Owner Market Research Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "More Productivity, Fewer Time Sinks" October 2, 2018 5.0 I have labeled each side of my device to represent the key clients I work with throughout the year, and left a few sides open for administration, to track time sinks, and for marketing/ideation. I use the software to track each client's projects (using the @ symbol and a project name) and the # to tag tasks like #research, #transcripts, and #reportwriting that are common across the different projects I take on. Timeular gives me a full breakdown of the time involved at each step, which has helped me with more accurate costing, improving productivity, and planning deadlines. Pros Timeular is a fun little device that makes it very easy to track my time on multiple projects, as well as the time I spend on each step I need to complete within each project. It has also made me more aware of how much time can be lost browsing social media feeds, and how many un-billable hours I have spent on administrative duties. Cons The user interface allows for the addition of several projects and tasks that can become unwieldy after a year using this device and wrapping up close to 100 projects; there is no way to delete completed project names or rename them to reduce the bulk, but it is intuitive and a few keystrokes usually pulls up what you need. This software is great! Pros Timeular makes tracking your time automatic. No complicated spreadsheets, no lists of a hundred different categories. Assign your tasks, flip your ZEI and get to work. That's all there is to it. You also get beautiful reports emailed automatically and the export functionality allows you to customize your own reports for what ever you need. Cons Occasionally the connectivity of the ZEI is finicky, which can disrupt your flow a bit. But it doesn't happen often enough that to stop me from recommending Timeular. Have recommended multiple times and am very happy about the continued development and improvement! Pros The tracker and software are an epic combination. Having a physical device remind me about switching the task I track is incredibly helpful and makes it easy and fast. Cons Minor problem as I don't often change them, but I find it hard to remove stickers from the tracker's surface. Pros I love the tactile aspect of the product. It is something that sits on my desk and is easily used to switch my time between projects. The other aspect I love are the integrations. My company uses Timecamp, so with Timeular I'm able to connect that to Google Calendar and then I can connect Google Calendar to Timecamp. It saves me so much time each week when inputting my time on Friday. Cons I have an older model so I need to change out the battery. Review Source John Y. It's great for tracking project time (ie Billable hours!!) and other assorted tasks to ensure I'm spending time doing the things I should be doing throughout the day. Cons As with any new software company - there were bugs in the beginning. But any issues I had when they begun are long gone by now. Zero problems getting what I need to get out of this software. Pros It's incredibly easy for me to keep track of my time every day down to the minute. I can also quickly pull a report to show how much time I've spent with a specific client or on a specific task. The ability to set higher-level categories and then categorize using @ and # to get more granular is incredibly helpful. Also, while this isn't necessarily relevant, it's fun - the way they describe their updates is very clever. Cons I haven't yet found an easy way to share a time report with my clients. If I export the report, the result is an Excel document that contains a lot more data than they'd ever want - at the very least, I have to delete a lot of columns and update the formatting before I'd send it to anyone. My workaround has been to take a screenshot of the visual report I see within the software, but that's not ideal either. Being able to export a visually-appealing PDF would be amazing. Cons There should be an easier and flexible way to assign the tracker to tasks in different spaces and also have them remember the last assigned. We should be able to assign one face to multiple task in different spaces but deactivate the one you're not using. Pros It's intuitive and beautiful - Kudos to your UI designer. I can get access easily to all the things I want to know about; device connectivity, current working time, total working time - ect. Cons I feel like Timeular could still do more to help users into better habits. For instance, I noticed that when I start my day sometimes timeular will notify me to use my device - this is awesome. Unfortunately I often leave my desk at the end of the day forgetting to turn my timeular device back over... I think the software should allow me to define working times and maybe also define a notification time limit that will maybe notify me through my phone that I might have allowed my device to runaway on me. If I tell the software 'yes' it is a runaway - end the task at the time I listed as the end of my workday. I'm drooling just thinking about it. I think the other area Timeular falls short is in the integrations stage. The UI controls are clunky in the web portal and not well explained. Also the tutorials for setup live outside the integration setup process... Why? Why not use the tutorial to make the setup process more intuitive? Review Source Erik M. I love the ease of flipping the cube Pros Real time tracking, ability to record comments on each entry (I use this for: client name, tix number), ability to use without the cube (perfect for when I work from home), lastly the overall summary of the day view. Cons I do wish there were more integrations available; OpenAir is one of the largest platforms for timetracking (end of each day I switch to the day summary view then manually fill out my employers timesheet), I hope it’s on your roadmap for future integrations. There is a Linux stand alone application. It has mobile and the physical dice type device so that different people can use it however works best for them. it's great for tracking team time on tasks to see how much energy is being spent on certain types of work. Cons I have trouble running a report on the SAME day. It usually doesn't work if I want to run a report on a team member for the same day. Despite some small hiccups that every new hardware company sees, this time tracking tool saves me a full hour of what used to be manual time tracking every week, and dramatically improved data quality of time entries. The support staff is response and listens to user feedback, and the software and hardware is slick and user friendly. It's a great productivity tool for me Pros \- Intuitive, customizable software - Supports lots of different platforms - Really easy to get started - Very fast, easy way to track time - App data automatically updates across mobile and desktop software - Support directly in the app is convenient and responsive Cons \- Early versions have a few bugs, but still very usable. Changing settings for date/time format in US must be done every day until app is updated (fix is in the works) - For use with a PC you need a USB dongle (mac's and phones work with just bluetooth, currently using my phone). I just moved into a project based job, and I was really struggling to find a way to more accurately track my time on specific projects, especially when I was switching quickly. Having the physical die helps keep me on track by reminding me what I am supposed to be focusing on and helps remind me to switch without having to go into that window. It is also less obtrusive than a computer program that takes pictures of your screen every 15 minutes or the other options I have seen. The software also allows you to easily adjust, add, or delete entries and integrate with things like ical. Pros The tracker die that ties with the time tracking software makes me much more aware of my time and easier to switch tasks in the midst of a hectic workday. Cons The fact that the die only has 8 sides is a little limiting. I have seen some new people in the space that are creating die with more sides for more tasks. On the other hand, having a few fewer sides also helps simplify the system for the user. Also, the price is a little high, especially on the outset. March 7, 2019 5.0 Overall, Timeular has been a wonderful product for our design team. It's been a huge help in helping us evaluate how much time we should spend on projects based on how much time it took us to do it during the previous year. So far, it's been great and super helpful! Pros What I loved most about this software was the ease of use. It's really easy to utilize through the computer application. This also helps give me an accurate visual as to what I'm working on and how I can better balance my design time. Cons What I liked least about this software was the physical cube you are supposed to use to change to a different project. It doesn't register a change in project very well, so I found myself spending extra time trying to get it to land on the correct project and start tracking time. I wanted to demonstrate what I’ve been working on throughout my day and this has made it simple to do that Pros It’s easy to use and set up. You install an app or a desktop program, flip the Timeular to the side you want to designate and title the actor both you want to track. Then just flip it every time you do another activity. It connects to devices well and makes it really easy to track what I do during the day. The reports are also very informative Cons I wish it had more sides to track more activities. October 8, 2018 4.0 Monitoring time spent on each client - some for billing and some just for my own time management - has been so much easier since getting my Timeular. The app (for me on iPhone and Mac) has made it easy to make adjustments and I've used the reporting to backup my invoices to clients. Pros The physical dice makes it so easy to switch between clients / projects - I've tried a number of time management apps but always find I forget to go in and change if I switch. Particularly if it was an 'interruption' such as a long phone call. With the Timeular dice, you just flip it over to the right client and then flip back to what you were working on. It's so simple but it really works. My time management has been much more accurate since I've been using it. Cons There have been a few issues with the physical dice disconnecting - although it does continue to monitor time. Customer service were responsive and they are continuing to release regular updates to iron out the early adopter issues.
