It records to the hour / minute your activities which you can then copy to your time management solution. Or invest time in an API interface. Now my colleagues know what it is, there is less picking up the device. Luckily, even when they do that, it is easy to correct the time. For anyone who wants to know how much time the spend on what, this is a great tool. Pros The software and the hardware (an eight sided double pyramid joined at the bottom) allows you to keep track of what you are doing during the day. For many people filling in timesheets or other time registration tools is a matter of after the fact remembering ... what did I do last week). With Timeular you assign activities to one of the eight sides and the one that is facing up, that is the task you are doing. You put the device in its holder if you are not using it and it rests on one tip so no activity. Cons The bluetooth connection sometimes get lost and reconnects again. There could be a better mechanism for starting and stopping tasks. Review Source VR Verified Reviewer Director Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "An organizer's dream" March 5, 2019 5.0 The main business problem that Timeular is successfully solving for me is that I bill on a time/materials basis, and Timeular accurately tracks my time base on category without me having to use a more manual system to do that. I also shows me full history of how I'm using my time, which is really informative for my habits. I've become easily more productive since using Timeular vs before that, and just have so much more information about some of the intangible details about my clients so that I can serve them better and manage my time better. Pros The timeular software has a dashboard interface that is intuitive, easy to use, and integrates well with my mac. I appreciate how there is a place for notes for each time entry, that time can be edited after the fact, and that there is a way to export and sort my time based on category (and even by note). Cons It takes up a lot of active RAM memory, which noticeably slowed down actual computer usage on the macbook air. I had to upgrade my computer with our IT department so that it would run OK. Sometimes, the bluetooth does not respond when I try to turn it on; sometimes the bluetooth is not as responsive and will connect/disconnect based on how far away I was from my dice, which would stop recording time if the dice was not active (or if I remotely changed a category). I work in the agency space, and have more than 8 clients (categories), so an option for a bigger dice (20 sided?) would be way more useful to me. I've essentially stopped using the dice because I can use the app with my pro plan to add more than 8 categories. I wish there were more color options for the categories! Review Source PM Pietro M. It is very easy to use, with a clean and intuitive interface. The software allows to track my time on various projects, and it provides detailed reports that we can use to analyze productivity. Additionally, it has a decent mobile app that allows to track time on the go. Overall, I am very happy with my choice and would recommend this software to anyone looking for a reliable time-tracking solution. Cons I have to say that - sometimes - I am disappointed with the software stability. It happens that the software crashes, and might lose my work. Reports are not as detailed as they should be, and it doesn’t always offer the flexibility I need to track time effectively. The mobile app is also not very reliable, and it doesn’t always sync well with the desktop version. Software updates seem buggy and connection via Bluetooth is far from perfect. I am able to compartmentalize tasks and stay more focused with the visual reminder of the task at hand. Pros I like that it's an off-screen way to track time. Sometimes I don't to be attached to my screen but I still need to track how long a project is taking me. The cube is also a good visual cue to start and end tracking time. When I was using other time-tracking apps, I would just forget to open the program on my computer. The charts are also really help to get a big-picture view of my week, month, or year. Cons My tracker will sometimes disconnect for an unknown reason, and I won't realize that it wasn't tracking time until I look at the calendar in the app later. Lead Software Engineer, Smart Contract Developer Computer Software Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Timeular - Almost Great" October 5, 2018 3.0 I requested the filtering on calendar feature about 1 year ago and it still hasn't been added, so either they don't take feature requests from users or I'm the only one who cares about this feature. Also the connectivity issue is a huge issue for me. Quite often it wont start tracking a task until I fiddle with turning it off and on a few times. Other times it won't stop tracking and I'll come back to it the next day and realize my tracking never stopped and I've got to figure it all out by hand. Pros Downright simple to use (when it works). Assign tasks to your Zei and flip. Calendar view gives a fantastic overview of your hours tracked each day over the month. Cons Zei hardly ever connects properly. I've even had a new one sent to me but I still have a ton of connection issues. Very unfortunate. Another huge issue I have is there is no way to filter calendar view by task. To get my total daily hours for a specific task I need to export to excel and fiddle with filtering. Would absolutely love to have filtering built into the calendar view. Review Source RK Rainer K. Timeular helps me to track the time I spend for work, even if at home you constantly also switch to other things. The Goal setting feature is very helpful for this, have set a goal of 40 hours tagged "#Work" per week, can easily check if I'm on track or not. Pros Time tracking by using a physical device (the octaeder) is the best feature. No more need to pull out your phone open an app and so on. Task switches are easily documented by just a turn of the device. This means that tracking your time does not mean extra big effort or constant interruptions to fill out time sheets. Cons Would love to have customizable color schemes on the desktop app, the new colours for the dark theme are too bright for my taste. Review Source Brenda R. The Timeular team is very responsive and open to adding new features. Cons It would be great if you can add certain tags to people within your company. For example which team they belong to, or other such tags, that make it easier to filter. (I am aware that I can create filters manually, but I would prefer an automatic system). It's been great and easy to use for tracking and billing for myself and several friends that use it! Pros If you're reading this, stop and start your account right now.I love the app for tracking time for billable hours as well as non-billable admin type tasks.Easy to see breakdowns of where my time goes each week and month. Cons No real complaints. I was trying to build an automation between Timeular and my invoicing tool at one point, and hit a little snag with API queries, but that's not a major issue nor is it going to impact most users. The online and mobile tracking is quite crucial for my work and day to day planning. I like the small cube and ease of use particularly. With the statistics I have all tasks and working hours for projects and tasks alike always available. Moreover, the fact of being able to consult the data on any device, it is a very practical aspect (without counting the automatic backup) Cons Some small improvements that could be made: - Improve the rating system in the tasks (comments). October 19, 2018 5.0 With Timeular, I solved the business problem of risking getting sidetracked and wasting time when switching between the tasks but needing to track my hours for client billing. Overall, the design of the app and device is very nice. I would definitely recommend Timeular to anyone that is particularly averse to using spreadsheets for time tracking. Pros Working in a scenario where I need to be constantly tracking my time but do not want the interruption of having to open a spreadsheet everytime I switch to something new (which could be 6-10x per day) I love the fact that I have Timeular that enables me to track my tasks accurately without having to open yet another tab or app on my mac. I also love that the design is modern and simple. Cons For a while, the desktop app was VERY buggy. Update notifications would be pushed but the actual update would never happen. They have chat support right within the app, so it was nice to reach out and actually be heard, but it still did not resolve my problem for over a month until someone figured out that the only way to overcome that was to do a full re-install. Not \*that\* big of a deal since the data is cloud-based, but still was not a great experience out of the box. Things have been more consistent since that incident, although it is still lacking some features that I would love to see. Hopeful they will become available in future releases. Technical Support Expert Level 2 Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great idea - minor issues" October 6, 2018 4.0 As stated, the biggest issues I have is with forcing myself to use it and to remember to do so. Battery change process was a bit cumbersome for modern electronics. Instead this should be rechargeable. I don't see much reason that a small LiIon battery isn't in this, and that the dock doesn't recharge it, either with spring pins or wireless charging. this would be well worth any added cost to the product. If the product glowed, blinked, or "breathed" color I think that would help for rembering to use it and also to flip it, etc. Pros The software is flexible, allowing you to use it in almost any manner you wish Cons The biggest issue I have with Timeular is actually utilizing it. When you are busy, I've found it's very difficult to train yourself to remember to flip it. This results in very inaccurate tracking that I have to later correct which for my purposes, is more hassle than it's worth. I could see additional reminders in the software, perhaps on 15 minutes, and on the hardware itself - make it blink etc - helping to train the user to utilize it. Review Source SZ Stefan Z. Da ich für unterschiedliche Auftraggeber tätig bin, kann ich die einzelnen Projekte unkompliziert erfassen, monatlich auswerten und Ziele festlegen, um Projektzeiten nicht zu überschreiten.Die Auswertungen eignen sich auch gut als Zeitnachweis als Anlage zu meinen Rechnungen. I've gifted it 3x to folks and just LOVE IT.I wish the subscription pricing wouldn't have gone up for simple users like myself so I'm not sure how long I'll keep it going beyond this year. Pros I love how fun the widget is. I love how you can decorate it and ease of use between the mobile app and desktop app. I love the reporting and insights you can track which make quantifying time really easy. Cons Entering timings via the desktop app is tricky sometimes. If I'm in AM entering a time and I update the ending time, sometimes it jumps to PM then I have to reset the entry and it causes a few steps and the sizing gets weird. Wish it wasn't so exacting right away. I wish the price for the subscription was lower. The recent price increase felt like a cash grab.
