Pros: I like it's ease of use the most. It's effortless to use - link each side of the ZEI with a category in the software. I have tried software timers, time trackers on my phone. Each and every one I stop using within days - usually within hours. It just requires too much keeping in mind that I have a tracker running, switch to the application or open my phone, and change it. With the ZEI, I just have to reach over and change facings. And since the ZEI hardware sits on my desk in front of my monitor, I don't forget to do it.

In the PC version, the software is very responsive to when I change from one side to another. It's also very easy to just type a couple of words of description into each recorded block to let myself know what I was doing during that time.

I find another useful feature is that, while you can only assign one category to a face, you can have many more categories than faces. I use it to track, for example, how much time is spent on different projects. I have one face for 'Project' which I use to track the time block. In the software, after I finished tracking that block, I will change the category from 'Project' to "Specific Project A' or whatever. It's very quick and simple to do, requiring near zero effort on my part.

Cons: The app versions - at least running on my phone and tablet - aren't very responsive. It would take several seconds for the app to respond when I change faces or when I wanted to add a note to an entry. I haven't used the app on either for a while now, so that might have been improved since then.

Overall: Although I use it primarily for tracking how much time I spend doing things at work (including NOT doing work), it's only for my own personal information. It started when I was asking myself just what I spent my time at work doing. I wanted to know, even in broad terms, just how long was I *really* spending trying to read papers and documentation, how much I was actively working on projects, and - let's face it - how much time I wasted on email, Facebook, etc.

Speaking of wasting time, just the mere presence of the ZEI sitting on the desk in front of me has made me more mindful of just how much time I spend on email and (especially!!) the black hole/time suck of YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, and the rest of those. Instead of just opening a new browser tab to, say, check news feeds "for just a minute" - meaning those special minutes that last hours - now I have the little external reminder of the ZEI to give me that little extra pause and reconsider. While I might still spend an hour or more when I do get sucked down one of those black holes, now I don't go there as often. That alone has helped me regain some time and focus.

Pros: The basic fundament of it is great. The ZEI caught my eye 2 years ago when it was still in development, and the design of the octahedron tracking current activity seemed great. When it is working, I really enjoy the ability to track all the tasks I engage in daily to better estimate time use, and take notes for different things. My position at my small company involves wearing many hats, and tracking which hat I am wearing for how long is very useful. I do not even use the time card export feature set - the primary purpose of ZEI and Timeular - and I still find some benefit.

Cons: Feature request: the ZEI should have a lithium ion battery and USB charging, with rotation-triggered connection after standing it on a corner in the stand puts it to sleep. In my opinion, the device should not need a button press to turn it on once it has been connected - my biggest qualms with the physical device are that it intermittently needs to be reconnected. If the device fails to connect on a turn, a simple beep from the device would probably be the best feature to reduce pain level at intermittent connectivity - an inherent problem with Bluetooth devices.

For Timeular itself: with my use for complex task management, the interface is a little restrictive. I find that 8 activities alone are insufficient, and I have to manually adjust many activities to a different type. Feature request: I would really enjoy the option to set 8 *types* of activities, and every time I flip the device I am prompted to sub-select a specific task. The notifications through Windows 10 are sufficient to mediate these prompts. For example, "Meetings" as a type, with sub-types for each team I might meet with. Perhaps this is met by allowing an activity to be set as an "activity class", and if the prompt is not answered then the unspecified activity class remains for later review. Also, a prompt for entering notes upon a flip would be equally sweet. Even sweeter would be a "default notes entry" for each activity or activity class that pre-writes some of the notes field for me.

Overall: I use it mainly for tracking progress on projects and time fractions spent doing various tasks, and NOT for the time-tracking capability that is central to the design of the product. I enjoy recording notes about what I do throughout the day, and I enjoy understanding better how long it takes me to do some tasks to enhance my work time estimation skills. The device also serves as a constant reminder of what I am doing, and I have acquired a keen habit of looking at it to remember what I was just doing, or to remember what I must do next.

Ultimately, though, ZEI and Timeular don't do enough of what I want them to do.

By updating the ZEI to use USB-recharged Li-Ion batteries, passive electronics and a connectivity failure sound from the device, the ZEI itself would be very future-proof as a platform.

By including more usability and hierarchy in activities and notes features would be the biggest benefit to my user experience. I leverage the activity tracking strictly to understand my time use better and to stay on task. Timeular does some of this but not enough. Please see my "Cons:" section for a few feature request details. I hope they are helpful, I would very highly recommend the product with these software-only feature updates!

Multi-colored markers would be cool, too, or perhaps a smooth plastic material that permits permanent ink to be erased with a solvent wipe without damage.

Overall decent time-keeping tool for freelancers (and a good conversation-starter)!

Pros: While the title of my review is specifically about Timeular's ZEI tool, I will make these comments about both that device and their time-tracking software in general.

For starters, the ZEI is a very easy-to-use time-tracker. The fact that it's a physical object sitting there on the desk also makes for an easier time remembering to start and stop tracking the time I spend working.

It's software is good, but not great. It's UI is fairly straightforward and easy enough to navigate. I also like that it's a desktop app, as opposed to something that has to be accessed via a web portal. Compared to other leading time-tracking company's desktop apps that I've tried, this one works better and provides more control options. I also appreciate the integrations with other software and would LOVE to see more added in the future.

Cons: My biggest problem with the Timeular software is that it still feels very tethered or limited by the ZEI device's 8-sided physicality. I get that the ZEI is the right hand and that the software was probably originally designed to be the left hand, however, it seems to me that Timeular's end game is to scale beyond that.

A few thoughts/criticisms for how to improve:

- The ZEI has 8 sides. Make it easier in the software to assign those sides to be more general "families" or "genres" of work, and then offer the ability for an unlimited # of projects to start, live, and be completed/archived within those families . This way, I'm not constantly having to reassign sides of the ZEI to correspond with a new client or project.

- Give me the ability to log time by day without needing to assign a working session starting and ending times to the minute. In other words, I write down in my paper journal while on the road that I worked 2.5 hours last Thursday, 9/27. I want the ability to be able to go click on last Thursday and quickly type in that I worked 2.5 hours. Doesn't matter WHEN I worked those 2.5 hours in that 24-hour day to my client. They get billed all the same and don't ask when, throughout my days, I'm logging time. I've never really understood why the timestamps are so important. Maybe that information is more important in the corporate world where employees are only "supposed" to be working during certain hours. However, ask any freelancer if that matters. J

Overall: All in all, Timeular HAS greatly improved my consistency with keeping track of where my time is going. I used to be really bad about logging working time, and adding Timeular to the arsenal has greatly improved time/work documentation.

Pros: Timeular has streamlined my time-sheet processes immensely and made visualizing my time-management (or, some weeks, lack thereof) a breeze.

Cons: Sometimes the app is a little slow and clunky, especially for editing/deleting entries (such as when my cube/D8 rolls around in my bag between client sites and logs a bunch of 1-2 minute nonsense entries I would like to be able to mass-delete, but I have to load and delete each one individually, and sometimes it misses a cube-switch and I end up with comically long time logs, my personal record being 43 hours when it missed being turned off before a weekend...). Also (not re:the software, but the physical cube itself), as someone with a fine-motor disability, the on-off switch mechanism is physically challenging to use, so it doesn't end up turning off reliably when I'm not using it even if I try to hit and squeeze the on-off button. But every app update does seem to make it a little smoother each time, so keep it up, hardworking coding team! <3

Overall: I consult with schools, helping them "gamify" their curricula, and I bill each school by the hour. Instead of spending 1-2 additional hours a week creating, updating, and extracting each client school's time sheet, it takes me 15 minutes to double-check for extraneous/mis-attributed entries and pull together Excel sheets for my overall billable hours and for each client's weekly hours, down to the minute! I can accurately log my creative-brained-tendency to switch rapidly between tasks and am far more confident that I'm not accidentally over- or under-estimating any time spent on a project when I get distracted or In The Flow. I get so many questions and compliments on my "Work D8" as my spouse, clients, and I affectionately refer to it, and I tend to evangelize for my Timeular device and app without even realizing I've slipped into Timeular-PR mode! ;) Thank you SO MUCH for this invention, and I look forward to all the functionality tweaks and updates you geniuses come up with next.

Pros: Timuelar is really easy to use. Interface is clean and there is no confusion about how it works.

Time entries are easy to edit. You can create your own types of projects and colour-code them (many colours to choose from). There is even a place to add additional notes.

You have a status report anytime you need it and an additional report at the end of the week of time spent on projects.

Uploads easy to Excel for tax purposes (if necessary in your area/country) and is super readable.

Right now I'm using the free version of the software and I can't say enough about it. I've tested multiple leading time-tracking software and this is by far the best experience so far.

Cons: I wish there was a Pomodoro timer function; set for 25 min (or whatever you set it to). This is what I find lacking (and very handy), but perhaps this is with the Zei/paid version? I don't know.

I also wish there was an automatic stop after x-amount of time if I forget to turn off the timer. I want to say this was covered in the last update, but have not seen evidence of this. It's always a surprise to turn on the computer in the morning to see my work on Social Media has been going on for 12 hrs :D

Overall: Minimal to no need to interact with Support as everything is pretty clear. I believe the one time I did contact Support (before some major updates), my request was dealt with quickly and professionally, and with a wonderful friendly tone over the email!

It really makes it easy to keep track of time with both computer and phone app. If I forget to turn off my timing on the computer, I can do it on my phone at a later time (and/or edit it, of course). It makes me wish I had the Zei. My focus is not spent on spending a lot of time organizing timing of project management, and I love that.

Pros: I really like the desktop app that times your work in segments that can be edited or comments added very easily. I'm required to post all my time on various projects and admin work into Financial Force for time-tracking and invoicing of customers. At the end of the day I can make minor corrections then know that on Friday I'll have summaries available for entry into the external billing software (Financial Force).

Cons: I like the concept of the plastic device that can be places with particular projects or customer names facing up. When it works, it works great. However I'm still having problems with it getting disconnected throughout the day with no warning. I think it is tracking time and it is not. So I'm pretty much using the desktop app exclusively until I have time to update my software and try the plastic device again.

Similarly, I find that even the desktop app will stop tracking for no reason. I've gotten into the habit of minimizing it on my desktop (as opposed to letting it run in an open window that may be buried under other windows) and that seems more reliable. Maybe we need an optional "lock" function that will keep the app safe while it is running, with a 3-digit code to unlock it.

Overall: I'm required to post all my time on various projects and admin work into Financial Force for time-tracking and invoicing of customers. The desktop app allows exporting if needed but more useful is how I can use the app to easily key in daily hours for given projects, even when the time is split into separate chunks throughout the day.

Pros: I LOVE my Timeular. First, I can customize each side to my activities - calls, research, emails - even specific projects. This is great because I can identify actual parts of my workflow and intentionally focus on them because they have their own side on the tracker. When projects change, it is so easy to reassign sides to relevant tasks and areas. I also like that I can go back into the app and add/ change hours if I've forgotten to turn my Timeular over, or have left it on a side for longer than I actually worked on something. I also like that if it's been on a side for too long, it recognizes that I might have moved on and asks on my desktop if it should stop tracking. It's a very smart little thing.

Cons: Not sure what the productivity level on the desktop app actually means - I've read the help article about it, but I'm not really sure how it works. I don't know how my productivity can decrease if I'm using every minute of my time to do something? The figure itself seems arbitrary, but kind of bugs me as I don't like feeling that I've worked hard all day to find that a device thinks I'm not as efficient as I do. Would like to better understand this and the implications it has for how I work currently and should work moving forward. Also wish there was a straightforward way to add sub-tags to different projects. IE working on project X, but specifically, aspect A instead of aspect B.

Overall: When I was first told that my organization would need to track hours worked on each project, I was very wary and immediately started planning how I could get around it. I figured I would just make up some hours and estimate. But when I was introduced to timeular by a coworker, was amazed that it functioned beyond just tracking time for reporting purposes, but it gave me an awareness as to how I was using my time versus how I wanted to be using my time. It's helped me take a great step forward in being intentional about how I use my time at work and has redefined my conception of productivity.

Pros: The timeular software has a dashboard interface that is intuitive, easy to use, and integrates well with my mac. I appreciate how there is a place for notes for each time entry, that time can be edited after the fact, and that there is a way to export and sort my time based on category (and even by note).

Cons: It takes up a lot of active RAM memory, which noticeably slowed down actual computer usage on the macbook air. I had to upgrade my computer with our IT department so that it would run OK. Sometimes, the bluetooth does not respond when I try to turn it on; sometimes the bluetooth is not as responsive and will connect/disconnect based on how far away I was from my dice, which would stop recording time if the dice was not active (or if I remotely changed a category). I work in the agency space, and have more than 8 clients (categories), so an option for a bigger dice (20 sided?) would be way more useful to me. I've essentially stopped using the dice because I can use the app with my pro plan to add more than 8 categories. I wish there were more color options for the categories!

Overall: The main business problem that Timeular is successfully solving for me is that I bill on a time/materials basis, and Timeular accurately tracks my time base on category without me having to use a more manual system to do that. I also shows me full history of how I'm using my time, which is really informative for my habits. I've become easily more productive since using Timeular vs before that, and just have so much more information about some of the intangible details about my clients so that I can serve them better and manage my time better.

Pros: Simple interface that is easy to understand and use. The updates have made things way better, it used to disconnect all the time and now it's working great. I like that I can also make changes to my data or start/stop tracking activities from my phone. Just the same it's easy to modify your data on the desktop application and track activities that you may not have assigned to a side.

Cons: Wish there were more colors to choose when creating the different activities. Wouldn't mind have more sides to the dice, even if it meant that it had to be a bit bigger.

Overall: I need to log what I do at work at the end of the day. This helps me track all that I do and I don't have to add up the hours at the end of the day. If I go from responding to email to a meeting then back to email, it calculates all the time for each activity and makes life easier. Before I was using paper and soft of keeping track of my time and at the end of the day estimating my time. Now I can give precise times and easily look back at my history to see what I have been doing and for how long. This is a great product for keeping track of this kind of stuff. They have other apps that you can use, but being able to turn a physical object makes it so much better.

Pros: When everything is working and I'm integrated with Jira, I really get a sense for how much time I was spending on different activities. As someone who recently changed roles, I wasn't sure how effective I was in my previous role compared to the new role. How am I spending my time now? How has this changed over time? Do I feel I'm being effective in my use of time? The reporting features provide an insight to the answers to those questions.

Having 8 different tasks available using the 8-sided die for the common stuff, and also having options to have additional task types in the software is a great idea. I don't feel restricted.

Cons: 2 things:

1) Connection issues using the 8-sided die for tracking what task I'm working on. I leave it at my desk while I take my laptop and move between conference rooms or pair with others in my office. It will loose connection as expected, but sometimes it doesn't re-connect when I get back to my desk. So then when I start my next day, I find that I have to manually enter what 2/3rds of my previous day looks like.

2) Guidance on what kinds of things I should track. This is still something I'm constantly tweaking. Do I only track work time, or should I also be handling personal time use as well? Should I track my lunch break or should that be left open? Should 1 on 1 meetings with my reports all be lumped into a generic meeting task, or should I separate that as something separate. What about preparing for meetings? I realize this is all highly subjective, but any guidance would be helpful.

Overall: The key purpose for using Timeular was to help reduce my task-switching/multi-tasking habit. On that regard it has helped. Next is to actually make my time use more effective.

Pros: Timeular tracks time spent on each of my clients-even more than I have on the sides of the device-as well as enables me to describe exactly what project or task I'm working on for that client. It enables me to see how much time I'm working every day and every week. Timeular sends me a detailed report at the end of each week to let me know stats about my work habits. It reminds me to take a break when I've been working for a certain amount of time. It is all around fabulous! In addition, the support team is super helpful and quick to respond. And when the software has an update, the descriptions of what has changed are very humorous and a joy to read. (Something I never thought I would say about any software update!)

Cons: My only complaint is that there is occasional issues with connecting the device via Bluetooth. I keep a set of tweezers in my drawer to remove the battery and reset it, which usually works. That would be my only complaint.

Overall: Timeular has helped me in more ways than I could possibly express. Previously, I was guesstimating how much time I spent on things, but with Timeular, I can see the actual numbers. It has made me better at quoting prices based on actual time. And it helps me to explain to clients where I'm spending the most time on their projects. Timeular is such a fantastic device; I truly don't know what I did before, and I could not work without it now.

Pros: -makes it fast and easy to switch between tasks

-physical object for task-switching is superior to any software interface

-data persistence across devices makes it easy to access time records and track time even when I'm away from my computer

Cons: -insufficient instructions provided to get up-and-running with the software; I had to use some trial and error at first

-would be nice to be able to fine-tune the settings a bit, such as being able to customize the minimum time recorded (currently set at 1 minute)

Overall: As an attorney, I have to carefully track and record the time I spend working on client matters. If I overestimate my time, the client is overcharged (and will get rightfully annoyed); if I underestimate my time, my firm loses money and I lose credit. However, as a startup attorney I may work on 6-10 clients in an average day with rapid switching between them. All of this is to say that time tracking is both incredibly important to me job, and incredibly painful.

I've tried our firm's time-tracking timers, but having another window I have to attend to among the dozens of open documents on my computer is a headache. I've tried writing my time in notebooks, but it's easy to lose track of my notes. Ultimately I always ended up spending a full day at the end of each month trying to rebuild lost time from emails (which likely resulted in underreporting my time).

Timeular has revolutionized my time-tracking efforts. Using a physical object to change tasks removes the "yet another window" problem-and I almost never forget to switch because it's always right there on my desk. But the software itself keeps track of the time, and the data is persistent across devices (including my phone), so I have easy access to a clean record of my time to reference when I'm logging my time entries on my firm's time entry system.

Time entry has gone from being the most dreaded and unpleasant part of my job, to something I no longer think about. It's been amazing.

Pros: Timeular is a fun little device that makes it very easy to track my time on multiple projects, as well as the time I spend on each step I need to complete within each project. It has also made me more aware of how much time can be lost browsing social media feeds, and how many un-billable hours I have spent on administrative duties.

Cons: The user interface allows for the addition of several projects and tasks that can become unwieldy after a year using this device and wrapping up close to 100 projects; there is no way to delete completed project names or rename them to reduce the bulk, but it is intuitive and a few keystrokes usually pulls up what you need.

Overall: I have labeled each side of my device to represent the key clients I work with throughout the year, and left a few sides open for administration, to track time sinks, and for marketing/ideation. I use the software to track each client's projects (using the @ symbol and a project name) and the # to tag tasks like #research, #transcripts, and #reportwriting that are common across the different projects I take on. Timeular gives me a full breakdown of the time involved at each step, which has helped me with more accurate costing, improving productivity, and planning deadlines.

Pros: I love the goal Timeular aims at: to track, understand and improve how you work. The package and the pricing (software for free with certain limitations and the ZEI hardware for a one time fee, subscription for an annual fee) is very good, easy to understand and flexible to individuals' needs.

All of the tools are extremely intuitive and are working well. The software product, the hardware's material design and the way the company operates is very professional, for instance you can see on their website the roadmap and recently released features.

Cons: There is nothing I did not like per se, but some things can be improved. I would highly appreciate a drag-to-change feature in the list view of the Timeular apps to change the start/end times of the entries I have recorded. It would be a nice touch in the UI and would save lots of time when I am correcting entries in the list.

Another addition which would be great is to extend the weekly reports with some sort of "comparison" to previously recorded data. For instance, if I have tracked X percent/amount more time with one of my activities, it would be great if the system would tell me about it in the reports. The data visualization in general could be made more informative similar ways.

Overall: Timeular helped me to quantify the amount of time I spend with certain activities during my workday. In the past I could only guess on how much of my time is spent with development, debugging, meetings or other activities, but now I can tell these numbers not only from my gut. Having this data at hand helps me to estimate upcoming tasks better and manage my time at work more efficiently.

Pros: Having a tactile "toy" on my desk makes me much more likely to actually track my activity. It's also easy to add in time segments by hand (though I rarely do). The ability to tag tasks/people/projects is a really flexible tool that I love and should avail myself of more.

Cons: I wish the data download was a little more user-friendly. I've been creating my own spreadsheets and formulas to gain additional insights on how my time is used based on the raw data download, but it's not nearly as pretty as what Timeular generates (but I wanted to do a deeper dive before and after a certain project started). Also, it would be cool if it would sense when it has simply been left tipped over overnight on accident. It's now a lot easier to fix, but still.

Overall: As an employee who works on a multitude of projects across platforms, that has been a valuable tool to show how my time is divided between my online responsibilities and in-print responsibilities. Since I'm moving soon, it's been very helpful in showing my employers what exactly it is that I do, and how my tasks trend from week to week. I'm excited to keep using my tracker but as a freelancer.

Love the product, as a POC its solid to improve individual performance.

Pros: The software on android is fine. It could use some color to draw attention to things since most of the time you open it and the they is a thick grey on white wall. some times the bluetooth goes wonky and you have to fiddle with it for a minute of reboot it, or reboot the phone, but it is a solid quality product.

Cons: The calendar from the android app when you open it should query your current time and move to that, not pull 12AM. The only reason from a phone you would open the calendar view is to make an adjustment so lets move it to go pull up current time.

On the Pie Chart, selecting date ranges feels clunky because it looks like you can slide a range, but the UI can not handle that. Just click twice to get the date ranges works fine but the color pallet makes it appear you should be able to drag a range.

Overall: The product shipped quickly, it is accurate as I am and sitting on the desk in front of the mouse makes it non intrusive enough to be fairly reliable. The reporting functions on pro could use a few more tweaks I feel and the android app can use some minor UI adjustments but the product is great. I use it as a software engineer to help record time, and improve focus. I took empirical data back to my team members and was able to re-arrange things so I spent more time working on what makes us money.

Mandating use of this product is bad micro-management practices, but having the option to use the product is a way to take your high performance individuals to the next level. I don't write reviews for products that are OK, or products that didn't return a high value. Timeular was worth my personal money to improve my work time. No purchasable item, short of better keyboards or monitors, has the value of making work better.

Pros: It's intuitive and beautiful - Kudos to your UI designer. I can get access easily to all the things I want to know about; device connectivity, current working time, total working time - ect.

Cons: I feel like Timeular could still do more to help users into better habits. For instance, I noticed that when I start my day sometimes timeular will notify me to use my device - this is awesome. Unfortunately I often leave my desk at the end of the day forgetting to turn my timeular device back over... I think the software should allow me to define working times and maybe also define a notification time limit that will maybe notify me through my phone that I might have allowed my device to runaway on me. If I tell the software 'yes' it is a runaway - end the task at the time I listed as the end of my workday. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

I think the other area Timeular falls short is in the integrations stage. The UI controls are clunky in the web portal and not well explained. Also the tutorials for setup live outside the integration setup process... Why? Why not use the tutorial to make the setup process more intuitive?

Overall: Great! Helpful staff. Great Product - thanks for helping me track my work.

Pros: I love the physical representation of what I'm supposed to be working on as a constant reminder on my desk. This helps me either stay on task or forces me to admit that I've jumped to another project that should be tracked separately. The reports you can pull are also extremely helpful when I have to fill out my official time sheet at work.

Cons: I would love a 1-week overview broken down by day. Since my office won't let me directly integrate with our time reporting software, I'd love to see Sunday - Saturday with the time categories of each day all in one screen (this would make it much easier to add my time into our timesheet). I can still get this data one day at a time, it just isn't as convenient.

Overall: Timeular has made time tracking a breeze! I am far more accurate with my time reports (no more guessing based on calendar notes), my time reporting takes far less of my time each week (literally just transposing numbers, rather than trying to remember what I did with all my time), and it also helps me stay on task or be intentional about what I am switching to.

Pros: I use Timeluar to track the time I spend on work projects. I am currently juggling 7 clients and 8 projects. I used to use my outlook calendar to block off project time but found I was losing track of the misc time I send on projects. Having the ability to quickly start and stop time tracking with Timeular has helped me accurately capture my time. It also makes reporting much easier. it used to take me more than twice as much time to review my calendar and remember the misc time. But now I use the statistics page to quickly record my time to our internal time tracking tool.

Cons: There are two items I would like to see changed. If I preload meetings to timeular for the day in timeular and then start the timer and forget to stop it when my pre-logged entry starts when I end the timer timeular overwrites the original entry. It would be great if there was a warning to tell me I am about to overwrite an entry. Also, it would be great to have spell check for the notes section.

Overall: I have been able to reduce the time needed to report my project time which has allowed me to spend more time working on project tasks vs. administration

Pros: The best part about the software is the device. I have tried a variety of time-logging apps but having the octahedron on my desk that I can flip to various activities is super helpful for me. The software is mostly intuitive and customer service on using the app and the device has been phenomenal. I run Timeular on my laptop and my phone, so I can track activities even when I am away from my desk I can click and keep track of how I spend my time.

Cons: There are occasional glitches where the time to log the last activity is not instantaneous, and that causes me to manually enter an activity that then overwrites the correct one that tries to add later. The device didn't link after using it for several months, but with customer service help I was able to find out that the battery was dead. Replacing it was easy, but I wish the app could tell me that the device battery was low.

Overall: I bought this device to keep track of my time to try to be more efficient. It is helping me do less multitasking and stay on target more. It has revealed some patterns of my work that I thought were true but it is nice to have data to back it up. I really like this app and device.

Pros: The ease in switching projects. I like being able to either use the cube or the software to track time. It's easy to make correction also

Cons: I constantly have issues with the device not being connected. If I have to un-dock my laptop and walk away, even if I have shut down the software it won't reconnect when I re-dock. I have wasted a lot of time trying to reconnect the device. Many times I have to take the battery out and put it back in for the device to be recognized. Otherwise I have to reboot my laptop. I have stopped using it recently as it does not have enough sides for all my projects. I tried doubling up but it became too confusing. It's easier to use a pad then to keep adjusting what was tracked.

Overall: Overall I like the device. When I only had 8 projects it was great. (when it stayed connected) I loved it.

Pros: Timeular is a very easy to use, fit for purpose, simple time tracking tool. I use it to track billable hours and it makes doing timesheets significantly less painful.

For the most part, I just use the software independent of the Zei peripheral. The main reason for this is that it doesn't work dongle free on my work PC

Cons: The mobile app used to be quite slow and suffered from lag. At around the same time as their last software update, I also upgraded my phone and it is currently running very well on the iPhone Xs.

I would like to see more detailed reporting to support doing timesheets. At the moment I export a CSV and import that into a spreadsheet, which cuts the data the way I need it.

Overall: Overall, it's helped me be more cognisant of my time and how I use it at work. Has it made me a productivity machine? Probably not, but it does help set you up for success.

I can easily imagine that future generations of the Zei and the software will make Timeular an even more useful productivity tool.

Pros: Ease of use

It was not easy to use before, small inconvenient here and there.

Now it's GREAT.

Cons: Lack of data analysis provided and the UI sucked - to gather data is one thing, but to comb through data and give them meaningful explanations is another.

Overall: Your mail weekly review is a good change in direction.

People want their life quantified, but they won't know what they really need/want until their data is analyzed and shown - literally what the mail has done.

By doing more persona research/questionnaire, I think you can find more way to help your user control - or rather has a illusion of control - of their lives.

***

Or even more extreme - you can label how different kind of people(demographics) use their time - and sell your valuable user data after they've been anonymized.

It would be some very precious and detailed user behavior data.

Pros: What I loved most about this software was the ease of use. It's really easy to utilize through the computer application. This also helps give me an accurate visual as to what I'm working on and how I can better balance my design time.

Cons: What I liked least about this software was the physical cube you are supposed to use to change to a different project. It doesn't register a change in project very well, so I found myself spending extra time trying to get it to land on the correct project and start tracking time. I ended up using the computer application instead and just leaving it open and on my screen all day.

Overall: Overall, Timeular has been a wonderful product for our design team. It's been a huge help in helping us evaluate how much time we should spend on projects based on how much time it took us to do it during the previous year. So far, it's been great and super helpful!

Pros: Working in a scenario where I need to be constantly tracking my time but do not want the interruption of having to open a spreadsheet everytime I switch to something new (which could be 6-10x per day) I love the fact that I have Timeular that enables me to track my tasks accurately without having to open yet another tab or app on my mac. I also love that the design is modern and simple.

Cons: For a while, the desktop app was VERY buggy. Update notifications would be pushed but the actual update would never happen. They have chat support right within the app, so it was nice to reach out and actually be heard, but it still did not resolve my problem for over a month until someone figured out that the only way to overcome that was to do a full re-install. Not *that* big of a deal since the data is cloud-based, but still was not a great experience out of the box.

Things have been more consistent since that incident, although it is still lacking some features that I would love to see. Hopeful they will become available in future releases.

Overall: With Timeular, I solved the business problem of risking getting sidetracked and wasting time when switching between the tasks but needing to track my hours for client billing. Overall, the design of the app and device is very nice. I would definitely recommend Timeular to anyone that is particularly averse to using spreadsheets for time tracking.

Pros: The software is flexible, allowing you to use it in almost any manner you wish

Cons: The biggest issue I have with Timeular is actually utilizing it. When you are busy, I've found it's very difficult to train yourself to remember to flip it. This results in very inaccurate tracking that I have to later correct which for my purposes, is more hassle than it's worth.

I could see additional reminders in the software, perhaps on 15 minutes, and on the hardware itself - make it blink etc - helping to train the user to utilize it.

Overall: As stated, the biggest issues I have is with forcing myself to use it and to remember to do so.

Battery change process was a bit cumbersome for modern electronics. Instead this should be rechargeable. I don't see much reason that a small LiIon battery isn't in this, and that the dock doesn't recharge it, either with spring pins or wireless charging. this would be well worth any added cost to the product.

If the product glowed, blinked, or "breathed" color I think that would help for rembering to use it and also to flip it, etc.

Having fun with work!

Pros: I had a lot of deskside conversations before getting this device. I labelled one of my sides appropriately. In the corporate office environment, suddenly I started getting a lot fewer deskside conversations... there's something about flipping the device in front of people that makes them realize that you switched tasks and they're on the clock. There was a good degree of humour while telling people how it worked. Would buy again just for the psychological benefit!

Cons: Went with the no-ongoing-cost version, not really on board with only 8 tasks permanently, changing one of them changes your entire history and affects metrics. Not the worst downside, and still works for my use case, just annoying.

Overall: Needed to track my time better against particular projects and tickets. This has made it easy to do just that. It also really helps at the end of the week filling in my internal timesheet for capitalization of hours. No more guesswork, built in reminders of how I spent my work week!

Pros: The easy of use and the fact that I can change the task at hand on-the-fly using the paired Octagon.

Cons: The fact that I cannot add a value per task or a value per hour of task. This would be a great improvement that could easily help me check how much I'm earning per-hour on task that have a fixed price per task or calculate how much I should charge for a task based on the pricer per hour.

Overall: Mostly is the easiness of time management that the app/octagon provides. The only issue I've encounter is if I forgot the Octagon on a specific task with my computer on and later stop that task on the app, the octagon will override my manual input and restart the task.

Pros: My favorite feature is the reporting capabilities (visual report w/in app, exporting, tagging, etc.) - it provides me the ability to really analyze my prior week's effort and determine if I am allocating my time on my highest priority tasks.

Cons: I would really like the ability to edit tags (hashtags/mentions). I would also like the ability to do some bulk edits (i.e. change category/hashtag/mention for multiple entries)

Overall: Timeular has proven to be not only useful but so incredibly insightful. I am a consultant and wanted to use Timeular to track billable hours, but once I realized it's potential, I immediately upgraded to the Pro plan. I now use Timeular to keep me focused on my current activity (professional or personal)- when my attention begins to wonder, I am reminded that Timeular is continually clicking along. If you are looking for a solution to help you maintain focus or provide you visibility to where you are spending your most valuable resource (TIME) I would highly recommend Timeular. Pros: It was easy to assign tasks to each face. The ability to see total time spent across dates is useful. It takes a little discipline to use it, but it is by far the easiest time tracking method I have ever tried (and I LIKE convenience)! Timeular updates the software frequently, with new features and bug fixes.

Cons: I work at a desk with a portable laptop, and I'm up and gone too often, with my computer in hand. Syncing the tracker back up to my computer isn't alway automatic.

Overall: The first thing I wanted to do was capture where my time was going in order to identify wastes. After 3 months of continuous use, I was able to go back and look at my statistics. Meetings, e-mail, and disruptions have eaten up too much of my time. I thought this was the case, but now I had data to show my boss!

Cons: I don't like that I can't bring it with me when I am for example working from home.

The app is not as good as I would expect it to be, I can easily think of minimum 5 things which would add a lot more value to it.

Overall: I use it daily for 3 purposes

1) measure my overall working hours (1x a week)

2) measure how much time I spend on specific things (1x a month)

3) remind myself how long I have been spending with unnecessary , less prio stuff (24/7)

Pros: The synchronicity between several other softwares and apps and the concept of tangibility on managing projects and your time with said apps. Also, the constant improvement of timeular is very noticeable and very connected to the community.

Cons: Migrating from and between other apps is confusing, although that is true to any other product. The one thing that bothers me in timeular is the need for the USB dongle.

Overall: My time management has improved a lot since I started using it. My mind was more free to tackle the important tasks and the time to manage my time was reduced by half. Also, the close relationship between the brand and the community, either through updates, tips or, of course, support has left a very positive note in my opinion.

Pros: I'm new to time tracking and for over a year tried multiple methods of tracking time so I could submit my timesheet and bill my clients accurately. This solution is by far the best. Flip the tracker to the correct side and all the work is tracked for you. Super simple and far more accurate! I love this invention.

Cons: I'd love the ability to customize my own weekly report and have it run automatically. The export to excel is great, but has columns I don't need, and I end up adding a column and subtotals on my own.

Overall: My billing has gone up since I can now track every minute of my day - i'm not 'forgetting' to bill the ten minute call here and there. It's super simple to use.

Pros: The GUI. - it's well designed, and makes it easy to analyze your time spent.

Cons: The fact that it moves very slowly in between switching tasks and interfaces. I contacted customer support many times to get it resolved, and they tried but to no avail. They ultimately suggested I should upgrade my Windows version from 7. I will probably get an upgrade in a couple years, but it shouldn't be that difficult to make it run with Windows 7. Also, I don't like that it doesn't track partial minutes. I have to wait until the minute finishes to switch tasks so that I don't lose billable time.

Overall: It was great at first, but all of a sudden started running slow, and that really bothers me.

Cons: There is no ability to archive projects so as to not lose data but keep them off of the activities list.

It is entirely too easy to "forget" an all electronic/app solution. The added Zeio is my reminder of what task I am one and also that I must be aware when I change them.

Pros: The device and software are easy to use. I love the design and how customizable it is while not being overly complex. The reports make filling out my timesheet easy and have contributed to discussions about process and efficiency at work. Coworkers also just think it looks cool.

Cons: I leave the Timeular device on my desk at the office and take my computer with me at night. Getting the device to pair again using the included bluetooth dongle can be tricky. I usually have to unplug and re-plug the dongle. The thing that usually makes people second-guess it while I'm telling them about it is the price.

Overall: at work, we've started to get very introspective about what eats up the clock on any given day. Timeular has given me insight into how much time goes to meetings, phone calls, email, and other various distractions. The software makes filling out our now very complicated time tracking documents a breeze. The colored charts also make it easy to communicate about the many demands on my time to show the higher ups that it's not all writing code and that 9 hours behind a desk is not 9 hours of direct progress. I'm hoping the price comes down somewhat or there are bulk/enterprise deals available soon so I can talk my coworkers/lead into introducing Timeular to the team more formally.

Pros: Being able to visualize how I actually spend my time. I also want to set some limits on certain activities so I don't spend too much time on them.

Cons: Sometimes the bluetooth is finnicky. I am not sure if it is because I run it on multiple devices, but I often have to wait and see that it is actually tracking on my computer or my phone which kinda defeats the purpose.

Overall: I use it on and off. Sometimes it takes more time to actually use it properly (*see above comment). I do like how it encourages me to mindful about my time. It is also wonderfully designed. Since one of my goals was limiting time on certain activities, I wish there could be a way for it notify me when I had reached my limit.

Pros: The software is great to help track your daily activities for metrics. You always 'feel' like you spend more time on one thing than you do on another, and you can account for and prove that with the software. You don't necessarily need the 'cube', but that is a cool feature too. Being able to have 8 'activities' is great.

Cons: My main issue is with the cube itself. The battery that came with it died very quickly. Also, at times the cube loses connectivity with the bluetooth dongle and you have to push the little button again to sync back up. This is only really a problem if you exclusively use the cube.

Overall: Overall it is great for metrics and daily activity tracking. My only gripe is with the cube needing to sync back up at random times as i use that about 90% of the time rather than the software.

Pros: First and foremost, using the software with the ZEI cube is easy, productive, symbolic in that you simply flip the cube to start and stop tracking, and just plain cool to use. The software has gone through a couple of release enhancements and fixes since I've been using it, and each have been beneficial. While it's not perfect and therefore has room for improvement, it is the best I've used to track my time and productivity.

Cons: The tool takes a number of keystrokes to ensure you are tagging things correctly, and I've noticed it doesn't necessarily retain all the tags.

Overall: My job requires me to track my tasks and time for booking. Timeular makes it straight-forward and provides me the summary and detailed reporting I need to keep improving. Good stuff that has a lot of promise for the future!!

Pros: It accurately records the time I spend on each task, and reports on it in a couple of useful ways. It's very easy to use, and set up took almost no time at all.

Cons: I'd like to be able to resize the screen a little more. I keep it open so I can make notes on what I'm doing (especially when I use the same "side" for more than one client) but the screen takes up valuable real estate on my computer screen. My only other complaint was that the battery needed replacement only a few months after I received the device.

Overall: I need to track all of my time for billing purposes. Timular allows me to do this with greater accuracy than tracking on paper, and with less disruption than other computer-based systems I've seen. Plus I can track what I was doing for a client each time I worked on their project, so my reporting is more accurate.

Pros: I love that I can just it's just one click or flip my Zei device to start tracking as soon as I start work with a specific client. It is so easy to export the data (as .csv) and quickly do my monthly invoices. There is no way I could successfully bill my time as a virtual assistant without Timeular.

Cons: I cannot choose custom colours for my time tracking activities. I have each side of my Zei as a specific client and I would like to be able to choose a colour from their logo to identify them. It would be easy for me to quickly see (on the software) which client was which.

Overall: Most virtual assistants request that clients buy a package of hours and charge to the 10 or 15 minute intervals. Because I use Timeular, my clients are happy that I charge an hourly rate and I am able to bill by the minute.

Pros: I LOVE the concept and the actual device. Fits my mental model for

Cons: I find the app pretty hard to use.

- Even after using it for a few months, I constantly click the wrong icon, as they are very minimal and not totally obvious

- The "day view" (clock icon) is really hard to use. You should be able to click and drag the seams of time entries to adjust, but can't. Inevitably you forget to flip your Zei sometimes when you start a new task, and i just want to be able to flip it to the right task, and quickly drag the time back an hour or whatever. Doing this kind of common operation is tedious.

As for the device, my only complaints are:

- sometimes it doesn't automatically connect

- often when leaving work, I shut my laptop, before putting the zei on the rest. I then end up with a running clock on my last task. Not sure what the fix for that would be, or if I just need to make sure I rest it before closing up my computer.

- I alos dislike that the non-subscription version limits your activities.

Overall: I absolutely love the concept and have come to rely on it.

I think the UI/UX of the software has a lot of room for improvement.

Pros: Timeular is the easiest way ever to track the time I spend on different projects. With a simple flip of the Timeular cube, I can indicate what I'm working on and track my time in excellent detail. It's far superior to trying to write down granular details of what I do when.

Cons: If I forget to flip the cube, I have to make corrections. Sometimes I have trouble correcting errors, but nothing that can't be overcome. I just need to pay more attention.

Overall: All my work hours seemed to disappear into a giant "Other" category because I would forget to write things down and later have to guess. All too frequently I couldn't remember. With the Timeular cube on my desk, I have a visual reminder to track my work. It couldn't be easier.

Shipping was incredibly fast too-faster than I even expected!

Pros: Timeular makes tracking your time automatic. No complicated spreadsheets, no lists of a hundred different categories. Assign your tasks, flip your ZEI and get to work. That's all there is to it. You also get beautiful reports emailed automatically and the export functionality allows you to customize your own reports for what ever you need.

Cons: Occasionally the connectivity of the ZEI is finicky, which can disrupt your flow a bit. But it doesn't happen often enough that to stop me from recommending Timeular.

Overall: Timeular has made it possible for me to track my time spent on client work with down to the minute accuracy and none of the end of the week games where I have to try and remember what I did and how much time it took. This software is great!

Pros: Available across multiple platforms (I use Android and Windows) so that I can use it at work and when I'm away from my desk.

Simple, streamlined, and easy to use user interface

Analytics tell you exactly how long you spend on certain items

Cons: The optional Zei is expensive - otherwise I would probably use one to track my tasks. That's really the only con I've found.

Overall: I am able to determine how much time I spend on various projects, which has helped inform conversations I have with my boss about time and resources. This has been immensely helpful since one part of my job was considered small. After tracking with Timeular, I was able to show my boss that I was spending between 40 and 65 percent of my time on that project, instead of the 5 to 10 percent they thought I was spending.

Pros: Easy to use.

The program interface very tidy and modern, but with enough functionality.

The new weekly summary is very great and offers a good overview.

Cons: Entries on the iPhone have had a noticeable delay since the last update, and that slows down the entire recording process enormously!

I miss label templates to download for the "cube", as I see the labeling with the pen as a stopgap. My projects change more often, but I like it tidier :-) I'm more technical than creative guy ...

Overall: Time tracking is much faster and more accurate as the effort is minimal.

Pros: The at a glance view of my day and what I've worked on when, the various reporting capabilities and filters, and the Zei desk device.

The support from the Helpdesk team is incredible - almost immediate response straight away from the desktop app

Cons: Taking the battery in and out is very footery, my battery lasted a matter of a couple of weeks before needing replacing which wasn't ideal but is running perfectly now.

Overall: course the little nifty desk Zei device is fabulous - it adds a bit of interest to my working day I find!

I have to say, I absolutely love it. It's just fantastic - the way I can see my day at a glance, what I've been working on, with the ability to add more entries and run data summaries and such like is excellent. And of course the little nifty desk Zei device is fabulous - it adds a bit of interest to my working day I find!

I have to say too - the support function on the desktop app is incredible - no more having to go into a separate email or website to find contact details and so on, I can just message straight away from the one place, and the response time is super fast. It's the small things like that, that make such a difference - it's a fantastic concept and product.

Pros: In my job, I switch a lot between tasks (emails, meetings, etc.) and sometimes I would have no idea how I had spent my time or whether or not I had focused on the right things during the week. Since I've been using Timeular, I can hold myself accountable to how I direct my time and attention and I feel like I'm getting a lot more done every week.

Both the device and software are super easy to use. I like the clean interface and found it very reliable when tracking. I had no connectivity issues to date.

Cons: I wish there was a little bag or something that I can use when taking the device with me.

Overall: Would recommend to anyone who wants to get insights into how they spend their day.
