2, 2026

Overall I love the many ways you can use Excel to fit your preference and use for it. From work to everyday life its a go to app for me, my family and the entire company

Pros

I love the fact that you can use Excel in so many ways. From financial sheets, list building, lead management and one of my colleagues created an excelsheet from where we could launch and play counterstrike and minecrat even without having the actual game installed on our computers

Cons

Sometimes when creating a leads lit its hard or at least I find it difficult to ensure that telephone numbers remain as telephonenumbers and it doesnt get chanes to a weird numeric system by itself

### "Excel - My Personal Favorite Spreadsheet Program"

November 17, 2025

5.0

I have been using Excel for over twenty years now and have created some massive functions to help streamline financial statement preparations. After using Lotus, Excel is a much better and advanced product. I've seen demos off other spreadsheet products but think I will always prefer Excel.

Pros

Having started my spreadsheet experience on Lotus, I find Excel to have great functionality, it is easy to use and navigate and the Help function is solid.

Cons

I sometimes get lost in creating functions. My logic does not always translate to the logic in Excel.

### "Great product"

December 4, 2025

I like excel and use it on a daily basis. It is easy to use and with the right knowledge you can make advanced spreadsheets covering a lot of data. You can use formulas to easily compile data and get the numbers you are looking for.

Pros

Microsoft excel is an awesome product that allows you to make simple and complex spreadsheets. I like all the features, charts, formulas and functions that excel allows you to use.

Cons

Although there is a lot of positive stuff about excel it is very poor at handling large datasets and difficult to use when switching versions.

### "Keep Business Data Organized with Microsoft Spreadsheets"

May 31, 2026

5.0

I regularly use Excel for organizing sales data, tracking performance metrics, analyzing reports, and managing business information. Once you learn the core functionality and some of the more advanced features, Excel becomes a powerful tool for data analysis, reporting, forecasting, and overall business productivity.

Pros

I like using Excel for its versatility and ability to handle everything from simple data tracking to advanced analysis and reporting. Whether I'm organizing prospect lists, tracking sales activities, building reports, or analyzing data on a spreadsheet, Excel provides the flexibility to customize spreadsheets exactly how I need them. I also like using the different features like formulas, pivot tables, filtering, conditional formatting, and charts. I also like how well it integrates with other products within Microsoft 365.

Cons

As spreadsheets become larger, it can sometimes be difficult to keep data organized and easy to navigate. I would like to see more intuitive ways to structure and visualize large datasets, particularly when working with extensive rows, columns, and multiple tabs.

### "Stay organized with Microsoft Excel! "

May 14, 2026

5.0

At first Microsoft Excel was overwhelming to me, as a beginner. But after using it for years it has only helped reduce my mental load as Excel keeps everything organized, capable, and controlled.

Pros

What I like most about Microsoft Excel is that it gives you a sense of control as everything is organized. Excel allows you to structure things neatly.

Cons

What I like least about Microsoft Excel is that as a beginner you could feel overwhelmed as it takes time and experience to be proficient in using it.

### "Still the cornerstone of data and information"

October 11, 2025

5.0

I’ve learned how to use, and have applied my knowledge of Excel for 30 years, and I would say, it complete sincerity, I would not have accomplished many things in my career, or developed specific logical thinking patterns in the same way, had I not used Excel.

Pros

I’ve been using Excel since I read the hard-copy MS Excel 95 manuals, and I just don’t see it going away. Ever. The constant development of the product to refine features, including LAMBDA functions, co-pilot function addition, and native integration across the entire MS ecosystem makes Excel the Goliath that will not be slain by David. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting your career, my strong advice is “learn to use Excel functions”. The use of excel in my opinion is not just about being able to do a lookup, or build a pivot table that works for you, it offers a solid base for building logical thinking patterns to formulaic design that is useful in all aspects of software development and use. MS Excel is the king of cell based workbook tools, and whilst others will come and go, Excel IS the standard.

Cons

Having seen the recent Word re-brand/re-design, I suspect Excel may have yet ANOTHER GUI change, but we’ll see. That could be a change to dislike for a week or so until it becomes normal.

I use Excel pretty often, and it’s honestly one of those programs that does way more than you expect. I like how you can go from simple lists to more detailed reports all in one place. It does take some time to learn the advanced stuff, but even the basics are super useful.

Pros

I really like excel, is a very versatile program that you can use from your computer or your cellphone or tablet/ipad. Is pretty easy to use, cheap and also you can have many templates with differents ideas like tracking your incomes/expenses, organize travel ideas, shopping list, class list and more

Cons

Can feel overwhelming at first, especially for beginners, but as soon as you get familiar with it you will use it for anything in your daily basic or profesional life.
