It has a lot feature from Excel Pivot tables, with nice visualization possibilites. There are a lot of pre-build data connectors you can use out of the box. Cons In order to share the visualizations that you have created (reports and dashboards), you have to pay for a Power Bi Pro license for every member. Wide variety of data sources connection support like CSV, execl, sql, web, JSON etc. DAX measures creation gives a high level of flexibility in going data analysis, without need for changing the backend DB. Very impressive visual dashboards can be created using Power BI. Cons There should be an export function to convert the Power BI report into PowerPoint, currently on PDF option is available. Cons Some processes require a lot of setup, which can be cumbersome to do specially if the desired analysis is not automated. Pros As my experience as MIS Specialist in one of the most famous Fragrances Company in the Middle East, we see that in any company there's the accounting department that provide all reports and analytics that's demanded by other departments, according to that those guys have to do all there outcomes reports manually, and this process will cost time, efforts, stuffs,... for that one of great benefit from MS Power BI, is that he save me money, save me time, save me my the cost of wages for the accountants, my stuff in the accounting department is just about 5 great guys. All the mater is just I have to design the report and working on the Data Warehousing a little bit, then I can get my report in the target template that provide me all what I want, and furthermore, all reports up-to-date 7/24. Pros The ability to completely customise the look and feel of reports and dashboards, the product is updated on a regular basis and our end users are very happy with the results. Pros It not only has desktop based versions but has native apps for iOS, Android and Windows as well. A major plus point where our team is able to make use of Power BI on the go. As part of Microsoft suite of applications, it is able to easily extract data from a multitude of sources and very easily package them into a visually pleasant data report. Cons It does not have the ability to clean the data from the list of data sources we input. This has to be done outside of Power BI before it can be fed into the application for data visualization. Pros There are many things I like about Power BI, but what surprised me the most was its ease of use. For someone like me, new to data analysis, it was easy for me to learn how to use this software in a relatively short time and take advantage of the functions required. This, I believe, was due to its interface, which I found organized and very familiar, perhaps because it is a Microsoft application. Cons I don't have much to criticize this software for. Cons Its advanced features, like incremental refresh and DirectQuery which only works for specific sources(which are mostly Microsoft sources).
