It’s the one tool I can’t live without for keeping my life in order, but man, it can be a nightmare when one tiny formula ruins your entire afternoon. It honestly feels like a superpower once you get the hang of it, but there are definitely days where I feel like I need a PhD just to get a simple chart looking right. Simple tables to complex formulae like pivots, lookups and what-if analysis, and charts make it very useful at work. I've tried Libre, OnlyOffice, the TextMaker brand, and they all fall short. If you're ready to pay - the product pays off. Pros Love the options, the functions, and how simple it is to use. I've used open-source knockoffs, and I've tried Google Sheets, but they don't come close to the level of customization and the power that you can rope in with Excel. There are numerous templates to accommodate any use, both professionally and personally, and the functions and design are thoughtful and intuitive. Nothing else on the market comes close. Cons Excel online is terrible. It's very hard to work with. If you like to work online, then it's not worth the splurge - it has a very Google-Sheets-like feel.
