I've setup different workspaces for the different clients I've billed and it allows me to indicate whether time is billable or not. Export functions allow me to attach a PDF of all my time to send to my clients so I reduce the amount of times that they need to ask me where their time is being spent. Cons I wish there was some way to set alerts as I'm nearing my maximum time I've been permitted by a client in a fixed interval. Review Source Daniel H. I've never experienced any bugs or difficulties using the software with the device (pretty good achievement in my opinion). App syncs with the device quickly. Cons Right now I'm only using the app and I wouldn't mind having the ability to see more statistics of what I'm doing with my time. When I look at the chart of how much time I'm spending on each activity, the app always defaults to looking at the whole week. Pros The ease with which I can track the work that I do and I can look to see where my time is spent. Bought one for all my employees and it makes it so easy for them to track time. Cons One minor little issue is when there is an update, it doesn't update the first time. Timeular never re-opens. If I open it manually then run the update again it works. In the past I could only guess on how much of my time is spent with development, debugging, meetings or other activities, but now I can tell these numbers not only from my gut. Having this data at hand helps me to estimate upcoming tasks better and manage my time at work more efficiently. Pros I love the goal Timeular aims at: to track, understand and improve how you work. The package and the pricing (software for free with certain limitations and the ZEI hardware for a one time fee, subscription for an annual fee) is very good, easy to understand and flexible to individuals' needs. All of the tools are extremely intuitive and are working well. The software product, the hardware's material design and the way the company operates is very professional, for instance you can see on their website the roadmap and recently released features. Cons There is nothing I did not like per se, but some things can be improved. I would highly appreciate a drag-to-change feature in the list view of the Timeular apps to change the start/end times of the entries I have recorded. It would be a nice touch in the UI and would save lots of time when I am correcting entries in the list. Another addition which would be great is to extend the weekly reports with some sort of "comparison" to previously recorded data. For instance, if I have tracked X percent/amount more time with one of my activities, it would be great if the system would tell me about it in the reports. My mind was more free to tackle the important tasks and the time to manage my time was reduced by half. Also, the close relationship between the brand and the community, either through updates, tips or, of course, support has left a very positive note in my opinion. Pros The synchronicity between several other softwares and apps and the concept of tangibility on managing projects and your time with said apps. Also, the constant improvement of timeular is very noticeable and very connected to the community. Cons Migrating from and between other apps is confusing, although that is true to any other product. This helps me track all that I do and I don't have to add up the hours at the end of the day. If I go from responding to email to a meeting then back to email, it calculates all the time for each activity and makes life easier. Before I was using paper and soft of keeping track of my time and at the end of the day estimating my time. Now I can give precise times and easily look back at my history to see what I have been doing and for how long. This is a great product for keeping track of this kind of stuff. They have other apps that you can use, but being able to turn a physical object makes it so much better. Pros Simple interface that is easy to understand and use. The updates have made things way better, it used to disconnect all the time and now it's working great. I like that I can also make changes to my data or start/stop tracking activities from my phone. Just the same it's easy to modify your data on the desktop application and track activities that you may not have assigned to a side. Cons Wish there were more colors to choose when creating the different activities. Wouldn't mind have more sides to the dice, even if it meant that it had to be a bit bigger. Review Source Bryan A. Electronic time tracking with a physical component to keep the process in your conciousness. It is entirely too easy to "forget" an all electronic/app solution. The added Zeio is my reminder of what task I am one and also that I must be aware when I change them. Pros I love the cross device syncing. Off to a meeting and forgot to flip the Zeio? I'll admit I was drawn in by the clever tchotchke, but the most useful part of the purchase has been the tracking app. I start times right on it, and haven't charged the thing in years. Cons Nothing. I love the idea tracking time by simply turning my ZEI. The software is easy to use. More features come with every update, simplicity stays. Good job! Cons Live tracking or direct transpancy on who is working on thich project and or task. (Usecase, may or may I not call my collegue as I see he is working on a related project to my topic). Timeular has given me insight into how much time goes to meetings, phone calls, email, and other various distractions. The software makes filling out our now very complicated time tracking documents a breeze. The colored charts also make it easy to communicate about the many demands on my time to show the higher ups that it's not all writing code and that 9 hours behind a desk is not 9 hours of direct progress. I'm hoping the price comes down somewhat or there are bulk/enterprise deals available soon so I can talk my coworkers/lead into introducing Timeular to the team more formally. Pros The device and software are easy to use. I love the design and how customizable it is while not being overly complex. The reports make filling out my timesheet easy and have contributed to discussions about process and efficiency at work. Coworkers also just think it looks cool. Cons I leave the Timeular device on my desk at the office and take my computer with me at night. Getting the device to pair again using the included bluetooth dongle can be tricky. I usually have to unplug and re-plug the dongle. The thing that usually makes people second-guess it while I'm telling them about it is the price. Review Source SB Steven B. Before, I was guesstimating in my head how long things took. But now, I can see it in plain sight! It has made me more effective at writing proposals for clients because I have a better grasp on how long things will take. The device is super easy to set up and use. Plus, if I ever have any problems or questions, the support staff is incredibly helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend Timeular! Pros I own my own marketing agency, and I am constantly switching gears throughout the day. It has always been difficult for me to track my hours and time because I forget to write things down, and then nothing is accurate. Timeular has changed all of that. This cute little device sits right on my desk, and it's an easy flip to the side of whichever client I'm working on to start tracking. I add notes about the project and/or client work, and I can easily see when I've worked too many hours in one day. The weekly report is awesome too! Cons I truly have zero complaints about Timeular. My only request would be to provide a carrying case because I'm frequently working in different locations and like to take it with me. I'm using a jewelry bag that serves the purpose, though. Timular allows me to do this with greater accuracy than tracking on paper, and with less disruption than other computer-based systems I've seen. Plus I can track what I was doing for a client each time I worked on their project, so my reporting is more accurate. Pros It accurately records the time I spend on each task, and reports on it in a couple of useful ways. It's very easy to use, and set up took almost no time at all. Cons I'd like to be able to resize the screen a little more. I keep it open so I can make notes on what I'm doing (especially when I use the same "side" for more than one client) but the screen takes up valuable real estate on my computer screen. Easy to add, adjust or remove tracked time. Easy to generate overviews. Cons Not sure if you can make a distinction between billable and non-billable time. Maybe they added it recently. Not checked yet. Reason for choosing EARLY They initially offered a physical bluetooth time tracker switcher unit. Ready to invoice. Pros Timeular is fast and with the tracker and iPhone app, it helps me log every entry, not losing a billable hour anymore. Cons It is not (yet) linked to standard software other than Zapier.Although the option is there, it is an additional software to pay for.It should be either built-in or Zapier included in the price. Pros I have to switch between different tasks all day that each get billed to different clients/line items. This mobile/cube tracker is beyond helpful at taking care of that while I work. Then at the end of the week, putting together my timesheet is a breeze. Cons I wish there were more color options. I want to code a project in green and then each aspect a different shade. I have too many projects with too many parts each to be able to truly color code. This also makes my calendar harder to read with the same color meaning multiple things. Review Source SM Susan M. (when it stayed connected) I loved it. Pros The ease in switching projects. I like being able to either use the cube or the software to track time. It's easy to make correction also Cons I constantly have issues with the device not being connected. If I have to un-dock my laptop and walk away, even if I have shut down the software it won't reconnect when I re-dock. I have wasted a lot of time trying to reconnect the device. Many times I have to take the battery out and put it back in for the device to be recognized. Otherwise I have to reboot my laptop. I have stopped using it recently as it does not have enough sides for all my projects. I tried doubling up but it became too confusing. Implementation Consultant/ Project Manager Computer Software Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great Way To Keep Track of Time " March 6, 2019 4.0 I have been able to reduce the time needed to report my project time which has allowed me to spend more time working on project tasks vs. administration Pros I use Timeluar to track the time I spend on work projects. I am currently juggling 7 clients and 8 projects. I used to use my outlook calendar to block off project time but found I was losing track of the misc time I send on projects. Having the ability to quickly start and stop time tracking with Timeular has helped me accurately capture my time. It also makes reporting much easier. it used to take me more than twice as much time to review my calendar and remember the misc time. But now I use the statistics page to quickly record my time to our internal time tracking tool. Cons There are two items I would like to see changed. If I preload meetings to timeular for the day in timeular and then start the timer and forget to stop it when my pre-logged entry starts when I end the timer timeular overwrites the original entry. It would be great if there was a warning to tell me I am about to overwrite an entry. Also, it would be great to have spell check for the notes section. Review Source AJ Adam J. It is helping me do less multitasking and stay on target more. It has revealed some patterns of my work that I thought were true but it is nice to have data to back it up. I really like this app and device. Pros The best part about the software is the device. I have tried a variety of time-logging apps but having the octahedron on my desk that I can flip to various activities is super helpful for me. The software is mostly intuitive and customer service on using the app and the device has been phenomenal. I run Timeular on my laptop and my phone, so I can track activities even when I am away from my desk I can click and keep track of how I spend my time. Cons There are occasional glitches where the time to log the last activity is not instantaneous, and that causes me to manually enter an activity that then overwrites the correct one that tries to add later. The device didn't link after using it for several months, but with customer service help I was able to find out that the battery was dead. Replacing it was easy, but I wish the app could tell me that the device battery was low. Review Source Traci G. All too frequently I couldn't remember. With the Timeular cube on my desk, I have a visual reminder to track my work. It couldn't be easier. Shipping was incredibly fast too—faster than I even expected! Pros Timeular is the easiest way ever to track the time I spend on different projects. With a simple flip of the Timeular cube, I can indicate what I'm working on and track my time in excellent detail. It's far superior to trying to write down granular details of what I do when. Cons If I forget to flip the cube, I have to make corrections. Sometimes I have trouble correcting errors, but nothing that can't be overcome. I just need to pay more attention. I LOVE the ability to track on my desktop and mobile device. This feature allows me to track small increments of time that might otherwise be left out, for example if I take a short phone call or respond to email while waiting for my kid after school. This is the best time tracking app. I love it and would absolutely recommend it to anyone interested in knowing more about where and how they're spending time. Has it made me a productivity machine? Probably not, but it does help set you up for success. I can easily imagine that future generations of the Zei and the software will make Timeular an even more useful productivity tool. Pros Timeular is a very easy to use, fit for purpose, simple time tracking tool. I use it to track billable hours and it makes doing timesheets significantly less painful. For the most part, I just use the software independent of the Zei peripheral. The main reason for this is that it doesn't work dongle free on my work PC Cons The mobile app used to be quite slow and suffered from lag. At around the same time as their last software update, I also upgraded my phone and it is currently running very well on the iPhone Xs. I would like to see more detailed reporting to support doing timesheets. At the moment I export a CSV and import that into a spreadsheet, which cuts the data the way I need it.
