Pros This tool comes in handy for analyzing the data. We use it also as a database to track some info on our respondents for a more efficient respondents management (with such info as project ID, respondent status: qualified or terminated, etc.) Cons Nothing to mention here. It normally fulfills its purpose. It has all the necessary tools for storing and analyzing the data. After learning the flow of development and how to transform/model data, a real hands-on experience becomes easier to navigate. Power BI is also connected to the Office 365 suite, so sharing and automating reports is a breeze. Pros Of the well-known BI platforms, I think Power BI excels in connecting the user to an immersive experience through data modeling, transformation, and visualization within the Microsoft environment. Cons I think the learning curve for Power BI is steep, mostly because of the ability to utilize DAX and M-language well. There are built-in low-code/no-code alternatives, but to do some extraordinary visualizations, you must have some basic understanding of DAX. However the setup of these data tables can confuse new users if they did not attend a power BI training or are not familiar with the tools within power BI. What's nice about power BI too is that it can be integrated into other Microsoft programs so it becomes an all in one package. Pros I like to have power BI can take reports and transform it into a beautiful data table for the user end. It's a powerful tool that allows for information to be analyzed by users so that data-driven decisions can be made. Cons Because of its complexity, it is highly recommended you go through training in order to understand how to build reports within power BI. The user interface to create the reports can be quite confusing without the training so it is highly recommended to do so. Its versitile and consise and for the most part, it is accurate. Pros I like the functionality of PowerBI. If configured correctly, it can provide alot of insight for businesses, specifically call center data. It allows you to pull specifications of data so that you can omit whatever is not relevant to your needs. I also appreciate that it can export information of your choosing into other formats, such as Excel. Cons I do think that the aesthetics of PowerBI are a bit outdated. We ended up spending months back and forward with Microsoft when suddenly, based of their recommendation of deleting our data ingest and recreating, we lost everything. We couldn't retrieve our previous data ingest and constantly hit errors. Pros Unfortunately, not much. The only real positive element would be teams and general 365 integration. Learning it was very simple given some basic prior knowledge but more advanced knowledge is required to access the full extent of the application. Pros I love power query and the many options which are available for report customization. I really like how intuitive it all was for me especially merging complex data sets. The DAX code allows complex functions when processing data to divine advanced insights. Cons My least favourite thing about power bi is definitely the formatting options. In terms of making things the same size and auto aligning correctly it can sometimes be quite a hassle. I mostly go in for time off or checking someone’s info, and that part goes fine. Cons Sometimes I don’t really find fast what I need, or I click somewhere and it’s not where I expected to be. But in general, I think it’s a good tool and I don’t have many reasons to complain.
