Pros: I like it's ease of use the most. It's effortless to use - link each side of the ZEI with a category in the software. I have tried software timers, time trackers on my phone. Each and every one I stop using within days - usually within hours. It just requires too much keeping in mind that I have a tracker running, switch to the application or open my phone, and change it. With the ZEI, I just have to reach over and change facings. And since the ZEI hardware sits on my desk in front of my monitor, I don't forget to do it.

In the PC version, the software is very responsive to when I change from one side to another. It's also very easy to just type a couple of words of description into each recorded block to let myself know what I was doing during that time.

I find another useful feature is that, while you can only assign one category to a face, you can have many more categories than faces. I use it to track, for example, how much time is spent on different projects. I have one face for 'Project' which I use to track the time block. In the software, after I finished tracking that block, I will change the category from 'Project' to "Specific Project A' or whatever. It's very quick and simple to do, requiring near zero effort on my part.

Cons: The app versions - at least running on my phone and tablet - aren't very responsive. It would take several seconds for the app to respond when I change faces or when I wanted to add a note to an entry. I haven't used the app on either for a while now, so that might have been improved since then.

Overall: Although I use it primarily for tracking how much time I spend doing things at work (including NOT doing work), it's only for my own personal information. It started when I was asking myself just what I spent my time at work doing. I wanted to know, even in broad terms, just how long was I *really* spending trying to read papers and documentation, how much I was actively working on projects, and - let's face it - how much time I wasted on email, Facebook, etc.

Speaking of wasting time, just the mere presence of the ZEI sitting on the desk in front of me has made me more mindful of just how much time I spend on email and (especially!!) the black hole/time suck of YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, and the rest of those. Instead of just opening a new browser tab to, say, check news feeds "for just a minute" - meaning those special minutes that last hours - now I have the little external reminder of the ZEI to give me that little extra pause and reconsider. While I might still spend an hour or more when I do get sucked down one of those black holes, now I don't go there as often. That alone has helped me regain some time and focus.

Pros: The basic fundament of it is great. The ZEI caught my eye 2 years ago when it was still in development, and the design of the octahedron tracking current activity seemed great. When it is working, I really enjoy the ability to track all the tasks I engage in daily to better estimate time use, and take notes for different things. My position at my small company involves wearing many hats, and tracking which hat I am wearing for how long is very useful. I do not even use the time card export feature set - the primary purpose of ZEI and Timeular - and I still find some benefit.

Cons: Feature request: the ZEI should have a lithium ion battery and USB charging, with rotation-triggered connection after standing it on a corner in the stand puts it to sleep. In my opinion, the device should not need a button press to turn it on once it has been connected - my biggest qualms with the physical device are that it intermittently needs to be reconnected. If the device fails to connect on a turn, a simple beep from the device would probably be the best feature to reduce pain level at intermittent connectivity - an inherent problem with Bluetooth devices.

For Timeular itself: with my use for complex task management, the interface is a little restrictive. I find that 8 activities alone are insufficient, and I have to manually adjust many activities to a different type. Feature request: I would really enjoy the option to set 8 *types* of activities, and every time I flip the device I am prompted to sub-select a specific task. The notifications through Windows 10 are sufficient to mediate these prompts. For example, "Meetings" as a type, with sub-types for each team I might meet with. Perhaps this is met by allowing an activity to be set as an "activity class", and if the prompt is not answered then the unspecified activity class remains for later review. Also, a prompt for entering notes upon a flip would be equally sweet. Even sweeter would be a "default notes entry" for each activity or activity class that pre-writes some of the notes field for me.

Overall: I use it mainly for tracking progress on projects and time fractions spent doing various tasks, and NOT for the time-tracking capability that is central to the design of the product. I enjoy recording notes about what I do throughout the day, and I enjoy understanding better how long it takes me to do some tasks to enhance my work time estimation skills. The device also serves as a constant reminder of what I am doing, and I have acquired a keen habit of looking at it to remember what I was just doing, or to remember what I must do next.

Ultimately, though, ZEI and Timeular don't do enough of what I want them to do.

By updating the ZEI to use USB-recharged Li-Ion batteries, passive electronics and a connectivity failure sound from the device, the ZEI itself would be very future-proof as a platform.

By including more usability and hierarchy in activities and notes features would be the biggest benefit to my user experience. I leverage the activity tracking strictly to understand my time use better and to stay on task. Timeular does some of this but not enough. Please see my "Cons:" section for a few feature request details. I hope they are helpful, I would very highly recommend the product with these software-only feature updates!

Multi-colored markers would be cool, too, or perhaps a smooth plastic material that permits permanent ink to be erased with a solvent wipe without damage.

Overall decent time-keeping tool for freelancers (and a good conversation-starter)!

Pros: While the title of my review is specifically about Timeular's ZEI tool, I will make these comments about both that device and their time-tracking software in general.

For starters, the ZEI is a very easy-to-use time-tracker. The fact that it's a physical object sitting there on the desk also makes for an easier time remembering to start and stop tracking the time I spend working.

It's software is good, but not great. It's UI is fairly straightforward and easy enough to navigate. I also like that it's a desktop app, as opposed to something that has to be accessed via a web portal. Compared to other leading time-tracking company's desktop apps that I've tried, this one works better and provides more control options. I also appreciate the integrations with other software and would LOVE to see more added in the future.

Cons: My biggest problem with the Timeular software is that it still feels very tethered or limited by the ZEI device's 8-sided physicality. I get that the ZEI is the right hand and that the software was probably originally designed to be the left hand, however, it seems to me that Timeular's end game is to scale beyond that.

A few thoughts/criticisms for how to improve:

- The ZEI has 8 sides. Make it easier in the software to assign those sides to be more general "families" or "genres" of work, and then offer the ability for an unlimited # of projects to start, live, and be completed/archived within those families . This way, I'm not constantly having to reassign sides of the ZEI to correspond with a new client or project.

- Give me the ability to log time by day without needing to assign a working session starting and ending times to the minute. In other words, I write down in my paper journal while on the road that I worked 2.5 hours last Thursday, 9/27. I want the ability to be able to go click on last Thursday and quickly type in that I worked 2.5 hours. Doesn't matter WHEN I worked those 2.5 hours in that 24-hour day to my client. They get billed all the same and don't ask when, throughout my days, I'm logging time. I've never really understood why the timestamps are so important. Maybe that information is more important in the corporate world where employees are only "supposed" to be working during certain hours. However, ask any freelancer if that matters. J

Overall: All in all, Timeular HAS greatly improved my consistency with keeping track of where my time is going. I used to be really bad about logging working time, and adding Timeular to the arsenal has greatly improved time/work documentation.

Pros: Timeular has streamlined my time-sheet processes immensely and made visualizing my time-management (or, some weeks, lack thereof) a breeze.

Cons: Sometimes the app is a little slow and clunky, especially for editing/deleting entries (such as when my cube/D8 rolls around in my bag between client sites and logs a bunch of 1-2 minute nonsense entries I would like to be able to mass-delete, but I have to load and delete each one individually, and sometimes it misses a cube-switch and I end up with comically long time logs, my personal record being 43 hours when it missed being turned off before a weekend...). Also (not re:the software, but the physical cube itself), as someone with a fine-motor disability, the on-off switch mechanism is physically challenging to use, so it doesn't end up turning off reliably when I'm not using it even if I try to hit and squeeze the on-off button. But every app update does seem to make it a little smoother each time, so keep it up, hardworking coding team! Overall: I consult with schools, helping them "gamify" their curricula, and I bill each school by the hour. Instead of spending 1-2 additional hours a week creating, updating, and extracting each client school's time sheet, it takes me 15 minutes to double-check for extraneous/mis-attributed entries and pull together Excel sheets for my overall billable hours and for each client's weekly hours, down to the minute! I can accurately log my creative-brained-tendency to switch rapidly between tasks and am far more confident that I'm not accidentally over- or under-estimating any time spent on a project when I get distracted or In The Flow. I get so many questions and compliments on my "Work D8" as my spouse, clients, and I affectionately refer to it, and I tend to evangelize for my Timeular device and app without even realizing I've slipped into Timeular-PR mode! ;) Thank you SO MUCH for this invention, and I look forward to all the functionality tweaks and updates you geniuses come up with next.

Pros: Timuelar is really easy to use. Interface is clean and there is no confusion about how it works.

Time entries are easy to edit. You can create your own types of projects and colour-code them (many colours to choose from). There is even a place to add additional notes.

You have a status report anytime you need it and an additional report at the end of the week of time spent on projects.

Uploads easy to Excel for tax purposes (if necessary in your area/country) and is super readable.

Right now I'm using the free version of the software and I can't say enough about it. I've tested multiple leading time-tracking software and this is by far the best experience so far.

Cons: I wish there was a Pomodoro timer function; set for 25 min (or whatever you set it to). This is what I find lacking (and very handy), but perhaps this is with the Zei/paid version? I don't know.

I also wish there was an automatic stop after x-amount of time if I forget to turn off the timer. I want to say this was covered in the last update, but have not seen evidence of this. It's always a surprise to turn on the computer in the morning to see my work on Social Media has been going on for 12 hrs :D

Overall: Minimal to no need to interact with Support as everything is pretty clear. I believe the one time I did contact Support (before some major updates), my request was dealt with quickly and professionally, and with a wonderful friendly tone over the email!

It really makes it easy to keep track of time with both computer and phone app. If I forget to turn off my timing on the computer, I can do it on my phone at a later time (and/or edit it, of course). It makes me wish I had the Zei. My focus is not spent on spending a lot of time organizing timing of project management, and I love that.

Pros: I love the simplicity of the device and that it is a visible reminder on my desk of what I should be working on. It is easy to get distracted and go down a rabbit hole, but when I notice the Timeular device on my desk, I have to make a conscious decision whether I switch to another tracking category or whether I need to get back to the task at hand. It has also been a helpful reminder for other people who come into my office to ask questions. When they see me switch sides from whatever I was working on, they realize they are taking time away from other projects I'm supposed to be working on and they can decide how important/urgent their questions are.

Cons: Not much, but if I had to pick something, I would love a notification (email or push) if it disconnects from my computer for more than 30 minutes (I almost always forget to put it back on the base at the end of the day and the next day I have to adjust the time that has been running all night).

Overall: Timeular both helps me track the time I spend on things and be conscious of the choices I am making with my time throughout the day. There are certain days where I might completely forget to use it, but when I do my reporting, it reinforces how important it is to keep up on it. The thing I have appreciated most about Timeular that I didn't expect, was how it helped me realize my frequency of switching tasks throughout the day. Instead, I've started chunking my time better and choosing what I spend time on, rather than just jumping all over the place.

Pros: Simple interface that is easy to understand and use. The updates have made things way better, it used to disconnect all the time and now it's working great. I like that I can also make changes to my data or start/stop tracking activities from my phone. Just the same it's easy to modify your data on the desktop application and track activities that you may not have assigned to a side.

Cons: Wish there were more colors to choose when creating the different activities. Wouldn't mind have more sides to the dice, even if it meant that it had to be a bit bigger.

Overall: I need to log what I do at work at the end of the day. This helps me track all that I do and I don't have to add up the hours at the end of the day. If I go from responding to email to a meeting then back to email, it calculates all the time for each activity and makes life easier. Before I was using paper and soft of keeping track of my time and at the end of the day estimating my time. Now I can give precise times and easily look back at my history to see what I have been doing and for how long. This is a great product for keeping track of this kind of stuff. They have other apps that you can use, but being able to turn a physical object makes it so much better.

Pros: -makes it fast and easy to switch between tasks

-physical object for task-switching is superior to any software interface

-data persistence across devices makes it easy to access time records and track time even when I'm away from my computer

Cons: -insufficient instructions provided to get up-and-running with the software; I had to use some trial and error at first

-would be nice to be able to fine-tune the settings a bit, such as being able to customize the minimum time recorded (currently set at 1 minute)

Overall: As an attorney, I have to carefully track and record the time I spend working on client matters. If I overestimate my time, the client is overcharged (and will get rightfully annoyed); if I underestimate my time, my firm loses money and I lose credit. However, as a startup attorney I may work on 6-10 clients in an average day with rapid switching between them. All of this is to say that time tracking is both incredibly important to me job, and incredibly painful.

I've tried our firm's time-tracking timers, but having another window I have to attend to among the dozens of open documents on my computer is a headache. I've tried writing my time in notebooks, but it's easy to lose track of my notes. Ultimately I always ended up spending a full day at the end of each month trying to rebuild lost time from emails (which likely resulted in underreporting my time).

Timeular has revolutionized my time-tracking efforts. Using a physical object to change tasks removes the "yet another window" problem-and I almost never forget to switch because it's always right there on my desk. But the software itself keeps track of the time, and the data is persistent across devices (including my phone), so I have easy access to a clean record of my time to reference when I'm logging my time entries on my firm's time entry system.

Time entry has gone from being the most dreaded and unpleasant part of my job, to something I no longer think about. It's been amazing.

Pros: Timeular is a fun little device that makes it very easy to track my time on multiple projects, as well as the time I spend on each step I need to complete within each project. It has also made me more aware of how much time can be lost browsing social media feeds, and how many un-billable hours I have spent on administrative duties.

Cons: The user interface allows for the addition of several projects and tasks that can become unwieldy after a year using this device and wrapping up close to 100 projects; there is no way to delete completed project names or rename them to reduce the bulk, but it is intuitive and a few keystrokes usually pulls up what you need.

Overall: I have labeled each side of my device to represent the key clients I work with throughout the year, and left a few sides open for administration, to track time sinks, and for marketing/ideation. I use the software to track each client's projects (using the @ symbol and a project name) and the # to tag tasks like #research, #transcripts, and #reportwriting that are common across the different projects I take on. Timeular gives me a full breakdown of the time involved at each step, which has helped me with more accurate costing, improving productivity, and planning deadlines.

Love the product, as a POC its solid to improve individual performance.

Pros: The software on android is fine. It could use some color to draw attention to things since most of the time you open it and the they is a thick grey on white wall. some times the bluetooth goes wonky and you have to fiddle with it for a minute of reboot it, or reboot the phone, but it is a solid quality product.

Cons: The calendar from the android app when you open it should query your current time and move to that, not pull 12AM. The only reason from a phone you would open the calendar view is to make an adjustment so lets move it to go pull up current time.

On the Pie Chart, selecting date ranges feels clunky because it looks like you can slide a range, but the UI can not handle that. Just click twice to get the date ranges works fine but the color pallet makes it appear you should be able to drag a range.

Overall: The product shipped quickly, it is accurate as I am and sitting on the desk in front of the mouse makes it non intrusive enough to be fairly reliable. The reporting functions on pro could use a few more tweaks I feel and the android app can use some minor UI adjustments but the product is great. I use it as a software engineer to help record time, and improve focus. I took empirical data back to my team members and was able to re-arrange things so I spent more time working on what makes us money.

Mandating use of this product is bad micro-management practices, but having the option to use the product is a way to take your high performance individuals to the next level. I don't write reviews for products that are OK, or products that didn't return a high value. Timeular was worth my personal money to improve my work time. No purchasable item, short of better keyboards or monitors, has the value of making work better.

Pros: It's intuitive and beautiful - Kudos to your UI designer. I can get access easily to all the things I want to know about; device connectivity, current working time, total working time - ect.

Cons: I feel like Timeular could still do more to help users into better habits. For instance, I noticed that when I start my day sometimes timeular will notify me to use my device - this is awesome. Unfortunately I often leave my desk at the end of the day forgetting to turn my timeular device back over... I think the software should allow me to define working times and maybe also define a notification time limit that will maybe notify me through my phone that I might have allowed my device to runaway on me. If I tell the software 'yes' it is a runaway - end the task at the time I listed as the end of my workday. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

I think the other area Timeular falls short is in the integrations stage. The UI controls are clunky in the web portal and not well explained. Also the tutorials for setup live outside the integration setup process... Why? Why not use the tutorial to make the setup process more intuitive?

Overall: Great! Helpful staff. Great Product - thanks for helping me track my work.

Pros: Downright simple to use (when it works). Assign tasks to your Zei and flip.

Calendar view gives a fantastic overview of your hours tracked each day over the month.

Cons: Zei hardly ever connects properly. I've even had a new one sent to me but I still have a ton of connection issues. Very unfortunate.

Another huge issue I have is there is no way to filter calendar view by task. To get my total daily hours for a specific task I need to export to excel and fiddle with filtering. Would absolutely love to have filtering built into the calendar view.

Overall: I requested the filtering on calendar feature about 1 year ago and it still hasn't been added, so either they don't take feature requests from users or I'm the only one who cares about this feature.

Also the connectivity issue is a huge issue for me. Quite often it wont start tracking a task until I fiddle with turning it off and on a few times. Other times it won't stop tracking and I'll come back to it the next day and realize my tracking never stopped and I've got to figure it all out by hand.

Pros: The software is flexible, allowing you to use it in almost any manner you wish

Cons: The biggest issue I have with Timeular is actually utilizing it. When you are busy, I've found it's very difficult to train yourself to remember to flip it. This results in very inaccurate tracking that I have to later correct which for my purposes, is more hassle than it's worth.

I could see additional reminders in the software, perhaps on 15 minutes, and on the hardware itself - make it blink etc - helping to train the user to utilize it.

Overall: As stated, the biggest issues I have is with forcing myself to use it and to remember to do so.

Battery change process was a bit cumbersome for modern electronics. Instead this should be rechargeable. I don't see much reason that a small LiIon battery isn't in this, and that the dock doesn't recharge it, either with spring pins or wireless charging. this would be well worth any added cost to the product.

If the product glowed, blinked, or "breathed" color I think that would help for rembering to use it and also to flip it, etc.

Pros: I had a lot of deskside conversations before getting this device. I labelled one of my sides appropriately. In the corporate office environment, suddenly I started getting a lot fewer deskside conversations... there's something about flipping the device in front of people that makes them realize that you switched tasks and they're on the clock. There was a good degree of humour while telling people how it worked. Would buy again just for the psychological benefit!

Cons: Went with the no-ongoing-cost version, not really on board with only 8 tasks permanently, changing one of them changes your entire history and affects metrics. Not the worst downside, and still works for my use case, just annoying.

Overall: Needed to track my time better against particular projects and tickets. This has made it easy to do just that. It also really helps at the end of the week filling in my internal timesheet for capitalization of hours. No more guesswork, built in reminders of how I spent my work week!

Pros: Very easy to use. I've never experienced any bugs or difficulties using the software with the device (pretty good achievement in my opinion). App syncs with the device quickly.

Cons: Right now I'm only using the app and I wouldn't mind having the ability to see more statistics of what I'm doing with my time. When I look at the chart of how much time I'm spending on each activity, the app always defaults to looking at the whole week. I would like the option to change the default to just looking at my time on a daily basis.

Overall: It's great to see where my time is going.

Pros: The synchronicity between several other softwares and apps and the concept of tangibility on managing projects and your time with said apps. Also, the constant improvement of timeular is very noticeable and very connected to the community.

Cons: Migrating from and between other apps is confusing, although that is true to any other product. The one thing that bothers me in timeular is the need for the USB dongle.

Overall: My time management has improved a lot since I started using it. My mind was more free to tackle the important tasks and the time to manage my time was reduced by half. Also, the close relationship between the brand and the community, either through updates, tips or, of course, support has left a very positive note in my opinion.

Cons: The fact that it moves very slowly in between switching tasks and interfaces. I contacted customer support many times to get it resolved, and they tried but to no avail. They ultimately suggested I should upgrade my Windows version from 7. I will probably get an upgrade in a couple years, but it shouldn't be that difficult to make it run with Windows 7. Also, I don't like that it doesn't track partial minutes. I have to wait until the minute finishes to switch tasks so that I don't lose billable time.

Overall: It was great at first, but all of a sudden started running slow, and that really bothers me.

Pros: I love the cross device syncing. Off to a meeting and forgot to flip the Zeio? Cehange it in the app! No problem.

Cons: There is no ability to archive projects so as to not lose data but keep them off of the activities list.

Overall: Timeular and Zeio have addressed my two primary needs in one perfect solution. Electronic time tracking with a physical component to keep the process in your conciousness. It is entirely too easy to "forget" an all electronic/app solution. The added Zeio is my reminder of what task I am one and also that I must be aware when I change them.

Pros: The device and software are easy to use. I love the design and how customizable it is while not being overly complex. The reports make filling out my timesheet easy and have contributed to discussions about process and efficiency at work. Coworkers also just think it looks cool.

Cons: I leave the Timeular device on my desk at the office and take my computer with me at night. Getting the device to pair again using the included bluetooth dongle can be tricky. I usually have to unplug and re-plug the dongle. The thing that usually makes people second-guess it while I'm telling them about it is the price.

Overall: at work, we've started to get very introspective about what eats up the clock on any given day. Timeular has given me insight into how much time goes to meetings, phone calls, email, and other various distractions. The software makes filling out our now very complicated time tracking documents a breeze. The colored charts also make it easy to communicate about the many demands on my time to show the higher ups that it's not all writing code and that 9 hours behind a desk is not 9 hours of direct progress. I'm hoping the price comes down somewhat or there are bulk/enterprise deals available soon so I can talk my coworkers/lead into introducing Timeular to the team more formally.

Pros: Being able to visualize how I actually spend my time. I also want to set some limits on certain activities so I don't spend too much time on them.

Cons: Sometimes the bluetooth is finnicky. I am not sure if it is because I run it on multiple devices, but I often have to wait and see that it is actually tracking on my computer or my phone which kinda defeats the purpose.

Overall: I use it on and off. Sometimes it takes more time to actually use it properly (*see above comment). I do like how it encourages me to mindful about my time. It is also wonderfully designed. Since one of my goals was limiting time on certain activities, I wish there could be a way for it notify me when I had reached my limit.

Pros: First and foremost, using the software with the ZEI cube is easy, productive, symbolic in that you simply flip the cube to start and stop tracking, and just plain cool to use. The software has gone through a couple of release enhancements and fixes since I've been using it, and each have been beneficial. While it's not perfect and therefore has room for improvement, it is the best I've used to track my time and productivity.

Cons: The tool takes a number of keystrokes to ensure you are tagging things correctly, and I've noticed it doesn't necessarily retain all the tags.

Overall: My job requires me to track my tasks and time for booking. Timeular makes it straight-forward and provides me the summary and detailed reporting I need to keep improving. Good stuff that has a lot of promise for the future!!

Pros: It accurately records the time I spend on each task, and reports on it in a couple of useful ways. It's very easy to use, and set up took almost no time at all.

Cons: I'd like to be able to resize the screen a little more. I keep it open so I can make notes on what I'm doing (especially when I use the same "side" for more than one client) but the screen takes up valuable real estate on my computer screen. My only other complaint was that the battery needed replacement only a few months after I received the device.

Overall: I need to track all of my time for billing purposes. Timular allows me to do this with greater accuracy than tracking on paper, and with less disruption than other computer-based systems I've seen. Plus I can track what I was doing for a client each time I worked on their project, so my reporting is more accurate.

Pros: I love that I can just it's just one click or flip my Zei device to start tracking as soon as I start work with a specific client. It is so easy to export the data (as .csv) and quickly do my monthly invoices. There is no way I could successfully bill my time as a virtual assistant without Timeular.

Cons: I cannot choose custom colours for my time tracking activities. I have each side of my Zei as a specific client and I would like to be able to choose a colour from their logo to identify them. It would be easy for me to quickly see (on the software) which client was which.

Overall: Most virtual assistants request that clients buy a package of hours and charge to the 10 or 15 minute intervals. Because I use Timeular, my clients are happy that I charge an hourly rate and I am able to bill by the minute.

Pros: I LOVE the concept and the actual device. Fits my mental model for

Cons: I find the app pretty hard to use.

- Even after using it for a few months, I constantly click the wrong icon, as they are very minimal and not totally obvious

- The "day view" (clock icon) is really hard to use. You should be able to click and drag the seams of time entries to adjust, but can't. Inevitably you forget to flip your Zei sometimes when you start a new task, and i just want to be able to flip it to the right task, and quickly drag the time back an hour or whatever. Doing this kind of common operation is tedious.

As for the device, my only complaints are:

- sometimes it doesn't automatically connect

- often when leaving work, I shut my laptop, before putting the zei on the rest. I then end up with a running clock on my last task. Not sure what the fix for that would be, or if I just need to make sure I rest it before closing up my computer.

- I alos dislike that the non-subscription version limits your activities.

Overall: I absolutely love the concept and have come to rely on it.

I think the UI/UX of the software has a lot of room for improvement.

Pros: Timeular is the easiest way ever to track the time I spend on different projects. With a simple flip of the Timeular cube, I can indicate what I'm working on and track my time in excellent detail. It's far superior to trying to write down granular details of what I do when.

Cons: If I forget to flip the cube, I have to make corrections. Sometimes I have trouble correcting errors, but nothing that can't be overcome. I just need to pay more attention.

Overall: All my work hours seemed to disappear into a giant "Other" category because I would forget to write things down and later have to guess. All too frequently I couldn't remember. With the Timeular cube on my desk, I have a visual reminder to track my work. It couldn't be easier.

Shipping was incredibly fast too-faster than I even expected!

Pros: Timeular makes tracking your time automatic. No complicated spreadsheets, no lists of a hundred different categories. Assign your tasks, flip your ZEI and get to work. That's all there is to it. You also get beautiful reports emailed automatically and the export functionality allows you to customize your own reports for what ever you need.

Cons: Occasionally the connectivity of the ZEI is finicky, which can disrupt your flow a bit. But it doesn't happen often enough that to stop me from recommending Timeular.

Overall: Timeular has made it possible for me to track my time spent on client work with down to the minute accuracy and none of the end of the week games where I have to try and remember what I did and how much time it took. This software is great!

Pros: Available across multiple platforms (I use Android and Windows) so that I can use it at work and when I'm away from my desk.

Analytics tell you exactly how long you spend on certain items

Cons: The optional Zei is expensive - otherwise I would probably use one to track my tasks. That's really the only con I've found.

Overall: I am able to determine how much time I spend on various projects, which has helped inform conversations I have with my boss about time and resources. This has been immensely helpful since one part of my job was considered small. After tracking with Timeular, I was able to show my boss that I was spending between 40 and 65 percent of my time on that project, instead of the 5 to 10 percent they thought I was spending.

Pros: Easy to use.

The program interface very tidy and modern, but with enough functionality.

The new weekly summary is very great and offers a good overview.

Cons: Entries on the iPhone have had a noticeable delay since the last update, and that slows down the entire recording process enormously!

I miss label templates to download for the "cube", as I see the labeling with the pen as a stopgap. My projects change more often, but I like it tidier :-) I'm more technical than creative guy ...

Overall: Time tracking is much faster and more accurate as the effort is minimal.

Pros: In my job, I switch a lot between tasks (emails, meetings, etc.) and sometimes I would have no idea how I had spent my time or whether or not I had focused on the right things during the week. Since I've been using Timeular, I can hold myself accountable to how I direct my time and attention and I feel like I'm getting a lot more done every week.

Both the device and software are super easy to use. I like the clean interface and found it very reliable when tracking. I had no connectivity issues to date.

Cons: I wish there was a little bag or something that I can use when taking the device with me.

Overall: Would recommend to anyone who wants to get insights into how they spend their day.

Pros: I've been with these guys since they started on Kickstarter and haven't anticipated a device or the software to go with it more than Timeular. It's great for tracking project time (ie Billable hours!!) and other assorted tasks to ensure I'm spending time doing the things I should be doing throughout the day.

Cons: As with any new software company - there were bugs in the beginning. But any issues I had when they begun are long gone by now. Zero problems getting what I need to get out of this software.

Pros: I like that I can track different categories of tasks and allows me to reflect on where my time is going. It measures my efforts on the surface so that I can manage my efforts at a deeper level.

Cons: Honestly, there's not much that I don't like. Perhaps an indication of how the scoring system works would be a nice addition to the mix.

Pros: It's incredibly easy for me to keep track of my time every day down to the minute. I can also quickly pull a report to show how much time I've spent with a specific client or on a specific task. The ability to set higher-level categories and then categorize using @ and # to get more granular is incredibly helpful. Also, while this isn't necessarily relevant, it's fun - the way they describe their updates is very clever.

Cons: I haven't yet found an easy way to share a time report with my clients. If I export the report, the result is an Excel document that contains a lot more data than they'd ever want - at the very least, I have to delete a lot of columns and update the formatting before I'd send it to anyone. My workaround has been to take a screenshot of the visual report I see within the software, but that's not ideal either. Being able to export a visually-appealing PDF would be amazing.

Overall: I've recommended Timeular to my clients because of its incredible ease of use and great desktop and mobile functionality.

Pros: Real time tracking, ability to record comments on each entry (I use this for: client name, tix number), ability to use without the cube (perfect for when I work from home), lastly the overall summary of the day view.

Cons: I do wish there were more integrations available; OpenAir is one of the largest platforms for timetracking (end of each day I switch to the day summary view then manually fill out my employers timesheet), I hope it's on your roadmap for future integrations.

Overall: it's been wonderful, I no longer have to search through my gut commits, emails, calendar, etc to see what I worked on at the end of the day. I love the ease of flipping the cube

Pros: - Intuitive, customizable software

- Supports lots of different platforms

- Really easy to get started

- Very fast, easy way to track time

- App data automatically updates across mobile and desktop software

- Support directly in the app is convenient and responsive

Cons: - Early versions have a few bugs, but still very usable. Changing settings for date/time format in US must be done every day until app is updated (fix is in the works)

- For use with a PC you need a USB dongle (mac's and phones work with just bluetooth, currently using my phone). My first dongle was very unreliable and unusable. They offered to ship me a replacement no problem.

Overall: I really love this device. Despite some small hiccups that every new hardware company sees, this time tracking tool saves me a full hour of what used to be manual time tracking every week, and dramatically improved data quality of time entries. The support staff is response and listens to user feedback, and the software and hardware is slick and user friendly. It's a great productivity tool for me

Pros: It is connected to a bluetooth device that you just flip over to track time. Easy to use and it reminds you to start using it in the morning. It links to Toggl - which my company uses for time tracking.

Pros: It's very visually appealing and easy to use. You can get it up and running in just a couple minutes but I ended up spending a lot more time on that just because I enjoyed configuring everything. Using the Zei, I haven't experienced issues with connectivity and either use it on my laptop or my phone, but you do need to disconnect from one device to use it on the other. But the fact that it's multliplatform is awesome.

Cons: The Android app is a little laggy when changing events on your daily timeline and takes several seconds to show up. There is no global tag editing with minimal (yet still effective! it's good) tag implementation. Entry editing for PC could be improved like when adding/editing time values. It would be nice to be able to choose minimum time increments when retroactively logging; they're currently set at an hour and I'd like the option to have half-hour blocks. I don't like using up a USB port on the adapter for the Zei.

Pros: The physical dice makes it so easy to switch between clients / projects - I've tried a number of time management apps but always find I forget to go in and change if I switch. Particularly if it was an 'interruption' such as a long phone call. With the Timeular dice, you just flip it over to the right client and then flip back to what you were working on. It's so simple but it really works. My time management has been much more accurate since I've been using it.

Cons: There have been a few issues with the physical dice disconnecting - although it does continue to monitor time. Customer service were responsive and they are continuing to release regular updates to iron out the early adopter issues.

Overall: Monitoring time spent on each client - some for billing and some just for my own time management - has been so much easier since getting my Timeular. The app (for me on iPhone and Mac) has made it easy to make adjustments and I've used the reporting to backup my invoices to clients.

Pros: I've played with a few different time management programs but Timeular's desktop/mobile app is hands down the best! Coupled with their slick ZEIº cube it's seriously doubled my productivity levels. I never have to worry about forgetting to turn an activity on or off when the cube is 6 inches from my keyboard at all times.

Cons: The only issue I ever had with the software was fixed with a patch shortly after I started using Timeular. Sometimes I would have to restart the Timeular program if my ZEIº cube didn't connect. But like I said, it works flawlessly now.

Overall: The number one benefit I've noticed is realizing just how much time I was wasting. I always believed that I worked 6 hours a day, but after using Timeular I realized I was really working closer to 4.5 hours. I had no idea that the little things like random Youtube videos, lunch breaks, and other distractions eating a huge portion of the time I specified as 'work'. Knowing exactly where my time is being spent has made me a much more productive worker.

Cons: It is too easy to accidentally create duplicate @ or # items and I still can't figure out how to delete them.

Overall: This is a much faster way to track my time than the system at my company and helps me keep an accurate record of how I am using my time. Pros: I love how easy it is to track many types of labor. Being able to customize each side really helps too!

Cons: Personally, I would really benefit from more advanced reporting functionality. Being able to get a per week list or per month would be useful without having to run a report for every 'partition' of time. I would also like to be able to track one-off events such as 'loading trucks' or 'repairing forklift' without having to change my cube. This may not be feasible with the design of the database, but even with manual entry, I dont think there would be too much overhead. Perhaps there could be an additional ID in the database with a non unique index with one-off events?

Overall: Starting out, I had some issues with pairing at the beginning of the day with windows 10, but an update quickly fixed that. I love how the company pushes out frequent updates and how they publish them, a little humor is a nice change for software companies. The cube? Is easy to use and very effective.

Pros: I enjoy the timeular reports and summary the most out of the features. It is clear and helpful to determine the hours required for the timesheet.

I also enjoy the schedule view showing the different inputs throughout the day.

Cons: My least favorite part are the bugs associated with the 24hour vs 12 hour options, the sometimes glitchy record keeping across multiple devices (PC to phone). And the fact that the manual time editing allows you to go backwards and change dates/times incorrectly. There should be a way to manually change the setting between tasks (min task time when manually entering). For now it's set to an hour, but if it was manual, I'd be able to change it based on my preference.

Overall: Overall experience is very positive. I believe that my use of timeular and ZEi has helped me become better at tracking my time and tasks throughout the day. I'd like for there to be more reminders to change a task - at the desktop or at the device.

Pros: easy to stop timing a task and switch to another task. It's easy to adjust the timing also, if you left a timer running too long.

Cons: Integration with the ZEI hardware. I never really knew if the timer was OFF. Well, i would find out later. I would THINK I had turned it off, would see the light go off, and put it in my bag, but when I arrived home hours later and opened the computer, I would find that the software had been timing for HOURS even after I thought it was off.

In future designs, perhaps it would be better to have a SWITCH (in which it's clear when device is off) instead of a button.

ALSO, there is no option to turn off military time. We don't tend to use that here in the US. I heard it's coming in "future versions" but it has not arrived yet.

Overall: i am a freelancer so i was looking for a good tool to enable me to switch tasks quickly. I like the idea of physical objects vs. virtual, so the ZEI/Timeular combo looked good to me.

Pros: The desktop app is clean, easy to use, and the customization is perfect. As a remote worker, I use this software to build an informative record that serves as a time-card and provides accountability for my employer. Surprisingly, I worked less once I downloaded the program because I was previously underestimating my work time and not accurately accounting for my breaks.

Cons: The phone app is a little clunky to use. It takes a few too many clicks to end one activity and begin another one.

Overall: I work from home and Timular allows me to accurately track my time-card, account for my hours, and assess my productivity. I've altered my work schedule and designated "busy" times to minimize distractions and increase my production.

The program has also given me a sense of security. I clock out every day certain I've completed my shift fully and knowing I can account for every minute of my time. In turn, I worry less about work when I'm off the clock so my work/life balance has improved.

Pros: - Visualizations of time tracked

- Easy connection with hardware

- Simple to use filters to view projects

- Fun and visual

Cons: No major cons to note. That doesn't mean that everything is perfect, but the software does what I need it to do. The only thing that I'd like to see would be more direct integrations with invoicing software. That should come as use of the software increases.

Pros: Timeular is very useful to track your productivity and assess it quite easy. I use to manage my workload among several goals: professional commitments and personal, as studying time, volunteering, etc. Timeular really solved my time managment problems.

Cons: It could be interesting if we could set goals for the week or for the month and then track them down during those periods.

Pros: The software is flexible, works cross platforms, and can be configured the way your organization works.

Cons: Team functions are not present, and some of the admin features are a head scratcher.

Overall: As a early adopter I have watched it grow, and use it daily. It allows a flexible means to track time and generate reports on activity. The customer support has always been responsive, and has worked well to solve any issues. I really like the flexibility in deciding what to track time to, that was a Key item as my work morphs and so what is a activity today may become something we come back to latter on.

Pros: If you have to track your time for work, you might as well do it in geometric, gyroscope glory with Timeular! This little guy is not just functional, but beautiful and always turns into a conversation piece on my desk.

Cons: The only thing I wish worked a little better was the companion app. But the Bluetooth connection to my computer works perfectly and that's where I mostly track time anyways.

Pros: Inconspicuous and easy way to keep track of how I spend my time. All my officemates thought it was a neat decorative object until I told them about it.

Cons: The software won't summarize your time for hashtags and the assigned "Activities." I use my projects, non-project, training, etc. as "Activities" and actions like meetings, writing, lab, etc. for my hashtags. Since I have the "free" version of the software, I can't track how much time it would take me to write a experimental report or how much of my month is spent in meetings, trainings, etc.

Overall: I'm a scientist for my employer. My employer gets tax credit for the amount of time/money they spend on research, so Timeular allows me to track how my time is spent on my projects or not projects, which I submit at the end of every week. Also, my employer can also use the project data in the future to estimate how many man months a new project would take.

Pros: This app makes it super easy to track what I'm working on and for how long for each of my clients.

Super simple to customize to your specific tracking needs.

I also enjoy using it to track how long I'm spending on other activities like working out, mobility, etc. throughout each day.

I love that it works well on both my mac and samsung phone.

Cons: I actually don't even use the physical device that you can flip to track your time. I was using the app while waiting for the physical device to ship, and by the time it arrived, I was already in the habit of using the app. Honestly, it's more convenient for me to just the app on my mac while I'm in a good workflow rather than flipping the physical device to track time.

Overall: Great overall solution for tracking work hours as well as other personal activities you want to measure.

Pros: The software is great - easy to use, intuitive, efficient, makes completing my timesheet much less painful.

Cons: The connection with the ZEI device can be very finicky. I never know whether it is going to connect to my phone or computer via the Bluetooth dongle. I frequently have meetings in rooms very near my desk, but when I'm sitting in several of them, it will constantly stop tracking because it loses connection with the ZEI but then immediately reconnects with the ZEI in it's upright, non-tracking position, rather than following the manual tracking I started from the app/software.

Overall: Completing my timesheet is much more efficient and takes less time. It has enabled me to better inform my boss of how/where I spend my time. The support I have received from the Timeular team has been good.

Pros: Weekly reports. Can be tracked a number of different ways (physical device, app, desktop). Tracks my time with (usually) minimal effort)

Cons: The syncing is pretty bad. There are times I go days without the device connecting properly via bluetooth to either the dongle or my phone. Getting it reconnected can be time consuming and frustrating. Sometimes when it does connect a sound and banner pop up on your desktop repeatedly. Usually once every minute or two and is bothersome for 20+ minutes or until you learn to ignore it.

Overall: Great idea. I love the (supposed) ease of tracking time. I purchased 3 devices out of the gate and recommended it to a colleague that bought two more (before I started having troubles with it). The #tagging should be reportable to/by @someone, but I haven't found a way to do that.

Pros: The presence of the Timular on my desk makes me be more intentional with my time. The software tracking is improving but remains second place in value to the trigger of having to intentionally choose what I am spending my time on.

Pros: I like that when it works I can see an accurate view of what I've been up to for the day, how long I worked, and overall how I'm spending my time.

Cons: I dislike that it frequently loses its Bluetooth connection and so isn't actually tracking tasks. This open happens without me noticing, and isn't always easy to fix (can be quite time consuming). As a result to my data is often inaccurate, which demotivates me from continuing to use it.

Overall: I've used it to show my managers how much time I actually spend on my core priority, and for myself to figure out what buckets my work actually falls into. I hope in the future it becomes more reliable with Bluetooth, and it would be nice if it somehow synced with my computer applications to prompt me to flip it, as it's easy to change tasks and not update timular.

Pros: I love how easy it is once you get going. It's easy to set up, but if you go too fast the faces don't register properly. Otherwise, it's an awesome way to find out where time is going. As a business owner, it's important to know how long it takes your staff to complete a task and how much money is being spent on it. My staff are multi-taskers, and bounce between multiple different things. So this has been an awesome way to pin point it.

Cons: It's difficult to operate the cube at times. I'm pretty tech savvy, and getting it set up and everything was a breeze. My staff struggled at first learning the software since the icons on the menu aren't very relevant to what the tab does. I personally, cannot figure out how to get the cube itself to turn off to say battery life. My lights do as they say when following directions on how to do this... but then will still flash blue after. So I'm still lost on that. I also have no idea where I can purchase more of the pens? It's not a typical dry erase marker.

Overall: I love it, and I'd purchase it all over again.

Feels good, much more responsive than it started, still want to love it.

Pros: The software itself is very clean, clear and functional. The timer in the toolbar is incredible not only for my work sessions but also for letting me know when it's time to stand, stretch a little or grab a drink of water.

Cons: This device is what I want to use and feels good while doing it but when I roll up to my desk, and it sees I'm pounding away at my keyboard I wish it would suggest that I start tracking after 3-5 minutes if I haven't tipped it off my base. Just make the logo red in the tool bar after 3 minutes, make it flash red after 10. It's help my usage of the physical device which I enjoy using but sits 12 inches outside my normal zone of reach while interacting with my keyboard.

Pros: Timeular is great with the ZEI cube. It's wonderful at being able to easily switch tasks and accurately record the time for those tasks. As a contractor, I'm usually working on several projects at once, so this makes it incredibly easy to record all of my time throughout the day.

Cons: 24hr time... I'm in the USA and not as familiar with military time unfortunately, so I find it difficult to translate into 24 hr time. I also wish there were an easier hour exporting feature to export to invoices / quickbooks/ xcel, etc.

Overall: Overall great. I've recommended to several of my friends who are also busybodies. It's really helped to get an accurate measure on the time I spend throughout the day.

Pros: Timeular makes time tracking easier because switching between tasks is a tactile action. You swap the octahedron to one of eight sides to start tracking. Setting up tracking categories is a breeze, and the program responds well and is updated often.

Cons: There aren't enough ways to report the timesheets. You can export as an CSV or Excel file, or integrate the app into a few other platforms, but to my knowledge there is no way to see a report from another Timeular user in the Timeular app itself.

Overall: My overall experience with Timeular has been positive. I can definitely see that my productivity has increased thanks to these guys. Other time tracking software just didn't cut it for me.

Pros: I love the feeling of using something "real" to track my digital time. It's convenient and easy to use after set up and one less tab I need to click on to get my work done. It tracks both category time spent and clock-in and out times. Love it!

Cons: I wish the rounding calculation would round up to the nearest minute rather than not tracking if less than 1 minute. I feel like I loose details when I'm switching rapidly between tasks

Overall: My job is entirely online, digital work and I love having something on my desk to replace having another tab open in my browser. Plus, as a board and table top gamer, I love that I can use a 8d at work for something useful - I just wish it came in other colors and or shapes!

Pros: The app is very simple to set up and use, and pleasing to look at.

Cons: The day-by-day portion of the app doesn't have quick shortcuts like "Jump to previous week" or "Jump to current day". If I'm scrolling backward in time I then have to scroll forward until I get to my current day.

On the date range picker portion of the app, I wish the calendar had some type of color coding to indicate usage of the Timeular on any particular day (or perhaps even gradient colors to show how heavy usage was).

Overall: I bought the Timeular in order to control my own time wasting (or monitor how much of it I was wasting). I'm still working at getting disciplined enough to remember flipping it when I'm changing activities.

Pros: Timeular makes it very easy to keep track of time accurately, especially if you are multi-tasking and dealing with lots of things at the same time. Flipping the Zei when you change context is an easy habit.

Cons: I found that I need to shut down my computer every day to ensure that the Zei connects when I next boot up. If I sleep my PC (which I prefer to do) then the Zei does not reconnect when the PC wakes up. I hope that this will be fixed with a future update.

Overall: Tracking time accurately is the first step in better time management, but it has to be very easy to do. It could not be simpler with the Zei device and Timeular. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

Pros: The fact that the Zie and the mobile app works well together and also seperately.

Cons: Lacks the capability to produce invoices even though it is already tracking all my hours. Having to export into another software to create invoices seems like a missed opportunity to me.

Pros: Look and feel of the application, ability to add tags and customize the work categories.

Cons: The cube seems to malfunction often. I wish the application was a bit more easy to use - such as when I click on an already entered time segment I can't just exit, I have to click cancel. I also wish it was easier to break up a chunk of time to assign tags - example: 4 hours on a project, but need to break that time into 3 different projects with varied time entries. Also, I wish the setting for the date/time would 'stick'.

Overall: Overall, it is a great concept and I like the product. I just think there is some opportunity for future improvements.

Pros: How easy it is to just flip the Zei to begin tracking time. Keeps me in my workflow with minimal distraction.

Cons: Changing the battery. I only had to do it once, but it was nearly impossible to get the old battery out. Using a tweezers ended up working.

Overall: Dig it.

Pros: Timeular links the physical and digital as it facilitates time tracking. From the simple act of clicking an activity in the software or turning the device to a particular side, to in-depth notes, hashtags, and @mentions, Timeular lets you track your time and productivity however you prefer.

Cons: I don't have any complaints about the product. I wish that the time tracking export could be a little more functional - perhaps in a pdf, graphical format as opposed to a csv/xlsx.

Overall: Timular allows me to be more mindful about where my time is spent so I can make changes to ensure my productivity is as high as possible.

Pros: Timeular helps me do the thing I hate most about my job - key time. The software is continually improving, and the device works great to help me track my time.

Cons: Connection issues do happen, and I don't prefer to use military time.

Pros: I love the non-digital method of changing timers. I like that it not only tracks the time, but also the timestamp (when it started & ended). While that sounds basic, the last software we used did not.

Cons: I've experienced some trouble with the hardware, specifically getting the ZEI die to turn on & connect. Often I press the button and get no response at all. Often many times in a row. I replaced the battery after having it for only a couple months. That seemed to help a little, but has not solved the problem. It always comes around eventually, but it is mildly frustrating.

Pros: Easily being able to record your time while working on different tasks. Great features include color coding your tasks, being able to tag items with hashtag labels and easy to use. Software integrates well with the hardware and is very responsive. I've had very little issues when using the application or the device.

Cons: The biggest issue for me is trying to track time when multitasking. Let's say I'm working on a project and a task someone needs help, I can't track those simultaneous based on categories.

Overall: Software has helped me manage my time and see what tasks are taking the most time.

Pros: - Flipping the ZEI

- Weekly reports

- Looks nice on my desk

- helps with shifting mindset/focus

Cons: - Sometimes would not connect but this might have been due to my computer and my phone trying to connect to it simultaneously

- There was no low battery warning?

- Would love more integrations

Overall: I like it. Originally I thought it was going to save me a bunch of time but It doesn't fit into my workflow like that unfortunately. What I do like about it is that it keeps me aware of how much time I'm spending where.

I'm not sure it's something I would recommend to anybody just yet as I don't think it would fit in the workflow of most of the professionals I interact with.

Pros: We use this for daily workload recording to determine any problematic areas and opportunities for better efficiency's. It's a great little tool that the staff can use with these!

Cons: When using it it has to paying your IP address to save the data in the cloud. Sometimes the number of pings needed can escalate your cyber security department. We have been working with their C level team to determine impacts and we are under the understanding that they are realigning their efforts to drive down the number of pings needed.

Overall: It's a great little tool! The staff really enjoy using it in the data we can get back is perfect.

Pros: It really helps you keep track of your time in the easiest fashion. You can easily add new tasks and label your cube. Being able to install on different computers makes it easy to keep all your information and time in one place.

Cons: There have been moments where there are bugs and despite resetting the settings it turns back to factory settings.

Overall: The best part of Timeular is the customer service. One of the few companies to actually set up a call to discuss your needs and suggestions. I appreciate that they listen to their users and have added to add more settings.

Pros: Very clean interface. I start tracking time, I label the time slot, and it's easy to move over to my (clunky) billing software.

Cons: The physical device has issues with disconnecting. I keep it at work and sometimes it will reconnect automatically, other times I have to fidget with it.

Overall: It's been especially helpful to track time with a clean interface. As a professional that bills my time, I need to quickly and easily capture my work throughout the day, and the software and physical device are great for when I get interrupted to quickly switch back and forth and keep accurate records.

Pros: I work on projects on an hourly bases, this tool has more than paid for itself. All of those 10 min calls are now captured (were before they were lost time). Away from the device, no problem, I have the app on my phone and when I get back to the office it is all nicely sync'd.

Cons: Originally I wish it had more projects, but after getting used to the flow it ended to not being a con. The only problem I have is me, at the end of the day I'm in a rush to get out of the office and I forget to cradle the device.
