It has been developed and evolved based on business users needs, experience and feedback. It adds the control layer usually missing in most document management software to ensure effective project document control: - document lifecycle tracking, highly configurable - configurable milestones gates with associated progress %, planned/forecast/actual dates - allows progress tracking and measurement, with some automation options based on selected events (workflows, transmissions...) - electronic review and approval workflows, with due dates, reminders, various options for commenting, comment sheet generation if needed, review compilation and review codes - transmittal module, very configurable, with good tracking of pending replies - possibility to manage full project portfolio once the system is implemented, without going back to the vendor - relying on SharePoint environment, each project environment can be easily enhanced to become a project portal by adding some more standard SharePoint components - Possible to add a full correspondence management module with actions tracking Cons Relying on SharePoint has pros and cons. Pros Desired Feature - Parallel Review and allow to integrate with IFS. Cons Not ease to use. E.g Distribution Matrix , launch workflow and general reporting only with the raw data . Document Control Manager Oil & Energy Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Simplicity" July 6, 2019 4.0 With the other Giants in the market, PULZ provides simplicity and it carries the fundamentals of SharePoint with it. With proper tech support and corresponding with the rightly configured hardware, it would the simplest DM solution in the market. However, Engineering data management to complement proper PLM still lacks and PULZ could holistically look into this as future enhancements. As far as a DM solution which covers a PDCA cycle, PULZ conforms to the requirement quite well. Pros It is SharePoint based, hence the GUIs are extremely familiar with relation to other Microsoft Products which keeps the standard features extremely user friendly. Cons While PULZ is a customized SharePoint platform, the lags and limitations are still there but can be improved as it progresses. Again, it's not the system but the processes. Limit the customization and increase user efficiency. Product improvement is a collective effort. Reason for choosing PULZ Document Control System Simplicity, User friendly GUIs and ease of deployment are the 3 main criteria. Review Source MD Maurits D. Since I haven't been able to use all options in the system yet, I cannot give feedback about that. But with excelent help of the Pulz Support team, we were able to get the documents into Pulz quickly. Pros Completing review tasks is very easy, since multiple reviewers can review simultaneously Cons Getting suppliers to correctly upload the documents into Pulz Review Source Gary L. Software functionality for SharePoint is there but does not utilise integration with other Office365 modules. Example, utilizing PowerBI to provide document status dashboard Pros Rarely have downtime. The software serve the purpose for going through document review and approval process Cons Need to have better design of user interface to ease access to relevant document. Every option necessary on major engineering project are available and easy to configure. Pros It is the easiest Doc Control system i have used in the last 10 years, really intuitive and complete. Cons Maybe a small improvement to select several documents to send with a transmittal would be useful.
