### "Microsoft Excel review"

March 12, 2026

5.0

Generally very good - use it daily for tracking productivity and expenses. There was a learning curve but it is well worth the investment of time.

Pros

Gold standard spreadsheet generator. Many available resources to assist with making spreadsheets for numerous functions. Formulas take practice to learn but are easy once you learn them.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve. Errors on a formula or on the sheet can propagate to other areas if you don’t realize the error is there.

Overall my experience with Microsoft Excel has been satisfactory. It can take a bit of time to master but overall I am happy with the program.

Pros

What I like most about Microsoft Excel is the automatic save feature is terrific. No more forgetting to save work.

Cons

What I like the least is that when converting to other programs some data can get lost during the conversion.

Cons

processing power may be a bit weak- iterative processes take longer than they will with other products such as python or R

### "Excel - the Backbone of the Finance Industry"

March 8, 2026

4.0

Used every single day, from basic calculations to complex multiperiod models Excel is easily customisable.

Pros

Excel is fantastic for creating accounting workbooks and bespoke investment models. We have been able to apply Monte Carlo Simulations for scenario analysis and use Excels for large data models too, saving thousands per year vs the cost of buying bespoke software.

Cons

Copilot functionality in Excel is of very limited use. Most suggestions are trying to arrange spreadsheets into data table, which are very unpopular with the Excel users I work with. I was disappointed with the limitations of Python within Excel and have been unable to make any real use of Python coding.

### "I love Excel!"

January 14, 2026

5.0

I've been using it for years, and love it! It can be uses for simple cost tracking or very detailed, multi-page schedules.

Pros

I love building intricate spreadsheets that are easy to read and use it for tracking costs and scheduling.

Cons

Sometimes I do not know a formula and get errors. This is frustrating, when I cant figure it out. If the spreadsheet gets compromised, that can get frustrating too.

### "Powerful tool for data and analysis"

January 11, 2026

5.0

Overall my experience is excellent. It is one of my main tools for data analysis and reporting at work.

Pros

Excel is very powerful. I like the advanced formulas, data analysis, and flexibility for complex reports. The price also is very affordable.

Cons

It has a learning curve. Some features are not very intuitive at the beginning, but using AI Copilot nowadays could help.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Microsoft Excel

When I need something more powerful, excel is the best option.

### "Reliable and powerful tool for everyday data work"

December 15, 2025

My overall experience with Microsoft Excel has been very positive. It is a addectible tool for managing data, performing calculations, and creating reports. Excel works well for both simple tasks and advanced data analysis.

Pros

Excel is easy to use for anyone basic tasks such as data entry, simple formulas, and formatting. Excel offers good value for money, for me especially when included with the Microsoft 365 subscription. It provides many powerful features that are useful for my work, business, and personal use.

Cons

The mobile app works well for viewing and quickly editing files. However, using advanced features is easier on the desktop version. Excel is generally stable, but very big files or mixture formulas can sometimes cause slow performance or sometimes crashes

My overall experience with Microsoft Excel has been very good. It’s a powerful tool that helps me manage and understand data in an organized way. Even though some advanced features take time to learn, the benefits are worth it. I use it regularly for budgeting, planning, and reports, and I consider it one of the most useful programs I’ve worked with.

Pros

I like how flexible Excel is. I can use it for simple things like budgets, or more advanced tasks like analyzing data with charts and formulas. It helps me organize information clearly, and I really like the automatic calculations and visual tools like conditional formatting and graphs.

Cons

Sometimes Excel feels a bit complicated when I try to use advanced formulas or features. It takes time to learn, and I wish it had easier tutorials or suggestions to help with that.

### "Microsoft Excel - Excellent to use"

March 8, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Microsoft Excel has been great. I have been using it for 15 years now and have never been more impressed by any tool. I have integrated it with SQL database to manage large database and analyze it and create reports for it.

Pros

Excel is the only tool capable of data storage and analysis which is as simpler as it can get. It is the easiest of tools that I have worked with. Probably the reason why it's still around for decades.

Cons

The thing I don't like about Microsoft Excel is that it cannot efficiently store and manage large datasets in itself. For that it has to depend on third party tools.

### "Easy to learn, easy to use"

June 22, 2025

5.0

Microsoft Excel has been a smooth-running program for me that was easy to learn and easy to use. Its range of features more than satisfies my spreadsheet needs!

Pros

Microsoft Excel is pretty much the standard in spreadsheets as far as I’ve experienced. It is very intuitive and easy to use. Utilizing their keyboard shortcuts gives an added element of ease.

Cons

I don’t like having to pay yearly for the program. I miss being able to purchase the software once and actually owning it rather than needing a subscription that will cost me thousands if I want to keep it for several years.

### "EXCEL review"

June 16, 2025

5.0

My overall experience has been great at excell but most of the time, learning excel ends up being an individual scholar work. I think most of the time help within excel is not that usefull. And because of excel is a complex software, help tips, and resources should improve a lot.

Pros

I consider excel to be the absolute best software for spreead sheet calculation. it is a well developed and mature software for an inmensive wide range of applications.

Cons

its hard for me to think in something that I dont like about excel, I have used it for calcultation since ever, and I have never thought to shange this software for other. The problem right now is that I know the new tendency is to update the most recent software to not be compatible with VBA code, this is a skill that nowadays is easier. But wonder how can excel, and microsoft can make easier the migration when VBA stops being usable in excel.

### "The spreadsheet tool which a marketing founder depends on the most than any other software in the stack."

April 28, 2026

4.0

Excel is at the back of nearly all my financial and performance reports. Templates accelerate the repetitive effort and the worthiness in our current Microsoft platform renders it difficult to substitute with anything lighter.

Pros

I have never found another tool that can build custom campaign trackers, budget models and client reporting sheets to the same degree of reliability and depth than this one.

Cons

Mobile experience is actually painful when I have to call a sheet between meetings with the clients. Navigation has been implemented on smaller screens as an afterthought and not designed to be used as a real use case.

### "Excel keeps my work and home life organized and efficient"

July 23, 2025

I use Excel, all day every day. I use it in my professional life as an accountant, but also in my personal life to plan trips, budgets, events and just my life in general.

Pros

As an accountant, I spend my days in Excel and I love that there is always more to learn and discover within the tool. Excel allows us to do any kind of work, whether it be calculations, trackers, or data analytics.

Cons

Sometimes it can be tricky to figure out what you need to do to get the result that you want. This is countered by the fact that Microsoft has fostered such a great online community and there are so many resources available to help.

### "Couldn’t live without it"

September 9, 2025

Excel is easy to use but also can get very in depth and complex depending on how you want to use it. It’s versatility is a huge plus

Pros

I use Excel literally every day. It’s essential to my job because it’s great for processing large amounts of data as well as visualizing and manipulating it.

Cons

My only issue with Excel is that once data connections are imported the files can get rather large and crash if too many are open.

### "MS Excel: Still a very useful too in today's world"

September 2, 2025

5.0

Overall, I find it easy and comfortable using Microsofr Excel especially when I'm dealing with huge number of information and I need to sort it out and arrange it. Overall, it's still a very useful software in today's world.

Pros

What I like the most about Microsoft Excel is it continues to be one of the most user friendly application software out there. Even though it is one of the oldest, it continues to adapt with time and still proves that it is still needed in today's time. With its many effective and useful functionalities and features such as the Math equations like SUM, AVERAGE, IFS AND COUNTIFS; the text and lookup functions like the Vlookup and Trim. As a person who have used a lot of Excel functions, I can say that it still helps a lot of my work today.

Cons

There is not much to dislike about this software, but if I can cite the ones who I consider needs to improve, it is the overall appearance and some functions that some new users and old users still don't know how to use. They could make the difficult functions more easier to use and figure out.

### "Complex for new users and a little intimidating"

October 15, 2025

5.0

Generally, I love Excel. I feel I only know the basics and there is so much more I could use it for and learn.

Pros

Love the basic functionality of Excel. I wish I knew more and it was easier to learn these features without starting from square one in a training. Accessibility is key in sharing Excel files. The ease of this transaction is great!

Cons

Basic functions are easy to use and learn. I have a hard time finding things I need or tutorials are not clear. Sometimes I need to search platforms for ways to create or fix something and It might take me four different search engines to finally find out how to do it.

Pros

Ease of use, abundance of features, compatibility with many software, able to access from different workstations and mobile
