### "The Best Spreadsheet Desktop Software"

November 18, 2019

5.0

Exceed expectations is an extraordinary program and I would prescribe it to anybody that desires to mechanize a portion of their day by day schedules or needs to break down huge arrangements of information consistently. It's additionally extraordinary apparatus for ROTA and timetable making which can generally be utilized in private life also. In general Excel is an incredible apparatus and I exceptionally prescribe it.

Pros

I've been so happy with Excel ! To such an extent that we investigated utilizing Quickbooks bookkeeping programming and understood our arrangement with Excel worked better for our business. Obviously I use Microsoft Excel for my business yet now I likewise use it to sort out my own existence with extraordinary achievement. I made a book with 16 pages that monitor various parts of my life. I'm a disease tolerant so obviously I have numerous medicinal issues to regulate. I have a page that tracks my arrangements, one that tracks every one of my PCPs' telephone numbers. I have a page for every one of my prescriptions and even a page that records my month to month strolling mileage. With Excel it's anything but difficult to make spreadsheets that can oversee pretty much anything you need. I've been utilizing Excel for over 10 years and I use it consistently. The recipes are anything but difficult to utilize; they pose you instinctive inquiries and afterward embed the appropriate response appropriately in the equation. I likewise appreciate colorizing the pages I make, and including my very own touch. I exceptionally suggest Microsoft Excel not similarly as a business application that is an approach to deal with as long as you can remember.

Cons

Microsoft Excel accomplishes such a great deal it can appear to be overpowering and threatening. The key is to simply utilize it for what you need, yet in the event that you do require a mind-boggling equation, Excel can do it. The program itself has a decent help menu and there is a lot of online assistance. There are sufficiently online gatherings and you can likewise contact Microsoft itself for answers. Exceed expectations Can likewise be somewhat expensive however on the off chance that you get it as a major aspect of Office 2019 or Office 365 it has substantially more worth. In the Office pack, other than Excel you get Word, Publisher, Outlook and with 365 you get distributed storage.

### "The most powerful spreadsheet software (yet simple by far, especially for large scale complex tasks"

August 1, 2018

5.0

The amount of work we handled could only be done by this software, we tried other alternatives and nothing worked, especially at the amazing speed of MS Excel. Many people have this software which makes it easy to share and collaborate. That is the reason why this software is the standard in industry.

Pros

It is extremely powerful, fast and reliable software for medium to large scale financial reporting. My personal experience with this software is a testimony of this statement. I have worked for years in (large scale) financial reporting, the position is called financial controller of car manufacturer which produces 500,000 cars per year. Our financial reporting software for the past 5 years has been MS Excel and to give you an idea of the scale, we use very large spreadsheets (100 sheets, with a couple of thousand used rows and hundreds of columns, linked to 30-40 files with a large VBA codes in them) we even had to migrate from .xlsm to .xlsb to speed up the process. We've integrated it with SAP (ERP software) and work flawlessly and fast, we have even developed our own MS Excel in house Add-ons. It is easy to track errors and formulas, you can combine Boolean conditions easily with the use of sum-product, lookup and indexing functions, it even has an optimisation solver embedded (simplex, non-linear and integer). The regression tools are at the level of specific data analysis software. But the best part of it is that many people have MS Excel installed in their computer which makes it extremely convenient and easy to share with anyone. I can only tell that by far is the best software (in general) I've ever used. I simply love it (as you can tell). Disclaimer: I've no longer work as a controller, I've moved to research and I still used it every day.

Cons

When you are moving the same file in different devices with different display resolutions, sometimes it gets a bit messy with graphs losing their proportions. Also a big drawback of some of their online and mobile device versions is that those are not very well integrated with "complex" VBA code.

### "There's a learning curve but..."

February 15, 2023

4.0

Pros

The toolbars are organized well and it makes putting "sheets" together a bit easier. If math is required or some type of organization, you need to simply put in formulas. There are templates for many things projects you may have and the formulas are already there. If you start from scratch, you get those formulas are in, then it's a cakewalk from there. I haven't had a single issue where the program stops responding or a file can't be opened which is a huge plus.

Cons

There's a learning curve for sure as you do need to know your way around if you don't have some type of base knowledge. Again, you can use templates but that can't always save you and you'll spend an eternity trying to get what you need done. The cool thing is you can find free files online using good ol' google for a project you want to complete where the formulas are done for you.

### "Analysis begins"

November 10, 2020

5.0

Best, better and growing at an wonderful levdl day by day. I recommend it to all analysts.

Pros

Calculations and formula interpretation is the major of excel. I worked a lot on data analysis and I used the formula feature frequently. I also like the tutorials and help section in excel. The most feature I like is the Pivot table because it is just an wide level of analysis in a single sheet. Just by putting rows and columns in appropriate way, I can generate a lot of things like revenue, profits, productivity, production data and much more. The Microsoft internal software networking within word, put and excel is too good. The dashboard creation of excel works for me and also speaks for me because it is doing a work of 10 people. I love it.

Cons

My cons are also on formula. I like to have a separate formula section in excel where we are able to see formula which we can used or which are applicable. This update can solve a lot of things automatically without using YouTube.

### "For everyday usage, go with Excel"

November 3, 2020

5.0

Excel has been fantastic to me since I first started using it as a student in middle school. Since then, I've slowly started developing my skills with it - functions, pivot tables, power query, macros, VBA - and it has paid off immensely for my career. Though I use other programming languages quite often, Excel compliments them quite well and knowing that 99% of the organizations use Excel, I know that it's a software worth investing in.

Pros

Any organization you work for will always be using Excel, which makes having Excel skills somewhat mandatory. The good part is that Excel is so easy to use and learn. I've been using Excel in a professional setting for over 5 years now and I'm always blown away by how much capabilities it has. I like that Excel has VBA, a programming language for Microsoft Office products because it allows me to automate and streamline so much of my work. Other than that, the customization, ability to handle files, and security makes Excel a fantastic software.

Cons

As with any software, there is a learning curve. With Excel, the more you use, the steeper the curve gets because you will learn just how much functions and capabilities it has to offer. This, however, is a good thing because once you get used to it, you'll become an "Excel wizard" and will always be in demand. If there is one flaw to Excel, its that you can't collaborate in real time (unless you use OneDrive). In a digital age where cloud-based solutions are popping, Excel might need to rethink about its customers (especially because most are still saving in local drives and not utilizing OneDrive). I selected that Excel is a mid-tier price because there are free alternatives like Google Sheets and LibreOffice. Not to mention, anything Excel can do, you can do on other programming languages at a higher efficiency rate (e.g. Python).

Cons

Excel est certes dans la moyenne des prix sur les logiciels de la même catégorie mais la période d'essai est globalement très courte

### "The daddy of spreadsheets "

September 12, 2021

4.0

Excel can be used for almost any purpose, from creating a shopping list, to running a warehouse, to flying a rocket to Mars. It is often used as a list or table making tool, but it’s real strengths lie in data processing.

Pros

Undoubtedly, if you need to get the job done, it can be done in excel. The power on tap is enormous. You can process enormous tables of data in a multitude of ways. Tools exist to connect to external data sources and almost every other system you will use has some form of excel integration. If you’re really stuck, there’s always VB macros as well, which can be created to do just about anything with data that you can imagine.

Cons

With all the power comes a lot of complexity. Also, Excel is not great if you want to present the data afterwards. The graphs are rather uninspiring and the formatting options for printed layouts are not the easiest or best looking you’ll come across.

### "Excel for Grade Calculation is a Breeze"

December 6, 2022

5.0

Excel saves me so much time while allowing me to calculate grades and find specific information quickly. Thank goodness for this software as it's been a lifesaver!

Pros

Excel is the easiest and most robust software of its kind. I have tried Google and Apple's versions and nothing has the capabilities as Excel when it comes to integrating with other software and creating intuitive formulas.

Cons

At times, given the formula, it can be difficult to create. I wish there was an easier cheat sheet to help in formulating these equations.

### "Excellent tool for data entry and spreadsheet management"

January 2, 2019

5.0

Excel is the quintessential spreadsheet and data processing software for all academic and professional applications. It's wealth of functions and capabilities makes it invaluable as a business and research tool.

Pros

There is virtually no limit to what Excel can be used for. One can make a simple list of action items for basic tasks, and then more experienced everyday users can create large spreadsheets to track company finances, experimental data, educational data, etc. Excel has a strong set of built-in functions to perform an array of mathematical functions. The formatting options in Excel also allows users to create their own "visual-program" for colleagues to use. This involves table formatting, inputs, conditional formatting, and filters, to name a few. The ability to trace dependents and precedents is also an extremely valuable tool when dealing with large amounts of data and complex formulas, and makes troubleshooting a lot easier!

Cons

The main drawback of Excel are the default graphing options. It is easy to spot an "Excel" graph, and professional reports typically avoid them. It would be great to see Microsoft update these default settings and provide better templates for plot creation. It would also be useful to incorporate spell check into Excel. Excel is not the most user-friendly program. It is an extremely powerful program, but requires at least a minimum amount of formal training to truly take advantage of its capabilities.

5.0

My job as a Marketing Assistant requires me to do a lot of work in Excel, I love how easy and convenient it is to used for my data analysis and all. I am still exploring and learning how things work in Excel but so far love every aspect of it.

Pros

I like how Excel makes things more convenient and easy for the user. Once you get the hang of the formulas and the proper use of it, its really really convenient and makes your work load faster.

Cons

I least like having to understand the list and functions of the formulas but I know its a needed thing and worth it at the end of the day.

### "Great program for creating dashboards"

June 20, 2023

5.0

Excellence program, I recommend it for the fact that it is a great program to manage data and that requires several unknowns to be combined in a single worksheet

Pros

Great program to make sophisticated spreadsheets, slender in the eyes of the beholder, and in a simple and practical way, attributing sophistication and without delimitations for the execution of tasks.

Cons

A single topic would be the "filter" in the spreadsheets, it could have more functions to perform cell filters in a spreadsheet.

Pros

I Likes the Microsoft Excel for its effective data organization, robust formulas and functions, powerful charting tools, versatile data analysis features, seamless integration with other Microsoft products, customization options, and the ability to automate tasks.

Cons

The things that I like least about Microsoft Excel include its steep learning curve, potential compatibility issues across versions or platforms, resource intensiveness with large datasets, limited collaboration features, and challenges related to versioning in collaborative work.

### "Excel saves your time"

November 29, 2019

5.0

I use Excel for 6 years. When I was an undergraduate, I used excel for all graphing and charting works for assignments and reports. I used excel frequently for my undergraduate research. I got all the raw data in a excel sheet and I did calculations in excel to get final results, and used excel to explain graphically. I used many types of charts and graphs to describe my results. If you know Excel very well, I mean if you mastered this software, you can run a company by your own!. As there are lot of operations and functions, you can save all the data in excel sheets and do the calculations in Excel. As a normal user, I only use these basic features of the spreadsheets in excel, there are lot more other specific functions such as giving programming support through Microsoft VBA, affording to access data from external source and offering extensive graphing and charting options.

Pros

Excel is very useful tool for researchers like me. It is the most user friendly spreadsheet I ever had. Because the values in the spreadsheet can be manipulated mathematically with the help of basic and number of complex arithmetic operations. Therefore, it is very helpful to you if you work with a lot of data and numbers. So you can save your time, if you master this software. There are very many advantages of this software. Ability to express the information graphically is one of most useful option to researchers like me. It is very important to explain your data in bar charts, pie charts, pivot charts, line graphs... etc. and it is easy to draw these graphs using excel.

Cons

It is time consuming to add data to excel manually, specially when i have a large number of data. When I use copy and paste or cut and paste options, it seems to be confusing me sometimes. When I try to undo, it won't help. Maybe it is my personal error, but it happens to me many times. The other thing is while I using different versions, sometimes I can't find some tools at the same place where it was in the previous version.

### "Simply cannot do without, although sometimes you would like to"

February 13, 2021

5.0

I use excel on a daily basis to process data or make quick analysis from extractions from sql for example. I love the flexibility it offers to ‘work’ with the data

Pros

Flexibility. Excel has something for every hser. From building simple overviews to massive data tables. From a simple calculation to complex calculations and basic analytics. It amazes me every year how much richer they make the solution in terms of features. The graphics are always improving and the addition of for example more predictive algorithms (although basic) is very nice. But still mostly I use it as a data tool for semi large lists and in-betweens between simple and SQL needs. When it comes to graphical reporting I prefer power BI or any other tool, although with effort, excel can do a lot!

Cons

Language/country setting of other users that differ from local settings can be a pain sometimes (dot vs comma in decimals or date notations for example) I also think that at some point the normal user can be overwhelmed with the sheer number of functions... and they are not all that easy to understand

### "Excel - What would I do without it?"

July 15, 2022

5.0

Great product - I use it everyday and there are still many functions within it that I am sure are just waiting for me to use them.

Pros

From basic spreadsheets to importing data from my ERP system, or using Excel to import data into my ERP, there is not a day goes by that I do not use this software. The use of Macros to create consistent results or using the ability via an ODBC connection to retrieve data is such a part of my work that I take them for granted.

Cons

I am not a big fan of the new always update feature as it tends to pop up while I am in the middle of doing things and if it hits at the wrong time, by hitting ENTER on my keyboard at the wrong time it will automatically launch the update right in the middle of things.

### "Microsoft Excel Review"

October 15, 2021

5.0

My overall experience with excel is very good. I've been using it for more than ten years now. I've already felt comfortable using it and I can't imagine myself doing reports and data management without it. Computation of grades, liquidation of funds, and consolidation of numerical data are just a few of the reports where Microsoft Excel has been very useful.

Pros

This software is perfect to use with reports that require a lot of computation and numerical data. It offers a variety of functions and formulas that you can use to compute easily. There are also a lot of tools that will enable you to sort data faster the way you want it to do. You can also create different kinds of graphs which allows you to provide a graphical presentation of your data.

Cons

It is not that easy to use. One should have an advanced level of technical knowledge before he can comfortably use the software. There are some functions and tools that automatically show, so if the user did not check it very well, errors might occur.

### "De-facto standard for spreadsheets, but too complex for everyday use"

March 20, 2019

5.0

I've been using spreadsheets since I started to use computer. I even remember Lots 1-2-3! When Excel came out, I liked it from the start. It was easy to use and provided lots of features. I used Excel for everything. I had my contacts in Excel, my financials in Excel, some calculation formula sheets in Excel. It was much easier to use Excel than to search for a specialized software because with Excel you can customize and calculate everything on the fly and there were lots and lots of things you can do, especially if you dug a little bit deeper, not just the basic functionality. However, time passed and I noticed that Excel grows only bigger in size and slower in performance, not adding too much new value. Also when internet came and I started to work from different locations, having files accessible online became a necessity. I tried online excel, but didn't like it much, a more light-weight solution like Google sheet suited me better. However, if you need all the power of the spreadsheet with lots of formulas and layout options, you'd definitely need excel.

Pros

\* De-facto standard for spreadsheets. \* Everybody knows what Excel is and how to use it. Easy to share info. \* Lots of tasks can be solved in Excel, no need for any special software.

Cons

\* It was becoming more and more robust and complex each year. While it is good that you have lots of features, you shouldn't overwhelm your users with them. \* It's not cheap, while there are free similar software packages, like OpenOffice \* Nowadays, when everything is online, it's easier to use a more simple solution, like Google Sheets. I know they have online office 365, but it's pretty complex.

### "The best spreadsheet"

December 1, 2021

5.0

Personally, it is the best option in terms of calculation when carrying out any accounting procedure, it is ideal when it comes to doing my accounting or just keeping track of a certain task. It is accurate and when you are familiar with it it is simple and fast. You can make simple plans and make movie catalogs for example. Thanks to its versatility it can be used in any subject and even create graphs or organize lists in alphabetical form and many other things. Thanks to its rows and columns I can create calculation formats for anything.

Pros

has the most complete organization and data analysis on the market. Works with most commercial applications. It can handle many data formulas without problem. It allows interconnecting several related sheets with a high response accuracy. Spreadsheets are created in no time. Plans are made and images are handled with ease and helps to carry the accounting successfully. It has good technical support.

Cons

it is somewhat difficult to understand and use. When entering formulas, you must know the system well, in the same way, if it throws an error, you must be familiar to be able to correct it. It is payment.

### "Couldn't live without Excel"

November 3, 2018

5.0

Pros

Excel is the greatest for both casual and advanced users. The functionality of Excel is beyond everything else out there. Being able to program macros, being able to do data analysis and create tables, being able to open it across platforms, these are all just the beginning of what makes Excel so great. When you get Excel, you get a name brand you can trust, a program that can export and talk to other programs, and something that can perform robust database management for anyone who needs simple database capabilities. My vendors have developed complex workbooks with multiple tabs within them and sent them to me as a dynamic tool I can use again and again. I tried I tried using Mac's and Google's free versions but they really don't make the grade. I finally subscribed to Excel and I'm so glad I did. It's definitely worth the money and I'm never turning back.

Cons

I don't like the ribbon, and I wish the versions across Web, Mac and Windows were more alike. I'm in the minority in my profession on a mac, and so not only is it hard to explain what to do when I'm the phone with someone looking at the file I just sent them on a PC, but it is burdensome to have to re-learn how to do everything when I switch operating systems, or figure out how to do something quickly when I'm using the cloud version at an airport or on the go. Just pick an interface and make it identical across platforms!

### "Complete and powerful "

March 26, 2019

5.0

In previous works as geographer, I must analyze multiple variables of different nature, even some of those data should give them some treatment to purify the data, by means of statistical formulas like the nearest neighbor, normalization of database, chi-squared distribution. With this tool you can do everything. I currently use Excel to keep my business accounts and make sales projections. I think it's simpler than using a software or application specially designed for.

Pros

It's the favorite spreadsheet, which I've used all my life since I was a high school student. It is a very complete and advanced software. What I like most is the ability to configure its functions, the miscellaneous library of applications that are constantly updated. It is so much what you can do with Excel, it is very diverse and dynamic. I love the graphic library and the possibility of personalized, even cross data and generate new indicators. The tool is very easy to install and I have never had problems that Excel stops working correctly or that an unexpected error occurs. In comparison with other worksheets, it is the most complete and with a clear design.

Cons

At the beginning it can be overwhelming, many of the functions that I have used, I have had to watch tutorials; as well as doing small courses to master them completely. Another aspect to take into account, is that the version for mobile devices, is not very simple to use. The interface is not very intuitive, I only recommend it to visualize data and simple operations.
