Best used by those who have a detailed understanding about the company's data structure and all the internal databases. I.E internal staff and not external consultant. Pros Very powerful tool for business intelligence analysis & reporting. It took a lot of time to understand at first but once the fundamentals were in place and when stacked with MS PowerApps, Flow and MS CDS ..... the ability to drill-down to low level data from high level visuals ( charts ) was very impressive indeed. Cons As far as i know ( during 2017 ) Power BI and Power Apps are only for internal business use within intranet/SharePoint and therefore CDS/Power Apps cannot be a substitute for web front end SQL server databases. I may be wrong on that or external use might be possible on current version but high cost plus internal use only meant i had to look for alternatives. Reason for choosing Microsoft Power BI My customer already bought Power BI licences before i started the project hence I had no other alternatives. D'autre part, cela me servait aussi à avoir des KPIs et des agrégats facilement. Une fois les dashboards créés, il n'y a plus qu'à mettre les nouvelles datas dedans et tout roule ! It's the only solution I know for dynamic visuals. For example, when you select a certain city ... the sales, the charts, the product mix pie... etc. All changes to show you only the data from this city. Cons I still don't know how to use formulas and create new fields. that makes treporting capabilities very limited. Also, it's not user friendly at all to link power BI with the ERP system. Pros It's useful in visualizing very complicated data and multiple KPIs in a single dashboard. Cons A little bit difficult to learn. Pros What I liked the most about the software is the ease of dynamic analysis and data visualization that it is possible to create, allowing to map all sectors of the company and visually analyze its development and productivity. Cons What I liked least about the software is the initial difficulty in understanding the tools and utilities, I think it would be a good option to make available, for newly registered users, tutorial videos translated into several languages, explaining better the functioning of the tools and the dynamics of the software. Easily connects to a large number of systems, can combine data from different sources. A large number of built-in reports and dashboards, informative charts that give a visual representation of your data. You can drill down into your data, publish your reports online, pleased with the opportunity to cost reports offline, followed by their publication. Deep integration with MS Office. Cons Really it is very difficult to distinguish what the cons on the background of a very large number of advantages. The only thing you will have to spend the time and effort is of course learning without which I think can not do everywhere, no matter what product started studying. Dal punto di vista utente il programma lo trovo molto semplice, mentre se si vuole sviluppare sono richiesti ulteriori approfondimenti, su internet si trovano molti corsi per imparare in poco tempo. Il costo è un altro dei suoi punti di forza, è molto economico. I love all the features of Power BI, the best one being able to create reports with the software itself. Also, i like that it can be easily integrated with other Microsoft tools creating an ecosystem which is fast and safe. It is easy to use and the interface is also interactive. Creating dashboards using visualization results is very easy. Cons I love everything about Power BI. Although it can include more advanced tools like predictive models and forecasts like Azure ML.
