Pros PBI is one of the best tools for Business Intelligence, given its ease of use, its cost (free, excluding PBI service), and its learning curve, which makes it very suitable for someone with no prior technical experience to use and navigate easily. Has a good and easy-to-understand UI and supports a lot of data input methods, practically every source possible, and the PBI service allows for automating a lot of reports as well. Cons The customizability of the charts isn't as rich as in Excel or Tableau, and you need to understand how to model the data if you're dealing with multiple datasets and build relationships between them accordingly. Pros Microsoft Power BI is the go-to tool in the data analysis industry when taking a step up from Microsoft Excel. It also requires a learning curve to understand the language of the platform and how it interacts with data sources. The user interface includes wizard to support with the configuration of data sources, building of dashboard gauges, and has familiar tools for granting access to reports built in the platform. The native Microsoft “feel” of Power BI, familiarity with the layout, and guidance tools make the platform intuitive to work with. There is heaps of support for the platform from online sources like guy in a cube, and Microsoft’s own learn environment. This includes routes to certification. Cons Power BI is great when analysing data sets and presenting information in digestible formats eg dashboards for management, insights for operational teams etc. It doesn’t have the power of true analysis tools like IBM SPSS, but the use of those types of tools require advanced analytical understanding and mathematical comprehension to make use of. The most frustrating part of Power BI is that seemingly simple things (like ordering a series in your preferred order) is less intuitive than one may prefer. Often data sets have to be supplemented with additional data to present incineration in the way it is desired, and this can lead to work in Power BI taking longer than you may expect initially. Spread sheets are good, but more options should be addedd so that it is easier to use more power bi than spread sheets. Pros Power BI is an easy way to sumarize information, specially from excel files into more good liking graphs. Graphs are easily filter and deploy in a faster way than excel. So, it is a good complement to the spreadsheet file. Cons I would like to have better options built in Power bi to automate report generation. Some of the information I need to get is loaded into Power bi files, but there is no an easy way to autome the graph generation, so I need to manually load each graph I want to include in my reports, I think its needed a way to always get same graph for a report based on previous selected items on the filters or a way to enhance report generation. I know that it is technically easy to look up for that information but in a large organization not all people have access to the same power bi files, so I need to manually screen throuhg and take snaps. It's a very powerful tool that has helped me a lot with my work. You just need to be ready to spend some time learning how it works at first. Once you get the hang of it, it's very useful for data analysis. Pros I liked that Power BI is a strong tool for looking at and showing data. It is very good at making charts and graphs from a lot of information. This helps my team and I see our data clearly and share it easily with others in the company. The program is great for making dashboards that shows us all what we want and insights Cons The hardest part was learning how to use it at the beginning. It took a while to understand how to get my data into the program and how to change the way things looked. It would be helpful to have better training materials or tutorials. Power BI is also connected to the Office 365 suite, so sharing and automating reports is a breeze. Pros Of the well-known BI platforms, I think Power BI excels in connecting the user to an immersive experience through data modeling, transformation, and visualization within the Microsoft environment. Cons I think the learning curve for Power BI is steep, mostly because of the ability to utilize DAX and M-language well. There are built-in low-code/no-code alternatives, but to do some extraordinary visualizations, you must have some basic understanding of DAX.
