Microsoft customer support can be difficult to reach at times, but has been exceptional to work with each time I have ended up needing their help (and many things you’d usually need customer support for can be done on their website). Good value for money especially when bundled with other microsoft products. Cons It can be difficult to remember more difficult functions beyond what is obvious (like sum, divide, etc) and there is not much in the program that can assist you in better understanding its capabilities. I've used it for everything from simple budgets to really complex data analysis projects, and it's never let me down. Pros Excel is really powerful. It's my go to for anything involving numbers or data analysis. Formulas and pivot tables are killer for slicing and dicing data. Conditional formatting and charts make it easy to spot trends at a glance. And you can automate practically anything. Cons Excel is definitely not winning any usability awards in 2026 and if you're not a total spreadsheet geek like me, the UI is straight out of the stone age, and some of the more advanced features are buried in the clunky menus. Collabing on complex sheets can be a major headache too if you're not careful with the sharing settings, plus it's often overkill for simple stuff like basic lists or tables.
