It has enabled me to better inform my boss of how/where I spend my time. The support I have received from the Timeular team has been good. Pros The software is great - easy to use, intuitive, efficient, makes completing my timesheet much less painful. Cons The connection with the ZEI device can be very finicky. I never know whether it is going to connect to my phone or computer via the Bluetooth dongle. I frequently have meetings in rooms very near my desk, but when I’m sitting in several of them, it will constantly stop tracking because it loses connection with the ZEI but then immediately reconnects with the ZEI in it’s upright, non-tracking position, rather than following the manual tracking I started from the app/software. I love the (supposed) ease of tracking time. I purchased 3 devices out of the gate and recommended it to a colleague that bought two more (before I started having troubles with it). The #tagging should be reportable to/by @someone, but I haven't found a way to do that. Pros Weekly reports. Can be tracked a number of different ways (physical device, app, desktop). Tracks my time with (usually) minimal effort) Cons The syncing is pretty bad. There are times I go days without the device connecting properly via bluetooth to either the dongle or my phone. Getting it reconnected can be time consuming and frustrating. Sometimes when it does connect a sound and banner pop up on your desktop repeatedly. Usually once every minute or two and is bothersome for 20+ minutes or until you learn to ignore it. Review Source ED Emma D. The weekly tracking emails to see how my weeks stack up against each other is wonderful as my day to day hours change drastically. Cons Sometimes the hours I assign don't reconcile correctly. I'll place a time stamp for 1:00-1:30 then another for 1:30-4:30, and my total hours will read a minute off as 3:29. Review Source aS alden S. I have recommended it to multiple people at my company and they all use it daily. Pros I love how easy to use this product is. It has been key in helping me fill out my timesheets each month and stay on top of my weekly billability goals. The software tracking is improving but remains second place in value to the trigger of having to intentionally choose what I am spending my time on. Cons The interface to track time is still very hit or miss even with the latest firmware update. Sometimes I turn it and it tracks sometimes it doesn’t. I love the physical tracker (it looks cool on my desk and it helps remind me to track my time) but I also love that you can use it without the tracker if you're not at home, for example. I think the UI/UX of the software has a lot of room for improvement. Pros I LOVE the concept and the actual device. Fits my mental model for Cons I find the app pretty hard to use. - Even after using it for a few months, I constantly click the wrong icon, as they are very minimal and not totally obvious - The "day view" (clock icon) is really hard to use. You should be able to click and drag the seams of time entries to adjust, but can't. Inevitably you forget to flip your Zei sometimes when you start a new task, and i just want to be able to flip it to the right task, and quickly drag the time back an hour or whatever. Doing this kind of common operation is tedious. As for the device, my only complaints are: - sometimes it doesn't automatically connect - often when leaving work, I shut my laptop, before putting the zei on the rest. I then end up with a running clock on my last task. Not sure what the fix for that would be, or if I just need to make sure I rest it before closing up my computer. - I alos dislike that the non-subscription version limits your activities. Cons Early on, there would be a couple of glitches here and there, in particular with the tracking not connecting properly to my computer. I think for people with 8 parallals type of task, it's a must have ! I like a lot. Cons I switch daily from multiple project, much more than 8, so some times, I can't use the device a must find my way to the old way, but it's very simply with the desktop app and quick access ctrl+E. October 8, 2018 5.0 I love it, and I’d purchase it all over again. Pros I love how easy it is once you get going. It’s easy to set up, but if you go too fast the faces don’t register properly. Otherwise, it’s an awesome way to find out where time is going. As a business owner, it’s important to know how long it takes your staff to complete a task and how much money is being spent on it. My staff are multi-taskers, and bounce between multiple different things. So this has been an awesome way to pin point it. Cons It’s difficult to operate the cube at times. I’m pretty tech savvy, and getting it set up and everything was a breeze. My staff struggled at first learning the software since the icons on the menu aren’t very relevant to what the tab does. I personally, cannot figure out how to get the cube itself to turn off to say battery life. My lights do as they say when following directions on how to do this... but then will still flash blue after. So I’m still lost on that. I also have no idea where I can purchase more of the pens? It’s not a typical dry erase marker. The timer in the toolbar is incredible not only for my work sessions but also for letting me know when it’s time to stand, stretch a little or grab a drink of water. Cons This device is what I want to use and feels good while doing it but when I roll up to my desk, and it sees I’m pounding away at my keyboard I wish it would suggest that I start tracking after 3-5 minutes if I haven’t tipped it off my base. Just make the logo red in the tool bar after 3 minutes, make it flash red after 10. It’s help my usage of the physical device which I enjoy using but sits 12 inches outside my normal zone of reach while interacting with my keyboard. Review Source SP Stuart P. This has made it easy to do just that. It also really helps at the end of the week filling in my internal timesheet for capitalization of hours. No more guesswork, built in reminders of how I spent my work week! Pros I had a lot of deskside conversations before getting this device. I labelled one of my sides appropriately. In the corporate office environment, suddenly I started getting a lot fewer deskside conversations... there's something about flipping the device in front of people that makes them realize that you switched tasks and they're on the clock. There was a good degree of humour while telling people how it worked. Would buy again just for the psychological benefit! Cons Went with the no-ongoing-cost version, not really on board with only 8 tasks permanently, changing one of them changes your entire history and affects metrics. I believe I am providing nearly exact time spent. Pros Very nearly self-explainable. I like that I can use the app on my PC or on my phone when I've forgotten to flip the block. Cons I wish there was an archive option vs. deleting a project. Pros I love having a PHYSICAL device on my desk as a reminder to track whichever project I am working on at the moment. I've used a number of apps and such, but having a physical presence on your desk truly helps as a reminder "hey, don't forget to track what you're doing!". The interface is beautifully designed and the device works very well (usually). Cons The only thing I don't like is sometimes when I leave the office for a trip and come back, the device doesn't always connect right away, or it'll connect to your phone and not your computer. I quickly started to use it for other activities, personnal, like reading, doing crochet 😉. As I saw the object Zei and the fact That You can have .csv reports and use them in Google sheet, i took the premium subscription. I use it now on computer too. And now it's perfect because bills that i send to my customers are entirely authomatise every month. I can also follow my goals to read more, and other things i want to concentrate on. Cons Sometime if my computer is not on good wifi, timings can be lost. Also it was à little bit difficult to use first because i am french and it's not translate. Mt unorganized self has needed this Pros I like how it integrates with a physical object to flip while you switch tasks to keep me better engaged in time keeping. I also like being able to sort by date and project for time Cons I wish I could organize my projects further, I tend to shuffle through quite a few so it can be messy.
